Nice staff, service and food okay

I had the homemade Parmo & it was well worth the money. The garlic sauce was freshly made. Kelly, Kayleigh and the rest of the staff are always friendly & myself & the wife are always made welcome.

The function room at the back of the pub is very good for parties. Not too big... a long oblong room. Decorated nicely is great for family gatherings.. Birthdays etc. It looked lovely for the retirement party I was at. Staff were helpful... served with a smile. A small dance floor. Music played in back ground. Tables and chairs beautifully covered. It was an excellent night. Very cosy and able to talk and chat with everyone.. The buffet was gorgeous.... so fresh and plenty to choose from. From cold to a curry and rice. Chips potatoes veg meat in gravy. Wow. As for a cake it was laid in a design as cup cakes individually for everyone to help ourselves. Nicest cup cake I have had. The icing design was very pretty. Tasted delicious. So I would recommend here. Very impressed.

Waitress got our food order wrong and was rude and argued that I was the one that ordered wrong until my Mum told her she shouldn’t argue with us and just correct the order and she did say sorry only on the delay on our food when bringing the correct order out.

We had Sunday lunch and it was delicious - could it fault it. Lovely meat, veg and Yorkshires with extra gravy without even asking. We had desert too and that was also top notch. Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend 👍

What can I say ffs !! We youse to come every weekend was a lovely place !! Now !! Kids working the bar ! No communication with the kids running the bar and the so called kitchen staff , Who are just sat about drinking ! Could understand if the place was actually busy !! But no one in and no interest in there customers !! Waited over an hour to be told the order had not gone through and there was no actual items available which I had ordered over an hour ago !! Stay away!! please reed the reviews Ffs 🤦🏻‍♂️ !!

Empty pub midday. Ordered prawn cocktails. Supposed to be Brown seeded bread and lemon slices. Came after half an hour. White stale bread. No lemon. They said they in middle of changing menu. Then got food. Greasy and tasted of stale fat. Food and drink overpriced. No specials on. Staff too laid back. Terrible music playing in background. Disappointed.

Went here for Sunday dinner was good only thing the beef was a bit over done but still enjoyed it

The Atmos pher was nice and being with friends made it a fantastic night for my daughter and I and what can I say about the 🥝🥑 wow the Lasagne just out of this world 🌎 best I have had for quite a while well 👍 done keep the great service up thanks.

Shocking the guy at the bar watched us reading the menu and let me pay for drinks knowing full well the only food available was Sunday lunch my 5 year old granddaughter wanted fish fingers etc. And we're not on. We left in disgust. Went to the Stap and had a beautiful lunch. You need to get your act together if you want customers.

Had a fab night in here for Christmas night out with the girls from work, the staff are really nice and helpful.

We booked the upstairs function room for our Family Christmas party , we have had party’s here before and weren’t disappointed perfect sized room for a gathering , staff very helpful , food was very nice we opted for the gold option with both hot and cold food all was very nice . We will definitely be booking this room again

Food was very poor and not as ordered. Service was poor. Felt like I was a pain to the staff for ordering 4 meals. Steak was well over cooked and of poor quality. The peppercorn source with the steak was the smallest serving I’ve ever received. Good pint of Stella though.

Friendly polite staff, drinks too expensive, music system needs bringing into 21st century, full of nana's dressed very loudly. But hey its Boro. Crack on, but some birthday offers would of been pleasant or at least a weekly special offer, so off we go in search of said offers/better priced drinks Big love, Mik.

We had heard good things about the poverina so decided to give it a try, we where not disappointed, nice quiet pub,no banging music or rowdy drunks, just people enjoying some food and drinks. The staff where very friendly and happy, the food was excellent and great prices which is hard to find nowadays. we took my mam with us, who is a massive food critic lol, she got fish n chips, loved it but couldn't finish as too big for her. We got burgers, really tasty and service was fast too. The deserts just finished us off perfectly. All in all a great pub, good food and really nice staff. We will be going again. A+++

We visited the Poverina today! The fish and chips were amazing and also the steak pie was delicious! Piping hot! Staff were very friendly and the place was spacious and immaculate! Large screen tv and drinks were spot on! Value for money. Will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work Charlotte Sue and all the team 👍🏾😘

The pub has an amazing atmosphere and the staff are always very chatty and friendly. I usually go here with mates to watch the sports on the 4 screen tv which is awesome for watching that kind of thing. The food is amazing too, cant get any better than the pov!

I recently had my baby shower here and I honestly couldn’t of asked for better The full staff went above and beyond for me and my partner to celebrate our first daughter coming 💖 Massive thank you to Patrick who helped us book at such a short notice and organise the food menus that catered for all different types of food from hot to cold (5*) PS the egg mayo was out of this world 😂💖 The food was outstanding and couldn’t of faulted the price at all, overall I highly recommend this venue for any occasion as there function room is brilliant Perfect service by bar staff, very high standard of cleanliness and I can’t wait to book our next occasion here soon !!!

Food is amazing! Park for the kids which is a bonus. But the part that made it for us was Sexy Sarah behind the bar! Phwaarrrr I would eat her up!

I got the small fish chips & peas, my husband got the chicken baguette. The fish was lovely, the batter melted in your mouth, my husband said the baguette was really nice. Both meals were very tasty. Would definitely return.

Went last Sunday, the service was great and I was happy their pool table had contactless. Got a Sunday dinner and was less than impressed, I have to say. I've only heard good things about here, so I was very disappointed with what I was served. Paid 25 quid for myself and my partner to be served what looked like a microwave meal. Roasties and meat were tasty, but the Yorkshire was way over done and there was absolutely no seasoning in any of the veg, or in the mash. Had to be given a 4 pound refund due to them not having pigs in blankets as advertised and the gravy was far too runny. There was about 7 people in at dinnertime on a Sunday, so I should have taken the clue.

bank holiday monday. 1 staff on. was not fully. now i know why. ordered food. we were the only people who ordered. the meal took 45 minutes. the Chef did not know the menu. Hunters chicken was tiny, it came without onion rings. The burger bun was stale, no sauce came with burger. the fish n chips came with no peas or tartar sauce. worst meal served in years. stay well clear of this badly run pub.

Had a 18th birthday party the room was beautiful, the buffet was excellent, and the disco was brilliant all provided by the Poverina at a very reasonable rate. The staff were friendly and professional and very helpful. Hopefully I will be able to book for a 21st soon

Met a few friends for drinks and there was a DJ on, what a great atmosphere. They were also serving pizzas late so we grabbed one before we went home, was surprisingly nice!

Always a warm and friendly welcome when visiting the Poverina. Staff are polite and courteous - have to give special mention to Charlotte.

Had a really great value Sunday dinner, everything nicely fresh and hot. Did not have to wait long at all. Nice atmosphere not rowdy the drinking chocolate was very tasty. We had a baby with us and one of the members of staff kept the child entertained whilst she was working. All the staff were really friendly and are a great asset to the establishment. I will certainly return and I would strongly recommend other people try this place out.

Friendly staff on entering Vegan option had all items removed, I.e. not substituted despite menu stating Vegan serve available. Staff unaware that jalapeños are suitable for vegans Vegan food had to be served first Food order was wrong. Minimal attempts to rectify the issues. Food quality ok 3/5
