Met a group of people at this beautiful village pub, we all left our order for lunch and went on a gorgeous walk. Upon our return, the food was ready, the atmosphere inside the pub was superb and all the staff were polite, efficient and very friendly. The food was perfect and the choice was ideal for a group of hungry walkers! Good selection of beer too. Ample parking. Lovely garden. Couldn't ask for anything more. Will return asap.

15 of us parked at the lovely Plume & Feathers and walked around the area in the morning and then treated ourselves to lunch. All 15 dishes were superb. Everyone left very happy and wanting to return sooner rather than later. Lovely service, family feel, friendly, social pub with a lovely garden. No better way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon! Very 🙂 to see 6 choices of cask ale. All well advertised; pump clips of the ones round the corner of the bar were displayed so you knew their full choice👍 Dogs well catered for with TWO fresh water points. Loos had been nicely refurbished. We didn't sample the food and when we went there was live music in the garden which wasn't to our taste but we only popped in for a couple of drinks.

The Plume of Feathers is an absolute gem of a local pub that goes above and beyond in every aspect. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The owner even took the time to introduce himself personally, checking in to see if there was anything more they could do for us – a touch that truly sets this place apart. One of the coziest, dog-friendly pubs around, The Plume of Feathers offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for both families and those looking for a good evening of entertainment. The traditional English vibe is complemented by an array of engaging activities, including lively quizzes and karaoke nights, ensuring there’s always something fun happening. The food is nothing short of amazing, with a focus on sourcing ingredients as locally as possible. The venison lasagna is an absolute must-try, showcasing the high quality and thoughtfulness that goes into their menu. Whether you're in the area for a family day out or seeking a memorable night out, The Plume of Feathers is very much worth a visit.

The manager is incredibly rude and argumentative. The food took 50 minutes to arrive and when we complained he argued back and said that was incorrect and brought our ticket to show us that the food didn’t take that long. I then showed him the card receipt that we had ordered the food 15 minutes earlier than the ticket said and we were right and he said “I’ve already apologised, what do you want me to do about it?”. We were very upset by the whole situation, it was entirely unnecessary. We will not be back. Edit after response from pub: How disheartening yet utterly unsurprising you have to fake a narrative. We never shouted at your bar staff in the slightest and I’m sure that they would also agree, as she came afterwards to apologise for her managers behaviour.

Popped in here for Saturday lunch after The Old George said they served food at lunchtime but wouldn't serve us because they were too busy. Nice little traditional (but not fake traditional) pub. Half the pub was full of diners, the other half had locals watching the 6 Nations rugby; they didn't create much noise but gave the place a buzz. The staff were friendly and we got served promptly. I had a special of pork with mash that was very tasty. Some decent ales on: Timothy Taylor Boltmaker and Woodforde Wherry are the ones I remember.

Lovely little village pub. Superb staff and service all round. Good food, nice roast. Parking was good. They also accept all dogs on a short lead which is lovely. Even had treats given by bar staff. Nice touch. Lovely atmosphere. Only 4 stars as it felt a little cramped. 4 people trying to eat at a small table, chairs clanging with next tables. Cozy, but perhaps a little too cozy for my comfort. Other than that, and if you like intimate atmospheres and rubbing shoulders literally as you eat, then it would 5 stars. Still great experience and would definitely go back. Firstly for the service and secondly for the food. Definitely worth a visit

I honestly don’t know where TripAdvisor got the photos from for this pub, but they are both wrong. The first shows the wrong Plume of Feathers and the other is so old, it’s beyond belief. This photo was taken about 15+ years ago, when the pub was owned by someone else. The telephone number is wrong too. The new owners have created a smashing, welcoming village pub, with friendly staff serving delicious food to suit all tastes and a fine selection of beers. Give it a try, you certainly won’t be disappointed.

The plume of feathers in Ickleford is an exceptional pub, considering it's a village pub, is the least it has to offer. From the variety of drinks to pub food. A weekly food menu, plus Paul's pizzas, are as homemade as they get. OMG, amazing. (Even I ate a whole pizza to myself). Not only can you eat in, but the landlord and landlady also allow takeaway. Exceptional food at exceptional prices. Plus there is regular entertainment of live bands. We recently attended a stars in your eyes night ( yes, like the programme), plus the price is right. This pub has a lot to offer and by far is above any town bar without losing the village aspect. It's definitely a place to consider visiting. Really looking forward to their beer and cider festival for the Kings Coronation, plus other upcoming events. All in all, it is a very welcoming pub that I would highly recommend.

I was astonished with the food we recieved here on Thursday evening. We ordered 3 bacon & cheese burgers, a ham egg & chips, wings & a Greek Salad. The burgers tasteless & dry, with a thick slab of back bacon. The ham contained lots of fatty meat. The wings were dried up and smothered in a hot sauce, unedible. the greek salad comtained articholes & pickled onions. I have never seen such a shambolic serving of food for such simple basic meals.

We came from the local Lavender Farm nearby and the Plume was one of the nearest pubs to the farm, and the outside of the pub was very attractive though there was not many people inside. However once inside we were welcomed nicely by the landlady and with the extremely warm weather we decided to sit outside. We ordered some drinks and food which was all very nice, one of our group said the fish was as good a piece of fish as he had for some while. It was a shame the pub was not busy as the service, drinks and food all seemed good. Only downside for us was that the outside area where we sat was a bit scruffy and patchy, particularly the grass.

Went here for Sunday lunch after looking at some reviews we thought we would give it a try. Well where to start….. we were shown to a table where we were squashed up and odd tables joined together. We overheard a member of staff also asking someone in the bar area who were having a drink to move tables so they could cram some extra tables in for food ! All the tables are far too close together and affords little room for comfort . There was no ambiance at all in the restaurant or bar and the whole place was very noisy .We ordered from a limited menu but ok for a Sunday lunch. We ordered between us beef and lamb. The food came out on cold plates, followed not so quickly by a small dish of cold vegetables We then had to wait for cutlery to be brought to the table. . The lamb was no more than a small chop and most of it fat I would say probably got two 50pence pieces of meat from it! And the (sirloin) of beef was like wafer thin ham!!. . Had a member of staff returned to ask us how our meal was we would have asked them to heat it up as everything was cold and for some more meat, but they did not seem bothered to do that. We did not dare chance a desert. . Seems like they just want to pack everyone in to get the revenue but not to provide the quality, quantity or service. So very disappointing. Would not return.

Revisited this pub after a few years away. England football match on and mostly empty, albeit Tuesday night. Used to be a much buzzier pub in the week, though can't fully judge on one night. Also, no longer does food. It has a pool table. All in all, lacked a bit of atmosphere for a match night. Guinness is okay and prices reasonable. Has tables outside.

Had a table of 4 booked for tonight at 7pm. Once we ordered we noticed it was 45mins and our starters hadn't arrived. We asked the waitress who said she'd check, she then brought over the mains. We told he'd we was waiting for our starters, she then went and came back with the mains and told us everything was ready and would need to bring everything over or it would go cold. We agreed as we where all hungry. So we had our mains and starters at the same time, food was warm but not hot. Once eaten we asked for desert menus. We ordered our deserts which then took over 45mins again. We got to 9.30pm when they arrived. We ate these quickly and went straight to the bar to pay. We where shocked to find no discount and not even our drinks removed from the bill. After the very long waits for food and the mix up with starters there was no compensation. The waitres even said it was her fault that the mix up happened but nothing wad amended to the bill ? The food was nice but not worth the poor service. They need to employ more waitresses staff to cope with the demand ! We had booked a table for the following Saturday which we will cancle after tonight's meal.
