Myself, my husband and a couple of friends ordered coffees and teas, and we all had something to eat and the service to order our food was very quick which was good, however whilst drinking and eating food a waitress came along with a big tray and started to clear our crockery from the table and we said we were not finished however she didn't go away and at that time we saw no queue outside of cafe in main shop and cafe had plenty of seats available. 2 of us had bacon sandwiches and they were stone cold and the bacon was so tough to eat. We are regular customers and today the service was awful!

My husband had a full breakfast , I had a bacon bap. Unfortunately the breakfast was lacklustre . The bacon was dried up , my large bap was lacking in bacon three shrivelled up pieces. Will definitely stick to cake. Everything seems as it had been hanging around , dried out.

The food is generally good, especially the chips. Jacket potato was tasty, but be aware the salad garnish comes with a dressing on. We went early before it became busy and the food came very quickly. Child's meal was good, apart from the ever diminishing number of sausages - used to be 3, then 2, now only one. Pleased they have taken on board serving the beans in a separate pot. No pizza, despite being told in the summer it was only on the winter menu. Ketchup and mayo bottles were all virtually empty - nothing was done about this, despite telling a member of staff. Tables were cleared much quicker and I was impressed how thoroughly they cleaned the highchairs after each use. Prices do seem to be going up a lot and £2.35 for a small bottle of coke is a bit much.

We didn't end up staying and eating in this café unfortunately. There are kiddie lunchboxes available, great for littler ones but probably not substantial enough for 6yrs+. The next option was a limited hot food kids menu which also appeared to not be big enough in portion for 'in betweeny' children. The adult menu was neither appropriate. I cannot say however that the food looked unappetising but it was quite pricey. Maybe stick to a picnic or food from the farm shop if you know you've encountered issues like this before.

Went there today for lunch with a friend. Had been there before and lunch had been excellent but today was dreadful. My friend had the linguine which she said she was sure was tinned spaghetti, looked awful. I asked for a smoked salmon/cream cheese sandwich. Slice of dry bread, with a small spread of cream cheese and some smoked salmon. A few salad leaves with minimal dressing, no tomato or cucumber. Two scrapings of carrot and two scrapings of something I couldn't identify, and a few crisps. Two non alcoholic drinks for nearly £20. Won't be going back there again!!

Used this cafe but found the prices on the high side. Quite busy and it has a captive customer base as it’s within Frosts garden centre.

Had a very disappointing lunch here today. 1. On arrival at 11.50 there were only breakfast menus out, causing chaos, but soon rectified. No longer a menu displayed on the wall which everyone could have looked at at the same time.2. There were no fruit juice cartons for the children which would be free with their meal - were just abruptly told to have flavoured milk (which our 2 don't like and are unhealthy) or water. No apology or price reduction, just told they were out of stock. It's half term - there are going to be a lot of children there.3. Three out of 4 meals were not as ordered. The ham and cheese ciabatta had no cheese (this had to be replaced and then eaten when everyone else had nearly finished), the tuna and spring onion filling on jacket potato had no spring onion (a bowl of chopped spring onion was brought), and for one child's meal I requested the beans in a separate bowl - this was written on the order but didn't happen. The plate was taken away and came back with the beans (now cold) in a bowl but the sausage still covered in bean juice. I know this may seem finicky but a lot of children have an issue with it - luckily we gave up at this point and she just ate it.4. The salad consisted of just green leaves apart from one sliver of carrot.5. No children's pizza, which they had been looking forward to as have had before - because they 'only have that in the winter' ??? What is that about?6. The water dispenser has been moved and you now have to push through the queue to reach it.Any one of these would be mildly annoying, but it just seemed to go on and on and was stressful. Have had minor issues before, but never like this and we feel very disinclined to eat there again. On the plus side, the food was reasonably tasty, especially the chips.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and the cafe was busy. Quite a queue which isn’t a problem but I find they frequently run out of items, both this and the last time I visited the food that both my husband and I had chosen had run out. Then you have to decide on an alternative really quickly or your holding up the queue. Would be so easy to put a note on the blackboards saying what they have run out of so you can decide whilst in the queue. The food was okay but not great. Chewy jacket potato skin and not particularly generous with fillings. Side salad very nice though.

The chips are lovely. The rest of the food, jacket potato and a pizza, were OK. Salad with both was largely lettuce/rocket. Service was a bit hit and miss. You order at the counter and get drinks, then get a number and hot food is brought to you. Several groups of people who came after us got their food before us - took 35 minutes. Tables remained uncleared - we had to move dirty plates from a table.Nice décor, but the raffia chairs are dirty. There is an automatic door that opens every time anyone walks past letting in the cold air - don't sit near it in winter.

This is the second time we’ve visited and didn’t have a particularly successful visit the first time but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and return. It was busy - Christmas season has started in earnest - and there was a lengthy wait in a queue to be served. Wasn’t particularly bothered about that, but did notice a number of dirty tables.I think the food is overpriced for what it is - nearly £20 for two sandwiches and two hot drinks - we didn’t bother with any of the cakes, but there is a wide selection. We found a table - with a load of dirty plates and cups and waited for a while for our food to be served. The whole time sitting amongst the dirty plates. But when our server arrived with our food he walked away without taking the dirty plates with him. A disappointing visit, we won’t be returning.

Stopped for coffee and found it fairly busy. I liked the decor. There were a few flies hanging around and unfortunately they don’t sell a flat white.

Some of the staff are just plain, straight up rude with attitude. If you can't serve customers and carry out simple requests, you shouldn't be working in a customer facing job.

Great store but, who is responsible for the parking? Impossible to park on the family area as half of it is occupied by those without children. When asking the staff, no one cares… ideally people should respect those parking spaces and don’t park if you are not caring a child. It is impossible to open the door and assist your child in a conventional parking space.

Great improvement to the decor with the addition of the roast carvery. We have been twice and both times roast potatoes empty! On both occasions we decided to wait the 20/30 minutes for the roast potatoes to be cooked but we felt sorry for customers who had plated their dinners and were waiting patiently for the potatoes when one customer asked the server if she could replenish only to be told they had a problem with their supplier and the potatoes wouldn’t be ready for 20 minutes! If this is the issue then customers should be informed the wait for roast potatoes when they purchase their carvery tickets! It’s bad kitchen management, it’s very popular now and everyone enjoys it but the kitchen needs to make sure there is a steady flow of food to replenish! Besides the roast potatoes it’s beautiful food and we enjoyed it although we’ve learnt to check the carvery to make sure they have roast potatoes or how long it will be before they are replenished before we buy our carvery tickets and then queue up.

Friendly welcome and swift service. Appreciated! Stairs to next level seem a little 'vertical' but people seem to cope!
