Bottles Wine Bar & Merchants in Worcester

Attended the wine tasting event for Valentine’s night. We hadn’t been for a while although had attended 4 times previously over the past couple of years, when it was hosted by Joe. The new host was lovely Lewis, and this is not a criticism of him, but it was definitely not as good as previous experiences for several reasons:- 1. The portions for the cheese boards were much smaller - we are not big eaters so we don’t usually eat beforehand, but these portions left us hungry. If youlook at previous photos you’ll see the difference - no charcuterie any more, just cheese. There also used to be a big bowl of mixed crackers, but now 6 or 8 crackers only. Pickles have also gone, in favour of a dollop of pickle (which was delicious to be fair) and bowl of fresh mixed olives now replaced with just green olives that look like the packet variety. I assume this is to encourage people to order from the optional menu, which leads me to my second point… 2. The delivery of food was disruptive to the flow of the event, as Lewis had to pause when it arrived. 3. Loads more people than before - I understand that this is to maximise profit, but it made it much more impersonal; less opportunity for interaction with host, which was one of the aspects we really enjoyed with Joe. Lewis was entertaining and knowledgeable and obviously put a lot of effort into the presentation, but it wasn’t as relaxed and the atmosphere was lacking. 4. Wines were disappointing - I know it’s a matter of personal taste, but I always liked at least 2/3 previously, and always bought one, whereas I would not have bought any of last nights selection. The reds were much too cold to appreciate the flavour and I felt all except maybe the champagne lacked depth. 5. It was cold! Even with a full room, it failed to warm up as I expected it would. In summary, we were really disappointed, particularly as the prices have increased. We looked forward to attending, but sadly, this is likely to be our last visit.

Went to this place to try the Turkish food that is recently on offer allegedly. Went at lunchtime. There was only other one couple in the place . Barman was cheerful enough. But the menu looked pretty boring. Some of the food was unavailable. Some of the other food was also unavailable because it hasn’t been too frosted! We decided we weren’t interested and just left before we’ve even tried it. Food sounded uninteresting and absolutely no atmosphere at lunchtime.

Went to eat at the new Chads gnashery within Bottles. Excellent food, special type of unusual pizza. So good, went back 4 Saturdays in a row, says enough!!

Very special pizza and good quality, skewers are also very impressive, I went there 3times in one month, just nice, good to share with family and friends

Lovely cosy wine bar with really friendly staff. They’ve just introduced a new menu called Gozleme which is a Turkish flatbread with different fillings and dips! Absolutely gorgeous! Perfect to have with drinks when you don’t want a full meal. Highly recommend everyone to try it!

Came for a works Christmas do. Had a lovely evening. Atmosphere was good, food was amazing (especially the freshly baked warm corn bread and the steak skewers). The chef and his wife came out to see us, they were lovely, very talented and brought us more bread! For me, as I was only on soft drinks, there was no menu to say what was on offer, I couldn't even see a fridge to choose non alcoholic drinks. It would've been good to have mocktails,1 especially as they offer cocktails. I think, for drivers this could be improved. Overall though a great night, in a nice place.

We went here several times as part of Worcester Music Festival (the place was acting as one of the venues). Large, crowded, noisy, but the bar staff were on their game, fast and efficient. Not a huge choice on keg for craft beer but just enough to keep me happy.

Not bad wine, I wish they had more food options.

Attended a 50th Birthday party last night at Bottles. The venue was brilliant. Bar staff were very welcoming and didn’t leave anyone waiting. Door staff were smart, well spoken and made us feel safe throughout the evening. Will be returning in the future. First experience in Worcester and it was very very pleasant one!

Four of us had a really enjoyable Cocktail making class yesterday (Saturday 27 April 2024) with Ross in the bar. Woud highly recommend bottles, whether its for a drink, cocktail making class or a wine tasting event, this is the place to be. The staff are welcoming and friendly with special mention to Jo, Joe, Ross and Kieran.

Nice bar, relaxing in the afternoon early evening and gets more lively after 8pm. I personally really like this bar as it has a good mix of people and ages. I've never had food so I can't comment. There is a few tables outside which is nice when the weather is good. They have a good selection of red and white wine and lagers. However they don't do any IPA or ales. Which is a little disappointing. If they had a small selection of bottled ales or IPAs, I'd probably go here more often.

A brilliant night out for our team meeting! Joe was friendly, super knowledgeable and just made the whole experience better than we had expected. Super value for money and would highly recommend!

Used to be my favourite bar in Worcester, but visited last week and went to order a bottle of wine to see the cheapest bottle at £29. Nearly fell off my stool. I'm not a cheapskate as we normally like to visit and buy food, but wine by bottle starting at this price is a joke for a town bar. As such, I am currently looking around for a new favourite bar.

We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting event at the Bottles shop. Joe was an amazing host who was friendly and informative. The selection of wines we tasted were excellent and the cheese board was a great addition that added to the taste and experience.

Wine tasting with Joe, really enjoyed our 2hour session, got to try about 12 different wines, Joe was really knowledgeable and passionate about wine, we learnt lots. The cheeseboard platter was a lovely touch. We bought some wine and will definitely be using a decanter from now on after Joe’s advice. Highly recommended, excellent value for money 5*

We arrived at the shop 5 minutes early and proceeded upstairs to the venue. It was laid out to suit your booking ie 2 people - table for 2. 4 people- table for 4, etc. After a quick introduction we had our first wine. A TV was set up at the front as we had a presentation throughout the night with photos and various information on each wine we tried. There were eight different wines which were paired with various sweets. We met Alex from the sweet shop who supplied them, she was great and we will definitely be visiting there too! Fabulous night, met some lovely people, had some great wine and sweets 🍷🥂100% recommend.

We visited for my birthday. Didn't start great when we were told we couldn't have a complimentary glass of wine on arrival as he'd run out of glasses! Hard to believe as its a ticked event and other people had one. Joe was very obnoxious and loud. He kept interrupting Luca and treated us like we were in class. Luca was very informative especially on a one to one basis. I think he was overwhelmed by Joe to be honest. We enjoyed the wine tasting but portions were small, Joe seemed to drink more than anyone! We were hoping for a glass of wine at the end as we've had at other tastings but sadly not to be. Small amounts left over in the bottles were on a first come first service so again not everyone got some. Overall not worth the money my daughter spent. Very disappointing 😞

Thought we would pop in for a drink before a meal elsewhere. There were 4 people behind the bar but all seemed to be concentrating on the order that was in front of me which was cocktails, after 10 minutes of waiting and no sign of being nearly served, we left. No one behind the bar made eye contact with me or said they would be with me soon, I was just ignored, 4 people on one round of drinks seems excessive, I just wanted to order 2 beers which wouldn’t of taken 2 minutes, will go elsewhere in future, poor basic customer service.

The Tequila and Taco night was fantastic. A lot of thought had obviously gone into selecting the food and drink, both were superb! Definitely would recommend 👌

The Wine and Cheese tasting is a great experience at bottles. Joe is very knowledgeable in the wines he sells, I highly recommend you pay a visit and enjoy the wine tasting yourself.

There is nothing not to love about the wine tasting events at Bottles. Interesting and fun, not pretentious, just a very relaxed evening with people that love wine! Perfect way to spend the evening. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brilliant place great atmosphere and very good knowledge

Don't know what's happened here but this place used to be the place to go on new street, not anymore. The manger obviously did not want to be there he was just rude and unfriendly like most of the staff. Won't be returning until something dramatically changes, much better bars close by I'd recommend.

We did a wine tasting with Joe in the bottles shop and it was amazing! He's really knowledgeable and we learnt so much. The cheese board that was included was a nice extra touch that went really well with the tasting. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who likes wine.

Advertised as a Tapas wine bar. However they buy in from across the way. No Tapas. Mexican style food. Arrives cold. Not what was expected. Very disappointed.

A great spot to celebrate my birthday with friends. I was able to reserve a couple of large tables and bar stools which is where we stayed all evening. Drinks were reasonably priced and the background music was fab. Thoroughly recommend this Worcester Wine Bar for future visits.

Me and my wife have had a few good nights in here when staying in Worcester. Mainly Sunday nights. Had a night in there last Saturday and was great. Great bar staff. Nice old school tunes played by a dj. Only thing that spoilt it was a miserable angry phil mitchell wanna be little doorman , kept coming round trying to take drinks that where not finished. When told he didn’t even apologise just gave me a stare and walked off !! Not sure what a doorman’s doing collecting glasses anyway. And taking them while drink was still in them is just trying to cause trouble in my option. Not prevent it. Definately git the jack russell syndrome this one !! Stick to trying to look hard on the doors and leave the rest to staff who know what they are doing and have manners. Shame really as it’s always a gd night.

I did the wine tasting experience at the Bottles wine shop. We had a fabulous time - it was well organised, involved interesting wines, a knowledgeable guide and delicious nibbles. It would make an excellent gift for anybody who enjoys drinking wine. No prior experience needed!

Love Bottles always have a good time, lots of laughter, plenty of food & alcohol, friendly service and lots of Christmas atmosphere

We visited (or tried to) on a Saturday night at about 10:45pm. As I approached the door to enter the front door, someone dropped a glass and it shattered on my foot which resulted in cutting it. (Why allow glass outside?) The bouncer then refused me entry saying I was at fault for stepping on the glass (I had to step over it as it was all over the pavement) and was so incredibly rude. Even refusing me access to basic first aid. He refused to give me his badge number, refused to get his manager and actually physically laid his hands on me to push me into the road after I had asked to explain nicely. He swore at me, threatened me with the police and even told his colleague to ignore me. Please Bottles, think about your door staff. Zero safeguards in action to protect customers and a dangerous attitude to women.

I love this place, and especially love hanging out in the garden in all weathers when I'm there! Staff have always been friendly and helpful. Post work drink there on a Friday has become a bit of a ritual!

We had a fantastic wine tasting experience at Bottles for a Hen Do. The tasting was tailored to an Italian theme we'd requested and each wine selected was delicious. Joe was great, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic which made the whole tasting even better. We all agreed it was the highlight of our weekend, thank you so much!

Popped in for a nice bottle of wine - welcomed with a smile but unfortunately the experience was ruined by the staff allowing a select few allowing their dogs to bark and whine constantly. I am a dog owner and lover but having to listen to untrained and unsocialised dogs ruined our afternoon after spending over £20 on wine !!! We would have stayed longer but couldn’t wait to leave !!

Honestly, I was so excited to have a rare date night with my fiancé and even more excited to come to my favourite bar. Then, imagine my disappointment when we walked through the doors to find dreary looking furniture that looks like it's just spent...

Had reserved a table for a staff get together. Picked the right night as it was Jazz night. Great choice of drinks and you could choose food that was prepared and delivered from Chester’s restaurant. We decided to share some meat platters. Loads of food...

Got seated by security got my order taken waiting for Pan pizza sat hear for 25 minutes got my order taken by another member of staff still no drink and member of staff stood talking next to my table for 5 minutes about how member...

I enjoyed my experience at Bottles and would recommend to anyone! It has a nice and friendly atmosphere with attentive table service. I look forward to my next visit.

I must start by saying I've always enjoyed Bottles and usually visit whenever I'm on a night out with friends. I visited on Friday Eve and it was quite busy. A number of us ordered white wine, which was ok, but one ordered a red....

We came here as a group last night to celebrate a birthday. From booking the event to leaving the building the service was fantastic. Joe was a brilliant host and made the night for us. Excellent value for money, well planned out and great food....

Great selection of wines and champagnes, and some great mid week deals on bottles. The malbec was lovey and the atmosphere was nice.

The tapas selection is varied. The dishes are cooked to order and the portions are good. The wine selection is good as you would expect from a wine merchants. The bar staff were friendly, polite and welcoming.

Had lunchtime treat of a platter of mixed meats and cheeses along with a bottle of crisp dry rose The platters are big and plenty of warm baguette The gorgonzola cheese looked fairly innocent but boy did it have a kick It was around 1.30pm...

It's rare to find a serious wine bar today but Bottles is it. The range is extensive and surprising as well as priced reasonably. But, and this is key, the live music on the evening I visited, was exceptional. Polly Edwards has a vocal range that is amazing and her phrasing is wonderful. For someone so young her presentation of lyrics far exceeds her years. Let's hope someone with the right contacts spots her.... Hers is a talent that deserves success.

I have reviewed Bottles before, but felt I must share again after we had lunch there to celebrate my wife's birthday. I went down the fishy route, having calamari, prawns and fish bites. My wife is vegetarian and had three options suitable for her including some absolutely beautiful hummus. The food was truly excellent and was surprisingly reasonably priced with the 'multibuy' offer. Add to this the fact that our host was perfectly attentive and extremely helpful, it made for a really special occassion for her. Nice atmosphere, good location - well done and thank you!

Love this place. We visit when we're in Worcester. This time, we had a wine tasting session. We were presented with 5 different types of wine to try and they were all really good. Our Sommelier was knowledgable, informative and good company. We had some tapas, which was good, but a little too much fried stuff for me. Overall we had a great time. I have one comment though. When we arrived, we tried to order a bottle of Premier Cru Chablis, but none was chilled. We then tried to order a bottle of Cloudy Bay, and none was chilled. We ended up with a bottle of prosecco. This is fine, but the business lost money because of a bit of disorganisation. That said, I would definitely recommend this place.

There are indeed a lot of bottles at Bottles, an impressive selection of wine from all around the world. However, Asahi beer got the nod over Cab Sav on the day.

10 of us visited Bottles last Friday for a wine tasting event courtesy of our Chairman and his wife. We arrived and had drinks at the bar but were advised on certain drinks before tasting so not to ruin our palette. After being seated Jo our Somelier explained the agenda and so the evening began. Not being a wine drinker it was a very interesting and informative evening with a quiz thrown in for good measure. Tapas arrived 3/4 of the way through and were delishous and and had obviously been thoughtfully chosen to compliment our wine. Highly recommend evening for either business or personal events.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tapas and Spanish Rioja. 4 of us dined, relaxed easy going atmosphere. Recommend the fish bites and halloumi fries, although it was all delicious! Barman/waiter was attentive and helpful. Definitely will be returning soon.

Been to this place a lot. Fantastic wine selection with excellent staff. Who no there onions. The food and bar snacks are fantastic. Really great place to have a chill out in. One off the gems of Worcester. # LOVE IT

Independently owned wine bar with a very extensive and truly international wine list. Wine shop inside. Very interesting range of wines, spirits, Ports and Gins. Sample wine evenings too. Nice menu for meats and cheeses to compliment the wines in a small and relaxed atmosphere at all times of day. Worth a browse, especially in the day, for a casual post shopping drink and bite. No other wine shop or bar like it in Worcester. Worth a visit.

Friends and I went to Bottles Wine Bar for good wine and Tapas. We were thoroughly impressed with not only the extensive choice of great wines on offer but the choice of Tapas to compliment these wines.

A great selection of wines (as you would expect) with friendly, welcoming staff and tasty, inventive tapas. I know chips don't count as tapas but they were exceptionally tasty!

First time visiting Bottles this evening. Relaxed place, nice wine and lovely tapas. Plenty of food and very tasty. Will be back for sure.

I'm a big fan of tapas and this was a superb lunch. Welcoming staff with service that is both unobtrusive yet on hand if needed. In the picture we have halloumi deep fried with sweet chilli, prawns with garlic, mushrooms and spinach in white wine & cream sauce, and lamb kebab laid on a lovely salad accompanied by complimentary bread and pitta basket.

We have visited many times for lunch whilst shopping in Worcester. The tapas is brilliant. Freshly made and very tasty.

I went for lunch having not been for a few months. The tapas style menu is good with plenty of options for non meat eaters. The food was freshly cooked and properly hot on arrival. The glass of wine was a good complement to the meal. They now have a wine tasting option using a pre paid card. As far as I know this is the only one in Worcester and a great idea! Prices are also good. The staff were helpful and friendly. I will definitely be going back soon!

We have used this place a few times now - sometimes for a light lunch, sometimes just for a glass of wine or five and sometimes to enjoy live music on a Sunday evening. It's a very comfortable place to be mainly because the staff make you feel very much at home. They are also quite engaging and go beyond the norm with their understated but sincere friendliness. Food is very good from a small menu. You wouldn't go here for a big family meal!The choice of wines is outstanding. It's also in a fairly vibrant part of town, and a relatively short walk from our home, which is a bonus. Nice one!

Visited with a friend after seeing an advert for their new food menu. All I can say is wow it was all fantastic. Ordered quite a selection from the tapas menu and it also gets served with a basket of fresh bread. It was tasty and filling. Shared a bottle of wine which was good value and service was friendly and all the staff were knowledgable. Will definitely be back !

Comfy sesting, well spaced out. Great selection of wines with knowledgeable staff and tasting facilities. Sharing board options represent good value for an early (or very late) snack.

Dropped by to quench a thirst and as at same time as England rugby surprisingly the bar was relatively empty, much to our benefit. Shame we didn't have more time over the weekend or during the afternoon but would certainly recommend as great choice of wines form different levels of price to suit wine lovers
