The Post House Cafe in Horsham

Fabulous salad bar and lovely food, as ever. Cameron’s service with a smile was a particular highlight. A great spot for coffee, brunch or lunch.

Could be so much better. Food and drink were fine. Previous customer’s plates were not removed for a very long time, table was not wiped down, just not great customer service. Toilet needs a good clean. Didn’t find the staff overly friendly or welcoming. No one there to say hello, you just assume you need to find yourself your own table and have to ask to even receive a menu!

Poor quality and stingy to say the least. The prices are ridiculously high, and do not warrant the goods. Staff were slap dash, and actually come across as being rude. For a pastrami toasties which is nearly £8, what a ***take to receive this, an old salad serving on the side with some brown lettuce. Won't go back. Do not recommend.

Have been here before and struggled to get a seat. Today it was half empty which in hindsight was rather telling. Prices gone up a lot. My mother said her coffee was fine but my tea was so weak there was no taste at all to it and the accompanying milk was in a dirty jug with black lumps floating in it. Cleanliness and good hygiene are a minimum requirement in any eating establishment. Won't be going back.

On our way down to Brighton, stopped at Henfield hoping to find somewhere for a spot of light lunch, well The Post House Cafe did not disappoint. Couple of lattes and quiche & Chicken salad was perfect , we ate in rear garden service & staff very friendly, all in about £15 pp. would highly recommend.

A brief visit with colleagues for a late breakfast. Friendly service and very tasty sausage baps. Also lovely sausage rolls as a take out for lunch. Recommended.

Visited yesterday. Lovely breakfast and gluten free sandwich. Visited today and received what can only be described as a congealed mess instead of scrambled eggs. A mixture of overcooked yolk and undercooked/raw egg white. Complaint dealt with professionally by server but the most disappointing/upsetting part was the very grumpy chef who delivered the second offering-an overcooked broken up omelette. No apology in fact no words at all. Needless to say will never return.

Excellent coffee shop / cafe next to the post office on the high street with a small garden with tables at the rear. Very nice seeded flapjack.

We love going to Post House Cafe for light lunches, catching up with friends over coffee and cake, or birthday celebrations. It has a winning combination of delicious food, convivial atmosphere and great staff. We often recommend it to others. In the summer the garden is a peaceful spot for lunch. Today we had a light lunch: the very moreish hot sausage/vegetarian rolls (made freshly on the premises each day) were a meal in themselves, attractively presented with a dressed salad. The drinks are very enjoyable and a variety of seasonal specials are available. During our brief wait for lunch to be prepared, I observed the staff: despite it being very busy they were efficient and still took the time to be courteous and friendly to customers. This has been our experience whenever we have visited. The cafe is understandably very popular with locals, but I also know of people who come out from Brighton and Hove to eat there. They serve wonderful salads , toasted sandwiches and brunch, and the homemade cakes are glorious! There is also a good selection of items for vegan or gluten-free diets. Thanks again, and we will be back!

The toasted sandwiches were delicious and the cakes looked very tempting. However, we were seated by the back door so it was extremely cold and blowy. We repeatedly had to get up to close the door, which incurred the wrath of one of the staff, who then proceeded to slam down a plate of food on our table in anger - not our food, I hasten to add. They also forgot to deliver a part of our order and were somewhat disgruntled when this was pointed out. Will not be going there again or recommended it to others.

Superb service today. Really welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed our visit again after a walk from Horsham to Henfield. We will be back!

Local parking free if you display your pre paid parking badge, short walk less than 5 mins. Fresh salads meat and vegan options aswell as gluten free options, good coffee variety of cakes scones and other savouries. Seating inside and out pleasant welcoming staff pleasant experience would highly recommend. 😊

My partner and I frequently eat here, but Sunday's visit will probably be our last. I had the pastrami toastie, and expected it to contain more than one slice of fatty pastrami, which I wouldn't have fed to a dog. The tasteless salad garnish was simply an exercise in box ticking. I wasn't expecting a banquet, but I object to being completely and utterly stitched up. Everything about the place was tired and uninspiring. We were victims of their own success. Complacency has set in.

I bought 1 slice of takeaway cake in a box to give to a colleague as a treat, unfortunately the slice given was in my opinion very small and stingy for the price I paid which was £3.95. I was too embarrassed to actually give it to my colleague or to ask for a larger slice.

Lovely coffee & cake. Friendly and efficient service. Would definitely recommend. Lunch menu looked very good too. Local friends visit regularly.

Always helpful and friendly staff and great selection of food. Have visited several times and will again. Great ambience whether meeting with friends, a coffee with children or family lunch.

Delicious cheese and pastrami toasted sandwich. The Americano could be a lot stronger. Nice setting in the garden.

Visited today as we were passing through. A wide selection of food and atmosphere tempted us in. My partner is vegan (for health reasons) and made up a meal of avocado on plain sourdough toast as there weren't any specific vegan options. Unusually plain green tea wasn't available so she had a sparkling water. Slightly unusual for this type of establishment which had some nice salads. I ordered a sandwich on granary (the choice was that or sourdough) and it turned up on sourdough - disappointing! By then we had waited 20 minutes so didn't bother to change it. I should say that my coffee (an Americano) was good and the staff pleasant. I doubt that we would go back......but a couple of small changes would help.

We visited three times in November 2021, twice just for a coffee and once for lunch. Each time was perfect, just what we wanted. Food and service were excellent and prices reasonable. Seating outside in garden at the back as well as two separate rooms inside. Lots of character too. Recommended.

This is definitely a blessing for Henfield. The coffee is excellent, and the lunches are fresh and delicious with a wide variety of sand which fillings, salads, quiches etc. My one quibble would be the cakes which are not the best I have experinced in...

In these difficult times it was the first time in weeks that we were able to enjoy a coffee and a sandwich on our bike ride. Both our toasties were excellent and we shared an amazing marmite sausage roll...delicious. Friendly service we will be back...

We always stop here on our way through Henfield. We recently stopped here to pick up a takeaway coffee before we set off on a walk. Really nice coffee with proper oat milk. So many tasty savory and sweet cakes and pastries to choose from...

Stopped for breakfast for our first visit on my wife's birthday. Great reception and placed our order. Lovely staff. The scrambled egg was superb. I mentioned to Richard it was my wife's birthday and he made a lovely gesture of giving her a mini bottle...

I just stopped off for as cheese scone and glass of wine. Best cheese scone ever! I sat inside but there is another inside room and a garden area. Well worth a visit.

Just had a great lunch here. Staff very friendly and polite. Fish platter with hot toast was delicious as was the sour dough toastie, very good home made cakes. A ‘must’ if you’re in Henfield.

I ordered 2 avocado feta seeds/chilli on sourdough toast and 2 coffees. This came to £26. It was tasteless and without chilli. Furthermore there was no soap in the loo which particularly in current times is really bad. Needless to say we won’t be returning....

100% the best cafe in Henfield, and surrounding areas. Extremely high quality Food and drinks, especially the coffee, and the staff are some of the most attentive, caring and friendly that I have come across. Special thanks to Caitlin who served me today.

During the Covid 19 we were struggling to ""a decent tea or coffee". We went back to a recently opened place with garden access and have spend 6 ofthe last days calling in for a great garden adventure. All be it with very close friends....

Excellent quality of food, good friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere.I will definitely return, as I had only popped in for a quick cuppa, but succumbed to the temptation of the appetizing cakes!

Saturday brunch with the family in this bustling and friendly coffee shop. Outstanding bacon and sausage rolls made with meat from the local butchers and served in a lovely sourdough roll. Kids love what can only be described as the best brownies they’ve ever had!...

Sat outside in the back garden in the sunshine. Really good choice of homemade cakes. Had the apple cake with ice cream! Would recommend others to come. Very friendly staff.
