Ordered the new S'mores hot chocolate today, i had it as a take away but it was awful and only put one marshmallow. You would think if it's S'more they would use fluff and toast it. Expensive and crap!

The coffee was really tasty but how can there be no vegan options in 2024?

Not the best place we've been to.

Got a triple shot cappuccino with a sprinkle of chocolate and it was really nice tasting coffee from here. The food was not too bad priced and was very nice. They also have a very large choice of buns that are very reasonably priced and are amazing, loaded with caramel in the middle of the buns.

We have been coming here for years but I am shocked we have been over charged and they refuse to refund us. We got the offer 3 muffins and get 1 free however they charged us for 4. When I questioned this I was told this offer only applies to take out however this is not stated anywhere. This is false advertising. If you want this offer make sure you say to staff muffins are for take out but rest of the food is for eating in.

went to the White rose branch on thursday the 4th of july.I have to say i was dissapointed with the hygene of the Manageress,She coughed in her hand over our food and never washed her hands then proceeded to make our coffees picking up the cups without cleaning her hands i find this disgusting especially from the manageress who should no better,Then 10 minutes later the manageress was arguing with a customer i heard the customer say to the manageress that she was very rude,I will not be visiting this establishment again after this standard of hygene.

Nice little shop that never gets too busy. Food and drinks are always nice. Staff are always nice and it's always clean. There's also loads of tables so you don't have to worry inside and out

Just stopped off here for a snack on our journey home from Salford and was very impressed. Lovely ham and cheese toasties, absolutely loaded with cheese and a proper pot of tea. Very reasonably priced too.

Ordered a chai latte and some food. Food was spot on. My drink was made a little strong so hadn’t drunk much of it and the server kindly came over as I was leaving and offered a weaker one to go. Great service, I’ll definitely be back as the second (weaker) chai latte was perfect.

Good coffee, lots more staff than previous so you get served much quicker than other big coffee chains and good flavour too.

Both the seats (remnants of a pastry) and the mug (crusted chocolate around the edge) were terribly unclean. The place would be fine it were cleaner.

Had a lunchtime sarnie & drink whilst on a shopping trip with my bestie. Sandwiches all pre-prepared so couldn't alter or add to in anyway, like extra salad. Tea only in a mug with a t-bag, and get uour own milk. Tea pots would have been nicer. Slightly overpriced maybe, but only other choice was Greg's or Costa. We had to sit outside as all the tables were full.

Love this place. Visited many times when we go to Castleford. Great staff, service is quick. A good choice of sandwiches and cakes. Very clean.

I meet up with friends and we are always welcome, we have lovely coffee or hot chocolate there the cakes are very tasty.

Never again, I visited this cafe for lunch today and had to pay 80p for a jug of hot water for my black coffee to make it weaker. I actually thought it was a joke until I asked a member of staff and she confirmed that it was company policy. Needless to say I wont be going back.

First time here she although very expensive the sandwiches we had and got chocolate was very high quality. Highly recommended

Reasonable choice of different types of sandwiches, cakes and drinks. Well made coffee, not too strong. Seating outside for nicer days, but under cover.

Lovely coffee,had a baguette realy fresh and tasty and my grandson gobbled up his cookie.

I dad a chicken tikka baguette, a apple cinnamon muffin and a latte and the wife had a cherry coconut muffin and a cappuccino. We also got a couple of coconut slices to take away, cost about £25 all in which isn't bad considering everything's going up, will definitely be back!!! 👍👍

Personally I feel this place is way overpriced. A gluten free cheese and ham toastie (and we are talking about the small Warburton's bread, nothing fancy or special) is £5.25, no salad garnish, no coleslaw or a few crisps etc just a toastie on a napkin. Please be aware you are given one very small butter for normal toast, the normal bread is white and like a bloomer so bigger than normal. One butter covers half if you are lucky. I asked for two more to be told they are 40p each for extra butters! The poor waitress told me her hands are tied it's what the manager had stated. I got the impression this is a regular request. In the end I got my butters for free from the manager when I stated I'd already paid £5.25 for a small toastie, and toast and a coffee and at over £15 I was not going to spend anymore on butter that is clearly needed. This is really such a lovely and busy place, the staff, including the manager are all lovely too. I will go back but just for a coffee.....unless my small toastie has garnishes to warrant the price 😏.

Called in whilst family went to the dentist. Toasted tea cake was very welcome as was the hummus.

Despite spending over £20 here on drinks and food for 3 people they made us pay money so we could get some hot water for my baby nephews bottle. Absolutely disgraceful. Won't be coming here again.

Excellent muffins, great Gluten Free selection too

The sandwich was supposed to be cheese and onion. But it had hardly any cheese but was full of onions. Worst sandwich l have ever had .the coffee was very nice..

I went in for a coffee wirh my daughter and granddaughter and was pleasantly surprised. The selection of baguettes was great, we had the seafood and my granddaughter chose a chirizo and cheese toastie. The Muffins were to die for. I've never seen such a great selection beating anything I've ever seen anywhere else. It was so good I went back the next day to try out different muffins. I had the raspberry and apple and my daughter had Sstrawberries and cream. Both amazing. The cafe was exceptionally clean and the staff were very friendly. I will certainly be returning next time I'm up in Castleford. Top marks.

It's the go to place at lunchtime when we go shopping. Usually busy but the food is good and good choice of muffins on offer.

Bought ice creams for the family and muffins (assorted pack of 6). The ice cream was really good - one of the best I have had. The ice creams were cheap (2 x double scoops; 1 x single scoop for £8ish) compared to the quality. I wish I could say the same for the very expensive muffins (£14) - they were dry and tasteless. The supermarket multipack muffins are better come to these.

Excellent coffee, sandwiches and a delicious selection of cup cakes, plus service with a smile. Exceptionally clean.

Three drinks and three muffins over £19, asked for more hot water for the tea, we would have to pay for it in a pot or free in a cup. Same water, in addition a health and safety risk. Come on, not a way to get repeat custom!!

The food and drink plus service I could not fault. The main issue is space. They have crammed in many tables to get as many customers in as possible. No room to swing a cat or another animal of choice.

Expensive for what you get. The toasted sandwiches were nice and tasty but the steak slice was mostly gravy and tasted of pepper. It cost just under £20 for two drinks, two toasted sandwiches and a steak slice. It was very busy and we had to wait for a table.

They do very good Gluten Free muffins very tasty.

Really enjoy going there...Nice views from premises..enjoyable coffees...nothing more needed when we visit J32
