The Platform in North Hertfordshire

Revisited this pub after a few years away. England football match on and mostly empty, albeit Tuesday night. Used to be a much buzzier pub in the week, though can't fully judge on one night. Also, no longer does food. It has a pool table. All in all, lacked a bit of atmosphere for a match night. Guinness is okay and prices reasonable. Has tables outside.

Great bar staff now since new management and friendly atmosphere only downside no food but plenty off restaurants around.

Nice to watch sports. Shame they don't do food anymore!

Lots of seat, loads of TVs, good atmosphere (came to watch football) and great location in the town. Plenty drink options. Can't fault it.

Was here for a little while whilst waiting a nearby venue to open. Very good atmosphere and good olden charm decor. Service was a little slow and wasn't happy about being moved twice as they kept reserving tables. I get it was coming up to a busy time with the football, but felt tables should have been allocated sooner, rather right near the time.

Very friendly staff and great food. We went mid week but could imagine you get a completely different vibe at the end of the week/weekend. Great to watch football with so many screens all around.

First time in this pub/restaurant clean, comfy and the staff were helpful, was a bit disappointed food wise though, it was a very limited menu, and a few things I wanted weren't available so went for the rump steak with a mushroom sauce and fries, steak was relatively ok although was a tad under done for my liking possibly due to being a pretty thick piece, the chilli cheese bites were nice though, hot and tasty with the cheese still melted, all in all not too bad for what is pretty much, pub grub

We didn’t have food but came for a drink and to relax and chill, after a long drive from south wales, staff were very friendly blonde lady was really polite and helpful, always called you darling,lovely little bar warm and welcoming environment, we will definitely try the food next time we come to letchworth

Came here Boxing day evening, had a great meal, the service was very good, and the atmosphere was very good. I found this pub by accident, as I was looking to find a place to eat, while I was heading back to Northampton. Money well spent.

Great mangers. Great staff. Great food Great drinks. All the staff are friendly and professional. I love coming here for a night out and to watch the football. And it's my get away from everything.

We went there for NYE, should've been such a good night but someone spilt their drink over the decks and the vibe died with 80's music!! Such a shame! Saturday nights in there are bangin.

It's very good if you like karaoke and like to hear people sing.

I had a great meal tonight with the family . The mixed grill was well worth the money and the steak was cooked to perfection . Great service by the friendly staff . Thanks Ray & family

Karaoke night was brilliant. Stu and the team (Dani, Jack and Eva) were on top form and my friends and I all had a fantastic night. Just perfect to get the pre-Xmas weekend up and running. Keep up the good work guys and merry Christmas to you all. See you in the new year

Due to the lack of places for a drink in letchworth we tried the Platform. All I can say is this is possibly the worst bar I have ever been to. Right from the start the security were so rude and intimidating. Waited 5-10 minutes to get served at the bar and then the server got the order wrong and started moaning about us to other staff. We eventually left without getting a drink. Will never go here again and will activly discourage anyone else from.going. There's not a lot of choice in letchworth, but would rather get a cab to Hitchin than spend my hard earned here.

We had no food but lots of beer! And 4 beers are a schnitzel, because the beer was cold it gets 5 stars. The ambience was good, it was like a disco with the top songs from 2000 😜. So age accordingly. The young ones joined in the celebration. We wanted to stay longer but had other plans 😜 It's worth a detour!

Came here for Karaoke night on Thursdsy night, had an amazing time great atmosphere, the staff were loverly, shout out to Stu and Eva on the bar they were amazing and really welcoming, highly recommend coming down on a Thursday night to the platform

Very nice pub opposite Letchworth station, quick service and friendly staff, excellent value for money

On a late train back from London, waiting for a pick up, a stop for an hour or so, a couple of pints and an excellent fish sub. It's lovely at a weekend, and great fun too, but on Tuesday I was able to sit and catch up on a few bits and bobs with no worries at all. Super friendly team too, highly recommended!

14/10/2023 - Restaurant was quiet and clean. The bartender George was absolutely wonderful, he was very polite and patient when talking with my mother (who is hard of hearing). I will definitely be coming back 10/10 (Side note: I tried to publish my review on Tripadvisor but it didn’t go through, I just wanted this young man to get the praise he deserves)

Came up for just a chilled evening with some friends Wednesday night and we were served by a lovely young lady called Eva. She took the time to properly engage with us and strike up a conversation. 10/10 service and wonderful at her job !

Great pub for foof and sports. Special mention to Jack. Very attentive and a great addition to the team.

Went to watch the football on a Saturday evening. Pub was very busy but had great service. Food was typical pub grub but came out quickly and was very tasty. Special mention to Jack who made sure our visit was a pleasure.

Chloe is an amazing bar staff, always got a smile on her face and always cracking jokes, she knows how to put a smile on everyones faces.

Just stopped in for a quick pint on the way to the train. Service from Jade was on point and great atmosphere in the pub for the rugby.

Recently visited here over the weekend. Drinks are well priced and the food is good. I stayed for the music both nights and the DJ was good. Would also like to thank George, Jack, Chloe and the manager Stu for their great service. I’ll be sure to visit what is a great pub again.

I come to this pub every now and then when I passing by, and I have to say I’ve never left disappointed. On every visit, the staff are attentive and pleasant. A standout in the team is Paulina, a lovely girl who is always going above and beyond for the guests. I visited to watch the Man City game last night, and she wasn’t there on this occasion but I thought she deserved a mention anyway. I opted for a BBQ Mac burger, which was so delicious and perfectly cooked. I asked for the chefs name. So, hats off to Zoe! Great pub really

I came here for a few bevs with my good childhood friend Liam. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Stu and Chloe were very welcoming and made us feel like apart of the family. The drinks are reasonably priced and fresh. The venue is always very clean, warm and welcoming. Overall, I rate the platform as the best pub in letchworth and is unequivocally ahead of all its competitors. I will definitely be coming back again.

I met up with friends and got told I was only 4 pint of fosters on Thursday 31st August but the pub as nice staff and good food and drink and music

Lots of choice for drinks. Friendly staff. If you want sports it’s all there. Situated bang in the middle of town to east to get to. Maybe the only thing was the prices of the drinks. £11 for a pint and a bottle seems high

Went down to the opening night of karaoke after seeing it advertised on their social media. Really impressed to see Stu and the team trying something new and think it’ll be a great addition to the pub. Arrived at The Platform around 2ish nice and early for the community shield. First impressions not so bad seemed quite pleasant, the food and drink looked good and was reasonably priced so with that we ordered our first round of drinks. As they were delivered to our table the man who served us decided to bring them over on a tray and didn't execute it as well as he should have which resulted in my pint pouring all over the table. Having said that he was quick to apologise and granted me a free beer for the spillages. A massive thank you to butter fingers who we had to keep and eye on every time he passed with a round of drinks/food, all in all good day out and food was great 👍

It is an amazing place for both food and drinks, cant wait for football to come back this season!

Great Cod and Chips at the Platform. The staff as always were great and the service brilliant. £9.49 for a great meal and a soft drink, crazy good price for the quality you get.
