Lovely pub. We only had cake which was very nice as the coffee machine was under repair but we did have soft drinks. We have booked in for Christmas lunch in December and are really looking forward to it. The staff are very friendly and chatty. The pub is very cozy and clean and the 70's 80's background music was spot on. Thanks for a lovely afternoon and looking forward to Christmas lunch.

We had not been to the Plough since the new owners took over and quite frankly I doubt we will visit it again in the near future. The place used to be packed, and it was hard to get a table, now apart from the drinkers it was almost empty. We were a party of five and ordered five different meals, which took an age to arrive. My burger was overcooked to the point of being burned and sat on a hugh amount of overcooked chips. My wife had what was supposed to be a small meat pie which turned to be a hugh wedge, accompanied by garden peas which resembled dried peas out of a packet. Two of the other three meals were as unappealing with the exception of the vegetarian option.

We spent a few days in Foxholes Farm House which is the road up from The Bradfield Plough. Every evening we walked down for a dinner. Food is absolutely outstanding! Could eat it every day. Staff is very friendly, the place is very clean and beautiful interior design. We definitely will be back in the future (would every week if not 5hrs drive 😬🙈) Highly recommended!

Large multi room restaurant, idiosyncratic decor. We were sat in the room furthest from the bar. While initially attentive the serving staff were largely absent, which meant having to trek to the bar to order more drinks. We didn't stay for dessert. Tempora prawns turned out to be scampi (we didn't pay for them).

Went for a quiet drink only got a bit noisy for a short time. Loaded chipy chips with panchetta, barbque sauce and cheese was nice. The menu is standard pub grub but more expensive than say Weatherspoons. Plenty of space outside for sunnier days.

We met family here for a lunch time meal. The area is lovely and the pub is situated well. Our little one enjoyed the small park after our meal outside in the beer garden. The decor in the room we ate was lovely and so fitting. The kids meal was good with drink and pudding included. All of our meals were lovely and there were plenty of choice on the menu. We may return.

Nice established in a beautiful area ! Very big loads of drinks to choose from and decent choice on the food menu. Thought it was a bit expensive a small slice of pie with chips and peas was £16 !! Plus 8 quid for a glass of wine . Plus waitress forgot to give us our knife and forks 😆. I prefer the old horns inn on other side of village but my girlfriend likes this place better probably because old horns is always rammed but the foods better it's better value for money and views are just as good.

Can't understand the positive reviews about the food. The interior remodeling is very nice, light and airy, but the selling point of The Plough has always been the excellent food. Today, our food was awful, from a now very short and dull, clichéd menu. My philly steak wrap was bland, filled for some reason with watery mushrooms and verging on the inedible. My wife's cajun chicken wrap was a sort of spicy slime with two pieces of chicken in it. Overpriced rubbish. Somewhere else we now can't eat.

Called in for 1 drink after a walk . Thinking about eating here next weekend. Definitely won't be bothering now. We were pleased to see there was a tap room so we sat at a table. We were approached by a female member of staff. Didn't tell us her name but she had a navy blue shirt dress on . She came to the table and said Are you eating. We said no just having this drink. To which her instant reply was right well you'll have to move I need this table now for people eating. The couple behind her were extremely embarrassed. We would have been more than happy to move but her mannar was appalling. She then proceeded to start arguing saying there is a notice on the table. I put them there. It wasn't noticeable. I have never been spoken to like that. We definitely won't be back. Do yourself a favour and don't bother. There are other friendlier places. Plus the food going past didn't look that great

What a terrible place this is,I ordered pie really should be called dry because that's what it was! Inedible hard pastry and dried up filling, couldn't cut into it or chew it it was that bad, they gave me another and said that was a fresh one just the same as the first, the chef needs to go back to chef school instead of strutting about looking important wants sacking! The waitress went to fetch a supervisor who didn't want to know!? Too busy doing nothing,we did get money back for the dry pie ,but the other meal wasn't much better.Stay away from this place for food ,better places not too far away. Wouldnt rate this one star if I had the option

Our table was ideally situated near the entrance, the loo & the bar. The food was well presented & tasted very nice. All staff were friendly, polite & very helpful. A 5* experience. Visited July 2024. Under new management, so wasn't sure what to expect. I shouldn't have worried. Again, fantastic value, tasty, well presented food, friendly & attentive staff. Came for a carvery on a Sunday > Good points < - Friendly and helpful staff One member of staff had to deal with some beefy man in a red jumper who had roid-rage. He walked straight to the bar to order a carvery then sat at a reserved table. The young lady (staff member) asked politely if the abrupt man had booked the table. He gave her quite a bit of abuse and asked for his money back. He persistently became more rude when the staff member took his receipt to the bar to get him his refund shouting “I want to hold my receipt you could be going anywhere with that” The staff member didn’t flinch once and dealt with ‘Mr.Anabolic’ really well. - Food was lovely especially the honey roasted carrots. > Bad point < - Carvery queue snakes around customers tables. Uncomfortable situation waiting and stood over someone’s table while they eat. Myself and others apologising to those sat eating. These customers saying themselves about not coming back due to the awkwardness of eating and having a queue of people waiting beside them while they eat.

My friend and I popped into the Plough on Wednesday 10 July for lunch. It was packed out but we managed to find a seat. Staff were helpful, friendly and cheerful. Likewise, the whole place had a lovely atmosphere. I’m coeliac and noted they could do gf fish n chips, we both ordered this dish. The plates duly arrived with plenty of chips and a good sized battered fish, two pots on the side contained home made tartare sauce and mushy peas. The fish was perfect and the gf batter superb, chips were lovely and the sauce and mushy peas delicious. These lovely lunches were just £8.00 each ! Amazing value and very good quality. We will definitely visit again. I was absolutely stunned to read some of the reviews on here as our experience was so different. I would highly recommend this place and if I lived slightly closer would make it a weekly regular.

Booked meal for 4 adults 6.30pm Saturday. Arrived at 5pm for a drink before eating. There was one bar staff pouring drinks for the diners and also for the large group of drinkers watching the football match. There was a dog roaming around the dining tables. We asked for sweet rose wine and was served a dry Pinot instead. The beer was excellent. Been to this pub many times but it’s under new management and calls itself a bistro now. It’s hard to tell what is different from the old Plough, the menu didn’t seem any different. It’s probably a work in progress. Ordered 2 quiche meals , the quiche was cold, the salad was very unappetising and the chips were over cooked. One of our party ate it because she was hungry but the other left virtually all of the meal. Her husband, recovering from a stroke has difficulty using a knife to cut food up, he asked for chicken tikka masala and rice - NO RICE AVAILABLE - decided on chilli con carne with rice - NO RICE AVAILABLE . Come on, rice is a a staple food and to not have it available on a Saturday evening is not good enough. He doesn’t eat chips so chose the food he thought he would be most likely to be able to manage , Toad in the Hole with mashed potatoes and veg. It was tasteless, the veg was too hard for him to cut through and the mash had a hidden stash of chips hidden underneath. No idea why. He left most of the meal. I opted for pie, chips and mushy peas. Big portion but The pie was tepid, the chips tasteless and the mushy peas were dry. A small jug of gravy was provided but the meal was already awash with gravy. Far too much liquid on the plate. I left almost all of the meal. Out of 4 meals only one had been eaten. We told the waitress of our issues, she relayed it to the kitchen staff but no one was interested, the staff virtually shrugged their shoulders. Money spends anywhere. We regularly eat at the pubs and restaurants in Loxley and Bradfield. This was the worst experience ever. We will give our custom to their competitors in future.

Having recently changed from a pub restaurant to a Bistro we would give it a try. What a mistake. Although the steak and ale pies were nice when we got the bill they had charged £29.00 for a bottle of Stoneleigh sauvignon blanc 75cl which can be picked up in many supermarkets or Amazon for £8.50, a mark up of £20.50, I questioned the price and was told these are the new prices. Have been many times without complaint but today's meal was the worst I have ever had anywhere, the chips were burnt and tasted awful as did the onion rings, and swimming in dark oil, the oil definitely needs changing and we weren't the only ones to complain, 3 tables around us said the same, tiny portions and I didn't order from the light bites which tbh was a blessing as the food was enedible, also the salad if you could call it that, was lettuce and two halves if a cherry tomato, no coleslaw which it said there would be, absolutely terrible, I feel sorry for the waitresses as they were inundated with complaints that weren't down to them. what is going on here???

The recent change in management has resulted in a significant decline in the quality of the establishment. The Sunday carvery, once a highlight, now offers a limited selection of two meats and a meager variety of vegetables. The mashed potatoes appear to be reconstituted from frozen roast potatoes, lacking in both texture and flavor. The overall taste of the dishes is bland, with the gravy resembling water. The establishment has lost its charm and appeal, and the prices particularly the £16 carvery, are no longer justified A return to the previous management is strongly recommended to restore the establishment's reputation and attract customers

A takeover and partial re-branding is always a dangerous move. Been long time customers and always loved it. However, called tonight for tea to find the pub has new management. All I can say is where's the atmosphere gone? The cosiness and warm feeling isn't there anymore. Bring back the twinkling lights near the bar! The big window near the fireplace let's in too much light. The menu has changed and all our old favourites are gone. Cheese tart is bland, steak pie has plenty of steak but pastry is not nice at all and generally smaller portions. The old menu was definitely superior to this new effort! Nobody asking if everything was alright with our meals and no cheery goodbye when we left. We feel that a little bit of soul has been ripped out of our favourite pub. Sadly, after many, numerous visits, we'll be giving the plough a miss for a while.

Really delicious food this evening. The menu has some fantastic options and loads of choice for vegetarians and vegans. The staff are lovely and a very welcoming place for dogs.

Had a lovely evening here and had the biggest meal I’ve had in a long time. It was so nice to sit next to the open fire on a misty night and eat wholesome food.

Went on 15th Oct 23. Took my family down 8 year old granddaughter's birthday because strangely enough (for an 8 year old) her favourite meal is Sunday Lunch! We all had Carvery. 3 meats on the pass. Potatoes 3 ways. Good selection of veg and thebusual rich, hot gravy. Puds clearly home made and FRESH. Veg crunchy not sloppy and wet. Service as ever was top notch from the young motivated and enthusiastic staff. We snuck a cake in and staff were only too happy to bring it I with the candles lit and BONUS! They sang happy birthday to her. The Plough never fails to deliver, whether I call in after a walk with the dog for a pie and chips, if I take a friend for a bite to eat, or - take the whole family. And they mucky pigs are to die for. Recommend 100%

Had a family Saturday evening meal and drink. It was busy but service was good.

If I could give this place a 0 star I would honestly the worst experience I have had at Nadia I’m not the type of person to complain but was honestly awful. Firstly the peri mayonnaise from the kitchen which I’m guessing was home made had almost a nail polish scent and tasted burnt a taste I couldn’t describe so i asked a member of staff if they could smell it and she didn’t bother or seem interested in the slightest she said she had the already made package one instead of the one from the kitchen. Then when we was still having ours starters the mains come out and the imitator wrap had the same peri mayo we complained about which I would’ve thought they would change but they didn’t. Then I asked another member of staff who was around 6ft dark skin with braids we explained the situation and he said “what do you want me to do “ which was very unprofessional and he was so rude. Then when we had finished not even that we actually finished our meal we was just so unsatisfied with the experience a man asked how it was and I said awful and politely asked to speak to the manager. When I explained all of this, he seemed uninterested and didn’t give a good enough reason on why we still had the same sauce what was given to use which was un edible he wasn’t apologetic in the slightest he offered me a voucher which I don’t want as Ask it was £30 just for myself and has ruined my experience at all nandos what I didn’t want I would have preferred a refund Terrible staff and terrible food don’t go 😡🤮
