Absolutely amazing dinner, authentic delicious food. Huge portions, lovely staff. The peshawari naan and pilau rice was particularly good. We had a LOT of food and drinks, and it came to just £30 per person. I couldn't recommend Durbar more!

It was a nice experience…. Especially Dum boneless biryani is outrageous.

We ate very well in this restaurant! We had the butter chicken and it was a real delight. I also recommend the cheese nan which was very good. We feel that the products are of quality. The service was also perfect, the waiters were very kind and professional. I would point out that everything was quite spicy.

A very busy Rugby Saturday night - we had pre-booked. Great service even though it was so busy - waiter still took time to answer questions and make recommendations. The Lamb Shank Gosht was listed as 'Melt in the mouth' and it did not disappoint. Some places use 'busy' weekends as a reason that their service is not as it should be. 'Team Durbar' delivered a great experience for us on Saturday and all with a smile on their face. Thank you

Ate here last night after reading all the 5 star reviews. Very disappointing indeed. Restaurant wasn’t busy so not much atmosphere but the real issue was the food. Poppadoms average and 4 dips, 3 of which were quite similar. Chicken saag and chicken rogan for mains and both dishes were quite bland. Also not a huge amount of chicken in either. Server was very pleasant and the naan bread was good. Wouldn’t go back. Pricey enough - bill for 2 with 2 glasses of wine, no starters, was £60.

Food was amazing! Honestly, it was so good quality. Staff is gentle. I will come back for sure!

The food is amazing and very authentic. The best lamb chop and Tandoori salmon I've ever had! We had lamb sang and lamb junglee are banging, highly recommend this place.

Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was amazing. Delicious food and lovely service. We had the biryani, butter chicken and peshwari. All some (if not one) of the best we have had. Will recommend to all our family and friends and will definitely be back to try more dishes.

We wanted to try a new Indian tonight and decided upon here based on the excellent reviews. It's not local for us but we were glad we drove a little further a field as this is the best Indian food we have had in a long time. All dishes were delicious. We realised the poppadoms were missing from the order when we got home and despite them only being £2, a member of staff drove them out to us which was greatly appreciated. Excellent service and food. We will definitely be back and look forward to exploring more of the menu.

We visited on 9th Jan firstly we was not comfortable but after indian tea ....I haven't any words we gone for only tea but we had to many things that was amazing test bread pakoda? No words even no one can beat in test. Special bhel quantities was small but test was very huge....one guy who served us he is very humble and helpful person....

Review by Odin The Chow Chow: my pawrents went out for dinner at this restaurant whilst I had a snooze back at the hotel. When they got back they told me that the food was really good - cooked properly and very tasty with touch of ‘home cooked’ for good measure! They really enjoyed the meal and said the people serving the food were polite and engaged in interesting conversation. Best of all, they found out it is dog friendly so said that next time they go they’ll take me along too!! They said that they would totally recommend this restaurant if you’re on a visit to Edinburgh.

We chose this restaurant for a dinner meal primarily because of its 4.8 Google rating, and the food truly lived up to this rating. Absolutely delicious! We had Butter Chicken, Daal Makhani, Bhindi Masala, Laal Maas, Paneer Garlic, Kadai Paneer, Butter Naan, Lachha Paratha (the best), and Tandoori Roti. The service was great, the staff was friendly, and the ambiance was pleasant. So, we returned the following day and did not regret it. Ten of us enjoyed the meal twice during our 4-night stay in Edinburgh. If you're in town and looking for an authentic Indian meal, this is the place I would highly recommend.

An excellent restaurant with lot of options to look at. We usually order non vegetarian but on my daughter’s request we ordered for Dal Makhani and it was delicious. The non vegetarian dishes tasted extra ordinary. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was truly a great experience

The last evening in Scotland and therefore a special evening for us: We were not disappointed, the staff is friendly and attentive, the food came quickly, was very tasty and beautifully prepared, the prices are completely okay given the central location. My husband and I were here for Christmas dinner. We enjoyed the butter chicken and chicken biryani. The biryani was spicy but good and the butter chicken was very tasty. I loved the garlic naan, as well.

This place was unexpectedly good. When we went in only one other table was occupied so we weren't sure. However, the food was authentic. They made it spicy at our request. No fuss servers - very responsive. Overall a great experience!

We came here based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing but more than that the staff are so friendly and vibe is very welcoming. This place is a little gem, the food is 10/10 and the service is faultless. Some of the best Indian curries I’ve had possibly ever, I asked for it to be spicy and they understood the assignment. The waiters are polite and check up on you but not too much either. Food came out at a good time and piping hot and everything is so resealably priced and good sized portions. Honestly can’t find enough words to compliment it enough. This place is a must try!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. As a vegetarian there were so many options. Good value for money and nice setting inside.

The food is good but I kind of feel that it’s overpriced for the portion. Maybe it’s due to the fancy bar they have as well. I was there for dinner and paid 21 pounds for paneer garlic curry, rice, naan and Limca. I had to order naan because the rice is soo less despite charging 3.5 pounds for it.

A lovely, warm environment with a team of friendly, helpful staff and most importantly - amazing food. Fairly priced and delicious - Durbar is a great choice for indian dining in central Edinburgh. Myself and my partner especially enjoyed their tandoori roti offering, which is perfect pairing with one of their great curries! A sincere thanks to the team of staff who served us with great care, even during Edinburgh’s busy Christmas season!
