A real surprise didn’t seem like much from the outside but soon has you come in it’s like a funky surprise a very layed back place very clean but check the menu out a great selection on offer plus some if you’re a real ale person or fancy a beer they seem to have a good range on draft but yes a really chilled out place while waiting for the train much reasonable prices than star bucks or costa bomb buy nice service also .

Hopkinsons calls itself a 'vintage emporium' yet is scamming its customers by selling enormously marked up brand new products from Temu, Shein and Ali Express, presented misleadingly as to appear vintage. People shopping at Hopkinsons do so in order to support local vintage dealers, buy second hand and more sustainably and but unique not mass produces things. Instead Hopkinsons is trying to sell us ultra fast fashion items that are well know to be awful for the environment and with massive labour exploitation. I made Hopkinsons aware of this a year ago thinking they may not be aware of individual stallholders doing this. They have not responded, done nothing and continue to sell mass produced tat for ten times what they are available online for. Hopkinsons you should be ashamed.

Came in a few weeks ago for drinks with friends, the girl behind the bar was miserable and very unhelpful when my husband asked where his drink was and very rude just pointed to the beers at the end of the bar, didn't even pass them to him. I’ve been going to this place for years and it used to be amazing. En par with Snoopers Paradise in Brighton. I don’t understand what’s happened to it but it feels like it’s now half as full and a lot of the stock isn’t vintage anymore and it’s completely lost its ‘vibe’. It’s now a huge disappointment when I go in there. SUCH a shame as this used to be my favourite shop in Nottingham.

I have not been to this establishment for sometime. The last time I was here the shop and Antiques side was pretty messy and shabby. My opinion. I have been in today and was confronted by the shop manager on my review. He seemed agitated and very irritated. He asked me why I put my review. I was abit stunned by this and to be honest insulted. Very defensive. Especially when I was not expecting it. He then followed me around the shop. I really don't think this is a nice place to be. I think the manager needs to seek help

A boy named Ash Ketchum who lives in a small settlement called Pallet Town and has just turned ten years old, which allows him to receive his Pokémon license, pick a first partner Pokémon, and become a Pokémon Trainer. Ash declares to himself and the Pokémon of the world that he will become a Pokémon Master. His dramatic speech, however, is interrupted by his mom who tells him to get to bed as he has a big day tomorrow. Ash protests that he's too excited to sleep, so his mom tells him that if he won't sleep then to at least get ready for the next day as she switches on a program hosted by the town's Pokémon expert, Professor Oak. Ash watches as Oak explains that new Trainers get to pick one of three Pokémon to start their journey: the Grass-type Bulbasaur, the Fire-type Charmander, or the Water-type Squirtle. As Ash sleeps, he goes over the choices in his head reasoning that any of the three available Pokémon are good for starting Trainers. However, his Voltorb alarm clock rolls into his hand as he sleeps and, dreaming that he's throwing a Poké Ball, he chucks it at the wall, smashing it. When Ash finally wakes up, he sees the sun high in the sky and realizes that he overslept. Ash runs to Professor Oak's Laboratory in such a hurry that he doesn't change out of his pajamas, and at this point doesn't care which first partner Pokémon he gets as long as he gets any. He arrives at the lab just in time to see one of his new fellow Trainers (and Professor Oak's grandson), Gary, leaving. Unfortunately for Ash, Gary is very overconfident and brags that he was on time and already has his first Pokémon, although he refuses to reveal which one he received. The coffee and atmosphere are so good, with it being so close to the station what better place to visit and checkout before you depart on your own journey.

This review makes me sad to write as I have loved Hopkinsons for many years. However a recent visit has made me question a lot of what I thought the business was about. I stopped in one late afternoon in October with some friends and saw some amazingly cool quirky handbags with retro designs. I didn't get one but did consider going back to get a couple for Christmas presents for friends who loved them too. Well imagine my surprise when after a quick Google search, every single one of the bags that Hopkinsons (a 'vintage emporium' that claims to sell only retro, vintage, preloved and locally made by craftspeople goods) had on this display with actually from either Temu or Shein. The bags and purses are literally still on sale on those websites and Hopkinsons is there selling them for two or three times the price, under the guise of being vintage. Obviously I was under no illusions these bags were from the 1920's or anything, maybe from the 2010's but I certainly didn't expect Hopkinsons to be buying up stuff off massive Chinese fast fashion brands that have shocking environmental and human rights records, with allegations of forced labour. I'm so so disappointed. I shopped at Hopkinsons thinking it was a good option because it was supporting local businesses and artists, and was better for the environment to buy second hand, and to get something a bit unique. Will not be shopping there again and I urge others to look carefully at what they are buying.

I've previously had great experiences coming into this store and treating myself to a few items. Unfortunately, I don't think that'll continue. Visited recently and some items I was interested in are massively overpriced for what they are, and it wasn't even worth trying to negotiate. We were sat next to an air conditioner that was blowing out freezing cold air. We asked if this could be turned off as it was so cold & the waitress rudely said no as it would get too hot and that she would bring a rug to put over it. Suffice to say that never appeared so had to put my coat over my legs & put 2 cocktail menus over the top of the air conditioner. There is limited choice on the menu unless you like chips and anything with sweet chilli or creamy sauces. I had an open sandwich with fillet steak pieces in Gorgonzola sauce. The sauce was so overpowering it was sickly. I like Gorgonzola but this was awful. One of our party did not get their food & we had to ask where it was. Apparently there was a mix up in the kitchen & he had to wait about 15 mins for it to be served but did get a free drink as a goodwill gesture. The food is overpriced for what you get and the service was extremely slow. We were there for 3 hours for just 2 courses. We definitely will not be returning to any of their establishments in the group. There were many other things like the very greasy onion rings & the really chewy halloumi sticks and that the yakatori sticks are mostly made up of onion.
