We had a lovely family lunch here today. Can’t fault anything, the food and service was excellent. The staff were really pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be going back !

This pub is really good. Beer and food are both reasonably priced and good quality . I think the effort they put into hosting events, quizzes, music etc is brilliant! Family friendly too!

Cannot fault the Alma, friendly and delicious food 😋

So, the I prefer batter for my fish & chips to be crispier than it was on Wednesday night. On the other hand, the prawn cocktails were very good and the steak melt excellent. Big shout out for the peppercorn sauce !

The Alma is our favourite local. Chippy Tuesday and Thursday pie nights are particularly good! Great atmosphere, great food and great staff. 👍⭐️🍴 They also have a busy schedule of events so there is something on every weekend. Highly recommend a visit. Also very good value.

Having heard goods things about the food, called in to look at the menu but since there was no intention to stay long, failed to book in the car registration thinking it unnecessary for a flying visit. Left after just 12 minutes so very surprised to receive a £60 parking penalty. Despite revisiting to ask them to rescind the penalty, they failed to carry this out so got landed with a fine…from a third party Be VERY aware that they do seem to want to be at all helpful in this area

Wonderful place with magical food. The staff were all amazing and friendly. The menu includes all you need and the prices are good too.

Had a meal at the Alma which is always amazing as we were there we thought it would be good place to hold our small wedding celebration so we booked the function room. Staff were really helpful start to finish as we popped in a few times to discuss buffet options etc. Day before we were allowed to store some decorations to dress the room the next day before guests arrived as the room was being used that evening. Staff members moved the tables for us how we wanted them and were extremely helpful when we arrived for our celebration by offering to help decorate. The Buffett was amazing and plenty of it bar staff were just amazing as the room was very busy we do like a drink so she coped very well 👌 All in all I wouldn’t hesitate to hold a party or celebration at the Alma everyone had a great day perfect venue for us. Nice warm atmosphere. Great tasting food. Had Sunday lunch. Lamb was tender, vegetables were cooked right, not raw and also not over boiled. Only point is that the portion size of the Sunday lunch SIDES were JUST slightly small, but still enough to compliment the Sunday lunch. Som e nice interesting desert options. Staff were very polite. Reasonable price compared to many SUNDAY LUNCH places. Nice atmosphere. Overall nice relaxing experience.

Lovely food 😋 😉👌 just had a parking charge 27 day's after visiting the pub for food, shocking service from the pub phoned & Messaged them 4 times about the fine!! but no response from them😡I payed on my card for food we had, showed the parking company the receipt but said it was no good absolutely shocking service from the (alma tavern)👎👎👎

We decided to try our night, and we weren’t disappointed. On a miserable September evening, the Alma was cosy and welcoming. The portions are more than adequate, the Merlot as tasty as ever. Pie and a drink for £11.50. Good value, great food, in a lovely little local pub. Food and drink as good as always. Thank you.

I'd highly recommend the new Turkey leg sharing roast dinner. The leg was really moist and the broccoli / cauliflower cheese was delicious. The kids loved the roasties. Drinks are also reasonably priced 🤩

First time visiting with my son as we saw the wrestling advertised on Facebook. The wrestling was great my lad throughly enjoyed it. We had a burger for lunch which was top notch. We will be back

Fantastic pub ! My Husband and my mum and myself visited on Monday for lunch as there is 25% off on Mondays . We took 2 buses from a village near to Bromsgrove , as we had done once before . The welcome was excellent , all the staff were friendly and smiley and the food and real ale were brilliant . All home-cooked food and lovely presentation. We had their homemade fish pie and steak, mushroom and stout pie .We will certainly be going back and well worth the journey as this is the best PROPER pub food around in our area . Went there today one of our party was taken ill. Staff were absolutely Brilliant. The food was amazing well cooked and tasted fantastic. We will be returning again. Liver & Bacon was really good.

The owner/manager Jon is an extremely rude, nasty, horrible individual who doesn't like women at all. I had a terrible meal here a few weeks ago. There was no apology from the staff. I believe he waited several weeks to take this out on me by telling staff to refuse to serve me. Stay away from this nasty place. He is always advertising for new staff because people leave all the time due to his bullying behaviour.

Extremely rude nasty owner. Vile human being. Stay away.

Lovely food made welcome excellent staff

Went here for the first time as visiting my daughter who goes here often with her hubby & kiddies. Wow! Very busy sat teatime but found seating ok, got served drinks ok, ordered our food ok. It has a lovely welcoming vibe and nothing was too much trouble! Food was really nice at a very reasonable price too! We couldn't fault it if im honest! Im gutted im not local as this is in my opinion wat a good pub serving the community should be like! Busy, cheery and welcoming! My local could learn a thing or too! There is something on I think every day at The Alma absolutely great place!

The Alma has just introduced breakfast from 10am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so thought would try it out. Was very impressed indeed, food all freshly cooked using good quality ingredients and good value as well. I had traditional fry up, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, beans, fried egg, hash brown (extra was black pudding) with real fried bread which was all fantastic. My wife had the vegan option which was also excellent. Highly recommended.

We were in worcester for weekend for racing and after seeing reviews on the alma we decided to walk the mile to try it,i had the venison chops with veg,bargain at £12 and my partner had buttermilk chicken burger which cost around a tenner,the food was the quality of a top restaurant with price of wetherspoons,we decided to go back for sunday lunch which was absolutely amazing,£10.99 for a sunday lunch or£12.99 for the trio,turkey beef and pork which we really enjoyed,really wish we had places like this offering value for money closer to home,we will definitely return.

Its an extensive menu plus a specials board ! I chose from the latter a slow-cooked lamb shank which was beautiful. Table service was quick and everything was well-organised. Price-wise, it was much cheaper than Worcester for the same quality and well worth supporting.

Cheap budget food staff friendly

Fantastic pub serving brilliant food and real ales. We travelled from Bromsgrove and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It's cosy and welcoming and have to say all the staff were very friendly. Special mention for Josh. It was his first day working there but you wouldn't have known. We'll be back soon. Good prices and it was full so just shows that pubs can survive if they do it right. 👍

Hadn't eaten here for a long time but will definitely be back. Used to be a bit bland but new owners have really pepped it up with good menu choices

Huge thanks to the team at The Alma for everything they did to make our surprise party such a great experience yesterday. We needed somewhere for family members to come together and the function room was perfect for us. The buffet was fab and they catered well for the various dietary requirements. We had access to the room for hours and the team were super helpful throughout. Thank you all 😊

We had a steak salad which was delicious, and the other food we saw looked really nice. Good value too, hence why it was busy on Monday lunchtime! Small carpark adjacent (register car on entry)

Have stated using the Alma for drinks but decided on a whim to call in and have a pint and some food. Got there and were warmly greeted and showed to our table. Menus provided but were not rushed to order as we were enjoying our drinks. We both chose off the two mains for £14 menu, wife had chilli and I had butchers faggots. Food came out piping hot and well presented and was extremely tasty. All round excellent and very enjoyable, we will be back!

I just love the Alma, it’s our local and we are very lucky! Lovely staff that always look after you, even when it’s really busy. We are usually a table of 20 or so and food always comes at the same time. Good pub food with something for everyone’s tastes and great entertainment. The wine is good and a good selection of gin too. Highly recommend the Sunday roasts, they are amazing value for money and the Tuesday night pub quiz is good fun. Love this place. I grew up in a village pub so it warms my heart when I find a true community hub of a pub offering good quality and good value food and drinks for all! 5 stars! They also seem to have loads going on entertainment wise with quizzes gigs and sport etc. it was busy on an afternoon. Full of life. Cool place. Good vibes! 😎

Great home cooked food, great beer and a friendly service. I went to the Alma Tavern during a busy evening. My food was piping hot and delicious. But what really stood out for me was the friendly staff.

I grew up in a village pub and it warms my heart when I find a proper community pub selling good quality and good value food for everyone. We popped in for a meal on a Tuesday afternoon - it was so friendly and such a nice warm atmosphere, They have a lot of good stuff going on in this pub and you could tell that everyone was welcome. Cool place. Great vibes. How pubs used to be and should be! James and Christina x

Called in just because we were travelling and needed lunch and it's not far off the M5 and we prefer to go to a pub. Nice welcome and whilst it's nothing fancy, perfectly good pub burger and lovely kids menu with ice cream for them. Petrol station conveniently located next-door. Nothing amazing but nothing wrong with it either!

Excellent experience all round. John and his team clearly run a tight ship and it shows in the quality of their food and beverage offerings. Would recommend.

We have been meaning to have food here for a while, as we usually go for a drink. It’s typical good pub grub. Plenty of choice on the menu. Lovely cosy atmosphere on a dismal Winter night. Two rounds of drinks, two mains, one side and a dessert for £40. (We took advantage of 25% off on Monday, main menu only). Great to see every table booked, when businesses are doing their best, when costs are increasing. Great to have this as a local, within walking distance pub.

A great value meal at The Alma Tavern last night, with the 25% offer on a Monday evening. We could only eat a main course as the portions were so good, with freshly prepared hot food cooked to perfection. I can definitely recommend the Chip Shop Platter - succulent cod with crispy batter, fish cake, scampi, chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, tartare sauce and bread & butter. Fabulous :) Quick and friendly service too. Thank you!

Well-cooked sizeable and golden crunchy chips (not fries) and beautifully tasty batter with the tenderest fish, mushy peas (they serve them straight too) and tartare. Friendly and welcoming ambience; if I wasn't performing I'd have tried the beers too which looked like a good selection. 100% rating for food, and will return next time I'm in the area

I always love the food at this traditional pub. Plenty going on during the evenings, i.e., quiz night, bingo, music. Don't forget to put your registration in if you use the car park on site. The screen is on the bar as you enter. Booking is recommended.

this Pub is consistently good! I’ve been here, a few times for family meals with parties larger than 12 people and the food has all been excellent. Friendly and attentive staff great value for money. This place is worth a visit. Tableservice is great, and a variety of food can cater for all tastes. Well done team will be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We have been to the Alma a couple of times recently and had meals from there specials board, a few weeks ago I had the salmon risotto which one of the best risottos I have ever had good balancof flavors and cooked to perfection. Today we have both had the lamb shank which again was cooked perfection and the red wine gravy gave it a great flavour. I would highly recommend this pub for there delicious food and friendly atmosphere 10 out of 10 will be back very soon.

Lovely local pub Does what it says 👍 Good price's and service

I've never once had a bad experience here. This lovely little pub is easy to find on the Droitwich Road just opposite St Stephens Church. The food is to die for with a wide range of delicious items packed into one side of A4 with the beauty to being able to mix, match, add or takeaway from your order. Just a few nights ago I had The Buttermilk Chicken Burger with added Pulled Pork and a side of loaded fires with a wonderful spicy chilly kick to them and plenty of sauces to dip into to go with it. I followed my pig out up with the warm sticky toffee pudding and custard which was as equally as godly as the main course. Before, during or after your meal you should take a step closer to the bar and make sure to return to your table with one of the many beers, largers or spirits on offer. I have always found all of the items on the menu reasonably priced and the staff are always down for a chat at the bar while serving you, this maybe small but has a big heart and dedicated staff who accommodate your every comfort while at this beautifully tranquil pub. This little gem has swiftly become my new favourite local watering hole after a hard day. Can't wait to come back! 😁
