The Portobello Inn in Worcester

Today we took our residents to the Portobello for lunch. Tammy really looked after us and made the whole experience stress free and enjoyable. Food was good, hot & reasonably priced. Great lunchtime experience we will be back.

Lovely pub grub served nice and hot,plenty of choices and reasonable prices.Good deals on the bottle beers and lovely staff!

Came he with family gathering. Have to say the food was OK, nothing outstanding but decent for the price. Staff were really friendly but the service wasn't great and think when things got busy food got lost and served to the wrong tables. We had an hour and a half wait which it appeared they forgot. Beer selection is ok but nothing different amd no ales of note. Cheap and cheerful justbdonr go when it's busy

My daughter, my 12 year old grandson and my self visited this little maston pub for the Thursday night steak deal. The steak was tender and cooked how I asked, the chips were very warm and tasty. My daughter did not want peas and the half of tomatoe, so they gave her a small salad instead which was very nice. The drinks we had with the meal deal were extremely excellent and the value of the Thursday night was well worth the visit. I will definitely be back when I visit Worcester next. Thank you 😊

This pub is not like it used to be, the food is nothing special.My biggest complaint is the staff were wearing masks, but the management weren’t, and were serving food and drinks to the table, with no mask. Should be shut down, think it will be soon anyway, as hardly anyone in there, not like it used to be.

The staff are lovely here and very welcoming, and the management handle everything so well! Will be visiting again, drinks are also well priced if you just want to pop in to a lovely local pub.

Three of us regulars have been frequenting this pub for about four years. The web site and menu state that food is served until 9pm. Today we decided that due to the current situation and the shortage of customers, we would support our local pub, and dine there instead of at home. We arrived at 8.45 only to be told that they had finished serving. The other issue is that there is not anyone around in the lounge area to serve.

We had the lunch club option , the fish & chips was ok , but the Hunters Chicken was dry & over-cooked , & difficult to cut up , it was like eating what was cooked yesterday & warned up to-day , & not hot as one would expect ! The waitress when told did or said nothing about it ! The dessert was reasonable . A shame as otherwise excellent value for price !

Called in to see and new management has made a difference, food greatly improved and overall atmosphere nice due to subtle changes.Will be resuming my weekly visits from now on

just when you thought this place couldn't get any worst its been a dive for years to be honest but this latest lot they have decided can run a pub is a joke food is terrible staff rude stood at bat for 5 minutes before anybody even saw I was there and all the bar girl was doing was playing on her phone been told landlady is well known round the area I have lived in Worcester all my life and been to some ruff places but this place takes the biscuit Marston's your name is still over the door and it is giving your company a bad name I for one wont be visiting again that's for sure

Popped in for a beer after just changing hands and was very impressed with how the new landlady and team are doing. The place looks so much cleaner and the beer tastes great. Will definitely be popping back again.

Just called in on off chance for lunch with the family, under new management today! Food was excellent good value for money! Friendly staff will be coming again *****

Have used weekly for at least the last year and have been getting good pub grug and drink in a friendly local but recently kitchen seems to be closed on a whim. Dont bother ringing first to check as it may still close. Happened to me twice!!

Firstly we got there at 4.15 having checked it was open online only to be told food wasn't served until 5pm so had 45 minutes to wait. The pub was empty and we didn't mind waiting but perhaps a more prominent mention of when food is served from for those browsing the web as only showed as open. (that we could see) We chose a booth with a tv assuming it may have something on to amuse our 7 year old during the wait but it didn't appear to work. The table was really sticky and in need of a good scrub. So we went to the toilets to wash our hands and use the facilities but both ladies toilets had no toilet paper. This was soon rectified with the staff. The young lady behind the bar was fantastic at the service she provided both serving drinks and food. When we did order food it arrived nicely presented and piping hot. We would recommend the sides of chips covered with buffalo buttermilk chicken and beef chili and pulled pork. The gammon was good too (note a lot of pubs do both egg and pineapple with gammon but this meal only had either/ or) The only disappointment was the lasagne it was very stodgy. The evening offers on curry nights and other options would appeal to a lot of customers. So all in all a good local pub.

My family decided to go and have an early evening meal and as the sun was shining we all sat outside to eat our meal.The wide selection of meals was very good and on Thursdays the offer on steaks was very tempting.The food when it arrived was very good hot and freshly cooked clean plates all round showed what a good meal it was.

Good food, well cooked and friendly efficient staff. Has improved a lot over the last 2 years.But if yesterday evening (Saturday) is anything to go by, avoid if you want to eat promptly.Ordered at 7.20.Starter didnt arrive until 8.20.Then another 25 minutes for the main course.Great food...and on a weekday really prompt. But they need to do something about Saturday evening. They should advise on delay time when you arrive. You then have the option to go elsewhere which we would have.

Having just seen the rather pathetic comments from worcester4life, I have to come to the defence of my local pub. Ignoring the 'schoolboy' grammatical errors, the comments about the 'only gay in the village' is unnecessary and totally wrong. If you really knew him - you would know. We have tried a number of different options off the menus and we have loved them all. I would also recommend the steaks.. Yes, if you are used to eating in 5 star hotels and Michelin star rated restaurants, you may come away feeling a tad disappointed. But this is a pub and the food is easily of a higher quality standard than most pubs in the area in my opinion. This opinion is also shared by the many, many people we see eating there. Some people should however note: Just because the food may not up to your exacting standards, it doesn't give people the right to talk rudely to the staff. Not clever at all.

We’ve been here twice in a matter of weeks to meet friends/family, basic food like burgers and lasagne are ok cheap and cheerful but steer clear of any steak, chicken, chicken nuggets all very poor quality food.

We've been for lunch a couple of times this month - the scampi, peas and chips are superb in very pleasant and recently refurbished surroundings. The Portobello is a very good place to go if you want lovely food and a very reasonable price.

Portobello is a regular haunt for us when we want to fill our tummy. Large menu selection, very good value, and food always tastes nice. It's nothing special but good honest pub grub. Staff are really friendly and meals always served quickly

Visited on Saturday 3rd evening for dinner with the Family

Went early evening a couple of days after they re-opened after a refurbishment. Could still smell paint but not a problem. Got drinks and picked a table. Having decided on food went to order at the bar. 2 of the 4 choices were unavailable - would have been nice to have been told this beforehand. However food was well cooked and hot and good sized portions. Again some of the sweets were unavailable.

What a great community site. A real hidden gem. Function room and sky sports. Food was great and lovely to meet Sarah and Adam.
