This place had been the best pizza takeaway in Wakefield for years, but went very down hill for some reason a couple of years ago. We decided to give them a try again recently and found it to be a slight improvement, but still not back to it's previous heyday. Hopefully they'll stay on the comeback trail and get back to the level they once were.

Simply the best Pizza in Wakefield. Clear homemade flavoursome dough with delicious well seasons toppings and real cheese!

Ordered online on their website for collection and the building was empty and no lights on, it still took my money, will not order from them again they scam

Si very good place and reach products,but unfortunately is closed now for less personal reason.I hope to be open soon. Fortunately, this pizzeria is open again and pleases us with its pizzas.

Best pizzas in wakey, and they taste awesome and it’s how a proper pizza should be. A classic and not going over the top, would definitely recommend. Eat your heart out to the other takeaways!

Like a proper pizza should be. Soft and fluffy, not dry, done like asked. If ever been an issue been sorted straight away. Always use them and will always recommend

After a couple of average pizzas ive had from segundos over the last few months tonight i got one of probably the best pizzas ive ever had from them. Looks like they are back on form 🙂. Pizza was red hot, full of topping and had the slightly burnt base. Chips were decent too

I ordered a burger but was delivered lies. I've had more enjoyable bouts of diarrhea. It arrived with goodly haste but I was met with a culinary monstrosity. It had clearly been locked in a basement longer than Elizabeth Fritzl. Had this "burger" been in more beastly it would have been chased from town with pitchfork wielding, illiterate townsfolk.

Been going here since I was 15 years old. Now 27. Have to say ever since Mr Segundo left this place has gone down hill. They used to come with some char on and quite well done to make sure the dough isn't raw. Last 3 orders have been awful. Raw dough. And my last order they didn't even use mozzarella cheese and they didn't even bring the drink I ordered. Yet came to £17.40 just for 2 calzones. Have to say I won't be using this place for the foreseeable future which is a shame. It used to be the best place in Wakefield for a pizza and now that cannot be said. Will be finding somewhere else what cares about the outcome of their food.

Rang and ordered pizza, said ready in 15 mins. Went to collect, they asked my order, not even started cooking. They quickly threw together and cooked it. 20 mins later I left. Pizza looked like kids had made it (misshapen) and it was awful, it was just slop. In the bin 🤮 Never go here again and it's quite expensive too.

Soggy pizza brought us a wrong pizza had to wait 25 minutes for the right pizza and it was soggy won't be ordering from there again should of ordered from pizza hut

Been going to Segundos for years as it was THE best in town. Sadly, it has been going downhill for a while now and after tonight (ordered a Segundos Special), there was hardly any topping on and it was sloppy and it all slid off so was left with just base. So sad, but will just be getting an Aldi special next time.

Its not segundos!! And I can't believe they have the cheek to keep his name. The food is appalling, ask for well done burger it was barely cooked and soggy chips. Segundo would never have let anything like the food they're serving now leave his shop. Avoid if you know whats good for you.

Don't know how they have the cheek to keep the name that made this the best pizza/burger place in wakefield,the staff all need lessons in customer service and the food is appalling now,we asked for well done burgers they were just cooked and chips were soggy,we had had pizza the week before and it was burnt,thought we'd give them benefit of doubt but never again!They need to change the name and stop giving people the impression its what it was when segundo was there, he would never have let anything so disgusting leave his shop.

When it comes to pizza we like thin, crispy, classic Italian style. None of this chicken tikka and bbq base stuff. Just traditional pizza toppings such as olives, anchovies, pepperoni etc and this place does just that. Their margarita is so simple yet delicious also. They are tasty, prompt with deliveries and good value for an amazing pizza! Never go anywhere else now and trust me, we have tried many over the years!

Well I dont know whether Segundos has changed hands again but that pizza we just had was Awful. We have been having pizzas from there for years and I can say that really was the worst, sloppy and tasteless. For a Garibaldi it was just wrong!

Burnt pizza told staff not intrested .asked to speak to manager no one there ,please please avoid this shop was the best now worst

Excellent pizzas imo, love the burgers, 90% of the time I've got no complaints about the food, the other 10% is usually because the chips have gone soggy and the salad on the burgers is mushy simply because the delivery usually takes ages.

Been getting pizzas here for about 30 years after days/nights out in Wakefield, now under new ownership, lost the personal touch.

Oh dearie dear, the food from here used to be so good and now I want to cry. Our bolognese pizza was far too soggy on the top and the base was burnt - how does that happen? That takes culinary skill I guess but not the one I was looking for. It was to be blunt rather vile. We felt sick and didn’t finish it. What a shame.

I ordered a segundos special pizza doner kabab and chips very disappointing pizza cold and in a soggy box like it had been in there a while and burnt on the bottom doner kabab burnt and chips over cooked won't order for here again

been a regular since 2018 and standard got steadily worse and worse. Dreadful quality and tasteless. Such a shame for what I here was once a wakey institution. Much better pizza elsewhere now within the city.

Very disappointed,after i call 3 times i get my pizzas after one hour and half and i leave only one mile away.first pizza it was what i ordered and it was good,but the second one it was diferent then what i ordered and it was burn as well.after all this i pay more because the prices from their website are different then in reality.

It’s changed from being good to awful. Out pizza was burnt underneath and not cooked through. We both have yummy cramped

Just got a burger from here and it was spot on, been coming here for 20 odd years and even though Segundo has retired and sold it on it's still decent food. Note to new owners, success is partly down to reputation and Segundo built up the reputation of quality first class food every single time, you bought the business and the name so do it proud and dont let the standards slip.

I’ve used this establishment for the last thirty years. It always been fantastic. Then the great sergundo sold the place And retired, what a bloody same. The guy who owns the establishment now is friendly. But he knows nothing about cooking a good pizza. I went to night to collect a 12 inch thin and crispy spicy beef with jalapeños. This pizza as always been my favourite. However when I collect it , I opened the box and found it had not one jalapeño on it. It was disgusting. When I rang to tell him he never even apologised. He said Ho drive back to the shop and I will put some jalapeños on it. I said I’m half way home and let’s face it you should have put them on while baking it. This place has gone down hill fast fast. No more for me. Kev.

Hi Been going there for 11 years, food was nice, good quality and good taste, but now it’s terrible . Quality of food is getting worse and worse with time. Last time when I ordered a CALSONE it was burned , I had to wait half an hour for it and after I opened it at home had to take it back! No apologies, full disrespect for customers.

Well. This place used to be the best pizza takeaway for miles around. So much has now sadly changed. New owners Terrible standards. Placed our usual order and the young girl on the phone advised that they were under new ownership (it said closed on Internet?) Food came after about an hour which was OK but when it arrived, oh how things have changed. We ordered a Calzone which basically consisted of piazza base, some filling of a bit of ham, a few mushrooms and some pepperoni. Think there was some garlic sausage in there but some unmelted and cheap tasting cheese. But what was missing was any tomato base which left the whole thing dry and tasteless. The other two pizzas were not much better. Poor quality. Stodgy base, limited toppings and quite simply the worst one we have ever had. Rang up to give feedback to be greeted with “I’ll let the manager know”. No apology Nothing! We will NOT use segundos ever again I wish the previous owner all the best in his retirement.

Extremely disappointed after ordering last night. We used to use segundos until the original guy retired and standards rapidly went down hill. Me and my partner order the same thing EVERY time. I ordered my partner a meat feast pizza for him to turn up and they had made a pepperoni pizza. From what my partner has said it sounds like they were blaming us for changing our minds which is not the case AT ALL. Forgot my sauce so had to go back in for it. The lad on the phone had no clue whatsoever so I'm not surprised our order was wrong. No apology of any sort. Totally unprofessional and has put me off altogether. Such a shame because my pizza was lovely, they just shoved a bit of meat on my partners AFTER it was cooked so almost tasted raw. Disgusting! 🤬

Took 1hour 20 minutes for a very stodgy meat feast pizza to be delivered which was bland in taste. Not to my taste. Will stick with Square Pizza House at Sandal. You live and learn

Used to love this place but last night I ordered a pizza and was told an hour and it was an hour and 20minites... it's only about a 15minute walk from my house. When it came the the pizza and chips were over cooked and tastes burnt.the bace of the pizza was so hard, like cardboard, if I wasn't so hungry and tired I'd of tried to get my money back Very disappointing!

Placed an order burgers were off called them asked for them to sort it in the 45mins it took them to bring it we were that hungry we ate the chips she finally came with a margarita pizza wanted me to pay for pizza even though id spent over £10 and burgers and chips caused a massive scene infront of family and friends so ended up with no pizza no burgers and out of pocke BE WARNED

Order every Sunday to complement a film of some type for years now and each time the pizzas have being spiffing and if there has being a problem the staff always rectifie it the next week without any fuss, the delivery drivers are always friendly and up for a bit of banter and usually interested in what film I'm watching this week haha, the dude who now owns the joint has not kept the traditions of Segundos perfectly and should be very proud of the great establishment he's maintained, thank you Seggies and here's to many more pizzas and movies

Gave this place a try as nearby and had heard good things. My wife and I both had different pizzas. They were slightly over cooked and the cheese tasted quite salty. Don't think we will be rushing back.

Always loved the quality of food from Segundo's its delicious and well made. However when I called to ask about my delivery after waiting 1.5 hours, I was very unhappy with the manner in which I was spoken to. They had taken the wrong street name and tried delivering to another address and after explaining that no one had knocked on my door, it was finally noted that the address was wrong. They did then get my order to me very promptly and threw in a free slice of cake. Might I suggest taking phone numbers with orders so that misunderstandings like this can be avoided.

The place is clean and tidy and the staff are polite and friendly, I've been going there on and off for 20 years and the food never disappoints.there burger deluxe is really nice and there pizzas are definitely the best around.ive tried most pizza takeaways in Wakefield and they are no match for taste and quality of Segundo's.

The best pizza takeaway in Wakefield by far. I have been using Segundo’s since they first opened back in the 80’s. Segundo is a great character with bags of enthusiasm and skill. He takes pride in his recipes and instills his passion into his staff. All round an amazing 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience. Great delivery service, quality food and an atmosphere in the shop that is usually reserved for restaurant service. I highly recommend this jewel of a takeaway to anyone who enjoys authentic pizza and pasta.

It's perfect everytime. You guys know what your doing and your doing a great job. It's the only place to go if you want a proper pizza. Great friendly staff. Well done :)

The service in the take-away was brilliant the range of foods on the menu catered for a varied range of peoples eating tastes.My wife and myself had a large mixed meat Pizza which was tasty and full of meats.There wasn't a single slice left if that isn't a compliment I don't know what is.The business has just changed Management and it is clear to see that the New owner certainly have a grasp on quality and standards

I have been coming here for 7 years, pizzas are always fresh with plenty of top quality ingredients and Italian herbs. I have to say they do best beef, chicken fillet burgers and chips in Wakefield. I’ve been searching for ages to find a decent pizza place in wakefield as there are loads of shocking places around, but segundos is definitely up there with one of the best pizzas I’ve had!! Decent size and amount of fillings and all the staff are really nice not like your typical takeaway staff (I ordered to collect and my order was ready within 20 minutes ) don’t believe the bad reviews everyone has their opinions but you’ve got to try it to see for yourself. Will be my regular takeout from now on.

Ordered a doner meat pizza from here, doner kebab didnt taste rubbery like most other takeaways when i order. Meat was fresh, cheese was plentiful and the service was good. I highly recommend this takeaway for anyone coming to Wakefield, well worth the price.

A client took me to Segundos after a meeting. He travels there for miles and I see why. Really tasty pizza with loads of topping. I’ll definitely be going back again. Highly recommended.

since the new owner has taken over, when I have been in they've called him Alex, although when I went in once they called him Elbrus and I was about to write this review to find he wrote his own review... which I think explains itself. from what I saw it put me off going back period. I ordered a meatball pizza and chips, because the old owner used to put a good amount of meat balls on the pizza, but I was shocked the new owner cut all of the meatballs in half making it look like you got more, right after a price increase as well! seems that as the prices go up the quality goes down. Since he has taken over I have seen more of the old staff disappear, which is a true shame as he has replaced them with people who cook raw chips and serve them, where as I remember them with a good crisp and well cooked. whilst I was waiting i saw him clean the table of flour residue I think it must have had some cheese in because he put it in the cheese tub, which I guess that's because its his profits slipping away if he throws it away. Now it seems that there always in a rush to get you out of the shop. it is a true shame this business used to be one of the best pizza joints in Wakefield where the owners cared about the quality of food not the profits and scamming people with a name that used to hold the symbol of quality, truly despicable. you wont see me again it has just got to the point where I have had to find a different pizza place, i'm not paying a lot for a pizza that is flat and has barely any toppings on it.

ordered a margarita pizza and 1 portion of fries on a Thursday night was told an hour to deliver... after 1:15 mins called to see when I would receive the pizza. To then be told that it was only just being put in the oven!!!! order cancelled now what a joke!!!

I have been holding off writing a review for a while as I regularly go to Segundos. Since it changed management the food has taken a nosedive. The chips are always undercooked, they used to be crispy now just raw inside. And the pizzas are always burnt and greatly reduced toppings. I am disappointed to say the least as it used to be my favourite take away. I now get my pizzas from Asda instead !!

Segundos has recently changed ownership to someone called Alex. When they changed ownership they also changed quality. Pizzas are now "cheap", they have removed toppings to save money and also changed quality of the base. I have been going there for over 20 years, but unfortunately no more, they make the worst pizzas I have ever tasted. If you want a quality pizza I would go somewhere else

Ordered pizza for collection. 2 pizzas and fries Very happy with the thin and crispy pizzas. There was plenty of cheese on there and herbs hooray for that you get some from certain places and they scrimp on both!

If you have never tried this place it's a must. They are the best takeaway place in Wakefield. Their pizzas and burgers are the best.

Classic well made pizzas by a real italian family Mr & Mrs Segundo. I have bee buying here for nearly 30 years. Its a pizza place where deep pan means deep pan and not just a thick base with the same amount of topping. Outstanding If your visiting Wakefield to do the famous westgate run, call i with your mates buy a pizza to share, you and your mates can have a slice of probably the best you will ever taste.

My family have been using segundos for over 20 yrs and i still love it today. The are very helpful and friendly and the food is superb. I recommend anyone to try them out, you will not be disappointed.
