Ambiente agradable, personal amable, buena comida. Mi segunda visita aquí, solo café y pastelería por primera vez, así que pensé que probar algo caliente esta vez. Acabo de tomar un café que sabía un poco raro, pensé que tal vez la leche estaba mal o algo así, así que le conté a la camarera sobre esta situación. The owner is very rude, the employees are clearly treated disrespectfully by their boss so the atmosphere is miserable. The food is average.

I was in the café when the owner accosted a young woman who was with clients. The owner interrupted the young woman's meeting and created a very unpleasant atmosphere. I won't be returning to Chatica after watching this aggressive behaviour.

He visitado este restaurante hoy. El personal del turno de la mañana, muy miserable, te da la impresión de que te están haciendo un favor. Compré algunas arepas para llevar, pero decidí pedir un jugo de guanabana. Fue horrible. Muy decepcionante. Hay algunos lugares en Elephant que compiten con ellos, así que ten cuidado.

Un salto aquí temprano tentempiés por la noche. Tenía una mezcla de gente y nosotros. Elija su comida en el mostrador y que llegará a la mesa después de que ha sido recién cocinado. Hay una pequeña tienda y congeladores en la parte trasera donde se pueden comprar algunos de los ingredientes. Volveremos para algunos platos principales la próxima vez que estemos en la zona. Un buen lugar para sentarse y observar a la gente.

Very delicious little Colombian place off the beaten path. My friend and I both had arepas con chorizo and were not disappointed. Service was very friendly, and the cappuccinos were some of the best I've ever had.

They were extremely rude and refused to help. I stood outside in case it was a misunderstanding. I would not go there again

Chatica tenía el mejor café que probamos en Inglaterra. Una vez que probamos Chatica, fuimos todos los días para el resto de las vacaciones. El precio era bueno, estaba cerca de nuestro hostal y el café y el desayuno era delicioso. Además, el personal fue muy amable.

I absolutely love coming here for breakfast/brunch, I work nearby and this is my favourite place. The Calentado breakfast is amazing and I could eat it every day of the week!

Stopped here a number of times whilst having meetings at Elephant Park. The food served is first class, very friendly staff, great atmosphere and very reasonable prices. If you haven't been, go there now!

Este es uno de los mejores lugares colombiana en Londres. No me malinterpretéis, no es extraordinario, pero los lugares colombianos no son realmente lo mejor de lo mejor (Im colombiano, así que sé lo que estoy hablando)

Have been here a few times since this opened a few years ago. Food is normal, nothing wow but is extremely over priced and not fresh at all, some food is sitting there for a few good days before finally sold. Staff not very well trained, they lack good customer service, but the owner is the worst I have witnessed on a couple of occassions how this lady treats her poor staff, as they also sell Latin products I was on the kitchen side and overheard the owner telling 2 of the staff off quite loudly, saying in spanish "thanks to you both we have lost prestige in this place, I dont want to be loosing it anymore, I am going to start looking for someone else to work" basically she was threatening them, I doubt she realised how loud she was speaking and that a few of us were listening. Another time this same lady (owner) refused to allow any of her staff bring the food to a polish guy who was sitting outside, she said to the staff, "let him come and get it himself"

Always stop here when I am in Elephant and Castle. Friendly staff and love the corn bread and scrambled eggs! A big selection of snacks and breakfasts.

Service average, but food was good. Nice atmosphere, columbian feel to it, best place to have a coffee or breakfast around that area in elephant and castle.

I really like their empanadas and pan con queso! You can also try their Pony Malta one of my favourite drinks! Always very friendly service!

Delicious food, lovely staff and customers , serving home made fresh Colombian dishes and treats, lots of stock/ home cooking produce. Got to practice my Spanish,well worth a visit.

Service is about average but the food is good and the shop section has many Colombian treats that are only available in a handful of other places my wife and I have been to.I must give them a special mention for honesty as on one occasion when we bought some food to take home and they forgot to pack some of the meat we asked for, they didn't hesitate in acting on a voicemail I left and issued a refund to my payment card.

I've been to Chatica a few times for breakfast, they do great coffee by the way, and it's always had a selection of Latin American's and students eating there which gives it a nice buzz.The food isn't too bad and typical street food from South America; the arepas are peculiar though and not at all like what we're used to. They do a great snack though which is rice and potatoe loose inside a large round fried ball - especially nice with hot sauce! I'd recommend :)

I usually go to La Chatica when I'm in Elephant , it is the best place to sit down as they usually have empty tables. Service is bad, none of the waiting staff speak good English! And they don't know how to smile neither. They are unable to understand even their own menu!Local has too many tables and chair, looks crowdy even when is empty.Food is only ok, I have tried better Latin food. It has potential to be better, give it a try if you are around.

I've eaten here a couple of times the food is ok but the staff seem to be always rushing and not smiling. On my second visit here I could see why! The boss was being very rude to all the staff. There wasn't a problem until she came in shouting at everyone at the top of her voice. everyone could hear it. You could see the staff rolling their eyes at each other as if to say here we go again!This women had no shame and I felt sorry for the employees who all looked young. People shouldn't have to work in an environment like this.It totally ruined my experience. Don't eat here!

I came here today to meet one of my friends as we are both students in London. I could not believe how friendly and welcoming the staff were-everyone smiled and greeted us despite the fact that the cafe was busy. A man started playing Columbian music, which my friend and I really appreciated! We had hot chocolates and traditional pastries, which were all lovely. However, what really does this place justice is the staff. Will definitely be returning with my friend, we have decided to make this our venue for weekly meet-ups!

Stands out from other south American places in the area for its well presented and clean atmosphere. service is a bit slow though. Lovely pan de queso y pan de bono. try tortilla espanola. yummy

When't there with my boyfriend to show introduce him to Colombian flavours as he is English and I'm taking him to Colombia in September asked for two empanads, the boy who took our order told us to sit and he would bring it to us, almost half an hour later still no empanadas, I could see them though already made I just wanted them on my table! look around and I can see the boy unpacking boxes completely forgot about us, I reminded him he told the ladies to bring it to us waited a bit longer and she dumbed it on our table no apology :/ ...The empanadas where good though.

Recently been there to eat arepas, chorizos and empanadas. Unfortunately not the best taste as it ince was and overly priced too. Service was extremely slow to say the least.

I suffer from Coeliac disease, so I'm intolerant to gluten. My nutritionist told me about this place, that bakes gluten free breads- delicious and most importantly flavoursome, I've never tried Colombian food before but I'm now a convert....also a must is their corn made empanadas with the chilli source.

I live in Cambridge, I was missing Colombian home cooked food until my colleagues told me about Chatica in Elephant and Castle. On my 1st visit the food was cooked fresh and it tasted like authentic Colombian dishes and the atmosphere was buzzing. The place was packed out and we had to wait for our table. I'm going back to get more of the pan de bono's and the Colombian cheese....I cant believe they make their own Colombian cheese.

I have been to La Chatica a few times for lunch and for some raison on my last visit Friday 31 October 2014 the service failed completely. There were not a lot of tables 4-5, I order and seat while waiting for my food to come. Some other tables come after me, all Colombian and all were served before me?? I had to stand and ask if the food got lost on the way. I don’t get it, 4-5 tables and lack of attention or consistency on the service. It makes you wonder…

at long last I've found an authentic Colombian bakery, the smell of the baked cheesy breads are amazing. Their empanadas are delicious....I must have eaten about 8 of them, I had it with some fresh berry juice they made that day. I cant recommend this place enough....Probably the nicest eatery in elephant & castle!!

This cafe sells the most typical Colombian food. So if your are from South America and want to try Colombian food with a nice coffee this is the place. For those visiting or living in London and never have tried Colombian food, I do recommend this place. Friendly people, friendly prices and just enjoy it. I come here at least 3 times a month .

Being Colombian, i was looking for a place where they sell 'tamales' which is a typical breakfast in Colombia. I finally found this coffee shop and they sell delicious tamales!! They also do normal breakfast and lunches. As a coffee shop they also have their own bakery and they make bread everyday. If you are not Colombian but want to taste something really good, try the breads they made. They are heavenly! Colombia is a country that knows how to bake bread.Recommended for colombians and foreigners who like to taste different foods.

Went here for breakfast because a few friends recommended it. I didn't expect much and boy was I surprised! The arepas and empanadas and especially their chili-sauce were to die for. The coffee was great and the service was friendly. If you're ever in London I recommend travelling from a far to visit this great little café.

I have been to this cafe for brunch more than 20 times since it started business. I love the atmosphere, their great coffee and tasty food. We have tried every food on display. Calentado la Cahtica is my favorite for brunch; steak, eggs, rice with beans and arepa.

The one with authentic and most varied groceries and bakery products; after trying Brixton market, la Bodeguita and others I finally found this place with all the bakery I miss from Colombia. Bocadillo, pandebono, arepas, etc.

I was on my way to the better know Colombian restaurant in Elephant Castle while trying to find parking for my car I found Chatica and I was not disappointed . Lovely food , lovely setting , brilliant selection of food and very reasonable price!! I will be back!

I used to live very close to Elephant & Castle and I would go here every other weekend with my husband for our calentado! Absolutely fresh and delicious. Pastries are really nice too! I just hope they keep it up...

Coffee is a let down, the fresh breads and Colombian pastries are delicious . Service is efficient and friendly. Most of the clientele is Latin, so it is a good sign.

We visited this restaurant on a rainy Saturday with a Colombian friend for what he described as an authentic and delicious Colombian experience and he was absolutely right!! We had a variety of savory and sweet items, everything was cooked to order and absolutely fresh. The breakfast plate was really tasty and the cafe con leche was really strong and bold. I would recommend this place not only for the food but the overall ambiance, people having a good time and enjoying themselves in a warm and inviting setting.

I found this funky place by accident, probably the nicest and cleanest restaurant to eat in Elephant & Castle.The empanadas were delicious and crispy, I tried the beef one's with their chilli source, with a tropical smoothie to drink. For starters I had the cheese breads from their bakeries.It had a nice warm atmosphere playing Colombian music in the background. Highly recommend this place.

This place does the best quality calentado I can find in London,always busy, food is cooked fresh to order... great prices! a real gem if you love all things Colombian!
