Fantastic pub serving brilliant food and real ales. We travelled from Bromsgrove and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It's cosy and welcoming and have to say all the staff were very friendly. Special mention for Josh. It was his first day working there but you wouldn't have known. We'll be back soon. Good prices and it was full so just shows that pubs can survive if they do it right. 👍

Huge thanks to the team at The Alma for everything they did to make our surprise party such a great experience yesterday. We needed somewhere for family members to come together and the function room was perfect for us. The buffet was fab and they catered well for the various dietary requirements. We had access to the room for hours and the team were super helpful throughout. Thank you all 😊

We had a steak salad which was delicious, and the other food we saw looked really nice. Good value too, hence why it was busy on Monday lunchtime! Small carpark adjacent (register car on entry)

Have stated using the Alma for drinks but decided on a whim to call in and have a pint and some food. Got there and were warmly greeted and showed to our table. Menus provided but were not rushed to order as we were enjoying our drinks. We both chose off the two mains for £14 menu, wife had chilli and I had butchers faggots. Food came out piping hot and well presented and was extremely tasty. All round excellent and very enjoyable, we will be back!

I just love the Alma, it’s our local and we are very lucky! Lovely staff that always look after you, even when it’s really busy. We are usually a table of 20 or so and food always comes at the same time. Good pub food with something for everyone’s tastes and great entertainment. The wine is good and a good selection of gin too. Highly recommend the Sunday roasts, they are amazing value for money and the Tuesday night pub quiz is good fun. I grew up in a village pub and it warms my heart when I find a proper community pub selling good quality and good value food for everyone. We popped in for a meal on a Tuesday afternoon - it was so friendly and such a nice warm atmosphere, They have a lot of good stuff going on in this pub and you could tell that everyone was welcome. Great home cooked food, great beer and a friendly service. I went to the Alma Tavern during a busy evening. My food was piping hot and delicious. But what really stood out for me was the friendly staff.

Called in just because we were travelling and needed lunch and it's not far off the M5 and we prefer to go to a pub. Nice welcome and whilst it's nothing fancy, perfectly good pub burger and lovely kids menu with ice cream for them. Petrol station conveniently located next-door. Nothing amazing but nothing wrong with it either!

Excellent experience all round. John and his team clearly run a tight ship and it shows in the quality of their food and beverage offerings. Would recommend.

We have been meaning to have food here for a while, as we usually go for a drink. It’s typical good pub grub. Plenty of choice on the menu. Lovely cosy atmosphere on a dismal Winter night. Two rounds of drinks, two mains, one side and a dessert for £40. (We took advantage of 25% off on Monday, main menu only). Great to see every table booked, when businesses are doing their best, when costs are increasing. Great to have this as a local, within walking distance pub.

A great value meal at The Alma Tavern last night, with the 25% offer on a Monday evening. We could only eat a main course as the portions were so good, with freshly prepared hot food cooked to perfection. I can definitely recommend the Chip Shop Platter - succulent cod with crispy batter, fish cake, scampi, chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, tartare sauce and bread & butter. Fabulous :) Quick and friendly service too. Thank you!

I always love the food at this traditional pub. Plenty going on during the evenings, i.e., quiz night, bingo, music. Don't forget to put your registration in if you use the car park on site. The screen is on the bar as you enter. Booking is recommended.

Just called in on the off chance. Really nice welcome and lovely surroundings. We order two meals and they were both generous portions and flavoursome food.

this Pub is consistently good! I’ve been here, a few times for family meals with parties larger than 12 people and the food has all been excellent. Friendly and attentive staff great value for money. We have been to the Alma a couple of times recently and had meals from there specials board, a few weeks ago I had the salmon risotto which one of the best risottos I have ever had good balancof flavors and cooked to perfection. Today we have both had the lamb shank which again was cooked perfection and the red wine gravy gave it a great flavour. I would highly recommend this pub for there delicious food and friendly atmosphere 10 out of 10 will be back very soon.

Lovely local pub Does what it says 👍 Good price's and service

I've never once had a bad experience here. This lovely little pub is easy to find on the Droitwich Road just opposite St Stephens Church. The food is to die for with a wide range of delicious items packed into one side of A4 with the beauty to being able to mix, match, add or takeaway from your order. Just a few nights ago I had The Buttermilk Chicken Burger with added Pulled Pork and a side of loaded fires with a wonderful spicy chilly kick to them and plenty of sauces to dip into to go with it. I followed my pig out up with the warm sticky toffee pudding and custard which was as equally as godly as the main course. Before, during or after your meal you should take a step closer to the bar and make sure to return to your table with one of the many beers, largers or spirits on offer. I have always found all of the items on the menu reasonably priced and the staff are always down for a chat at the bar while serving you, this maybe small but has a big heart and dedicated staff who accommodate your every comfort while at this beautifully tranquil pub. This little gem has swiftly become my new favourite local watering hole after a hard day. Can't wait to come back! 😁

A good friendly pub, good food and drink choice at good prices.

I come here with my great-uncle for lunch. It has a quiet, rustic atmosphere and is popular with elderly locals. The bar area always has sports on, and there are often parties as they have a separate area for large groups. It is very accommodating towards guests with additional needs (like extreme autism). My uncle also likes it as it has a variety of beers which you can't get at other local pubs (don't ask me which ones!). My favourite pub food is gammon steak, and this place does the best I've ever had, it serves lovely crispy onion rings, and it does a lotus biscoff cheesecake that is better than any other cake in Worcester.

We booked the function room for a family gathering to celebrate several milestones and to remember someone special who hadn't had the send off she deserved during lockdown. Everything went perfectly, the room and use of the beer garden on a warm, sunny afternoon was ideal with guest ages ranging from 1 to 93. The food was delicious, plentiful and good value with veggie and vegan options well labelled. Unfortunately, some staff didn't turn up so we had to use the main bar for drinks but that wasn't too much hassle. All in all a great little venue.

The Alma Tavern is a fantastic, family friendly pub. Serving excellent food & drinks it provides a wide variety of entertainment supporting local talent as well as further afield. It has Tribute Acts, live music, Karaoke, Family disco’s & children’s entertainment. It runs a variety of Festivals throughout the year (always considering the youngsters as well as its older clientele). So whether you want food, drink, entertainment this place has it all.

Brilliant venue, the owners really are at the forefront of good management.. customers always put first, the food is great.. not your usual boring pub grub! Recently visited The Alma Tavern (dinner for two) and since we have had a celebratory family Sunday lunch (for ten). Despite the fact initially we were forced to cancel twice, once at short notice due to illness, the polite manner in which our cancellations were accepted was very refreshing. A nothing is too much trouble attitude prevails throughout and we are looking forward to our next visit. This is good wholesome well cooked and presented food at a price that doesn't break the bank by any means. Going to try and work our way through the menu, the puddings are all delicious. Have not been in The Alma since 2005 but definitely won’t leave it that long again!! It’s not Miller and Carter but neither does it purport to be ( Can’t abide the place anyway) This is a true British pub with good hearty fodder. The staff were attentive and friendly and the service was excellent. Our meals arrived in very good time, despite the pub being extremely busy (but not too fast , if you know what I mean) Finally I have to mention the prices…………….WOW! In a world where prices are going crazy The Alma seems to have time travelled back to the early 2000’s with their price list. Excellent choice of food on the 2 mains for £12 and these definitely weren’t small portions. And on Mondays you receive and extra 25% off this. No wonder they’re so popular. The main menu and specials also had an excellent range of choice. The desserts board looked epic but unfortunately after the size of the main I couldn’t squeeze one in. Definitely recommend 10/10.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch very reasonably priced at £8.99, very tasty and ample portions. Good selection of desserts too, individually priced at £5.29 each but if you've taken the wife with you there's a special offer of two desserts for £8. Good, friendly service and very attentive waiting staff. They also offer 25% off food if you have a Blue Light card - marvellous! Will definitely be returning 😀
