This place is a little gem, the food is 10/10 and the service is faultless. Some of the best Indian curries I’ve had possibly ever, I asked for it to be spicy and they understood the assignment. The waiters are polite and check up on you but not too much either. Food came out at a good time and piping hot and everything is so resealably priced and good sized portions. Honestly can’t find enough words to compliment it enough. This place is a must try!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. As a vegetarian there were so many options. Good value for money and nice setting inside.

The food is good but I kind of feel that it’s overpriced for the portion. Maybe it’s due to the fancy bar they have as well. I was there for dinner and paid 21 pounds for paneer garlic curry, rice, naan and Limca. I had to order naan because the rice is soo less despite charging 3.5 pounds for it.

A lovely, warm environment with a team of friendly, helpful staff and most importantly - amazing food. Fairly priced and delicious - Durbar is a great choice for indian dining in central Edinburgh. Myself and my partner especially enjoyed their tandoori roti offering, which is perfect pairing with one of their great curries! A sincere thanks to the team of staff who served us with great care, even during Edinburgh’s busy Christmas season!

The biriyani was bad, buns in pav bhaaji were bad. Worst of all, expensive.

Everything was great, very well priced, the workers were very nice and fast.

I ordered food from here, it wasn't packed properly and spilled everywhere in the package. The taste was not up to the mark as it was really difficult to finish even halfway.

We found this place completely by accident, and after a quick look at previous reviews, we decided to try it. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was faultless and the food was absolutely beautiful! The flavours were amazing and I would highly recommend it. In fact, I am actually recommending it to my in-laws who are coming to Edinburgh in two weeks' time.

We ate here February 23, the whole experience was just class. Super friendly, unbelievably tasty grub. Highly recommend. Definitely we'll get back.

Food was tasty, we had lamb biryani which was recommended to us from the manager and butter chicken. The keema naan was great too. The Biryani didn't have the veg curry on the side that normally accompanies the dish in other restaurants and the dish was a little dry. The chilli paneer starter could have done with the paneer being grilled or pan fried, they were not seared so had a texture like tofu. Otherwise taste was good.

“I recently visited Durbar in [Edinburgh], and it was a delightful experience. The warm, traditional ambiance and attentive staff set the tone for an enjoyable evening. For the starters we had panipuri, bread pakoras, paneer pakora, dahi puri, in a main course we had The paneer butter masala and paneer garlic masala were rich in flavor. For the breads we tried different types of bread like cheese chili garlic naan, bhaturas, lachha paratha, chapati from all of this cheese chilli garlic naan was my favourite, the overall quality was impressive. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine at a reasonable price

Food was delicious, and we managed to get seated immediately after walking in. However, we were finished in about an hour and as soon as we started finishing our plates we were rushed to be cleared up. I'm not sure if they needed the table but they never said anything, and a lot of the tables were empty. Would definitely recommend with a booking because the food was delicious and really reasonably priced.

Food is amazing and very very tasty

You would think oh indian food in Scotland, why would you do that? Oh let me tell you, it was one of the BEST meal we had in Edinburgh. Over a weekend trip we decided to try something nearby our hotel as our last dinner in Edinburgh, so glad we did. They have the best butter chicken we have ever had and we eat lots of indian food back in Canada.

The food is excellent, but check the bill and check it because it increases the orders and takes an increase in the bill. It happened to us twice, unfortunately, but we discovered it. Do not pay until you check your orders.

American tourist on vacation: Currently eating here now and it is amazing. The food is incredibly tasty. We had: Apps: bread pakora - it came out like a pie slice and was a potato filling surrounded by fried dough. Chili paneer: paneer cubes stewed in a red curry sauce with onions and red peppers. For dinner we had paneer butter masala, basmati rice, and garlic naan. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. 100% recommend.

We had an exceptional experience - one of the best indian food I have had. Their service was commendable - I had a one year old and they offered to warm his food. They were very diligent overall and accommodated all our special needs. The food is good spicy and wholesome!

Ordered nalli gohst lamb curry and suffered a bad stomach pain the whole next day. Not worth the price and high chances it would disturb your trip if you are on a visit.

Fantastic food, wonderful staff

The food was outstanding. Service was good but occasionally a few items slow in getting to the table or our starter order was delayed as one item forgotten. Setting and presentation of the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Beautiful decor - not too dark or overpowering. Lovely staff. Nice atmosphere even when busy.

It's all true. The food is absolutely fantastic.Service is friendly and the atmosphere is engaging. Something for everyone. Main dishes were exquisite, delicately spiced, loads of flavour, and a peshwari naan bread to die for. There's nothing not to like.

The butter chicken and peshwari naan were fantastic. The chicken pakora and the lamb seekh kebab were sadly average at best. Felt quite expensive when we got the bill.

We were greeted warmly and seated quickly at an open table for four, even though there were only two of us (and we were ten minutes early for our reservation). The food was absolutely delicious and served promptly though the restaurant was full. Great experience--would definitely go back.

Cannot fault this place on anything. Easily the best Indian meal I've ever had. The blend of spice and flavour was unbeatable and accompanied by a sterling service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back very soon!

We had such a fabulous mean here, the manager saw to us directly as I am a coeliac, and they went out to their way to help me. We had 3 starters between us that were equally incredible, the chilli prawns by far the winner, followed by curry and keema rice, great wine and rum to follow. I can’t wait to come back for another delectable meal in what is ( in my opinion) one of Edinburgh’s best restaurants. I can’t wait to come back,

Food was overall ok but lacked flavor. I ordered chicken saag and payed for chicken saag but received saag paneer. I also was asked after my order if I wanted any papadum and I said “sure” and then was charged for the papadum and a pickled relish tray I didn’t even ask for that’s totaled >$7 US… so be careful what is ordered , what you get, and what is charged.

Food was on point. The garlic Naan was top notch. Lived the lamb curry was amazing. Everyone at the table loved it. Would definitely come back.

I went here in a group of 4 and we all enjoyed ourselves. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Our bellies were full but we wanted to keep going. We will definitely return.
