Stale burger buns, burger was made upside down (TOPPINGS UNDER THE PATTIE) and they forgot the cheese so brought me two cheese slices on a plate to make my own cheeseburger. Had about 10 chips on my plate, onion rings were OK. I work in burger king and wouldn't let a burger be served like that tbh chef should be embarrassed. Got a refund, picked up pizza on the way home.

Food was terrible: ordered a cheeseburger, it came with 7 chips and no cheese on the burger. They brought some cheese slices for us to add on ourselves. But the bun was stale so we sent it back. Ordered a pepperoni pizza which I'm sure was a frozen pizza. Ordered a beef roast, beef was good but very fatty, ended up cutting most off. It came with 3 day old frozen roast potatoes, lumpy mash and a small block of burnt stuffing. Paid £50 for those meals with soft drinks total and waited over half an hour. Staff member was quite apologetic when we returned the burger.

The Poppy and Pint is an excellent bar with a great selection of food and beers. The bar is large and spacious with outdoor area with seating. It also has a function room upstairs. Bar staff are friendly. It is really nice bar to visit for a drink and a catch up with friends. Excellent food, good loyalty card program/app. Large car park.

Large but friendly local pub with an ex excellent beer range, Nottngham CAMRA Pub Of The Year 2017. Food is also good. Gluten Free options on some menu items.

Stopped here after doing the Nottingham half marathon for some food and a drink, and the food was really nice tasting food. We was there around 12pm on a Sunday and it was quite busy but there were plenty of tables still available. I did notice that it's a dog friendly pub as well. The overall appearance of the pub seemed to be friendly and clean especially the toilets. Great food and friendly staff reasonably priced food and drinks.

Nice staff & good selection of beers. Unfortunately we were expecting a lot better quality food for the price, the bbq pulled pork (loaded fries) was like tuna consistency. Good portion sizes though.

Good atmosphere even at 5pm on a Monday. Sat outside in the evening sunshine and watched the tennis practice. Didn't eat there but the food looked and smelled wonderful.

Always great. Generous helpings of home cooked food with a regularly varied specials menu including plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.

We had our wedding reception at Poppy and Pint over the weekend, all the staff were so accommodating and pleasant. We were able to set up the night before which was a huge help, had use of tables and table clothes, PA system, disco lights. Pizzas were served for our guests and they were delicious! Special mention to the young man who was working the bar area for most of the night, he was working so hard to be quick with everyone’s drinks, sorry we didn’t catch his name! We came back the following morning to find the staff had tidied up and put all our belongings and decorations to one side which was so kind and helpful, definitely not something we expected as they’d already been so helpful! Extra mention for allowing us reserved parking as there was a lot of traffic from the football. Thank you again for being a wonderful venue, we’d definitely recommend and will be back again for yummy pizza!

Out-of-this-World Korean Disco Fries I simply cannot express how incredible the Korean Disco Fries were. This dish was an absolute culinary masterpiece! The perfect combination of crispy, fluffy chunky chips- swapped from the regular skinny fries, gooey melted cheese, and a gentle kick of sriracha created an unparalleled flavor explosion in my mouth. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the brisket. It was so tender and flavorful that it melted away like butter. Topped with vibrant pink onions and cabbage, this dish was as visually stunning as it was delicious. Honestly, I've never tasted anything quite like it. Every bite was pure bliss. This is without a doubt the best plate of food I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable, flavourful and filling plate of food, I implore you to try these Korean Disco Fries- my taste buds are still boogying on down. Very friendly and sociable atmosphere great cafe with selection of food and cakes a comprehensive selection of beers from there own castle rock brewery plus a wide selection of revolving brews to suit all tastes and a good hot food menu in the bar

Disappointing. Waiting far too long for our meals. Almost an hour after ordering at 6pm. Menu looks great and food was good but no way we are going back to eat. Staff indifferent unapologetic when asked about the whereabouts of our order.

Fine. Good, quick service. Place is fine, no problems. Only thing I’d say is it lacks a warmly feel to the place. Good for bigger groups I’d say. Beer has always been pretty decent there, and last time I was there they even had a couple stouts and a porter I believe

Waited over an hour for our meal, had to chase and it had apparently ‘some how’ not been put thro’ to the kitchen. When it finally arrived was awful, over cooked & greasy. Would not recommend and wouldn’t go back

Food was okay, nothing wrong, nothing special. Service at the bar was poor. It was busy, bar staff looked unhappy. They were not paying attention to who was next. So people stood waiting a long time!

A big pub, a lot going on, very busy, but not the better for it. Ì will choose to eat and drink somewhere else, as a preference.

I played at the Poppy Folk Club here. That was a lovely experience. The pub itself was not. The bar staff were disinterested, unwilling to be helpful, and one of them served me a pint of alcoholic beer despite being asked for non-alcoholic. A fair enough mistake to make, but when I mentioned that it was the first alcohol I'd touched in 17 years, he basically told me to get over it.

Food prices are high as were the drinks a half pint and a lemonade came to £6. Decided not to eat as menu was very limited. Plesent enough place but not somewhere I'd bring the family unfortunately

Went here after hearing good reviews of the food and friendliness of the staff. We both had one of the special meals and the sticky toffee pudding and custard for dessert. Food was very good, hot, freshly made and we were full. Staff who served us though were not particularly friendly at all. Only seem to have time for the regulars.

Love the poppy and pint I always have the starter king prawns with garlic mayo and sweet chilli sauce and chips comes with a side salad 🥗 so tasty well presented all staff friendly and James is the best

Interesting… meant to be their gluten free weekend and they serve me gluten on a gluten free meal. It was sorted however, it’s not great when you have a gluten allergy. Not sure if I’d visit again

Tasty food, good portions, fair prices and plenty of parking. The decor is pretty basic but the friendly staff give it the 5 star atmosphere. If you're after decent pub grub, give it a try.

Had my wedding reception here on valentines day and I can't thank the staff enough! They went above and beyond and made everything perfect and the food was absolutely gorgeous all the guests commented on how nice it was. Thankyou so so much Mr & Mrs kwan

The Poppy and Pint is always a top choice. Great value food and an excellent choice with some perfect staples on the regular menu (I love the Enchiladas) or a really good choice of specials (the Curry’s are very good). All that with an amazing choice of craft beers makes for a top lunch or evening.

Great atmosphere with good choice of beers. I visited again after 7 years. Beers were world class and the food was 10 out of 10. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I visited on a Monday afternoon and there were plenty of people about. This is a top pub and it's clear to see why this place has fantastic reviews.

Busy noisy pub, everyone was friendly. food was great, the service was great, although we had to source our own cutlery and condiments. Very cold pub.

I have already reviewed this but feel compelled to leave another. I had a Spice n Briezy burger last night and if it had been served in a Michelin Star restaurant you would not be disappointed. The flavour and texture combinations were just perfect. And the chips, the chips- you will not find better chips anywhere; a crunchy, crispy crust envelopes a cloudy, mist of fluffy potato inside. I’m nearly 50 and these were the best chips I have ever had full stop. I can’t heap higher praise than that. Who ever the chef is- look after them as they are brilliant!

Lovely place my daughter and her partner go there quite often and we have been a few times as well very welcoming and the staff are great also the food is amazing we came here today Sunday 7th January 2024 for my grandsons belated 30th birthday meal there were 14 of us and we had a great meal and a great time would definitely recommend this place to everyone
