Been in a few times. Food is reasonable. If you're not a sports fan you might think of another place for your drinking fix.

Excellent food, nice atmosphere and lovely staff. Bonus points for the customer parking at the back.

Good was partly cold, proseco not sparkling, serbice 6/10.

Real shame if this place closes for good. Great local pub and used by the community.

Terrible news that it is to close unless the community can save it as a community amenity - Turn up on Tues 16/1/24 and try to keep A proper pub in the area

We went to the local and was surprised to get id’d by a teenager. We offered a photo of the driving licence but were turned down. Now my problem is not with the fact she id’d us, she was just doing her job, but it was blatant enjoyment of being superior. This girl did not look old enough to work in a pub but yet the air of arrogance she carried with her she nailed like an aristocratic policeman on steroids.

Amazing Christmas dinner served by Katie and her staff, made a lovely effort, felt so welcome. Recommend to everyone

I just like the place. Has a brilliant beer garden, great choice of draft selection and shows multiple sports events if needed! When the sun's out, nowhere better to be!

ordered steak was cooked as requested but had horrible oily smell and was greasy. friends had the same and could not finish their meals for the same reason

It's our local, but won't be going there again. Had a fish pie and burger for mains. And rhubarb crumbles for dessert. Got sick during the night. This is the second time in a row that food was dodgy.

Held my Mothers Wake here. They cornered off the back of the restaurant which leads out to the garden for us which was lovely and felt private. The staff were courteous & respectful and were always on hand if needed. The food was really good, and so much of it, more than enough per head. At a obviously difficult time, everyone commented at just how nice the wake had been. Thank you to all the staff at The Prince of Wales

Great watering hole and a place to rest. Staff were nice and quick to serve. Clean and friendly. Sat outside. Clean area. Nice tables decor and umbrellas for shade. Nice decor inside to. Offering Christmas meal bookings in August

Lovely polite staff, clean pub and real community feeling. Dog friendly (one even has his own seat at the bar)! Nice music, decent wine selection. Haven’t eaten here but took my family and friends for drinks on Christmas Eve and they found space for us even though it was busy. Glad to have it as my local.

Our food was really good, steaks cooked to perfection. I think this pub will be great to visit during the week when it's less busy. Only complaint was that it smelt constantly like cigarette smoke even inside the restaurant due to the doors being open towards the garden where people are smoking.

After refurbishment place looks good, have been here few times for dinner but tonight was disappointing. I had the 10oz Ribeye steak which was not in my opinion 10oz but I ordered it medium, and it came burnt on the outside to the degree it tasted like charcoal & was really tough & chewy. I returned it & waited for around 15/20 mins for another steak but when it arrived it was exactly the same, small, burnt & tough. So disappointed ! So not value for money & gave up, will not be returning or if I do will definitely not be ordering steak again ! Other members of party had burgers which were fine. Food used to be much better though 😔

Very relaxing & comfortable seating.

I had a retirement party for 30 people last night. The buffet food was delicious and very good value. The quantity was very generous and the service excellent. Every member of my party commentated on the food & we all had a great evening. I would highly recommend it.

Very disappointed on our second visit.... First time we been there 22nd of June and were surprised how good service and atmosphere is ! Girl was working behind the bar she was amazing! Keeping everything under control. Second time we went yesterday 29th of June and we were shocked! All bar table full of empty glasses and boys working behind the bar ignored that. Being busy talking with their friends. Tables around us not being cleared... We quickly had one drink and went somewhere else. Very disappointed! Won't go there again. Its nice place but staff behind the bar don't know what they are doing...

My friend and I were there yesterday. Staff are friendly and nice. Unfortunately, I must give them a negative review. My one star review is coming from the two of us getting food poisoning. I almost threw up in the bus home as I was nauscious while my friend got diarrhea. I also got stomach issue today (still do) but my stomach reacts slowlier..

We ordered with my friend beef burgers and they were raw. My friend ask to cook more and they served the same one. Mine was half cooked and half completely raw. My daughter’s kid burger was over cooked, very hard. I was really disappointed. It’s a shame because is a nice pub. Clean and modern. But I won’t eat there anymore.

Excellent place to watch the rugby with friendly smiling staff

Prince of Wales Barnet is a very cosy place to chill out and unwind . The ambience is very nice and attractive with enough space to host a party, watch live sports and enjoy varieties of drinks , coffee and food. Prices are pocket friendly and the staff are very professional. I will visit there again soon, especially on the Friday DJ night.

Me and my husband went there on Monday about 12ish 26.12.22. We all ordered a pint and food. Unfortunately I forgot my physical ID. I had one on my phone but the lady serving didn’t wanna hear it. It was very unprofessional and I felt treated very unwelcome most probably due to the fact I was from another country. Will never be visiting again, on top of that the food I received was cold ( the rest of the group had it nice and warm) which was probably them trying to prove a point that I’m not welcome

Pub has been transformed. Some staff new but the regular staff still there.. Nathan is class. As mentioned in many reviews, Nath brings the personal element and the respect.. makes me feel at home. Thank you Nathan

Food was ok, not fabulous, one of us had to change our order as low on stock. Plates were not cleared away when we finished our meal. They were left on table for our whole duration there & still on table when we left. So service was poor.

Nice pub good for watching football but food disappointing £16.99 ribeye steak one onion ring no mushrooms they forgot them and hunters chicken overcooked first drink we had was nice 2nd one just didn’t taste nice shame as its put me off going back like to may be give it another try during the World Cup

Late review. Unfortunately the reviews regarding the rude manager are correct. Came In with a friend for a quick drink and was shouted at by this lady as we came in from the wrong way and then to be told they’re not accepting customers as they were closing - that’s absolutely fine however there were tables filled with people in and outside. This was my first time at this place. I decided to leave straight away - it was such a rude encounter that as I was walking outside with my friend, another colleague came running out to apologise for the managers behaviour. I hate to bring race into this but this was the only thing that differed from myself/my mate and everyone else in this pub. Having said that, after reading others reviews, it seems like the manager just doesn’t have the basic skills and etiquette to provide a reasonably decent customer service. How on earth you’ve managed to get a job in management is beyond me. Advice to manager - doctors are here to help. Support is available, just try not to shout when requesting your chill pills.

Decent drinks, very decent food and prices are fairly decent too. Would recommend the pork belly from the menu 😋 the garden area has been renovated recently and is nice

Update: Refurb and new screens everywhere for sport, perfect! Wings were nice and fairly priced too. Well done. ———- Our local pub for over 15 years. New ownership seem nice but I feel like I speak for many many people when I say please bring back the football, pool table and darts. When that was all stripped out 7 odd years ago it killed the vibe completely and gave us way less of a reason to come. Being the only pub around isn’t enough of a USP and I’ve noticed many going to The Tavern or Tally Ho in Finchley for sports etc. Missed opportunity.

We arrived for Sunday dinner at 3pm and ordered our food. I had ordered the roast beef which you could clearly see was the last of the meat all fatty and scrappy so I asked to send it back which the lovely waitress did but this confirmed my suspicion that it was the last scraps of meat which should not have been sent out. I was asked if I wanted a different meat option and asked for Turkey which had also run out. In the meantime my whole family had eaten their dinner and I was still waiting for an alternative meal for a really long time. Additionally as stated on the menu my husband ordered extra Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes and 30 mins later and after all plates had been taken away had still not arrived. Really Disappointing. Despite the inconvenience I was offered £1:20 to cover the difference instead of of a discount for the shambles which was explained as “we had a large number of orders” which wasn’t apparent And still An hour later I don’t have any food !

Just having a roast dinner and disappointed with portion size.Four very small potatoes. Rather soggy mushroom Wellington and very hard to raw carrots. Don't think I'll eat here again.

A regular haunt of ours but our first visit since the refurb finished. Furniture was much improved and the outdoor space looked clean and well structured. Food as always didn't disappoint and the service was fast and friendly. Recommend the landlord....that's the drink by Timothy Taylor not the person, but he/she is probably great too!

Booked (in may)the pub for the reception of my daughters christening in August, was asked to view the venue and confirm booking and pay deposit as soon as possible, which was done. They were chasing me for final numbers and food options last week, to be told today out of the blue at very short notice (a month) that they will be closing the pub for refurbishment. They have offered alternative dates which is no good as this is for a christening where the church has been booked and organised and the invites to guests have gone out, and I've received final rsvps. Not to mention this is a bank holiday weekend so finding a new venue will be extremely difficult, and expect the venue will lose a huge amount of business. (Starting to wonder if they are trying to run the pub out of business so they can turn it into flats or a tesco's)

What an amazing cozy pub with tasty food and super friendly staff. I don't even live in area but I would definitely come back for another lunch. Also my friend recommend dj nights saying its really good so next time I'm in Barnet I'm definitely coming here. Manager and assistant manager are very nice and helpful and you can see they really take care about their staff. I love going to places like that
