The weather in this area has been pretty grey and wet lately, so it was good to take advantage of a better day to visit the garden centre/nursery and we decided to lunch whilst we were there. The Potting Shed is bright and welcoming, and on a busy day, we were lucky to find a free table. There is an excellent varied regular menu, but we opted for two of the quiche daily choices which were very good. They came with well presented side salad. Friendly, efficient staff added to our experience and we will be back.

This is a lovely place to go for coffee and cake. Quick service and nice staff. Good for families with lots of room for children and also has outside seating for the summer.

Cafe is in a separate building to the main garden centre and extremely busy when we visited on a Sunday before Christmas. Although there was a queue snaking from the cafe entrance, entry was managed by a member of staff who only admitted customers as tables became vacant. There were also sufficient staff to ensure tables quickly cleared, floor areas swept and tables served (food and drinks counter ordered). The reasonably priced menu wasn’t extensive (see my pics) and drinks served in disposable cups due to the xmas customer volume but I rated our visit as “excellent” overall mainly on the basis of how well run it was.

Whilst I understand some prams are quite big I found it absolutely ridiculous that I had to get my sleeping baby out of the pram and hold him on my lap the entire duration we were in the cafe as he cannot use the high chairs provided as he is too small. I would have left but our order had already been placed. It also meant that the pram was left outside in the damp conditions. We had tucked ourself in the corner and tucked the pram under the table as if it was a seat or how a highchair would be. Due to this we will not be returning as I can’t hold my baby and drink a hot drink.

Helpful, friendly and a delight to visit. Had a delicious bacon, sausage and egg gluten free sandwich and a slice a gluten free Victoria sponge. Daughter has sausage roll and Angel cake. Coffee great too. Will definitely visit again

The potting shed is a fab and I think reasonably priced. Tea for one, cake and cappuccino was just over £7.00. The cake was absolutely delicious. Best for a long time. Earl Grey and Lemon! Do try it!! The actual restaurant needs a makeover. It’s tired and not a particularly relaxing place to sit. Stand out were the staff...Keydell needs to look after them as they were fab. Shout out to all but particularly Lewis on the day for us was just lovely.

I have visited this cafe many times and always found it good value for money until today . I have never seen such small potions of cake anywhere I have visited at nearly £3 per slice !! Service is good and location is good however won’t be returning after today which is such a shame .

Very good selection of homemade food with mostly good quality ( the piece of bread pudding I had was large but dry, I suspect it had been hanging around a while) Having ordered our choice we then saw people being served the most amazing looking ploughman’s lunches on a huge tray each, unfortunately this was not listed on the menu so did not know about it until too late. Most prices are reasonable but I thought £3.50 for a milk shake was steep. Would still return and recommend.

We always use this cafe, it is worth the 20 minute ride from Portsmouth. The food is excellent, wonderful homemade cakes, breakfast, wraps, sandwiches, hot food and coffee! The staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. The service is quick, and it is reasonably priced. A comfortable atmosphere, and well behaved dogs are allowed (a bonus)! See you all soon!

We needed to buy a few bits from the garden centre so thought, why not nip in for a bit of tea and cake, so not disappointed, the staff were very friendly and although we were too late for breakfast and too early for lunch, the cakes and savouries that were available didn't disappoint. A lovely cuppa and cake was had, very tasty, well worth nipping in if you're close by or visiting the garden centre.

Me and a few friends wanted to have a catch up over a coffee so we decided to try The Potting She'd. Some good reviews and it's part of The garden centre which was nice to look around after and see all the xmas bits. We sat down in the cafe just after opening at 9.30am and got a couple flat whites and Americano we also got some mince pies and millionaires cake as well. The mince pie and shortbread millionaire was tasty so recommended to all. We paid and sat down whilst they got made and bought over. Easy service and nice friendly staff. Bit chilly in the winter so take a coat but soon got busy and warmed up. Lovely atmosphere and tasty cakes. Lots more to pick from will be back soon to try the food and more cakes!

Fabulous cafe in Keydell Nurseries, been here several times, the food and staff are very friendly and the food is great! Recommend the salted caramel cake, and the wraps are the best I've tasted for a long time! They do an 'afternoon tea' for children and they absolutely love it! We can also take our dog, which is a blessing as the weather gets colder and we don't have to sit outside. But if you want to sit outside its very pretty the way they have decorated the garden and they provide blankets too! How amazing is that! We will see you all soon! All the best!

A nice relaxing break after traipsing round the large and varied Garden Centre (or for fuelling up before the trek), with good food and friendly service. Tables are cleared/cleaned promptly in my experience.

I was blown away by this little gem of a cafe, situated inside Keydell Nurseries, surrounded by a pretty garden, with rustic outdoor seating and a welcoming varied interior. There is a dog friendly section, bird watching bar, comfy wing chair section, in fact everyone is catered for. The food is delicious. Really high quality for a cafe, superbly presented and packed with flavour. I had the Eggs Benedict with crispy bacon and blue cheese shavings and it was perfect. Well worth a visit, perfect for a quick cuppa or a nice meal and a great place to stop as a family. Highly recommended.

We first visited The Potting Shed (on what we discovered was their opening day) whilst browsing in Keydell Nurseries and were so impressed that I did a review which is linked to Keydell's website.

Gosh, a little spruce up of this cafe and the prices have gone silly! £7 for a poor jacket potato which was brown inside where it had been kept warm so long, and it was just lukewarm! The side salad was just a few strips of lettuce, two slices of cucumber and two tiny tomatoes. The smallest pot of coleslaw, with not more than a dessertspoon of salad dressing. £1.70 for a mug of tea.

I came here to do the Christmas Market, and Laura was very accommodating, and bringing us drinks to keep us warm! It's a fabulous little cafe inside, and also sells local products, which I think is brilliant.

Lovely looking cafe. Food was good enough. Completely ruined by the incessant bell ringing whenever people entered or left. What is the point? It’s a small cafe. Never experienced anything like it. Certainly won’t be going back. Unless I want to get a headache.
