Such a lovely Indian meal. Owned by a lovely lady. We had the chickpea curry, saag aloo a and veg daal. All yum. Try the masala chai. So good! Highly recommend. Really nice atmosphere.

The lovely owner made us a very authentic indian dinner and we had a very nice conversation with her. The food was very delicious and you can tell that the owner puts her heart in the meals. We will always come back!

Excellent food, incredible welcome: Nutan is unparalleled in his kindness and friendliness! The dishes are carefully prepared and this is appreciable in the intense, fine and complex taste of its recipes. We're really enjoying ourselves. Strangely I am writing a review without visiting the place. We called up the restaurant for a reservation but the hostess told us to first check the menu & then come as we would ask for something & would be disappointed!! Reality was we had checked the menu! It looked like she was discouraging us to come.

Nutan is a wonderful lady who is always so genuine and kind, it brightens my day to eat at her restaurant. The food she makes is always cooked to perfection and delicious.

To our surprise, we were even not served asked to look for other options nearby. We asked for Chapathi and Dal. Chapathi is listed in the menu and recommended. She said “we don’t make Chapathi”. Then we asked for roti. She laughed at us and said roti and Chapathi are same. Then I had say, we meant tandoori roti. (I am from Bangalore. Here roti means Tandoori roti). She said, we don’t make tandoori roti please try in other places. We felt little insulted and got out of the place. We found another nice place nearby (Indian street food). However, don’t go by my review. May be our bad day. Most of the reviews are excellent.

Die Besitzerin ist super nett und sehr herzlich. Das Essen ist wahnsinnig lecker. Wenn wir das nächste mal in der Stadt sind kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder.

Fantastic Indian cuisine with reasonable prices in the heart of Edinburgh. The owner (our waiter) Nutan is such an inspiring woman, a true one-person show. We were amazed at her joyous and uplifting spirit, and we absolutely adored our experience. Be warned, though, on busy days (like the time we went), service might be slow due to the fact she's doing everything (completely out of her control). Overall, an outstanding experience!

I had dinner twice at Nutan's restaurant. She is the most wonderful lady and an amazing cook. Nutan welcomes her guests with open arms and always has a smile on her face. I ordered the vegetarian thali and it was the best thali I have ever had. If you are in Edinburgh, go check out Nutan's restaurant for freshly homemade healthy Indian food!

We ate dinner late, so we were the only ones in there, but unlike so many places that tend to ignore you when they are slow, the service was delightful and exceptional. The food was equally delicious, too! We're from the U.S. and our favorite local Indian restaurant's "medium spice" is less spicy than here, so it was making me sweat, but that didn't diminish how flavorful and really good the food was. We would definitely return and recommend it to others!

Overheerlijke curry gegeten, bereid en geserveerd met vrolijkheid en liefde. Neem vooral een heerlijke mango lassi erbij! Vers en met heerlijke kruiden er door (onder andere Kardemom). Op en top Indiaas en betaalbaar, een aanrader!

Amazing food that blew us all away and the hospitality is out of this world!

We had the best food in a long time at Nutan’s. The host is so friendly and fun. People in this restaurant spontaneously had conversions with each other, all because of the great atmosphere she creates. Will definitely eat here again when back in Edinburgh.

Lovely small restaurant owned by the kindest Nutan. She pays attention to every single customer, asking everyone if they enjoy her food. I have tried Veggie Thali and a platter of mixed veggie samosas and pakoras, all were amazing. Considering the quality of food and service + the amount of food you get they are quite budget-friendly. Plenty of vegetarian-vegan options + gluten free choices. Easily one of my favourite restaurants in town. I regret not stepping in before! Definitely will come back.

One of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh ! A cosy, vibrant restaurant that is made all the better by a wonderful soul - a chef, hostess, and warm presence who does all she can to accommodate. I had a delicious vegetable thali and mango lassi. I was given advice about what I was able to eat (I am coeliac) without any problems - and if I remember correctly, most items on the menu were either gluten free or could be adapted. My partner and I can’t wait to visit again and try out more of the menu !!

Nice restaurant. It’s not a high end dining place but a cosy eat out run a nice lady. The cost is not less as compared to other restaurants.

What an amazing place! My boyfriend and I read the reviews for Nutan’s and we couldn’t resist going. The food was spectacular and priced extremely reasonably (you could definitely spend around £10 per person and get a flavourful and filling meal). The owner was incredibly welcoming and catered to any dietary requirements and spice levels. We both absolutely loved it and agreed that it was a restaurant we need to come back to every time we visit Edinburgh. Couldn’t recommend more. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Wandered in for dinner and boyfriend and I still talk about this meal six months later. Owner was warm, welcoming and great with a recommendation when we couldn't make a decision. Would travel back to Edinburgh just to have this great experience again.

One of our favourite experiences in Edinbourgh. The atmosphere in Nutan’s restaurant was very relaxing after a long day of walking though the city. It was amazing seeing how Nutan singlehandedly served all customers while cooking and cleaning too. We ordered the Samosa, the vegetarian Malaysian curry, and the house specialty chicken curry, before finishing with a Chai. All of these were simply delicious and prepared with lots of care. I cannot recommend Nutan’s restaurant enough. Thank you!

This is a small, home style Indian restaurant with just a few tables, but it's really good food. Try the Palak Paneer with Naan or the Thali.

Such an amazing experience at Nutan’s. Truly some of the best Indian food I have had since my trip to India! It is so obvious she cares about her food and her customers.
