Browns at The Quay in Worcester

The dining experience was 10 out of 10. The restaurant was beautiful to look at , the standard of cleanliness was perfect. The service was also 10/10 , the staff looked very happy to work there. The food was delicious, it was the best steak I’ve ever had. The salad and vegetables were of a very quality . It was an exquisite meal. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We had the 2 course lunchtime deal. It was an absolute pleasure. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. Service was first class. Ambience great. Couldn’t fault anything. Will definitely return!

Took some friends from Hereford last week for lunch. We had lovely time food was fantastic so was the service. They all said that they would be coming back again with their partners.

We had an absolutely lovely stay and dining experience. We were a party of six celebrating my husband’s birthday. Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff, especially worth a mention… Christos and Richard. The rooms (3) were all very comfortable, well furnished and had lovely views of the river. We started with cocktails which were brilliant and went on to dine on the most delicious food. The following morning we had a lovely breakfast too, again served by the most friendly and attentive staff! Thanks so much to you all!

We decided to stay here on our way home from the airport as it was horrendous rain and we were so glad we did. The restaurant is very cosy and perfectly designed. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful and friendly . The menu had lots off choice and very reasonably priced and our food was excellent very tasty and clearly cooked by a competent chef. Be aware the portions are very generous. The wine by the bottle was excellent also. We look forward to returning soon.

Once again, the outstanding catering and warm welcome provided on the eve of 17th September to my 26 guests was outstanding. Also, the attention to detail and glass of Prosecco made everyone feel truly welcomed and comfortable. As with last year the team under the direction of Richard Hill created another memorable preconference occasion, making everyone feel valued and appreciated which sadly is a rarity in many restaurants in this day and age!

Had an unexpected upgrade to a suite, which was incredible! We felt like we were being treated as special guests from the moment we arrived. The room was absolutely stunning, with a great view over the river. The staff were brilliant throughout our stay, I can't say thank you enough for the way we were looked after. Breakfast was fantastic, and served till 11am which allowed us to get that all important parkrun in on Saturday morning! Perfect.

We visited some really nice restaurants during our recent week in Worcester, sadly this wasn’t one of them. Our main issue is with wine by the glass. We ordered one large Rosè and one large Red at £7.95 each, which is about an average price per large glass. We were surprised to finish them quicker than we usually do and queried with the waitress whether they were actually large and she suggested they were. However, whilst she was technically correct that it was the larger of the two sizes they offer, what they serve is not the standard large size you would generally find in bars and restaurants. They offer two sizes 125ml and 175ml. Everywhere else we visited, a large glass was 250ml with 175ml being medium/small. It is fine if they want to serve smaller sizes but should surely price accordingly. If they are charging for a medium what everyone else charges for a large then they are vastly increasing their profit per bottle. We felt ripped off. It’s not as though their wine was any better then we had elsewhere to justify the price. And clearly, the waitress had the opportunity to explain this when we queried the size but chose not to. With regard to food; two of us had garlic & rosemary chicken and one had lamb rump. All found to be bland and lacking seasoning. As a coeliac, my only option for a gluten free starter was roasted squash soup which was pleasant enough but nothing special. We had looked forward to our visit but we found the atmosphere to be unwelcoming. It was a disappointing evening which didn’t live up to our expectations

We had a terrific time at this birthday Sunday lunch. Ambience was wonderful as always, great food and excellent professional service from the lovely happy waiting staff, both old and new, we were a large party and they all coped admirably! Such a beautiful well run hotel. Been before for a wonderful meal for 5 ladies celebrating an eighty birthday. 2 champagne trees,3 course meal . Outstanding. Last Friday celebrating my birthday my son took us to Browns for lunch. Great food, champagne tree,3 course food. Wonderful. This time we had a two bedroomed apartment there. Fabulous! Breakfast next morning. Brilliant choices for breakfast, nothing too much trouble for the staff. Well done to them all.

My wife and I have been coming to Browns for decades - it never disappoints! We’re now nearly 60! I own a business in Worcester and have always loved the city since I was a teenager. We recently stayed overnight, including a meal and couldn’t fault any aspect of it. Strangely, we only live 15 miles away in a town called Bewdley, but really enjoy the escape to Browns. I guess you’d call it a ‘date night’ with the wife! We wouldn’t eat or stay anywhere else. It’s like being on holiday! Richard, the ‘maître d'hôtel’ is always extremely welcoming and attentive. We were greeted with a glass of fizz and then shown to our boutique room which was lovely. It was very clean and well furnished. Always great being in the centre of town! Our food was served promptly and arrived piping hot. We do enjoy the surroundings of the restaurant and Browns riverside location. Both my wife and I very much enjoyed our food as always and can’t fault the quality or the service. I would really encourage visitors to give Browns a go. Sometimes it’s hard to find an ‘all rounder’ in a city location. Browns offers great food, service and boutique rooms at a very affordable price!

Love the outdoor seating area, service was quick and loved the fact parts were dog friendly

We had a short stay at the Hotel, the room we had was comfortable, well furnished and clean. All the staff we interacted with were super friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening, but the bar offers a nice range of drinks. the breakfast was delicious.

Excellent food and service would recommend

What a nice hotel in a great location! Easy 10-minute walk (if that) from the Worcester Foregate Train station. We arrived two weeks ago and entered the restaurant part of the hotel. We immediately liked the vibe: large windows overlooking the river, pretty bar area, high ceilings, and touches of bling. We left our luggage and headed out to see the sights of Worcester. When we returned, the very sweet Italian man at the counter asked us to wait a minute. He returned saying that he had upgraded our room to a two-bedroom, two bath apartment next door. With an elevator! It was beautiful and clean and so nice to spread out our things. Because we were leaving early to catch a train, we didn’t think we’d have time for the included breakfast. Mia in the restaurant helped with that. We reviewed the breakfast menu and figured out which items we could pick up tonight, store in the apartment refrigerator, and heat up in the morning. I returned to the bar half an hour later, and Mia had foil boxes of ham, cheese, yogurt, granola, bread slices, and a fruit salad ready for me. I appreciated the way the hotel flexed to help us out. Highly recommend!

Difficult to find. Lovely room , very comfortable bed. Shower, lovely and warm. Helpful staff. Complementary glass of prestecco on arrival. Complementary bottle of water in the room. I left my glasses there, I phoned and spoke to a lovely woman. She said that my glasses would be posted back to me

There were 3 of us. Sat outside by the river. We had sunday roast, topside beef, very undercooked for our liking. We could not cut with an ordinary knife or a steak knife. Blood appeared on our dishes. Now it cost £18.50 for roast dinner and we had 1/2 pint of cider. Cost each of us 3 people £24. There was no mention of service charge so either we paid £5.50 for 1/2 a pint of cider or they secretly charged service without mentioning and we did request a receipt, but the reciept is not a breakdown but total so you only know what you paid in total. Also, we had to request horseradish, it was supposed to come with the meal, portion was small, had to make an additional request.

A great meal and on a Tuesday mains are half price. Lovely food, a very comfortable restaurant. Quick service by attentive staff

We were meeting up as a family for drinks alongside the river. Took an absolute age for a young girl to take our order then even longer till we received our drinks. One of the drinks was even wrong, no apologies just took the drink away and swapped it. Owner came along later snarling and shouting at the young girls that our chairs had encroached the council line, could have easily spoke to us to explain the issue, didn’t go again!

It's dark in here! Food is OK, but really too expensive: we thought that it was about 33% overpriced. I tought the wine was even more expensive, really. Though we had a pleasant meal, the atmosphere was ruined when around 12 middleaged, mildly inebriated men were seated behind us. After that we couldn't hear ourselves think, let alone speak. Service was OK, but not very interactive.

Fantastic food and great service

When we arrived, the entrance was locked! On seeing us struggle with our luggage up the steps, a waiter came to our rescue and unlocked the entrance and took us up in the lift to the landing of our room where he left us to find the room on our own. The room was lovely and well decorated. The shower gel, shampoo and moisturiser were lovely. A nice touch was that we were given a glass of Prosecco on arrival. We stayed for 3 nights. Breakfasts were delicious and the music was quiet and unobtrusive. We had dinner on each of the three nights. The food was delicious and well presented BUT the music was VERY LOUD!! It was like being in a night club. People were shouting at each other to be heard over the music. My husband is diabetic and prior to our stay, we requested a special desert for him which we were told by the manager, Richard, would not be a problem as all dietary requirements are catered for. There was no special dessert on the first night and the waitress looked blankly at us when we said it had been arranged and. She said dietary requirements are not catered for. The next morning, we saw Richard and he personally made sure that a special dessert was available for the remaining two evenings. There was no recognition of us by the waiting staff from one day to the next. The setting of the hotel is beautiful and it is very convenient for access to the city centre.

Terrible service, over priced drinks, bar staff blaming a busy bar, with no one at the bar! Not our problem, sort your staffing issues out as well as your customers service. Disgraceful service and establishment

Spent a lovely evening meal by the river here.

No issues about the location and venue itself but...... A capachino coffee was incredibly small but at £4!!! So so overpriced. Almost a expresso cup and no biscuit come on people dont rip tourists off

Called in for lunch. Found a lovely table next to the river and service came very quickly as did drinks and food. Food was excellent quality if a bit more expensive than we would usually call good value. This was not what you would call a cheap lunch with drinks ( a glass of wine and a zero% beer) costing quite a significant portion of the overall bill. But quality food and service went a long way to make up for the overall cost.

Lovely meal ,in a beautiful location, we only dined so unable to rate the room but I can imagine if the food and service was good the rooms would be lovely too .

Im struggling to say about the taste, but the presentation of “seafood salad” seems like it for a child. Im not sure what level of restaurant is it. Cocktail was nice. Im not sure if I come back for food.

Amazing Sunday lunch. We had the traditional beef and a vegetarian roast. Both we so tasty, well prepared & presented with 3 sides, cheese cauliflower, green vegetables and extra gravy. The ambiance of the restaurant can’t be beat. It’s a very elegant room, with a view of the water. There is a large car park next to it and the Swan Sanctuary (for a stroll after a huge meal 😊) I would highly recommend making the trip here to dine. We also ate a wonderful vegetarian hot breakfast with our accommodation. The accommodation is beautiful. Spacious & quiet with a great bed.

We stayed overnight here on our way be bicycle from Lands End to John O’Grouts. Richard checked us into our room which we had booked online and got our bikes securely stored. He was so kind and even upgraded us at no charge to a suite - quite a surprise. The room was spacious clean and with the most comfortable bed and linens. Lots of hot water in the shower with great water pressure. Breakfast was really good with a very large selection of- my wife had the eggs florentine and I had the full English vegetarian version. Neighboring tables had the full English and it looked great too. The hotel is right on the river and very close to the historic centre. I would stay again.

We only went for a meal the food / service was fantastic we will be back and we will stay over next time it’s a great location too

The Mrs and I have stayed here three times now and we absolutely love it. The rooms are very clean, tidy, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The location itself is fantastic, parking a few meters away and a lovely walk along the river right on the doorstep. More than that though the staff are fantastic! Very welcoming, charming and polite, nothing is too much trouble and genuinely some of the best customer service I've experienced. Next time we are in Worcester we'll be staying here for a fourth time that's for sure!

We had a fabulous stay in the apartments this weekend. Great venue great location and excellent service. We cannot wait to come back again.

The rooms are really really nice, only gave it a 3 because it was SOOO hot and stuffy (no aircon) they did give us a fan to use though. Very nice hotel and staff are nice too. Very expensive though.

Really bad service that lets down food that was better than expected. We were ignored by wait staff for so long that the kitchen had stopped serving by the time we’d asked to order. It’s a shame it used to be great.

Had lunch on 04/05/24 for mine and my Mums Birthday. The service we received was exceptional and the food phenomenal. Waiting staff looked very smart, nothing was too much trouble and cannot fault anything.

An overnight stay in Worcester we booked a table for lunch with friends the following day. As a couple we decided to go for dinner the night before to try out the food, we were not dissapointed, the tomato soup was so tasty, followed by the Meze sharing board for two, so much food it would of fed four, we didn't manage to finish it but thoroughly enjoyed the great selection. Lunch the follownig day was just as good I would reccomend the fish platter, delicious and again plenty of it. The staff were attentive with a friendly manner. Thank you

We hadn't had a date night in a while so I checked previous reviews and menu (for gluten free choices) and I wasn't disappointed. It's a lovely restaurant with attentive, approachable waiting staff that looked after us really well. The meal was delicious presented beautifully. We had a 7.30pm reservation so had plenty of time to relax and enjoy our evening together. We'll look forward to our next visit. Thank you Brown's.

Great atmosphere, very busy and excellent service

I cannot comment on the rooms as did not stay the evening with my girlfriend. However that being said, we went for a date night and had the 16oz Chateaubriand. I have to say, this was easily, one of the best steak dinner I have ever had. Starters were amazing, Steak was perfectly cooked, fries hot and seasoned well, vegetables tasty, sauces immaculate, just an amazing dinner. I think dinner with wine, cocktails, start and desserts was £150 and I would have steak there every week if I could, it was absolutely amazing.

My wife and I went for an evening meal , the staff were lovely and efficient, for starters we had scollops and soufflé, both were nice and hot. For mains we had steak and beef medallions, steak was cooked to perfection like wise the madallions, we were full so we only managed a sweet between us of sticky toffee pudding , all in all a great night and great food.

Lovely stay. Room was clean ,spacious and stylish decor and comfortable. Lovely view of river. Dinner was tasty and well presented and waiting staff charming. Cocked breakfast presented with care. Fruit salad was a work of art. Waitress serving breakfast charming.

Visited for the burger night deal with my partner. We both had the pork belly burger and upgraded fries. The burger deal is great value (£12 for burger and fries). We finished with a sticky toffee pudding. The food was very nice, nicely presented and tasted really fresh with the rocket and pomegranate seeds. The staff were friendly. They added a service charge on to the bill. It says it's optional but they do not ask when they come to take payment if you would like to include it or not, or when they bring the bill which was disappointing. I think more transparency would be better with this. We felt uncomfortable bringing it up ourselves to ask to remove it so we paid for it. I personally think with the audience that quite cheap burger deals target, these customers might not want to pay service.

Visited here a while ago for Mother's Day with my family. We had a lovely evening, couldn't find any fault with the food and the atmosphere, simply gorgeous venue. We did have some minor slip ups with the service (they forgot to process our desserts) but it was an incredibly busy evening for them, can't blame them and they did apologise at the time... Plus, y'know, not as though desserts go cold! Anyway, joking aside, I plan on returning for more of the food and cocktails! Thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for some fine dining in a warm and lively venue with friendly staff.

We went for steak night as a family of 5 for a special occasion. Steaks cooked to perfection, well presented and wonderful service. We loved the topped fries and onion rings too.

We dived in for a spot of lunch and my friend and I ordered the vegetarian sharing platter. It was really excellent : dips, salad, humous, falafel, goats cheese, pickles, olives, salad and cheese stuffed peppers. We spied other diners enjoying the most impressive Sunday lunches. A must we think

Dined here in the evening for their Steak night with some clients , stayed the night in their rooms and then had breakfast. Everything was amazing , overlooking the River Severn. The rooms are luxuriously decorated to a high standard. The food and service for dinner was amazing and good value . Breakfast overlooking the river just completed a perfect stay. Highly recommended and will definitely be back

The location, views of the river and excellent ambience of the restaurant & bar area make this my ‘destination restaurant’ in Worcester. Lovely stay at Browns - It was near perfect. Check in was simple and was given a welcome drinks. Following onto this, we were in the Severn Suite and the room was sensational. Huge bed, massive room and lovely bathtub in the middle. The views from outside were great. Only downside is that the spotlights did not work - but this didnt massively matter. It was really easy to find with a long stay car park for a tenner for 24 hours right next to it. Breakfast was also included in the price which was more than reasonable! Would definitely recommend!

There was no flavour in the linguine and my brownie was covered in cherry very unhappy 😡😡

We chose Browns to host a Silver wedding anniversary meal as we were looking for somewhere upmarket for our family celebration. We were not disappointed! The staff there were very welcoming and made us feel instantly relaxed in the sophisticated surroundings. The restaurant was fairly busy and had a wonderful vibe about it. Some of us were impressed with the extensive cocktail/mocktail menu, it was lovely to have so much to choose from. The waiting staff were extremely efficient and remembered precisely who had ordered each drink or meal. They were very attentive to everyone's needs. It was the £10 Pie night special whilst we there which seemed a popular choice with other diners, but we preferred to select from the main menu. Again there was plenty to tempt you, but three stand-out dishes that really impressed us were the Baked Camembert sharing board, the Pan seared Scallops and the Beef Fillet medallions. These dishes in particular were exceptional and a credit to the chef! Browns made our evening a thoroughly memorable one for which we are very thankful. We will definitely be returning in the coming weeks to sample some of the many appetising specials on offer.

Came on Valentine’s Day for work. Staff made me feel welcome. Great service. Room was fantastic as was the food and service. I’d definitely stay here again. James

A very well run and good value high end restaurant. Welcomed by friendly staff, nice round table. The menu was extensive and the midweek offers are great value. Never been to a restaurant where you can chose you steak size and pay by the ounce! The whole evening felt like a nice pampered night

One of the best places in Worcester.

Turned up without reservations as a last-minute venue for a first date. Staff were really attentive and helpful, we ate a Christmas dinner and had a couple of drinks, food was lovely, and service first class, will definitely be revisiting.

Having the most luxurious meal at the Brown's this evening.. From the moment of Greetings at the entrance,, to the table side service for 2, the wine to their beautiful presented plates.. Superb!!

We have recently spent a 3 day break at Brown's on the Quay and the whole experience was excellent. The staff were attentive. We were served on several occasions by Eva who we would like to mention in particular. She was professional and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, infact we could not fault any of the staff. Meals were delicious and well presented and the room we had was excellent. We will certainly be returning.

Our third visit and as always absolutely delightful. The moment we walk in, it feels like home from home. Room superb with fabulous views. Food fantastic. Service impeccable from all staff, and particularly from the very professional and conscientious Eva. Looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed in a top floor apartment with a lovely view over the river. The apartment was amazing, plush carpets, large rooms, huge super king size beds. Amazing place. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food was really nice. Breakfast was great too. Amazing place!

Very comfortable and relaxing rooms. Great location, along the river and centrally close to the center of town. Excellent kitchen as well for all meals. Breakfast is included in the stay and it was the delicious.

Excellent place to sit in the sunshine and watch the swans bob on the river. Next to a water feature popular with kids in the summer. Riverside pub and restaurant in central Worcester. Really good sharing platters.

Lovely place to eat and drink with a riverside view. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was extremely good value for money. Really smartly decorated inside and plenty of space between the tables so you're not on top of each other. The seafood sharing board was huge and tasted great.

Great one-night stay in apartment 7. Huge separate living space, kitchen, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, view of the river. Stunning. Immaculately clean and comfortable. A couple of points. The kitchen is not well enough equipped for cooking meals but OK for snacks, coffees etc. The hotel publicity suggests this accommodation has two king beds but actually one is a 5-foot 'large double', but hey, still comfy. If it's a cold day when you arrive you'll need to turn up the wall thermostat in the hallway. Otherwise, can't fault it. Would love to go back. Oh and staff were helpful, but beware the restaurant isn't open Mondays. We went to Island, very local Greek restaurant. Recommended.

Perfectly lovely restaurant with boutique hotel above 💜. I wish I were staying longer!! I was in room 301 - a lovely suite with positively blissful bath, quirky furnishings that were perfection itself, and superlative staff in both hotel and restaurant areas. I dined here last evening, and my meal was superb - coconut carrot coriander soup and goat cheese salad (note, however, the salad is mostly cheese and little lambs lettuce), and a fantastic New Zealand Saivignon Blanc. The accommodation has all the little touches that make a stay special - a glass of prosecco upon check-in, fresh milk for your morning coffee/tea in the mini fridge, clothes brush, mineral water, beautifully scented toiletries, and great linens. The only thing less than perfect is no hotel carpark, but I knew that going in, and a council carpark is a couple minutes’ walk away. Stay here - you’ll love it too!!!

Went to browns for my daughters birthday. Location is great and food was very good, but service was just comical. Not sure where they get their staff from, but it was like a scene from Faulty Towers...would I go again...probably not.

After booking a king suite as it was the last room available when we arrived we were not disappointed. The staff were impeccably well mannered with a special mention to Mia. Tho her young age you would have thought she was running things. Another mention to Richard who has clearly mastered the art of hospitality making our evening meal feel like we were eating at a Michelin star restaurant. The food itself was delicious and the setting was perfect. We will be retuning again and would not hesitate to recommend the venue to anyone. Well done. Hospitality done right.

Great location but air con was apparently turned off for the event so spoiled it a bit - otherwise good. Staff were great!

Amazing location with a choice of seating areas ranging from inside the beautiful restaurant with excellent, modern decor, the cute terrace, marquee area and along the quayside. Fab food and brilliant cocktails. The staff are smart, welcoming and accommodating. Definitely coming back to try some more of the food! Thank you.

Excellent lunch in quiet surroundings, nice waiting staff. Seafood salad and Avocado very tasty, the beer battered cod and pea puree got a thumbs up too. No room for desserts, good portions.
