Fabulous! So it's Friday night and the Polugh is fully booked as usual. Forgot to ring ahead! The menu on the blackboard is home cooked classics. Hungrier than I thought... luckily, Mel and Linda do takeaways and a quick half a pint later, we leave again with three generous plates of fish, peas and Linda's amazing chips wrapped in foil. Fabulous.

I haven’t eaten here since Peter and Christine had the pub many years ago because we moved away. Many friends have said just lately how good the food is so thought I would take my friend for her Birthday. It was fabulous! The decor hasn’t changed but who cares? My friend had a newly landed whale and chips, myself pie and vegetables and my Granddaughter nuggets and chips.Simple,I know, but even the chips were beautiful. Desserts were not a disappointment either, homemade strawberry cheesecake…WOW, Toffee and Pecan roulade…Deeeeeeelicious and waffle with fruit and ice cream that was bigger than my Granddaughter! I will most definitely be back!!

The Plough pub take away service is without question the very best in the area of Newark. The food is Hot, very well presented and the taste is first class due to Fresh ingredients. The Food from the Kitchen is cooked to perfection and a credit to the Chef/Cook. Excellent Service provided without question and is consistent. The other aspect is if you do not use the resources available it could be lost !

What can I say, you really must sample the afternoon tea, it is faultless, the quantity, quality of food and presentation is superb. Where else would you get this at £7.00 per person? It went down a treat whilst watching Rugby and the best bit is that there is some left over for later. Thank you

The food is absolutely faultless, don't know how Linda does it but everytime we visit it is perfect and so much of it. My husband and daughter are still talking about the stilton sauce on the chicken, 'superb' Always friendly with a bit of banter. Just give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Welcoming, friendly traditional pub. Found with Google recommendation. Excellent lunch with daughter, son in law and one year old grandson. Great value. Saved for next trip. Very friendly ‘natives’!

On recommendation from some very dear friends of ours, who have just moved into their first home together in Norwell, we agreed to go to their new local pub “The Plough pub. So pleased we did. Once a month is Fish night, and I can honestly say I have never tasted better prepared or cooked fish anywhere in the world. After our food we had a lovely chat with our hosts, Mel and Linda, who is the chef. Absolutely outstanding standard of food, with a great friendly warm atmosphere. Can’t wait for the next Fish night. Don’t miss this little beauty. See you soon, John and Dee. ( friends of the Overtons of Norwell)😃😃

We were staying in a B&B just up the road so had a nice walk to the pub. Very friendly welcome and good banter from both landlord and regulars. Food was wonderful. Brie in a thin batter and mushrooms garlic mayo for starters. Mains were just fantastic! Plaice with prawns and watercress sauce was lovely. The fish platter was however one of the best we have ever had - 7 fish and not small portions! Prawns, calamari, whitebait, swordfish, salmon, haddock and bass. Brilliant. Wished we live in Norwell - we would eat and drink here often!!!

We had been visiting the Norwell Nurseries and the owner recommended the Plough for lunch. There were 8 of us, and so we rang through and booked to make sure of the space. No problem. When we arrived we were greeted by what seemed to be the landlord, he was most helpful. We mainly ordered the pies, which were nice, with plenty of chips. Some of us also managed sweets. Everyone enjoyed the visit and we plan to eat there again when we next visit Norwell.

Our first visit here. My food average. It was veg lattice pie, pastry was under cooked and had a soggy bottom, the filling was ok. Husband food was haddock and he said it was lovely. Chips very good on both meals. The pub itself could really do with a lick of paint and most definitely could do with a deep clean. Popular with locals though

Dependable good quality pub staple dishes. We enjoy coming here and bringing our friends to sample traditional, un-poncy pub grub, along with good beers and ciders. Darts and pool a welcome addition.

Lovely little cosy village pub, which was recommended to us by friends. Had an amazing meal.2 of us had pies which were gorgeous! The food is so tasty and really traditional, which is rare in pubs these days. The food was very filling too big plates for such reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend this friendly pub and would certainly return in the near future!

Not many 74yr olds can boast of taking the In Laws out to Lunch. The Plough is local to me and fast earning an excellent reputation. Father and Mum in law absolutely delighted with quality and quantity of meal and excellent service. Thanks to Chef Haley and all staff for a memorable meal and day.

Fabulous food, friendly staff and value for money. We were staying at a nearby caravan site and had some family coming over to visit. Took a chance on the nearest pub for Sunday lunch, turned out to be a great choice.

Called in last week for lunch. The Thai fishcakes and chips were excellent. Beer from the Milestone Brewery in Cromwell - very good. Unfortunately not dog friendly, they have 4 tables outside on the front where dogs and customers are welcome.

Good choice of different Sunday lunches also pies and fish. Fresh veg and proper mashed potato. Only complaint roasts were tiny and soggy seemed like frozen. Cherry pie and apple pie with custard were both excellent. Basic surroundings

This is a local pub in a pretty village which also serves food. There is nothing fancy here just good beer and plain home-cooking. We were staying locally and walked to this pub which has outside seating. The right hand side is the bar area and the left hand side is for dining. There are beams on the ceiling which may be purely decorative. It was the monthly fish night and I had grilled plaice which was probably the best I have eaten anywhere. The garlic bread however was a disappointment and the dessert menu did not inspire but in any case I was too full from the plaice which was huge with plenty of moist flesh, cooked just right. I tried the local beer, from the micro-brewery in the next village, and this was also very good; it was a light beer and not bitter. Service was efficient and friendly.

Literally come here all the time to meet my parents, they even know my coffee order when I walk in which always feels lovely. Staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you or the dogs which they always make a fuss of! Lovely to have a nice family coffee shop where you can come to meet your own family with the dogs!

I was looking forward to dining here as a coeliac but the service I had wasn’t exactly accompanied with a smile. The gluten free pancakes that I ordered were delicious but unfortunately they clearly were not gluten free due to the terrible reaction I had later on that day.. very disappointing. Even though I confirmed with the waitress that the pancakes were gluten free!

We were staying for 1 night after a family get together. Checking in was very easy, with a key left outside your room, so you could check in at your leisure. Rooms were gorgeously furnished, with everything you could possibly need and very clean. Really pretty flower borders just outside our bedrooms. All of us slept well in the very comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing and we felt well catered for as vegetarians. We’re looking for an excuse to come back and stay here, we had such a good stay!

Tucked away within an antiques emporium this little jewel. From entering the shop you’ll be greeted by a lovely gentleman. The food was exquisite made to order not mass produced. The taste out of this world. Skill, time and quality ingredients. We were blown away. Will definitely visit again! Worth seeking out!
