Absolutely love this place. Kev has done a fantastic job since taking over and the pub looks fab. Always a lovely atmosphere. Sampled the new menu today, it was delicious. Highly recommended!!

Had a lovely meal at plough this evening. Best pub meal we have had in a long while. We ate hunter chicken, salt & pepper burger and chicken kiev. We will be back sooner rather than later.

Only popped in for a pint after work. I was met with a warm welcome, and was served quickly. Very clean and tidy place. The place is having work done to the beer garden, it looks as though it'll be a great place to spend a sunny day. Definitely worth paying a visit. Also has many weekend events that would interest a wide audience.

We come most Thursdays for the quiz.

We went for a birthday meal here today and it was brilliant... Good atmosphere and homely decor, Kev was very friendly and welcoming, interacted with the kids and offered me a birthday shot game... he was a fabulous host. The rest of the staff were lovely too, the food was beautiful, lots of selection and all home cooked. Fantastic lunch out and definitely look forward to coming again. Would recommend this place 100% big thanks again to Kev and the team

Brilliant Sunday Carvery. Unfortunately we sat by a couple where the man had sat for ages with his knife and fork apart on an almost empty plate. The staff went to clear and he decided he was going to eat his partners remaining food so told the lad he hadn't finished. We had to put up with the man moaning loudly about table etiquette for over 20 minutes. " my knife and fork weren't laid together vertically so it's obvious I'm not finished"....blah de blah etc etc. Yes that used to be but these days it doesn't always happen.

Went in after many years after Paul & Julie left, as it seemed to go downhill in the period following. New management making all welcome, and first class service by staff. Didn't eat, but neighbouring table of 4 ladies did, and the food served up was of a very good standard, and plentiful. (They confirmed this!) Definitely going back, as was one of our favourite watering holes, and is now one of the few remaining. Recommended!!!

Burns night menu. Food was nice and well presented. However, a lack of whiskey in the sauce and in the "whiskey soaked sponge", in fact no hint of it. Service a bit on the slow side but otherwise OK.

Went to The Plough last night with friends. We had booked the Christmas Dinner to eat before we took part in Kev and Dean’s Christmas Quiz. We do eat here regularly so I knew the food would be good, but, what can I say? The meal was superb. Excellent quality, and all served piping hot to our reserved and decorated table by none other than the landlord himself. Many thanks Kev and all your team for the whole experience. Even though he has only been at The Plough for a few months he is definitely making his mark. Can’t recommend it highly enough. As an added highlight of the evening, we even won the quiz. First time ever. Still can’t quite believe it. Thanks to Kev and Dean for all their hard work and charity fundraising. Will see you all there again next Thursday.

Carvery was "ok". However, took a very long time for the worker to carve the meat. Lasagna was dreadful.

Family party of 25 people, all seated close together, great atmosphere, food was all served hot and fresh together, couldn't fault, great food and bar service will definitely be returning..

i have been having lunch/breakfast regularly mostly on thursdays because a lovely older blond lady gives excellent service with a smile but when we went on 9/11 she was rushed off her feet serving food

Massively gone downhill, I went yesterday and always had a great carvery but today wow! The taste was 0 and the gravy was just like water. Even the sausage in gravy had no taste at all. They don't do the mint gravy anymore too, I know it's been taken over recently but they need to sort the food out massively as numbers will twindle. Like I mentioned always used to be my go to place for a carvery...not any more I am afraid.

We haven’t been here for a few months and decided to visit for a carvery after a nice walk. I’m not sure what the heck has happened, but the food has changed significantly. Everything was bland, tasteless and the meat was so dry, fatty and tasted cheap. The heavy was like water too. The cost for this 1/10 meal was also outrageous. This is really sad, as we used to rate this as one of the best places in the area for a roast. Won’t be visiting anytime soon.

Very average carvery at best! No Yorkshire pudding or stuffing and then sausages are so weird as well boiled in gravy or something

We like a carvery - pointless cooking at home on a Sunday when there are so many on offer in the area . We had heard good reviews regarding The Plough and thought we would give it a go . We didn’t book a table and found early afternoon a few tables were available . A really good choice of the usual meats and an excellent selection of vegetables. All well cooked and tasty.

we called in yesterday lunch with friends very quite I had steak ale pie chunks of tender meat in it pie looked very good but gravy looked like bistro very watery little flavour the wife had chicken which she was very happy with a few beers missing from selection awaiting for delivery the bar staff were very helpful very good service I believe it is under new management so may be things will improve will try again in a few weeks

Called in on our way home from our holiday. Really busy but the staff were polite and efficient. Our meal came and wow looked amazing and tasted even nicer piping hot, beautifully presented. Hats off to the chief.

Absolutely disgusting, people taken drugs in the toilet , drinks all over the floor, open drug dealing . Toilets outside, been there so often, this time it was a disgrace

Just had carvery very disappointed they need to concentrate on quality not quantity purely warm and could not cut beef knives need sharpening big fatty lump of beef had to leave it left most of the meal

The breakfast was lovely not keen on the sausages but this is a personal choice but the service blew us both away, a lovely lady served us and she was the best ever, she was so attentive even bringing foil for our sausage so no we can give them to the dog, she was the bestxxx

Nice pub, quiet and nice for a meal.

Ordered steak and ale pie with creamy mash on the side. Square cubes of 'steak' - looked and tasted like previous days roast beef joint had been diced and covered with very thin roast beef gravy. Mahs was just a grey dollop. very disappointed. Never again.

Took 42 Ladies there early Friday evening. Bar service efficient and courteous, and meals arrived quickly, still nice and hot and very tasty. All the Ladies were happy with what they ate and will call again when we’re in the area. A nice find. Thanks to all the staff, and Manager Steve for all your help and service on the evening.

We've had the Sunday Carvery in the plough wich is just astounding. Had the early breakfast there yesterday . Absolutely tasty and gorgeous . Had the the . Chinese battered goujons wich chilly sauce . The fried onion rings . Barbecued chicken wings with side salad . And chunky chips . The batter was ever so tasty and really crispy . Just WOW . The kitchen staff are brilliant . The bar staff are so welcoming . And salute to the new landlord Steve . My God what a pub

Called in for lunch, never been before but pleasantly surprised. Clean & fresh dining area with a warm welcome from the team. Heating on and everywhere spotless. 80’s music playing which was great. Good pub grub food which was reasonably priced and cooked to order so took about 20 minutes. Good sized portions, homemade steak & ale pie was fab! Only had soft drinks (driving) which were very reasonably priced. Will return.

If you're looking for a speedy stop for Sunday Dinner, this is the place 😊 Very busy which is hardly surprising, can see why it would be so popular! This place is a great pub and the carvery is faultless. It’s great value and has everything you could want for a Sunday roast. The main food menu however lists the chips as ‘handcut chips’ and is far from it as they are just horrible...

The food tasted like it was cooked from frozen asif they just went out and bought it from Iceland.. I could have made better food myself . Meat was fatty and chewy . Half was warm half was cold.. wouldn’t recommend . Save your money

Here now. The meals were terrible. Just swimming in grease. We couldn’t eat most of the food. Told a member of staff, but she wasn’t interested and didn’t even apologise. Very disappointing. Will never go there again.

Just been to the Plough for a Sunday lunch cannot fault it. The food was delicious and perfect size portions, very well cooked. Staff were attentive and very friendly and helpful. The new management have done a fantastic job, will definitely be going back.

Went out for tea with my husband and two children. Booked a table but need not have bothered as there was only one other table there. We were seated straight away and drink orders were taken promptly. When the waitress brought our drinks she took our food order. We then waited for 50 minutes for our food to finally arrive! When the food was brought to the table there was no apology for the wait. I could understand if it was busy but for it to be empty and still take so long was unacceptable. The food was nice when it arrived but to be honest we were all that hungry from waiting that we would have been happy with almost anything. I would think twice about going there on a weekend when it would probably be busier

When we arrive after pre-booking, the tables were not reserved. The drinks orders and Food orders were wrong. Overpriced for the average food. Lamb shank, £16, but should have been more like £8, no meat on it. Also very muddy outside. Bad management training clearly. Reduced menu from what is advertised also.

Having booked two tables for my daughter's 18th Birthday, we arrived having driven some considerable distance. On arrival a sandwich board informed us we couldn't drive into the area where the tables are. We ignored this and drove in to find several other vehicles parked there already. The customers there appeared to have never seen a M.P.V. before. They found our arrival fascinating and stared at us. The only free tables weren't under cover and had become victims of the bad weather. I went inside and told a staff member that we had a booking. She informed me they had no tables under cover but could put up umbrellas "if you want." I assumed she had a magic wand that would have made the rain soaking the seats and the tables disappear. She informed me that the only protected dining area was already occupied. I noticed that the punters using this were only drinking, not dining. The management should have been better prepared under the circumstances. I booked almost a week in advance. There were 8 of us in our party (hence the need for two tables) so they lost out on a substantial amount of money. Perhaps they make enough from the customers who like to stand in the pouring rain staring at cars.

Had booked a table to drink on a bank holiday Sunday. Despite the weather being on and off rain. Would have expected them to be prepared for bookings especially. Was not expected being told to stand under our own umbrellas.. a few table umbrellas wouldn’t go a miss taking into consideration the amount of tables there was.

Ordered a fish, a chicken pie and a steaj& kidney pie, all with chips and garden peas. A very substantial meal and still hot when delivered, will definitely do it again..

We ordered a roast for 3 people Sunday the 13th December to be delivered it took a long time to arrive and when it did was very disappointed with the quality of the food .. everything had turned soggy was unable to eat was that bad

Another beautiful roast dinner delivered, nice and hot and the beef just melted in my mouth. I’ve always eat here and supported them during these crazy times and these guys never fail to deliver in every way!! Don’t even think twice about ordering you will not be disappointed xxx

We have just got back home from having a wonderful Sunday lunch. We both had the lamb (glad we pre ordered the lamb, because they had none left) The food was exceptional, very tasty and plenty on our plates. The ladies serving were also very polite and courteous. We will definitely be going back again in the near future. If you haven’t yet visited The Plough for food, I recommend you try it. Thanks for reading my review. Enjoy your food.

We haven't eaten indoors yet at the Plough due to covid however we have had 5 Sunday roast dinners delivered during September and October 2020. We have had roast chicken and beef dinners and they have been excellent on every occasion. The food is always hot and there is plenty of it. Particularly like the roast potatoes. Yorkie puds are delicious and they are happy to provide extra pots of gravy. Delivery has been on time and the drivers polite and safety conscious. Will definitely be using the restaurant as restrictions ease Would highly recommend.

Beef dinner, 2 slice out of 3 of beef dry, veg with exception of Roast potatoes overcooked (steamed).Was informed it would be hot, horseradish sauce fine though

Called with family. Lunch was very limited but to be fair we were probably past lunchtime.I had roast beef sandwich and a coffee husband didn’t fancy offering available so just had chips and coffee. This came to £14. (Can’t remember pence) which was outrageous for what we received.Beef sandwich- cheap white bread, crisps and coleslaw, beef was lovely.Coffee was comedic but I wasn’t laughing.First cups of coffee were cold sent it back. It was from a machine. Second cup of coffee Luke warm - sent it back asking if they could make us a cup of coffee with a kettle instead. Young lad behind bar - on his own thing to do his best said they had instant coffee which I said would be preferable. Third cup of coffee still from the machine was now hot- could have been hotter if kettle had been used but by now we were dying of thirst and glad of the drink but coffee itself was dyer . Hard to find a reason to return

We visited this pub for Sunday lunch with 3 grandchildren in tow. Three of us had roast beef dinners with all the trimmings and they were delicious as always (during lockdown we have been having occadional takeaway Sunday lunches). Alicia (Elisha?) was lovely trying to accommodate the two younger children's request and even though their choices weren't strictly on the menu they were given what they asked for which was very kind of them. The dining room & bar were very well organised to ensure social distancing. I do and always will recommend this pub for the good food and lovely friendly atmosphere. No doubt we will be dining there very soon
