Wir hatten an unserem letzten Abend von unserer London Reise noch ein Pub in der Nähe unseres Hotels gesucht, da wir gerne doch mal noch britisch essen wollten, da uns zuvor immer wieder andere leckere Restaurants vor die Nase gelaufen sind. Die Lage ist soweit in Ordnung. Platz scheint es vor allem aber draussen zu haben. Am Abend um ca. 19 Uhr war es doch recht kühl aber drinnen gab es keinen Platz mehr. Wir hatten dann einen Tisch unter dem Gedeckten Sitzplatz gefunden, der über Wärmestrahler (Die hatte ich dann nach späterem umschauen bemerkt) verfügt. Bedienung am Tisch hatten wir keine bemerkt, wir hatten ein paar Minuten gewartet nachdem wir die Karte auf dem Tisch uns angeschaut hatten. Ein anderes Paar an einem anderen Tisch ist deswegen dann wohl auch wieder gegangen. Wir hatten uns aber entschieden dann einfach kurz an die Bar zu gehen und dort was zu bestellen. (und gleich bezahlt) Das Personal an der Bar war freundlich und hat unsere Bestellung aufgenommen. Da wir zuvor schon in einem anderen Pub ein Bier getrunken hatten, wollten wir was ohne Alkohol. Für mich wurde es ne Sprite und für meine Freundin eine Diet Coke. Danach kriegten wir jeweils einen Ständer mit einer Nummer, welchen wir zu unserem Tisch mitnehmen sollten. Es ging nicht lange da hatte meine Freundin schon ihr Essen. Wir hatten beide was von den Daily Specials genommen. Sie Mac 'n' Cheese und ich Spare Ribs mit Chips und Salat. Beides war lecker und sättigend. Für den Salat gab es jedoch keine dazu passende Salatsauce sondern man musste sich aus Saucen Box (Wo auch Ketchup und Co. drin waren) eine passende fix-fertig Salatsauce wählen. Das war das einzige was ich etwas Schade fand. Grundsätzlich waren wir mit unseren Besuch hier soweit zufrieden.

Nice spot on the South Bank. Good selection of beer and wine. Great seating outside and inside and a friendly staff. The only negative I have is that the pizza was, truly, the worst I’ve ever had.

We had been in here before, a long time ago and remember it as cheap drinks and busy. We were unsure if it was open as there was nobody outside but we could see people inside. Not a large menu but sufficient. We had a Caesar salad with chicken and blue cheese salad with a side of houlomi fries. Large portions, great taste and very fresh. Had to have pint of Pride and daughter had a couple of Aperol spritz, 2 for £12, and a J2O. £43 in total. Friendly staff, good service, even if they forgot to put the chicken on the Caesar salad, quickly resolved. A good place for a sunny lunch to watch the world pass by.

We went to grab a pub meal. The nachos came out no cheese and covered in a green sauce that was meant to be guacamole, so many great places to eat in the area, don’t risk it.

Nice atmosphere, good drinks but the day's special, scampi, chips and peas was a let down,all ingredients seemed to be the cheapest possible, having said that it WAS cheap!

We came in late, and despite bring a Saturday there weren't many people. Staff wax friendly and we were ordered the food quickly, in order for the kitchen to prepare before closing. We had 2 x Fish & Chips and 2 x Chicken burger. Fish tasted as it was prepared from frozen and the burgers were dry - both chicken and buns. So go there for the good local brew, not the food.

This is a busy well stocked pub with great food . The menu is traditional and well worth the money . You get really good sized plates , and it has a great ambience and happy atmosphere . Some tables are on the terrace with heaters . The bar is really well stocked with fantastic varieties of everything .

What a fantastic Christmas lunch we all had. Thank you to everyone who helped on the day. Over thirty of us and the meal was hot and plentiful. Staff were so accommodating. A really memorable lunch, ambiance and special people. My choice was salmon parcels, Turkey with masses of trimmings, chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. Delicious. Thank you

Kudos to the folks at the PWH. ten of us in London for a Saturday night and hadn't booked a restaurant. These guys saved the day and reserved an excellent table for us. We had a great night and as is said often about this pub, the staff are the best aspect

Excellent pub, plenty of outside space, good lager(camden). Food, handmade pizza, fish and chips really good stuff. Best thing about it excellent staff. Can't fault it. Dont pass it visit.

We went for lunch, amazing price for Central London. Just a 5 min walk from Blackfriars station ( Southbank side) I had a beautiful Tuna & egg salad for under £10, and my husband had a chicken wrap & fries for £5, plenty of food, freshly cooked and really delicious! This pub has a large inside space, conservatory and outside area with cover so plenty of choice. Really good range of drinks at excellent prices for the location. Staff are all absolutely lovely and very efficient. The cocktails are very good value and the real ale well kept. Suitable for couples, and any group as they cater for every taste. It is my 'go to' pub in the area. Haven't tried the food but it all looked good and we saw empty plates returning to the kitchen. Worth booking a table. It is COVID safe. As with most places you pay in advance if sitting outside. Would recommend.
