Lovely, spacious pub. Very clean. Fab service & food. And they do Blue Light discount 😁 only downside is the 1000 steps up to the ladies toilets (I thought that was just a Wetherspoons thing?!😆)

First time dining here as i was invited by a friend for her birthday. great food (especially the chicken stacker burger!) and great staff who can't seem to do enough for you. The manager was great and made sure we had all we needed. I will be using this place again. It's definitely my new favourite spot

Dirty tables and cutlery disgusting food macaroni cheese like plastic kids meals awful eaten out in a lot of places this has to rate as one of the worst

Came out for an impromptu meal with my mum. Ordered our meals and drinks from the table, which was seamless. Food was good & arrived quickly.. The table was incredibly sticky so we asked for it to be cleaned. The member of staff cleaned it promptly and we were very grateful although after it dried it felt tacky again but the worst part of the visit was the wooden floors were so sticky, our feet just stuck to it. I appreciate drinks get spilt, but I'm sure they can be cleaned so customers don't stick to the floor. We will always return here, we've been visiting for years and enjoy it but we've never visited and found our feet sticking to the floor!

I went for my birthday with my daughter and the barmaid totally blanked my daughter she was serving everyone and she just looked at my daughter then looked away so we left, I was supposed because we have used the pub before and not had a issue but will not be using it again.

Great place to visit. Been a few times for meals, staff are lovely, very friendly & helpful. They’re great when celebrating birthdays too, always go above and beyond to make sure everything is lovely for birthday boy/girl. Meals always very good, hot & tasty and good value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit 😀.

We've been going to the potters wheel for many years. Food isn't always great if I'm honest but sometimes it is. Its recovering well after Covid and its always pretty busy.

My work friends and I went for tea here, lovely staff, friendly and very helpful, really good choice of menu, reasonably priced, good atmosphere.

Wouldn’t recommend, kept waiting at the bar whilst ignored by staff, witnessed others being ignored at the bar, breakfast came out incomplete with the butter for the bread under the egg so completely melted, coffee was cold. Fair to say we won’t return

Not been here for a few years but popped in today for lunch. Had the sizzling Tandoori chicken skewers and they were absolutely delicious. Cleanliness, service, atmosphere and staff were first class. Will definitely be coming again

Came for food with my boyfriend, our server was Niamh, very polite and a very kind hearted person. She made our experience x10 better and is a massive credit to your team. She was constantly working hard and never stopped but always made time for us if we had any questions or suggestions. Thankyou Niamh!

Staff very friendly, & informed. Venue was busy, but delivery of food, didn’t take too long. Reserved table, had a ticket, with my Christian name on, & time I booked it for, which I believe, is a nice touch.

Came for my hen night meal.with my close friends . Had a great night Tommo the bar man was so nice and service with a smile always . Highly recommend

This was a funeral we attended. The food was pretty basic but tasted fresh. We enjoyed it.

To be honest needs new bar staff obviously not even trained right when trying get served waited for 10 mins at the bar trying get girls attention while she rolled a fag then went on to serve other people after. Won't be returning

Lovely venue and staff are very friendly. Have been twice now and plan to visit again. I have been to other Sizzler venues but this has been the best yet. A good selection of food, served as you like it. Relaxing experience.

We went here for dinner and i had the rib and rump and it was absolutely gorgeous the meat fell of the bone and the rump was done to perfection. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. All very polite and pleasant will definitely be going back

It is what it is. Cheap and cheerful. Minimal attention to cleaning tables and training staff. Not that the waitresses are rude just that they dont get the concept that people eating are paying customers. Ultimately you pay for food and to be served. A little training in waiting-on etiquette really would go a long way. Even in a pub!. On saying that it is popular and bar staff friendly.

Booked table for 8pm for food and drinks. Arrived at 7:45 and went to order at 8:05 but got told the kitchen closed at 8pm which was NOT mentioned when booking. Food we wanted was not available so had an alternative. When we went to pay they still tried to charge us for our original meal which was £3 more expensive (ordering for 5 in total so it adds up). Majority of the food was cold. The only leukwarm thing on the plate was the onions below the steak. Everything else was cold. One of the people with me ordered the corn on the cob as a side which was ice cold. Almost as if just reached out the fridge and gave to us. When we went to eat no cutlery was provided and got told we had to get up and get our own. There was no service really other than food brought to the table. Do not go here.

Enjoyed until we ordered desserts. Waited 20mins, asked at the bar and were told the ticket had bern misplaced. Waited a further 20 mins. Had a refund, not very impressed.

Went for a Christmas Eve breakfast with my family of 13 food was good the staff were great especially Lisa they went above and beyond for us even if the kids got a little loud playing there bingo game to keep them entertained

There were 9 of us and no-one enjoyed our meal. 2 of us had steak which was fine but the chips were cold. We had to wait over an hour for the food to arrive and then it was cold and even the fish was overcook but nevertheless cold. No, definitely would not return.very disappointed.

Had a lovely time last night. We visited as a family group of 7 to celebrate my Mum's 80th birthday. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming as usual and our meals were served quickly and were hot and delicious. Staff did a great job with our request in bringing the cake out and sorting out the final bill. The atmosphere was lovely and not too busy or noisy for a Saturday evening. We all had a great night, thank you. We will be back again soon.

Nice pub for a quiet pint. Lisa is brilliant, been there for years, makes it all worthwhile.

Brilliant set up in these circumstances

Popped in for a pint on the way back from work. Busy pub and restaurant. The staff all seemed very competent and the service was good.

I'm not a local, my son and I popped in for a quick dinner, we were greeted with the most sullen staff I have ever met, the young person that served us would hardly respond as polite as we were, the menu is standard pub chain fare which we knew prior, however I order pork belly and the meat I received tasted like something between bacon and gammon and extremely prepacked and preformed the vegetables were sloppy, we both left our meals and went elsewhere!

Great food great prices add 25% off voucher so we could take our family out

Good staff here always seem on the ball, always approachable, friendly and helpful. The food is about right for what you pay, with some good deals on at set times. Also a good crowd use the pub, with a good sense of that local spirit you sometimes get about a place. All good, with drinks sold at a good price and a good place to get a tasty bite to eat.

Sorry I don't like to normally comment but ,after twice having food poisoning from here I have to say ...so went here a month ago and had the salad with seeds etc and chicken skewers..tonight a few hours ago had ckn skewers with rice and veg ..I had to run the toilet ,I won't say much else but I know it was food poisoning..sorry but the kitchen staff need training .

i really do think this local pub has turned a corner in the past few months so deserves an updated review. well done to those behind the bar who have done really well to make this pub feel like a local with a really good atmosphere again. well done.

We go to the Potters Wheel quite often. Usually at lunchtimes. The food is lovely. Especially the fish and chips ! The staff are nice and friendly. Comfortable surroundings.

Went today for a lunch with a good friend, The food was cold despite a complaint we were just ignored. Despite not many customers we still had to wait for our food, although being local we won’t be going to this establishment anymore.

Went after food had finished. Found all tables cl3an and tidy friendly bar staff. Great atmosphere

Visited after football training and sat outside. Waited nearly 20mins for a drink whilst listening to people swearing. Eventually got our drinks and sat outside, only to be greeted by a very drunk woman swearing and ranting - all whilst we had our two children with us. Afraid, we won't be going again...

Raw egg,yesterday's onion rings and under cooked gammon,service was fast though,probably would have taken longer if things were cooked

We were a party of 20 for my brothers wedding. So we had booked a buffet, which was very nice. The staff were helpful they set the cake up and layed the tables. Everything was as it should be

The Potter's Wheel" pub in Porthill is such a cozy and inviting spot! Wendy and the staff are super friendly. They make you feel right at home! The food is top-notch, with tasty burgers, steaks, and even veggie options. Plus, their drinks are on point

Called in with a mate for lunch . Found the staff very friendly and polite and the food was excellent i had the bangers and mash and my mate enjoyed a mixed grill . Definitely recommend this place.........hopefully they will start the karaoke nights again .

Didn't have any food, but we got there about 7.40 and we were told they were not serving any more food, thankfully we only went for a little drink.

The food was very good for the price. The areas were open which meant a disabled relative had plenty of space to get into the seat, nowhere was cramped. We have been there a few times, mostly the service is really good, on one occasion it was a little slower service than we expected but still good.

No bitter that i liked now they don't sell Pedigree. I will not go back for this reason. Lasagna was small, chicken massively over cooked, not many chips.
