Miller & Carter in Barnet

Miller & Carter being a steakhouse I thought I would get a top quality steak and I didn’t. It didn’t even look appetising being pale (cooked medium) or tasted amazing. Ribs were also a disappointment as again, didn’t taste good. I enjoy more the ones I buy in the supermarket which I just need to put to the oven for 40 mins. I was happy with starters.

I've had to delete my previous good review as you can not post more than one on Google. My first gripe is that the menu has changed, so no more garlic mushrooms or basic veg to have with your steak. Also the Tiramisu has gone from the desserts menu which I found to be quite light after a heavy meal. The 2x 5oz steaks I received were of a completely different thicknesses, so one was cooked medium as asked, but the thicker one was well on the rarer side. The onion loaf was greasy and overcooked and looked like the scrag end. My wife had the salt and pepper Calamari, but it was very bland and did not seem to have any salt and pepper on it. Such a shame as I have enjoyed coming to this restaurant as it is close to home. I will be returning to the Brookman's Park restaurant next time.

Had a good experience at this M&C. Food was cooked as we wanted, sides were on point. Our waitress was polite and professional, she made sure we had everything we needed.

The atmosphere was very good, the waiter was kind, he just forgot to bring 1 starter, we were lucky he didn't bring it because we went on Sunday and they had a special menu for Sunday and the taste was perfect and the price was very affordable, it's a perfect place to go with the family.

Really enjoy this place. Staff are welcoming at entrance. Always nice to see staff there waiting to greet you rather than some places I've been to where you have to hang around for sometime at entrance for someone. Very nicely decorated place and large place. Big bar area. Good seating with low level lighting which I like. Service was good, friendly and efficient. We were served yesterday eve by a very polite and efficient Greek waitress, I should've taken her name! Great service. Food was very tasty. All in all a very good experience.

First time and I will not go back. My wife and I went out for dinner and the food was just okay, nothing special. We had the Burrata and king Prawns. Burrata was nice but the beetroot was hard and could have been sliced instead of just hard chunks. Kings Prawns were very nice even though they still have the head and tails on them. We also ordered the bread but this came out too late to use with the starters. This was again big chunks not nicely sliced. However the bone marrow & beef dripping butter was nice. For the main we ordered the BUTCHER'S BLOCK. Couldn’t tell the difference between the steaks. They came all piled together with a bone on top with no marrow not sure what that was for. They all tasted the same and it would have been nice to have been told what was what. The best part of the meal was the quarter of iceberg lettuce just dumped in a bowl with some dressing. You must throw a lot of this out. Waste of an order and looks so stupid. For dessert we ordered the CRÈME BRÛLÉE this was very nice and looked great, the other dessert was the STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING. This looked like it came straight out of a microwave and tasted the same. It came out so quick the waiter didn’t even have enough time to get the spoons ready. Total came to about £140.00, overall some of the food was nice but most was a let down, for that amount you would expect all of it to have been good or better. But you get what you pay for and I should have just gone to KöD or Gaucho. On a plus side the staff are nice and look after you well.

Delicious, high quality steak meals cooked to perfection! Not the cheapest but worth every penny. I had a 20oz T-bone steak with a beef dripping gravy and was in food heaven!! A fantastic place for a treat for meat lover! Highly recommended! Vito was out server and was fantastic. Service with a smile!

We had a beautiful meal, we had the butchers block and all 3 steaks were cooked perfectly for us (medium rare). Thank you so so much to the M&C team for making our Valentine’s Day so special!!! Rang up requesting something and the person who picked up the phone kept saying to me to check online, check online honestly what a awful customer service when asked about a specific cut of meat this is a “steakhouse” the colleague couldn’t give the phone to the chef and explain if they had that specific cut I asked for and shut the phone in my face👎

We attempted to walk-in one evening on 2 January. Upon doing so the young chap at the reception informed us with a straight face that they didn’t accept walk-ins. The place was half-empty…. We’re not caucasian. Make of that what you will. We spent our money at another branch of Miller & Carter who confirmed that there was no such policy of not accepting walk-ins.

Great food in a pleasant restaurant, with well presented and attentive staff. Marinela is to be commended and the Rare Treat available until 7th February was good value.

We attended the restaurant for a birthday celebration with 15 of us. Unfortunately this was not a positive experience. Steaks were served barely warm. Instead of sautéed greens these were in fact microwaved. The fish served was great so that’s a positive. Obviously the alcohol was great Service was great ok and our concerns were dealt with properly. Furniture is tired. It’s a shame as they did get the fish right and not the steak. Being a steak house that charge £41 for a ribeye you would expect a little more care being taken with the product reaching the table in a good time and HOT. Muswell Hill branch is much more organised something borehamwood branch should aim for.

Nice atmosphere, good service, and quality food. All fresh and on time.

Overall, the food was fantastic and certainly worth the price. However, there were a few areas where the service could be improved. For instance, we were seated indoors near the service area, even though there were other empty tables available. This made our experience a bit less comfortable. Additionally, while we appreciated the waiter’s attentiveness, we felt that the pace of taking our orders was a bit rushed, which affected our ability to fully enjoy our anniversary. With a few adjustments, this could be an even more enjoyable experience.

I love everything about this place. From the lighting to the music to the food and the services, this is one of my best dining experiences in the UK. Vito is the gentleman that attended to us. He was very patient and supportive in our choice of drinks, meal and desert. He knows his stuff. He’s a good conversationist with great sense of humor. He clearly loves his work and it shines in how he treated us. I came here with my brother. He also loved it here. I will be back here if I have a romantic date because it’s the perfect place to be.

Had such a lovely meal from this branch, we came down from Scotland to get a new car and popped in on the way home. We were greeted by our server Vito who was very warm and welcoming he looked after us throughout our experience and made sure we were well looked after. Steak was cooked to perfection. Was out with family and had a great experience, the food was on point and the service was exceptional. We were initially served by Mina who took our drinks orders and brought them promptly to the table. There after by Victor who was our server for the rest of the evening, delivering great service and knowledge of the menus.

We ate here tonight after recently getting married & the level of service, care & attention we were given by our server Maria and the other members of staff was truly next to none. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody sitting on the fence on deciding to visit, you truly won’t regret it.

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday as she fancied a steak dinner, and the online reservation process was quick and straightforward—a promising start. We ordered three starters, but unfortunately, they were underwhelming. The scallops, in particular, were overcooked, bland, and lacked seasoning. These came with three salads and a side, which turned out to be a big disappointment. The salad was just chunks of unseparated lettuce with a sprinkle of Parmesan on top. It felt as though minimal effort was made, and I couldn’t help but wonder if the lettuce was even washed properly. As a grill chef myself, I have a good understanding of food preparation, and the steaks we ordered were poorly cooked. They were severely undercooked—practically raw and bleeding. When I pointed this out to the waiter, their response was lackluster, merely offering to recook the steaks. By then, we had lost our appetite and requested to have the food packed up, only to feed it to our dog later. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected far better. My local pub delivers better food and service at a fraction of the price. This was a complete waste of money and a huge letdown for what should have been a special evening.

We recently had a large celebration event for a wonderful group of dedicated and amazing foster carers, and chose miller and carter stirling corner for our event. We were a group of 35 and our experience was just truly magical. Nothing was too much trouble for the general manager, and the two gentlemen who served the group were attentive, friendly, and by some miracle, all of our food came out quickly and effortlessly. The food is always delicious especially the ribeye steak. Cocktails are also really good and not over priced. Staff very helpful, friendly and welcoming. This is my Go To for Steak and it never disappoints.

Steak was cooked perfectly , chips and onion loaf were bit warm/cold. Lamb Rump was surprisingly very nice and tender. Excellent service from the staff who accomodated our needs. Will give it another try in the near future.
