This amazing family run business delivers the best Turkish in Town, freshly cooked meals and the top class service is a rare find these days. All facilities are immaculate, can’t recommend it enough, really fantastic.

Tucked away in leafy Bouverie village worth a stroll from the town centre. Food is amazing.

We had an excellent meal here with delicious food and friendly service - as it was quiet we enjoyed talking about the food and the family who run the restaurant. It was great value for money as for the price of two drinks and two mains we werevalso given some pitta bread, olives and Turkish delight which were nice touches. The restaurant has been re-branded 'S' but is still Shayda's.

I came here for my birthday lunch with my partner at the time which thankfully I walked away from.......... and I can honestly say that we will definitely be back!! From the initial greeting by the owner and his daughter....... Which by the way, his wife and son also work here......... We were made to feel very welcomed indeed! The daughter was really attentive and literally couldn't of looked after us any better than she did. We had starters and a main each and I'd like to say that I've not had better Turkish food anywhere else in the UK yet! The menu has all the favourites and a really nice selection of chefs specials! We're 100% going back one evening when I don't have my car and share a few drinks (especially my birthday drink guys)! What a great find with a great family....... A real credit to yourselves and brilliant addition to Folkestone you are!! See you soon!

Was very excited to try this place and the server was really sweet but the meat smelled bad and uncooked.

Unfortunately, we were misled by inaccurate hours shown on Google maps, where it said on Sunday would be closing at 9pm, and unfortunately, we just travelled 30min to the restaurant, got there at 7pm and it was closing.

Beautiful freshly cooked Turkish food. Family run restaurant with great service and reasonably priced. Bring a good appetite to tackle the very generous portions!

Went to Shayda's for a family meal yesterday and I was very impressed. Food is incredibly tasty and beautifully presented.The family who run the restaurant are really friendly and attentive. making us all feel really welcome. Will definitely be back.

It was very delicious . We ordered lamb. Very juicy and tasty. And she also ordered shrimp. My child does not eat any seafood or fish at all, I was pleasantly surprised that he finally dared to taste shrimp and surprisingly he liked it. Special thanks for the very friendly service. Everything is clean. It is suitable both for a family and for a noisy company. I will definitely visit this establishment again the next time we are there☺️. Very tasty cuisine 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

My husband and I popped in without a booking and they kindly squeezed us in. We love Turkish food and often visit them in Haringgay London. However this was exceptional. the service and friendly welcome/service was a breath of fresh air. They couldn't have been more attentive. First visit for my birthday with my daughters and two grandson's. Fantastic meal and excellent service from some lovely people. The owner came over to greet us and the lovely daughter who was our waitress for the evening went out of her way to make us feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend a visit. Mixed Meze was amazing, down to the presentation. Waitress was always helpful and kind. So many small touches that made it a great stop - lemon slices in your drink, the bathrooms are pristine, the music being quiet but still creating a nice ambiance. 10/10, amazing restaurant. If I lived in this area, this would be my go-to food place.

Went to Shaydar last night with seven friends. Firstly no non alcoholic beer. Had this conversation the last time we were there and advised they would be getting some. I asked for a French orange liquor. Didn't have it. I asked fir a brandy in a coffee. Not nice at all. I didn't eat my main. It was cold. Have been to Shaydar several times before but this was disappointing. Really nice waitress doing her best but not quite good enough.

Came here lunchtime to say goodbye to a dear colleague who was retiring. Staff were very pleasant. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. My peroni beer didn't taste right and the lady kindly swapped for a new bottle. Altho I live in medway I will visit again to try some of the other choices 😋

I attended a birthday party here for my Grandson. We began with a lamb platter starter with Turkish bread. Very nice. Our mains was a large platter with lamb chops, ribs,kebabs, chicken wings, rice etc. It was absolutely delicious, I don't normally try foreign cuisines, but I have to say I really enjoyed this meal and the family event of course.

We came to this restaurant for my 31st birthday. The food was out of this world, full of flavour!! Each member of our parts really enjoyed each meal. my taste buds are still tingling. Service was amazing, highly recommended.

The complimentary bread was fresh and piping hot ! I ordered the pan fried prawns and I was not left disappointed.Prawns were full of flavour

First time diners. What a lovely evening. Restaurant is modern clean and airy especially with open front restaurant, great on summers night. Minute we arrived we felt welcomed by smiley waitress, I'd imagine she's the daughter of owner. Owner was so friendly too so 10/10 for staff, welcome and friendliness. Food was delivered quick, and instantly we felt we'd transported to the Mediterranean, absolutely lovely food. We will be back

One of our favourite restaurants in Folkestone, it was our anniversary dinner there was 12 of us and the service and food was absolutely fantastic 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Honestly 5 stars is not enough for this wonderful family run business. An absolute gem in Folkestone I highly recommend a visit, several family members were dairy intolerant and it wasn't a problem my husband is totally blind and absolutely loves it here. Again I can't say enough you have to visit this wonderful restaurant

My favorite. Lovely family ran business, they are so welcoming and nice. The food is amazing too, we love to the special which is basically all our Turkish favorites, lamb and chicken shish, lamp ribs, lamb chops, chicken's wings, salad, bulgur. All made with love! The meat is very tender and succulent. So much better than the favorite chain...

The Best Turkish restaurant in Folkestone! The Special platter was extremely tasty. But the most importantly was the welcome from the restaurant owner and his daughter who is the waitress there. Felt that we were greated by close relatives. Thank you for the wonderful New years eve dinner:)

Went here at the weekend for lunch as a family - really couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly, especially our waitress whom I believe is the owner's daughter. I'm not familiar with Turkish cuisine so I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the food was delicious and the portions were a good size, drinks were reasonably priced and the place was very clean - we will be back!

Visited Folkstone and went in with family, the food was great, family loved it and managed to finish all off it. The small meatballs was great the kids loved it... Would recommend others to visit on their travels.

My partner and I had an absolutely superb meal here. We live in London and were in Folkestone for a staycation and have sampled many a Turkish meal and we can honestly say this was the best Turkish food we have tasted. This is a family run restaurant with a lovely personal touch. If we lived nearer we would be coming back all the time. A gem of a restaurant!

The food is not worth its price and no flavor at all . The only good thing is the water nothing else.

Absolutely fantastic place. I have lived in the med for around 7 years, travelled extensively all through Turkey and I have to say that this is up there with anything I've ever eaten. We had the mixed grill which was to die for, great sauces, rice and bulger wheat to go with it plus a lovely salad. I don't write many reviews but this place definitely needed some special attention! Also brilliant attentive service from our waitress who seemed to really care we'd had a good meal. 5 stars from me all day long. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tried to charge us more on delivering at door. Even tho we paid over internet. Food was barely warm. So by the time we plated it, it was cold. Very bland and well over priced for what you get. Most of the £45 worth of food was fed to the seagulls the next morning. Absolutely awful. I thought it might be a nice change from my local kebab house and a treat but no should of stuck with what i know.

A good place to eat. Pre-COVID we found their lunch menu good value and the staff friendly and efficient.
