Excellent carvery choice, nicely cooked and plenty of variety. Friendly and helpful staff.

Food was bang on and plenty full,only issue was no real ales so didn't have a beer as the other choices were the usual lager n ciders which I can't stand,shame as the pub has nice decor,friendly staff and decent grub

Absolutely brilliant. Wasn’t sure what to expect when we walked in. Received a warm welcome and then nice drinks, followed by amazing food. The highlight of my night was the perfect portion of ketchup I received (see picture). Will definitely be visiting again soon. Great experience. P.S. I did actually use all the ketchup too.

Christmas lunch here was amazing. Great value for money with a lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. We will 100% be booking next year.

Food was nice - but as this was a Christmas dinner, I was disappointed on a number of things: 1. Wasn’t until an hour into our booking that we finally got our starter. 2. Had to ask for cutlery twice. 3. A table that wasn’t laid out like it’s Christmas I.e. crackers, cutlery salt and pepper, napkins etc. 4. Where was the Christmas music? 5. Decided to eat dessert as a take-a-away which they kindly did but had to wait an eternity for it. Overall, it was a miserable experience. This is a Christmas dinner and it should be an experience to sell your restaurant not a complete disappointment with a miserable atmosphere. The local homeless shelter put on a better show. very much regret spending our hard earned money here

First Christmas day, eating out with the family & we were not disappointed. Lovely welcoming atmosphere good service despite being fully booked out. All the staff doing their best to provide a great day for families. Food was delicious, hot and fresh. We were in the first sitting 10-2 and will definitely recommend. We visited for our yearly sea cadets party. Cheryl always looks after us from start to finish. The kids love the carvery and the desserts and always ask to come back every year.thank you Cheryl and the team your all amazing.we will see you next year.

Absolutely amazing experience. Had a party in the private function room and the staff were absolutely amazing. Cheryl and Lewis were amazing and treated everyone really well. Carvery was amazing as always and puddings were even better. Can't wait to book the party again for next year.

We are regulars at The Prince William. Always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. We took a 3 couples for a meal on the 19th November. Everyone enjoyed their carvery. Lovely hot food, cooked perfect, plenty of choice. They all said they would go again. Well done to Cheryl the manageress and all staff.

Food was lovely and Jamie went out of his way to make sure everything was right which was much appreciated.

Came here for a family meal, the service was amazing and staff was so lovely and helpful especially the girl on the bar think she was called caitlan , however when it came to the food it was awful we had the pizzas and burgers but they didn’t taste right and then had the sticky toffee pudding it wasn’t edible rock hard and very stingy with portion sizes ! The atmosphere was very quiet for a Saturday night which makes you realise why when the food and carvery is awful I really wouldn’t recommend going for food but drinks are lovely , won’t be back for a long time , it is a real shame gone down hill with food we used to like coming here !!!

Stayed in Castleford for a training course and had the pleasure of having the Prince William right next door to the hotel. Food was great (even got a cheeky wee half off deal for the pizza which was a bonus) and the staff were awesome (particularly Katie and Cheryl who served me). If I ever somehow end up back in Castleford I'll be sure to come back 👌

Staying at the Ibis and its the perfect pub next door. Food is always great here and staff very lovely. Just what i needed after a long day at work and before going back to my hotel room.

Went on a quiet Thursday night. Service was brilliant, still served with a smile even though we ordered quite late, after a reportedly busy evening. Conversed with one of the waitresses/bartenders (small brunette lady, did not get her name unfortunately!)and she couldn’t have been nicer/more helpful. Thank you! 🤩

I've been here 3-4 times now for Sunday carvery. Every time it has been quite busy, and when you try the food, you can easily understand why.. I usually have the roast beef, which is always very succulent and tender, very tasty. And you can tell the meat juices are used in the gravy as well. There's a great selection of vegetables, and meat. And I would say it was reasonably priced for the quality of the food. We never had to book for a table, I've never had any trouble getting seated whatever time of day, it's quite big, but you're also not squashed in, with a nice relaxing family atmosphere. Also, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, too.

Not too busy, giving staff time to look after you. Carvery was excellent with plenty of meat per portion, unlike similar establishments that cut it paper thin! No rush to vacate our table was appreciated as we had elderly relatives with our group. Will be back👍👏

Had a really nice breakfast here this morning, my husband and I visited as it’s his birthday. We were served by a lady called Cheryl, she was super friendly and helpful. Very nice experience and this is our second visit - we will definitely be back again!

I was part of the team when this branch reopened as the Stonehouse, which was about 8-9 years ago ish. Came back today for a carvery on my day off and Cheryl made sure my experience was enjoyable. Food wise and staff everything’s good and pretty much the same as when I was here. If I was to pick out flaws or things for improvement; Sitting in the vicinity of the ice cream machine is a tad annoying as it’s just so loud. Also the leather on the booth chairs has pretty much disintegrated, so more a comment for M&B if they are wanting to reinvest and whip up some new seat covers. All in all though it’s a nice place which is why I continue to come back from time to time.

From walking in and being warmly welcomed it felt very friendly and homely. The delicious aromas made my mouth water. We were served by Alan for our main meal, very friendly. For our sweet, we were served by Brandon who knows his job and certainly doesn't have you hanging around. Our server was the likeable, Evan. Very sociable, chatting and friendly. He enquired if we had enjoyed our meal, and was prompt at clearing away. (I hope you enjoyed a delicious pizza after your shift, Evan.) We look forward to a meal and hopefully your company again. Lovely Sunday carvery. Food was hot, good choice of meats and vegetables. Place was kept clean. Staff were friendly. We managed to get a table even though we hadn’t booked but there was only 2 of us. It was quite busy.

When we got there, the carvery wad out of food, myself and my sister-in-law ordered the finger lickin chicken, it wasn't freshly cooked and it was mostly burned and lukewarm. Our husband's had burgers and chips. They believe thst the burgers were warmed up in the microwave.

Lovely food, the carvery was full of taste and wasn’t dry which is very hard to get in most places, my partner got pizza which was very fresh and tasted amazing, our server caitlan was very welcoming and attentive, always had a smile and was a very polite woman and was lovely towards my son aswell! And recommended getting him a “baby bowl” for only 99p, We will definitely be returning.

The food was lovely also. Will be returning you don’t often see many servers that actually enjoy their jobs anymore but this visit definitely changed my mind. Fantastic food, very friendly staff

Came here after seeing a post about the pub on Facebook. We had a starter of nachos, followed by a Traditional Carvery, Pizza and Chicken Burger. We all throughly enjoyed. The staff were friendly and attentive. The pub was nicely decorated. And I believe it is dog friendly so will have to bring my dog on the next visit. I only managed to get a pic of my carvery as everyone was already tucking into their meals.

Decent prices, service was good, atmosphere was good.
