Best Indian in Edinburgh. Decent brunch as well.

Wish I could rate them 6 stars! Outstanding service and food. We accidentally arrived too early, before they were open, but they really kindly seated us anyway and got us drinks while they finished setting up to open. Service from every single person was so warm and friendly, and the food was impeccable. They were able to accommodate a change in one of the dishes to make it vegetarian with no problem. Fantastic all round!

We were a party of 5 visiting Pranha to celebrate a special birthday and we were not disappointed. This was our first visit and Prahnas menu is a twist on traditional Indian food no pakoras and poppadums here but a selection of sumptuous starters including monkfish tikka style, scallops and giant tandoori prawns. Our mains included a seafood medley, chicken kadai curries and Lamb Lucknow ..wow all dishes were beautifully presented and we all agreed were among the best dishes we had tasted in an Indian Restuarant setting. Special mention to Liam and his team for their outstanding service and hospitality and for a specially presented birthday cocktail and birthday dessert with candle to help me celebrate that special birthday. This is a restaurant at the top of its game and I would highly recommend. We look forward to returning very soon to sample more of their fabulous menu offerings. A definite 10 out of 10 from us.

Lovely restaurant, with friendly staff, the staff were attentive but not intrusive, some nice little touches, water to the table some tasty pre dinner nibbles. The food was excellent we had the grill for 2 everything was cooked to perfection and the cocktails were great I would highly recommend.

We have been wanting to try Prahna for a while, so we were delighted when we finally managed to go. We were greeted as we arrived by very nice friendly staff. This high level of service continued for the whole evening, and a special mention to Raj, our waiter, who was very good. The food lived up to our high expectations too. We will certainly go back again.

Ridiculously good food, amazing service and just an absolute beautiful place to be. Can’t fault a single thing about this restaurant. We had afternoon tea here with a massive group of people and it was faultless. Their evening menu was perfect so we just have to go back for breakfast now.

Well where do I start it was the best afternoon tea with KS Dance group Dance World Cup Team. The food was so tasty and the quality was top class. The staff where friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back. The spices and flavours where amazing

i never go out of my way to leave a review somewhere but have to for this lovely resturant! please try this place out! really good service and great portion size with reasonable prices, everything was top notch, including the salmon and lamb chops, as well as the authentic lamb curry. Staff were very attentive, and really appreciated them bringing out the cake with candles and all the staff singing happy birthday. it is quite busy but atmosphere was lovely. they even give a free appetiser of pani puri to all customers which is a lovely touch. food was quick to come. 100% will be back.

Just a heads up to anyone buying a gift voucher from Prahna. We were given a gift voucher for afternoon tea worth £46.00 for our xmas from family that we were really looking forward to trying. Unfortunately in the bedlam of xmas chaos we lost our voucher!! Prahna do not keep any record of vouchers bought & are unable to honour our gift. Very dissapointing & we will now go elsewhere for our “treat” and pay for it ourselves 😥

Brilliant local Indian restaurant that does so much more than the old favourites. Buzzing on a Wednesday night and it’s obvious why, first class.

Food was amazing very and different from most Indian restaurants I have been to. Service was amazing and astaff very attentive. Above all the price was very reasonable for what was received. Thanks Abdus for the service and great conversation.

Food okay here . Nice indian restaurant. BUT , the dishes are way too small for the price. Very Small bowls with chicken to your meal, for example to your butter chicken. AND then you have to pay extra if you want rice to your dish??? ( what!! Not inkludede!! Crazy!!) And if you want nan bread, that is also extra. Way over priced restaurant.

The afternoon tea at Prahna is amazing - beautifully presented, varied selection (not a cucumber sandwich in sight thankfully!), and lovely flavour to each food item. Free re-fill of a choice of teas. Service is extremely friendly. Can't recommend it highly enough. Very reasonably priced for what you get. I've been about six times for the afternoon tea over the past couple years and it never disappoints - so thought I would write a review.

Been to this spot a fair few times now and felt a review was needed. Everytime we come here it's a truly fantastic experience all round, the service from start to finish is outstanding and all the staff really make you feel looked after at all times. The food is quality and portion sizes are perfect! Scallop and monkfish starters are divine and the kalmi chicken and sizzling duck mains are superb. Front of house gentleman, Liam I believe his name is, deserves a special shout out, his personality shines through everytime we visit and he's a credit to the business.

The food was exemplary - konkani fish is a worthy mention. The chefs, the two waitresses, the waiters and the bartender - everybody took very good care of us and that made our experience wholesome.

First time here. Big problem with booking system tonight so waited 40 mins for table. Worth the wait. Excellent food

Been a few times now and the standard of food and service is second to none, food perfectly cooked with decent portions, starters, mains, desserts all arriving when they should, restaurant was full but we never waited long for our food, the staff have this running like clockwork, full credit to all, one of the nicest restaurants I've been in with a beautiful floral ceiling, kitchen has an open aspect where you can watch them prepare the amazing dishes, menu set out is not to exhaustive but plenty to choose from, all at an excellent value. Would I return?? Absolutely yes.

Love Prahna, this was the first time we’ve been for afternoon tea which was fantastic. Saturday afternoon was busy and there was a real buzz about it. Won’t be long before we’re back.

This is a place to really be impressed with, especially in sleepy little Corstorphine. The photos are of a couple of lovely cocktails and their little slant on afternoon tea. However we’ve also been back for lunch and dinner. Great value for money and great flavour sensations. Breakfast at Prahna here we come….

Just back from Valentine's night dinner here and my word this place is amazing. The atmosphere you can feel before you even entered. The decoration is stunning, the love harpist was so talented. The service and the food was top tier. Best Indian food I have ever had and the sorbet was also the tastiest 🤤. The rose at the end was a lovely touch! We will definitely be back! It was an incredibly busy night but the team did amazing.

There is nothing that I can ever fault about Prahna. Been several times and the experience is always perfect. Staff are extremely attentive, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food is full of flavour and authenticity. I travel far to come here and can honestly say it is my favourite place to dine out, ever!

Three of us went for afternoon tea on Sunday. We received a very warm welcome by the waiter. This continued all through the afternoon. The food itself was delicious. Endless amounts of Chai Masala, included in the price. We had the gluten free option which was superb. One of the best afternoon teas ever, and made even better by the friendly staff.

Went here on a whim. So glad we did - it was phenomenal. We were given a small appetiser to begin with. I could feel the chef watching my reaction - he got a thumbs up! We shared the cheesy black pepper tandoori for starter. Although too spicy for me, it was still super tasty. I had the chicken korma for main. So much flavour. The waiter came over and said the chef was concerned it was too spicy for me - nope, that was just my happy face! Service was fantastic - thanks Raj - and the chefs clearly took pride in ensuring their guests enjoyed the food. Hands down one of the best indian meals I've ever eaten and reasonably priced.

It's a wonderful place to have a curry with friendly staff and great service. Also the best place to spend Burns Night. I really enjoyed the entertainment that night.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea here with my husband today. We had fantastic assistance from all the staff but in particular we really enjoyed a very warm and enthusiastic welcome from Liam who is clearly very passionate about the food and the service he provides. I'd highly recommend!

Me and my gilrfriend went there to celebrate our three year anniversary in October here, We was met with an extremely friendly host who showed us to our seats right away. Whilst deciding what we should have they offered us both a free starter! which tasted delicious. We then decided on our order and the waiter helped us with portion sizes and reccomendations. The food arrived quickly, and tastilly! After we was done with our meal we was trying to figure out what we wanted for dessert to which they came to our table and offered us a free desert in honour of our anniversary, which was decorated for the occasion with strawberry sauce love hearts. The staff was great following up with us throughout the evening, and they was never too much in our face, almost as if they could read our minds for the perfect timing they had. Overall amazing food, atmosphere and people. Would definitley return. Edinburghs best Indian restaurant. 6/5.

Indian food with a Scottish twist in as beautiful venue with friendly staff. The food is great quality and with lots of new and different food on the menu compared to a 'normal' Indian you will want to try something every time you come back 😁 I still haven't yet had a normal curry from here, but I bet it will be amazing.

Celebrated a family birthday here last weekend and as usual the service and food were first class. Although they were fully booked and busy service was still friendly and perfect. The main host has a great energy, all the staff are friendly and welcoming. They even brought out a complimentary dessert and candles as we had said we were celebrating a birthday which was a lovely touch. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

We travel quite a distance to come here. We've had dinner a few times but recently had lunch and it was mind blowing. I'm starving writing this! Unbelievable find. Just go.

I have been five times this year (and I live 150 miles away). Every dish I have tried has been imaginative, nicely presented (without being stupidly fancy) and, most importantly, bursting with flavour. The service, right from my first visit, is very efficient, correctly paced and personal, with just the right level of attentiveness. As a visitor to Edinburgh I had plans to visit many different restaurants, but I keep getting drawn back to The Prahna and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Thank you so much to the team at Prahna for making my graduation meal extra special. The service was perhaps some of the best I’ve ever experienced and although we’d travelled 7 hours cross country to get to Edinburgh, we felt very much at home. The food was delicious and the staff were more than happy to help. We even enjoyed a mocktail and snack on the house! Next time we’re in Edinburgh, we’ll definitely be back.

Loved the service, super friendly bar staff (dressed as a slush puppy on our Halloween visit), great with my 4 year old and us having people arrive at different times. Yummy food, plentiful portions. Gorgeous decoration. Clean toilets.

Beautiful starter, deliciously prepared, seasoned and plated. Such a pity about the bowl of slop that arrived for the main course, felt like someone had thrown in some undercooked paneer into a bowl of Morrison's Value tomato soup, seriously disappointing. Nice Peshwari Naan, if a little on the small side. And we must have spoken to about 8 different servers - they tried to take the drinks order three times - that needs sorting.

If you are not fan of Indian food that’s the best place to start your transition. All team are going over and beyond to meet your expectations, food is served in really nice way and good temperature. There’s option to order typical Indian food, but also British food with Indian twist. Atmosphere and look of the restaurant is really unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Saturday evening dinner menu is extremely limited. I asked for prawns as a substitute in the Railway Chicken. Shockingly rude response. Staff are mostly students with ill fitting clothes and similar attitude. Small portions and big prices. Won't be back.

Disappointing experience. The decoration makes you think you are in an upscale restaurant but the staff seems very unsure and lost. Worst service we had for a long time. The food is tasty (except for the butter chicken... honestly order something else it was not worth it) but over priced compared to the portion size
