The Prince George in Milton Keynes

A table of 9 for a birthday gathering. Everyone enjoyed the food. Full of flavour and can’t fault it. Staff were good and attentive Would return again and again

We went to The George as a family of 5 spread across 3 generations. We all enjoyed our meals and for once we all had dessert. We were served by Hollie and she made sure that we did not dehydrate as she checked regularly that we were ok for drinks. Enjoyable evening but could have done without the noisy people on the next table who were out enjoying themselves, how dare they?

Harry was lovely and very friendly. Food was really delicious, especially the nachos and steak. lovely decor and atmosphere, would definitely come again.

This is a lovely place to enjoy a lunch with friends or family. The menu has something for everyone and all our meals were tasty and generously portioned. The staff were extremely pleasant, friendly and efficient and the decor creates a welcoming atmosphere. Despite being a large spacious venue that caters for a big number, the tables were placed in a way that doesn't make it feel cramped or crowded. An ideal place for a weekday lunch!

Delicious food and great service. Can’t fault them. I had a free bottle of Prosecco for my birthday and enjoyed the Canadian chicken burger and the sticky toffee pudding.

Visited the Prince George with Friends for some drinks, the place is lovely, clean, the team is so friendly, especially Niamh, she is lovely and gives off amazing vibes! #GiveNiamhHerFreeDrink!

No disrespect to WD Wetherspoons but I have had better food there than at The Prince George. We ordered Hunter Chicken, it was dry tasteless, and missing everything you want in hunter chicken including a whole chicken breast. We visited about 6 months ago and again we didn’t have a great meal but we thought we would try again as it was a great pub pre Covid. We would definitely not visit again. Would rather go to Wetherspoons. The one good thing about it was the staff. Good customer service.

We had a meal for a birthday . Our waiter (Harry) was fantastic. He was kind, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Food was fantastic and even got extra custard with our dessert.

Another visit for Sunday lunch at the Prince George. Everything was delicious, piping hot and served by a nice smiley member of staff. Generous portions are a bonus! The best food for miles around. Although even though the food is really good It would be nice if the midweek al a carte menu was more varied.

We visited this location as a party of 8, 5 adults and three children, for dinner as a treat for my wife's birthday. We prebooked via the website and the following day received a 20% discount voucher. We all ordered starters, which were good, no complaints. However, the five main courses ordered for the adults, were sent back to the kitchen, all Sunday roast dishes, 3 chicken, 1 beef and 1 turkey. The food was cold and the Yorkshire puddings felt like they were still partly frozen. The food was then returned to the table and had obviously been microwaved to bring it all up to temperature and fresh hot gravey added. Still, the vegetables were undercooked and the chicken, which was supposed to be their speciality dish, rotisseried, was dry and stringy. The roast potatoes were soggy and tasted awful. The 3 children's meals, 2 mac and cheese and 1 chicken nuggets were fine, however again the chips with the nuggets were cold. So disappointed with the food, as we had been led to believe that this was a good venue to eat. The only positive points of our experience were, great wine, good starters and fantastic table service. Needless to say we will never return to this establishment, even after the 20% reduction, as the bill payer I felt ripped off. I do not recommend eating here, you will only be left dissatisfied.

My family and i went to the Prince George pub for Christmas Dinner , The starters and main meal were cold ! The roast potatoes, looked like they hadn’t even been cooked ! The whole experience was so disappointing! Would not recommend for Christmas Dinner ! We were a table of four and the bigger tables got more attention! We didnt even get asked for another drink ! So so disappointed!

I went yesterday with my rambling group of about 20 and it was just as disappointing as our Annual Christmas Lunch in the previous 3 or 4 years; I don't understand why we keep returning as all those I spoke to about the lunch were of similar mind. The service was good but the food was poor. All of us had pre-ordered our food a few weeks ago. I had the turkey just to be on the safe side and whilst the actual turkey breast was tender it was tasteless, and the veg (carrots, brussels, broccoli) were undercooked and hard. The roast parsnips were dry and leathery. The roast potatoes were overcooked with leathery outside but not browned nor crisp. The ball of stuffing was pretty tasteless but inoffensive. There were a couple of little pigs in blankets that were inoffensive too and there was a suspicion of gravy in there somewhere. I added a dollop of cranberry sauce which was OK. All the food on my plate was just not quite completely cold. Even if it had been properly hot I don't think that would have counteracted the poor cooking of the food. The quantities were small - see photo. I had not had a starter but I had ordered "warm waffle" for dessert. This was fine and came with some mixed fruit sauce but unfortunately there was a big dollop of ice cream on top of the waffle which took away all the warmth and made it a cold waffle. Still the dessert was much better than the main course. This is a big pub/resto and it does cater to many groups like ours. As such I would expect that with all the practice both in management and actual cooking they would be able to serve hot food. It wasn't very expensive, nor was it cheap. I hope my group's leaders will be able to find somewhere else for next year's ramblers' lunch! I certainly would never dream of going to the Prince George on my own account with family or friends.

Went for a roast last weekend with the family. £16 for the veggie option. Didn’t come with a Yorkshire. Had to ask for one. The roast potatoes tasted bland like they were cooked from frozen. Small portion of veg consisting of a few carrots, peas and cabbage. Felt that the quality did not reflect the price. The children pizza was rock hard and inedible. Such a shame as the staff were lovely and the service was good and it seemed like a nice venue.

Booked online as it was half way between two friends location. Pub is newly built but to a really nice design. You know it’s a pub and it has the traditional elements but it’s also got modern large toilets. Good job. Staff were attentive without bothering you and the food was exactly as ordered and tasty. Would go again.

The starters we had prawn cocktails and it wasn't cold it was warm and there wasn't enough to enjoy as a starters the prawns are the tiny ones not like the medium size yiu get elsewhere, The main food came out luke warm there wasn't enough on the plate you had a handful of chips the steak was so small and tasteless I was given a butter knife instead of a steak knife one burnt tomato and two small onion rings . The only best part of the food was the dessert. Wasn't worth the money .

Went into The Prince George for a little bit of lunch with hubby . The waitress couldn't have been anymore accommodating ! Lovely and cool inside , although people were enjoying eating outside too ! We were a large party. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. We enjoyed it. But my jacket potato is the smallest I have ever seen in my life.

We went for Sunday lunch here and arrived about 2pm, where the business was starting to tale off. Special mention to our waitress Andrada was very friendly and attentive, asking us if we needed anymore drinks (we did!) and looking after us very well. I had the veggie roast which was lovely, except they had run out of cauliflower cheese. My friend had a beef roast, and the kids has pasta. All food was lovely and finished completely. The kids Cheesy pasta was a very small portion though, and in fact all of the portions could have done with more to be honest . I love a roast with more veg - roasted carrots and brocolli would be a nice addition or roasted sweet potato to bulk up the portions. I had the best Sundae pudding ever (dont look at the calories!). Overall i would highly recommend, love the decor, ambience, food and staff, just maybe bigger portions and coloring/puzzle sheet for kids. They have a big outdoor area at he front ( i don't know about the back), ample parking. We are so glad we went, its so very tucked away in an unassuming place.

I've given 4 stars as we usually have a great experience at The Prince George. The waitress serving us was brilliant and the manager handled our complaint well; there were a few issues with the food - shame the chef couldn't cook a steak correctly - the medium rare were mooing and two had to be sent back only to return cremated (making a point?) after the rest of the table had finished which is rubbish, especially for a birthday meal. That aside, I'd still recommend the Prince George but maybe best to stick to the chicken on a Tuesday.

I had a meal at this wonderful pub today, Saturday 12th June 2021, I was impressed with the relaxed atmosphere i.e. lack of Covid signage, taking details at the door and track and trace and the choice to wear face masks or not. I wear a lanyard and was not confronted. The staff were lovely and friendly. We dinned inside, which had a homely and rustic feel. I had a steak and chicken combo meal and diet coke, and the food was wonderful, tasty and good value for money. It felt normal for the first time in a long time, I would definately come here again. I have been before, but noticed the new more relaxed atmosphere.

I have been usually this pub regularly 2 / per week for over 4 years.The portions, some of which come out if a microwave (knowing this as an ex chef)have become smaller and smaller with increased prices.I ordered scampi and chips and was dumbfounded to find I had to pay extra for a portion of peas, £1.15.The alcohol is more expensive than a night club.With the three tress merely down the road, who serve fresh food daily as the norm and prices on alcohol cheaper, I think a lot of residents on the estate are looking elsewhere to dine.The manager dont want to do anything, most not all managers chasite their staff in front of customers.That's a big now now.if this was my pub its profits would soar if it was used to it's full capacity.Send in the owners and stop changing wine and champagnes, due to this your selling less

My friend and I visit every Friday afternoon to enjoy a beer and a chat for a couple of hours. We visited today Wednesday 4 Nov as all hospitality closes down from tomorrow. I just want to compliment all the staff and management on the excellent service we were shown. The staff are always cleaning tables to keep everybody safe at the same time as making everybody welcome with their friendly service. I’m going to miss their friendly welcoming service for (hopefully) the next 4 weeks. Well done to everybody. Your all very much appreciated. Ron Jones.

Was visiting family in Milton Keyes last weekend. I have been to Prince George before so decided to book. My Aunt is quite concerned about COVID, but we were all extremely pleased with the precautions that were being taken, Meal was lovely and highly recomend.

I usually love The Prince George but was disappointed when I got there as the menu had changed. The food arrived and it was okay, nothing special. The atmosphere is always great though and our waitress was so friendly. We will be back but just for drinks next time.

Came with a friend for couple of drinks on Friday afternoon and was suprised with a super great customer servise! All the waitresses were very friendly, professional, helpful and with a big smiles on their faces. Will defo visit again, maybe for some food next time as well :)

Sat in the bar area with our dog for a late lunch. Enjoyed the eat out to help out discount and the rotisserie chicken was great. The beetroot burger was also nice. As we arrived a group of lads were being incredibly abusive to the landlady and waitresses- shouting and causing a bad atmosphere for the guests. Well done the the girls for politely standing their ground and to the landlady for telling them to leave after they would not be quiet or stop being aggressive. Great customer service and we met some nice, chatty people in the bar too. Fully recommend.

I came here with a friend to catch up for the first time after lockdown and to support a local business under the 'eat out to help out' scheme.We ate outside and for the most part we felt the Covid precautions were good, although surprised that none of the staff wore masks or gloves.The menu is cut down but offers a decent range of popular food. We opted for mains and pudding, both of which were very good. Again, slightly surprised to be offered the option of a single dessert with 2 spoons to share (not requested). Good evening but maybe just a little more effort to feel fully safe.

I really love the prince george. I have been a few times for drinks since it reopened after lockdown. The tables are well spaced out outside making you feel safe. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming, and it is dog friendly!

Been looking forwards to going out for something to eat for month’s, very disappointed with the food and service. We’ve been here before in many occasions and loved it. Food was very average and service was slow and unfriendly.

It was my boyfriends birthday and his mum took us out for our first meal since lockdown in March, it was such a lovely experience.Right from the get go the host/manager talked us through the new process with a great positive energy making us feel comfortable and sanitiser was available through the restaurant. We each ordered 3 different main meals, Hunters Chicken, Scampi and one of the chicken and steak grills. All the food was cooked perfectly and it tasted great!Really lovely evening out! Will be recommending to others in MK!

I ordered the breaded mushrooms they were not fresh and burned, I chose fish and chips for main, the fish was dry, the chips were very thin and not fresh a minute portion of mushy peas that were processed peas not genuine mushy peas.My wife and friend ordered an Irish coffee but they had run out of cream, this pub used to have really good food but the quality has certainly fallen.

How did I not know about the Prince George? I love everything about it. The building is lovely and wraps around the central bar so there is lots of room which was a good thing because it was very busy. The food was excellent (sausage toad in the hole] and very generous. I was delighted to see they have a complete gluten free menu too as some of my family are gluten free. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I can’t wait to go again!

It's been a while since I've been back and we went for a ladies lunch. It was really excellent, food was hot and delicious. We all had something different, birthday girl had spaghetti bolognese, they didn't have any parmesan so she had some cheddar to put on top instead, another of our party had fish and chips. I had the rotisserie chicken and sweet potato fries which were really excellent. Puddings were delicious too.

Excellent!! We eat out a lot, at a range of different restaurants of varying reputation and quality and price, also I’m not basing my review on a single visit. We visited Tues 21/01/20 to celebrate a special birthday and our visit and experience was everything I hoped it would be. All my 12 guests commented on how good the food and service was. Mostly, I wanted to say how warm and friendly the waitresses were. They contributed to making my celebration a really happy and memorable occasion. Well done and thankyou.

My husband took me here on 27th December for dinner. I do like the cosy nature of this new pub,although I think it's a bit too bright could do with a dip light area for snuggled up couples for a bit of romance. Unfortunately they had around 5 dishes not available but still lots to choose from. The food came very quickly and was rather nice and tasty and hot. We both had fish with champagne sauce. It's almost our local, will be lovely in the summer months as lots of seating outside too.

Cold , a mound of half cooked vegetables 10 roast potatoes and half a chickens two huge hard parsnips and a lone slice of carrot.As this was a group outing I didn’t complain so not to upset my companions.However the amount of waste that was the result wasjust not acceptable ..

I booked last year (2018) for myself, husband, Sister & her Husband for a Christmas Dinner- It was fantastic. Vegetables cooked just right, plenty of Turkey, potatoes crisp. Starters were well presented & tasty as was the deserts. Just come back from Christmas meal (20/12/2019) Thank goodness I didn’t invite anyone this year. Absolutely dreadful. Vegetables were just mush, thankfully not a lot of vegetables! Turkey was good, but small portions. Potatoes had obviously been left out for some time, not a good quality dinner. Starter OK as was Desert, but not as nicely presented as last year. If this had been my Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day - I would have extremely, extremely disappointed. The quality food at The King George is usually excellent, service is too. What a shame. Hope standards not dropping for this restaurant.

Some places open in a flurry, get great reviews, then "go off" after a while. Not the Prince George.We visited only yesterday and it is still excellent value and quality, with great service.Our server, Jacquie, was particularly good, making our experience even better, despite there being two large Christmas parties in at the time.The food is consistently great value and quality too.I can thoroughly reccommend this as a place for a great pub lunch.

This is the third year I have arranged a Christmas Party at the Prince George.
