American tourist on vacation: Currently eating here now and it is amazing. The food is incredibly tasty. We had: Apps: bread pakora - it came out like a pie slice and was a potato filling surrounded by fried dough. Chili paneer: paneer cubes stewed in a red curry sauce with onions and red peppers. For dinner we had paneer butter masala, basmati rice, and garlic naan. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. 100% recommend.

We had an exceptional experience - one of the best indian food I have had. Their service was commendable - I had a one year old and they offered to warm his food. They were very diligent overall and accommodated all our special needs. The food is good spicy and wholesome!

Ordered nalli gohst lamb curry and suffered a bad stomach pain the whole next day. Not worth the price and high chances it would disturb your trip if you are on a visit.

The food was outstanding. Service was good but occasionally a few items slow in getting to the table or our starter order was delayed as one item forgotten. Setting and presentation of the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Beautiful decor - not too dark or overpowering. Lovely staff. Nice atmosphere even when busy.

Fantastic food, wonderful staff

It's all true. The food is absolutely fantastic.Service is friendly and the atmosphere is engaging. Something for everyone. Main dishes were exquisite, delicately spiced, loads of flavour, and a peshwari naan bread to die for. There's nothing not to like.

Everybody here was very friendly and the portion sizing was appropriate. There were no complaints and the Indian tea at the end was perfect!

Food was excellent everything was fresh and well cooked. Service slightly slow but wasn't bothered as the ingredients were all so fresh. Knocked a star off because restaurant was cold. Kept my coat on to eat which is not ideal.

Amazing food and even more amazing staff

The butter chicken and peshwari naan were fantastic. The chicken pakora and the lamb seekh kebab were sadly average at best. Felt quite expensive when we got the bill.

We were greeted warmly and seated quickly at an open table for four, even though there were only two of us (and we were ten minutes early for our reservation). The food was absolutely delicious and served promptly though the restaurant was full. Great experience--would definitely go back.

Cannot fault this place on anything. Easily the best Indian meal I've ever had. The blend of spice and flavour was unbeatable and accompanied by a sterling service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back very soon!

Food was overall ok but lacked flavor. I ordered chicken saag and payed for chicken saag but received saag paneer. I also was asked after my order if I wanted any papadum and I said “sure” and then was charged for the papadum and a pickled relish tray I didn’t even ask for that’s totaled >$7 US… so be careful what is ordered , what you get, and what is charged.

Fantastic food and great service, but the tables by the window were very cold and the lighting is very bright and white (rather like a fast food place). Not comfortable at all.

We had such a fabulous mean here, the manager saw to us directly as I am a coeliac, and they went out to their way to help me. We had 3 starters between us that were equally incredible, the chilli prawns by far the winner, followed by curry and keema rice, great wine and rum to follow. I can’t wait to come back for another delectable meal in what is ( in my opinion) one of Edinburgh’s best restaurants. I can’t wait to come back,

Food was on point. The garlic Naan was top notch. Lived the lamb curry was amazing. Everyone at the table loved it. Would definitely come back.

I went here in a group of 4 and we all enjoyed ourselves. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Our bellies were full but we wanted to keep going. We will definitely return.

Best value Indian restaurant in Edinburgh

One of the best indian restaurants i’ve ever been to! the food was amazing and the staff was so kind. The food was there pretty fast and there was always someone ready to help me.

Rave reviews made me visit this place on my birthday. Pav bhaji was decent, though pav were soggy. However, bhaji was really good. Malai kofta wasn’t great but wasn’t bad either. Butter chicken on the other hand is one thing which ruined the whole experience. Mentioning it on menu how to make a Punjabi happy is by serving him authentic butter chicken isn’t enough, make sure you know how to make butter chicken. I did check with server if they serve authentic butter chicken and only after they assured me that they do, I ordered butter chicken and was hoping at least someone here would get it right. However, to my dismay it turned out to be just another claim. Butter chicken is a tomato based gravy, with cashews and Tandoori chicken. The chicken was pan seared chicken breast which wasn’t seasoned well and the gravy wasn’t seasoned well either. Highly disappointed. Had to send it back, not going back to this place again.

Amazing Indian food in Edinburgh. If anyone wants to taste authentic Indian food then this the place to go. I had ordered lamb chops, tangdi kabab, both were amazing and they made it spicy as we requested. Biryani can be still improved but nevertheless it is good. Service is too good, the staff is polite and humble. Since we liked the food so much we went for lunch again the next day.

Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. The salmon tikka was delicious - one of the best executions of the dish. The naan was tasty and the curry (though less spicy) was great too. Highly recommend this place!

Durban was a fantastic spot to get delicious Indian food! Things we loved: - Chicken Shashlish - we ordered it as an appetizer - Butter Chicken - always delicious; enough for each of us to have 2 servings - Punjabi Nalli Gohst - we LOVE lamb and this was the star of the show for us; bone-in lamb shank that we shredded into the delicious curry sauce - Service was great - at times a bit slow but definitely faster than is typical at similar restaurants back in California - Clean, vibrant and nicely decorated dining atmosphere Things we would change (if we could): - wine by the glass offerings: there was just 1-2 of each varietal that you could order by the glass. - bathrooms were a bit lackluster and didn’t quite reflect the same level of attention given to the dining area. - we seemed to have a variety of servers which could be confusing when you’re trying to order more naan or rice.

It’s great, food is really good. Our food was served quickly. The owner was friendly. The encens was maybe a bit too strong.

We are so glad we booked a reservation and enjoyed this restaurant's hospitality and wonderful food. They offered up some amazing suggestions, one being an elevated street food from his home and so so glad we got that. Thank you for all you did. We will be back for sure!

Very fine Indian dining in epic chandelier-lit space very close to West End

The food was great, full of flavour, good in the spice, nice portions and prices were fine. The place did had a bad night when it comes to the table service. Due to internet failure our order never reached the kitchen. We got some complementary drinks and a snack, which was appreciated. The service just felt very inattentive, it took ages before we got our first drink, it was never asked if we wanted another. You had to beg to get some attention, which was a shame.

What can I say. The best meal we have had in Edinburgh by far. The lamb cooked to perfection with amazing flavours and spice. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm and the hosts are very attentive. Can highly recommend their lamb curries and when we are next in Edinburgh we will be booking a table again.

I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, the food is the best Indian meal I have had. Loved the fact the owner surprised up with our starter, which was delicious and inventive. Accidentally found out as a place to eat after and it was a pleasant visit. Food was delicious. Their Indian food kadai paneer, paneer butter masala and salted lassi also worth trying. Ambiance is also nice with mild bollywood music playing in the background.

I've been to many Indian restaurants in Edinburgh and this is one of the best ones. I loved it in the first visit itself and now I've been here 3 times, never disappointed. The spices are just right, the service is great and the restaurant itself looks beautiful. Would totally recommend.

Been twice. Good standard of food and service. Tandoori mixed grill was nice. Had the chicken thali the second time and that was tasty. Pleasant atmosphere. Food arrived quickly.

I recently had dinner at Durbar and loved the ambiance and warm welcome. However, the food quality was disappointing. The Dum Aloo had stale-tasting potatoes and no cashews, despite being listed on the menu. The Chicken Kadai was overly oily, and the Pilau Rice felt like reheated frozen rice, unevenly warmed. I mentioned this to the waiter, but there was a communication gap. Given the high prices, the food quality needs significant improvement.

Great experience here! The garlic naan was phenomenal as well as both dishes that we got! One of our dishes was delayed coming out due to an error but the food was incredible and they were great at communicating what was going on and very apologetic. Would definitely eat here again!
