The New Chequers in Worcester

Pre-booked for a wake after a funeral. Good size function room for the amount of people we had. Food supplied was very good and plenty to go around. Although a sad occasion it was good that we were all able to get together and talk. Good there was a small carpark at the back which was ample for what we needed. Didn't feel we were rushed to leave.

Had a couple of pints in a nice pub atmosphere. Will be back

I went to the new chequers on Monday after my mother's funeral.the landlord Lee looked after us very well the food was lovely.Lee is a very good landlord the New chequers is a very well run pub highly recommended thank you Lee

We had our daughter’s funeral reception there. The staff are absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. There was a wide range of foods available including vegetarian and vegan. The price was also very reasonable. Overall, I would fully recommend this venue to anyone. Thank-you all staff.

Private party, buffet food and cake was taken away at 10 pm, wasn't asked if we wanted any more or to take the cakes home we bought,

Great pub, with a proper traditional feel. Plenty of choice on the pumps, and always seems friendly. Update: Have now been for the Sunday lunch, which was extremely good. Photo probably doesn't give it full justice, as a lot of the food isn't visable, and also sides of cauliflower cheese and dauphonoise potato. All for £11.95. Good value, fantastic quality food.

Had a Sunday lunch here and was not disappointed. Only £11.95! Friendly staff, quick service. Will definitely be going back...maybe have dessert this time! First time I've been here in years. Friendly staff who were quick at clearing and cleaning tables down between customers. It's not a bad selection of drinks and at a reasonable price. Heard someone say the food here has also improved and was really good. So might be back to give that a try next year.

Lovely staff. Seating seems to go on forever outside and inside. Plenty of drinks. Clean and tidy and gives off happy vibes. Can be busy but can also be quite quiet. Overall very nice place also cheapest I can find.

Had an amazing roast this week; best one I've had for a while. Dog friendly, staff are friendly, place looks great, has a pool table and sports screens. Will be back to try the quiz on a Thursday. 🤗🤗

Had a wonderful evening at the launch of Chequered past scooter club. Staff were wonderful, had a pizza (highly recommend it was delicious) great atmosphere and had an all round great night.

I was visiting the area for work, I went his pub on a Thursday evening, welcomed by the lovely friendly staff and the locals, quiz, live football, pool table and darts, absolutely great night thank you, highly recommended, definitely will return if I am back in the area.

Didn't book but tried on the off chance.Both Barmen in waistcoats,so smart.They put theirs elves out to fit us in as it was packed. One meat or a mixture of three, including lamb which you don't see very often.I cannot praise the staff enough,it took me back years when most places were pleased to serve you.A lot of places these days have the doctors receptionists attitude. An excellent place to be with something unusual in pubs today,it's called ATMOSPHERE. A1++++

Fantastic lasagne, the garlic ciabatta bread was amazing and the chocolate brownie to finish it off was phenomenal, big thanks to Michael for excellent service and giving off a most friendly and welcoming presence!

Im loving what they've done with the place the staff are amazing, it's nice to see them put in the effort with the staff dressed up so well in waistcoat and ties. Lovely quirky and cool place and food is amazing.You must try trust me you will come back 💯👌

Tried the New Chequers today for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! Lovely friendly staff and service! Plus the best roast in Worcester hands down. Piping hot and delicious! Will be returning very soon!

Lee and Tara have 'nailed it' - turned the pub around yet retained it's individuality.

Popped in Friday to check this pub out for a post Funeral drink next week, and I was very pleasantly surprised to find the interior was subtly very impressive. My Guinness was cold and fresh, my brother had a great selection of gins to choose from. Two nice main rooms and a function room plus a large garden and about 16 parking spaces, so ideal for our purpose. No lunchtime food, but not an issue for us.

Brill atmosphere table service was always spot on Will definitely go again

Absolutely the best roast dinner Iv eaten out, all 4 adults had different meats and all agreed it’s delicious. The atmosphere there is also really friendly and kids and dogs are welcomed x

This pub is mine and my family’s local pub after being took over by New landlords the Customer service is awful. I asked The landlady Zara for a drink and I asked for it to be put behind the bar as I hadn’t finished the one I got and I was told that she’s shutting in 5 minutes and this was 8:55pm baring in mind the pub closes at 11:30pm and there was no reason for it to close at that time she just said it’s because she wanted to shut at that time and “it’s her f**king pub she will close whenever she wants” . the reply I got from me asking for my drink to be put behind the bar was “well you either have it now or not at all” I do not recommend this pub. However The landlord lee is absolutely lovely it’s such a shame the business gets dragged down by her.

New management, good vibe, drink selection slowly expanding... much improved!!!!! It’s great to see my local buzzing and alive!!

i went out to the pub to have a Sunday roast and oh my god it was amazing. The yorkshire puddings were immaculate and the gammon was nice and juicyi also noticed the owner had two kids but the youngest one alex was so cute and cheeky

As of october 2019 The New Chequers has been under new management. Private function room available for hire, separate lounge and bar area, open fires, excellent selection of drinks, dog friendly and a new menu available soon, although a Sunday roast is being served now and defiantly worth going for. Also show sports on sky and bt and have live entertainment...worth a visit

Lee and Zara and all, have come a long way only to better themselves in the long run. The last few months these folks have been on a rollercoaster of a journey, but have come out on top. People appreciate that they go the extra mile and really appreciate that. I wish them well on their new venture, good luck to you.

Had a birthday party her and the buffet they do is worth the money and it's proper party food

There’s a very limited selection of beers on tap but my last 2 visits have both ended in me leaving... don’t think I’ll try again... most recently popped in for a quick pint to be told the card machines were down... prior to that left because the landlord insisted on projecting silly images around the room while the rugby was on! I need to find me a decent local!

Went to the pub at midday last Saturday with members of Worcester City Royals FC, Just had a beer, the staff were very welcoming. Any pub that takes the trouble to put beer glasses in the freezer prior to use on a hot day gets my vote as a decent pub-little things make a big difference, great customer service. Couldn't give five stars as haven't tried the food yet.

Just booked function room. Friendly owner and very good price for buffet. 9/4/19. Had a wake here today. Excellent array of food well presented. Hot water topped up for free tea and coffee. Clean and warm room. Staff friendly and helpful. Really good value for money. Would certainly come again.

Hand dryers not working no seats on toilets no toilet paper just over all dirty.

I'm not a regular, but used to pop in once a week when working in the area. Beer selection ok. Was comfortable. Plenty of parking at the rear .

Great place to meet friends very friendly staff very good. Proprietor very warm and friendly a really good place to relax and enjoy .

Price of beer is good and staff was friendly this is still a good old pub.

Standard locals pub. Decent food, nothing too fancy. Separate lounge, bar & function area. Have been to a few wedding & funeral receptions here! Staff are friendly, although could do with more on busy nights. Drinks are reasonable. In a rougher part of town but still friendly and welcoming to everyone. Interior not too run down, fairly clean and modern. Pool table and telly on the wall for sports. Also outdoor area and parking to the rear. Not my first choice but also not last on the list!

Only here for a wake following a funeral as it's the nearest pub to the crematorium so can't really judge it as a pub. Tea coffee and refreshments provided were fine and everyone seemed satisfied with what was on offer.
