Fantastic little bar, the drinks and food are very reasonably priced, bar staff are excellent and just a general all round good atmosphere. I would definitely go there again

This would have been a great review of a hidden gem bar if it wasn’t for the reserved party of probably 30+ people taking up the VERY SMALL bar for several hours, being so loud and then somehow being allowed to do jarring karaoke at 7pm - not even at the end of the night. Completely ruined everybody else’s night, anyone else trying to enjoy a drink here had to sit outside in the cold as the reserved party took priority which should not be allowed to happen. Servers were lovely but whoever the new hands are in this pub - as this has recently changed - should get their priorities straight

I love it here but tonight there was a private party. The whole thing should have been closed for a private party but it was still open to the public. Public were trying to enter but it was packed with this party that took over the place. Not their fault but management should either have it closed for private party or open and no private booking. Kids everywhere with a plunger of all things and awful karaoke.

What a transformation! This place is so cool, great chilled out atmosphere with a great beer selection. I’ll be back.

What a lovely little bar everyone was friendly. Staff was welcoming and make you feel at home. Never had to wait to be served. Brilliant atmosphere. Severed lots of different beers and ales. All of them tasted amazing. With definitely be returning to this hidden gem in Wickford.

Ordered a gift pack for a local friend and Jamie from the brewery/bar went above and beyond to make it a special delivery. If this is the service offered in the bar then don’t hesitate to visit. I’ll be there as soon as I can !

Went in there last night (early Saturday evening). The young lady behind the bar was nice and the manager was helpful with advice on the German beer I had. Would definitately revisit.

Went past this on xmas eve while back in town visiting the parents and thought I was hallucinating. Made way back there with friend and was pleasantly surprised by the service, the prices and the quality of the in-house beers. Bowlers hat and coachman were personal favourites. A sorely needed venue for Wickford.

One of the friendliest bars I've ever been in the selection can be slightly ltd if you are used to a very wide range of ales and ciders, but what is on offer is of good quality and more importantly at the right temperature check the opening hours before you go

Absolute gem in the middle of terrible pubs...great ales..cider and so reasonably priced.....the only place in wickford that's clean fresh and have an idea of what they are selling 5/5 and the staff are lovely....beautiful outside seating....so refreshing....100% local support from me 💪🍻

Lovely family owner bar with a good selection of locally brewed ales. Ian's great and very helpful. Grabbed a few bottles of the Blonde Maid to take back for sum friends. Bar is drink/ dine in as of the 18th of May if you're thinking of visiting.

Great very friendly micro brewery, nice atmosphere and a fantastic meeting place for a pre gin and tonic or a pint. Great in the summer when you can sit outside. Good selection of music played at a good level. Good tasty ales and my fave bottles of lager.

Best bar in Wickford! Hope their business does well cos I’d love to see them in a bigger, nicer venue.

First visit to this new taproom in Wickford. Nicely presented and very friendly, knowledgeable staff. A good selection of their own brew beers plus guest ales and ciders. I noticed a small selection of spirits available plus some bottles of well known lagers in the cold fridge. Decent place to visit for a beer and a chat.

Very friendly family-run local micro brewery serving their own beers plus ciders and beers from other 'local' breweries. They also serve wine and some spirits including a selection of gins which are very reasonably priced. The bar is nicely decorated and has some seating outdoors.

I don't want everyone discovering Posh Boys Taproom because we might never get a seat but we wish them every success. Great range of locally-brewed beers and ciders, as well as other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and important for me are their German beers that are sometimes hard to find. The location isn't great as I suspect Lower Southend Road can be busy during a weekday and parking difficult but it is a quiet oasis on a Sunday and probably evenings too. Maybe some pies etc. to add to a limited range of nibbles would be great. Staff always seem friendly and were even very polite once to someone who thought 'tap room' meant there was a dance studio at the back of the bar!!!

If you live in Wickford or are just visiting (and you want a fantastic pint of ale) then you have to go to the Posh Boys taproom. It is only a 5minute walk from Wickford Station &buses from Basildon, Southend, Chelmsford, South Woodham & (even) Stansted Airport stop within 1 minutes walk. Admittedly there is not a lot of seating (there are a couple of tables outside &a few tables inside) but I have always been able to get a seat on each occasion I have visited. You come here for the friendly service from all of the staff & for the excellent range of beers they have on tap (in the barrell) There is usually a choice of around 6ales on tap (including 3brewed on the premises &3guest ales from local breweries) but they have a decent selection of other drinks available too (both alcoholic & non-alcoholic). All prices are very reasonable for Essex. Although they don't serve food (well they do crisps, nuts etc..) the very good Marco Polo Indian Restaurant is opposite. If you like your beer, you just have to try the "Posh Boys"!

Visited on the 13th of June, and wish I had not bothered. A bar should be first and foremost about beer quality. Unfortunately their own Blonde Maiden? 4% was totally lacking in both flavour and condition. A complaint that members of CAMRA at our meetings have mentioned on many occasions. The Kings (Mighty Oak) was being mis-sold as it made no mention of the brewery. It was vinegary, and again without much condition, though the very helpful bar staff said it had only been on sale for four days. It is my opinion that they should not have (eight) different beers on sale at the same time. even though the bar uses pins (36 pints) The Mighty Oak Tap Room runs with 4 or 5, and the Crouch Vale Tap Room 19 with 6. The bar itself is attractive, and could/should be a success is draught ale starved Wickford.

Cracking local place for a drink. Friendly staff serving their brews but also other drinks which means non beer drinkers can enjoy as well.

We are currently sitting outside in the sun. A lovely pint of locally brewed Blind Butler and watching the world go by. Every town needs locally run businesses and Wickford has been crying out for this sort of place. The bar has been nicely fitted out and has a good selection of locally brewed beers and some staple bottled favourites. If you haven’t tried it yet get along and you will be sure to get a warm and friendly welcome.
