We needed to charge our electric vehicle and get some lunch, so this was an ideal place to stop, just seconds off the A30. The pub is clean and fresh and the landlady was very welcoming. We had a nice chat with her and she was telling us about the improvements she has been making since taking over the pub a few months ago. Apparently, her son does the cooking and he is doing a great job. We ordered our steaks medium rare and they were perfectly cooked. The portions were generous and my wife appreciated that the meat in her steak baguette was moist and tender with no grissle. We also thought the prices were quite reasonable compared to other places we have visited in Cornwall. Their beers are well kept and I really enjoyed a pint of Sea Fury (my favourite Cornish ale). I would recommend this pub to anyone who wants to stop for lunch while travelling to mid-Cornwall or further west, but it is particularly useful to people who need to charge their electric vehicles. There are 2 75Kw contactless chargers in the car park. They are leased separately by Osprey, so there is no obligation to use the pub, but if you can time your journey to arrive when the pub is open, you can have a really enjoyable meal while your car is charging.

Invited by the landlady for a game of bingo with the locals on a Wednesday night and had a meal beforehand. It was the biggest plate I've ever had for £9 and had a great night having a laugh and playing bingo with a raffle too! Highly recommend for a relaxed and friendly drink. Well stocked bar and lots of choice. Great little pub 👍

Had the pleasure of visiting The Plume of Feathers again over the weekend. I had the Surf and Turf which was absolutely fab and my partner had the Lasagne which She raved about. The pub is undergoing some nice aesthetic changes and at the time We were there they were constructing a brand new enclosed patio/games room area which will be great in both winter and summer. Really nice to see that the Landlady is making an effort with making positive changes to making this a great Pub for all. Again highly recommend this welcoming and friendly pub with great atmosphere.

Called in for a spot of lunch and this pub didn’t disappoint, it’s a cosy friendly place with fabulous pub grub and great coffee , we really enjoyed our food , possibly the best steak baguette we’ve had in a long while , dog friendly and a warm welcome, we will be back !

Dirty pub dirty food rude landlady wouldnt be returning after I seen a customer drop a bag of powder (white) and pick it up only to return it back to the one who dropped it! Shocking!

Just what a simple pub should be; a great welcome as you come through the door. New landlady full of enthusiasm and not shy to say that there were no pizzas as they'd run out of mozzarella - hooray! home made not out of the freezer! My steak pie was really good and a well kept pint too. Red wine by the glass was a little limited but I'm more than happy to put that down to just being in place. Great friendly atmosphere. Fantastic Roast 3 meats, plenty of it, 5 tasty fresh veg, wonderful potatoes, crispy crackling, and stayed hot until I finished I'm a slow eater, the welcome from Sarah and Travis was warm and friendly, very clean and cosy, will be our local Sunday roast treat from now on, keep up the excellent work, and thank you. Did take a photo but it was blurry, and would not have done this excellent meal the justice it deserved.

Luvly old fashioned pub (with Sky Sports) had Sunday dinner and was amazing, staff were friendly and the roast potatoes are better than my Mrs (did not tell her that) highly recommended and also quiz night is a good experience

Haven't visited this place for a few years and thought we would give it a try now it is under new ownership. Met Sarah who gave us a really friendly welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The meal was first class, large helpings, reasonable and plenty of choice. On a Monday they do a special deal for over 60s which was fantastic. A really lovely little place to visit, which deserves to be put on the map! Well done Sarah - keep up the good work!!!

The new team running this place is super welcoming and very very friendly. The new landlady is really going out of her way to make this place a great Pub. They have a new chef and a brand new menu which looks great. We just popped in for drinks but ended staying all evening. I'd recommend this place.

I was popping in and out occasionally from January to May then sadly the Pub shut Happy to to have found the place back open and popped in last night and the place has been “cleaned up” and updated by the new Publican. Had the BBQ Chicken pizza which was simply divine. Great pub with great new menu with renewed energy. Well worth a visit.

A holiday isn’t complete without fish and chips and these at the Plume of Feathers did not disappoint. Lovely light crispy batter with no nasty yellow stuff lurking underneath, fresh fish and real chips.

We came across this pub by chance , while waiting to collect our motor home from the motor home centre garage along the road. Outside there was a sign saying 'come inside we are awesome'. How right they were. It was a clean, homely and welcoming pub. We had a fabulous omelette , freshly cooked. As we were there on a Thursday wet afternoon we were the only customers at that time, the landlord was very friendly but not intrusive and we had a very comfortable visit. When it was time for us to go and collect our now ready vehicle there was a huge downpour outside and the 'awesome' landlord actually drove us to the garage. How about that for service. Many thanks Plume of Feathers . We highly recommend you try this lovely pub.

While staying at The Four Seasons, Hampshire, we were directed for dinner to another establishment about 15 miles away. We were visiting with a local who told us about The Plume of Feathers about 5 minutes from the hotel in Crandall. On arrival, we were treated like royalty. The food was marvelous as was the atmosphere and locals who stopped by our table for a chat as big surprise. If you are in the area, this pub is a must.

The pub is local to us but we don't use it very often. We had a dinner there about 18 months ago and it was pretty good. We had a pint the other evening and decided to book for Sunday lunch.We arrived just before our booked time and we were seated promptly in the restaurant having got a drink first.The lad that was our waiter was very helpful and we each ordered our choice of roast dinner.The plates arrived shortly afterwards. They were full! And hot! There was a very good selection of veg and potatoes and a generous portion of meat. For £6.95??? Excellent.We each chose a pudding as well. They'd run out of clotted cream but the waiter offered to whip fresh cream for us if we wanted it. That's called 'going the extra mile'. We settled on custard and ice cream instead but we certainly appreciated his offer!All in all... highly recommended for a great value, hot meal in a 5 rated hygiene standard pub.Also I will mention they have a great selection of ales as well. Top marks! Book in advance too!!

Already missed the lunch hours at another establishment close by (by a minute and they wouldn't accommodate). We were heading to a friends place at Flushing and wanted to get some lunch before lobbing up. The staff were very friendly and let us know that it was only roasts, ie pork, beef but also included stuffed chicken breast. The meal was awesome; really cooked well, loads of vegies, and only GBP$7.95? (dont know how they make a profit?) Its a small place so it may not cater too well for large numbers. After having received some positive feedback regarding the quality of the food at this venue, I recently visited The Plume of Feathers with my husband for a meal. I had pre-booked our table and arrived in plenty of time, announced our arrival and decided to get a drink first. We received a warm reception and was advised to sit where we wanted, when we were ready. There were two people at one table and a family of four adults and two children at another table in a restaurant that had approximately a dozen tables of varying size. We sat down and the waitress brought us the menu. Shortly afterwards she took our order and said that there may be a little wait for the food as there were others also waiting for their food. I assumed that she was referring to the other two occupied tables and said that was fine. What I didn't realise was that, as well as cooking for the occupied tables in the restaurant, the chef was cooking bar meals as well (of which there were quite a few) and, as everything was obviously cooked freshly, we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our order to arrive (exactly one hour after arriving at the restaurant)! As the kitchen was attached to the restaurant and open plan we were able to watch everything that was going on. To their credit, the chef and the waitress worked really hard but, as there were only the two of them, food delivery was slow. When our food arrived the waitress was very apologetic for the delay and said that they had "not expected it to get so busy so early". The food was generally good and there was plenty of it but not sure if it was worth the 45minute wait! We finished with a coffee and was unable to eat the chocolate mint as that was white (left near heat) and unedible. This was not the fault of the chef or the waitress as they had been put under pressure but the management seemed to be very relaxed about everything and concentrated on their bar customers rather than being a little more 'hand on' throughout the whole establishment. I am unsure whether, at extremely busy times, there are more chefs available to work but, based on our experience, we do not see how our chef would manage if there had been more than three tables occupied in the restaurant.
