Went for dinner on a Thursday night. Good table by the window. Took a wine and had two nice curries. Host tried some Spanish and offer vegetarian recommendations. Amazing curries!

I had this place recommended by my Indian friends, they came once before and raved about it! Joined them the second time and couldn't agree more! Food and service were fantastic 👌🏽🔥 I'll be back soon I'm sure. Only part I found strange was the pineapple in the jalfrezi?? But maybe that's just personal preference

Easily one of the best Indian restaurants I've visited in Edinburgh. The ingredients are fresh, the food is very authentic and aligns to a South Asian as well as a non-South Asian palette. We specified our spice preferences (we're Indian) and they made sure that our food was as spicy as we wanted. The ambience is lovely as well. Great service too!

We stumbled upon Cilantro on our trip to Edinburgh and good thing we did. This Indian food is incredible. Our favorite part (unfortunately we forgot to take a picture) was the chicken puri for dessert. A must get! The other things we got which were delicious: lamb jalfrezie, karai chicken, sabzi pilau rice, and paratha. Of course, we finished with the galub jamun. To top it off, the service was wonderful. Strongly recommend this restaurant!

The truth is, I went with more expectations with the score they have, however, it is the third time I have tried Indian food in Scotland, and the other two places beat it in terms of flavor, service and prices. However, it is still a good place to eat.

Lovely neighbourhood North Indian / Bangladeshi restaurant. Recently it got raves reviews in the Times Saturday restaurant review in the Alba section of the paper. We had a few dishes (starters & mains) that we shared tapas style. Lovely food and friendly service. It's BYOB with only £4 corkage for our wine - establishment doesn't have an alcohol licence but Sainsburys is only across the road.

Excellent little restaurant serving delicious food. Staff are sooo welcoming and friendly and keen to advise on dishes. Recommend the Chicken Puri starter sooooo tasty and just the right size for a starter. We also had the Dhall side dish with our main which also fantastic. Garlic breads are ohhh soooo gooood too. As others have written it's BYOB and drinks can be purchased across the road in Sainsbury's or just a bit up Walk in Tesco's. But what you might not know is the staff have a small fridge where you can also store them. Recommend booking as it's small. Will definitely be back again.

Really great Indian food! We got the garlic naan, the chicken chicken pathia, and the saag aloo; all incredibly delicious! I've never had a saag aloo before that was anything more than just "fine," but this one was great!

The food and the staff are absolutely outstanding. This was my second time in Cilantro and the nice gentleman (forgot his name) recognised us. As in the first time, we asked for recommendations, based on our taste and mood. The menu has plenty of options to choose from. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Will definitely return soon.

A small but exclusive and authentic Indian restaurant serving the most delicious curries and naan. Probably the best I've found in the UK. The food and service has a personal touch, making the experience all the more special. We had the vegetable jalfrezi with naan, achari baingan and the pulao and they were all rich in flavour and absolutely delicious. I found this gem after a long day touring Edinburgh with my mum, to satisfy our craving for hearty and filling Indian food. I'm so glad to have stumbled upon Cilantro through Google. It's well-located close to the centre of the city, their service is quick and the team is incredibly hospitable. We loved it so much that we made a reservation for the next day and ate the rest of our meals here until we were in Edinburgh. A special mention to the lady from Punjab who was managing Cilantro, and the gentleman with glasses (sorry, I don't remember his name!). They were warm, welcoming and made the visits pleasant.

We booked ahead for our party of 6, grabbed a nice bottle of wine on our way, and had a wonderful evening!!! Indian dining veterans loved their dishes, and the menus and staff helped our first-timers navigate the menu as well. Definitely recommend trusting this most professional and passionate team!!!

Delicious food and excellent service. With a large group it feels cosy, but we felt very welcomed and everyone enjoyed themselves. The curries were excellent and we will definitely be returning!

Wow! What a little gem. Very glad we discovered this restaurant on Leith Walk. Marvellous fresh cooking and extra friendly and helpful staff. My friend who has to eat gluten free was so well looked after. The food was delicious and we ate every last drop. Can recommend the chicken with mango, the chicken with citrus fruit, the sag aloo in particular. Will jump at any chance to go back. Wish I had taken photos! Thanks for a lovely evening.

We came here for our Christmas Day meal. We had both meat and vegetarian dishes. All dishes were delicious and cooked to perfection ! Great service from the team very friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

Called and got a table on a whim after walking past and seeing it full. I'm pretty fussy having grown up with asian cooking and always ready to be disappointed but was super happy - really lovely staff, welcoming atmosphere and fantastic food, as everything is freshly cooked they were able to change round some things on the menu for us. Thumbs up all round, you won't be disappointed.

This Indian restaurant deserves more than 5 stars ,I have been eating Rogan Josh Curry's for over 40 years (yes I'm that old ....or maybe I started at 5:)) I cannot remember ever (and I don't say that lightly ...I'm a Yorkshire man we are not known for our compliments:)) ever having a better curry ,anywhere ...treat yourself if in Edinburgh...maybe even worth coming here just for the curry . service was brilliant too (and I'm not related:))

Nicest Indian meal enjoyed in edinburgh in a long time. Very friendly service. Lovely decor and food was utterly delicious. Will certainly return and have alreasy reccommended to others. Knowledgable and supportive with allergy requirements too, without making the guest do the work or take responsibility for any potential error. Image attached of the chicken biryani which my partner enjoyed. Sadlly no pic of my aubergine which just melted in the mouth and was full of flavour without being overbearing on the chilli heat. Added to our regulars list for sure.

Second time we have been ( have had a few takeaways as well ) and it is OUTSTANDING. We had quite a large table and they coped with us so well. The service was perfect and most importantly the food was genuinely first class. Easily my favourite restaurant of its kind in Edinburgh. 10/10.

One of the best Anniversary meals my wife and I have had in recent memory. Staff and atmosphere were impeccable even though i got the booking wrong. The food was so fresh and tasty. We will be returning customers this I can assure you. ☆☆☆☆☆
