After hiking we arrived without a reservation, and the team opened the back room for us and for other visitors who just dropped by, they even put music on and lit the fire, creating an amazing atmosphere. Lovely kind team, amazing food, we must visit as we want to try more food from the menu:) Thank you for the warm welcome and the amazing food!

This is the second time I came here on my way to a hike. This place never fails to deliver. Great food, location and staff. The food is a bit more on the expensive side compared to normal pub food but it makes sense given the quality

Me and my now wife had our wedding party here and we couldn't have been happier. From start to finish, the owner, Enes, couldn't have been more accommodating and done everything he could to make our day special. His staff also worked tirelessly on the day.Everyone commented on how good the food and venue was for our wedding party. We would just like to thank them so much for all their efforts & couldn't recommend them enough. Charlie & Izzy

A lovely inn for a two night stay whilst going to Wimbledon🎾 Great food, good selection of quality wines and beers. Lovely friendly staff. Our room was nothing like the photos unfortunately… very tired and scuffed, divan covers not fitted.. Would this stop us from rebooking… no As in general it is really a hidden gem!🎾

Just back from a weekend walking the Surrey hills, staying at the Plough. This is a lovely place, in a superb setting. I was very struck by how friendly and welcoming the staff are - the two guys were excellent hosts. My room was very comfortable and nicely presented. Only criticism of it was that it was rather dark - there were lightbulbs missing from both wall lights and the standard lamp which, with no main light, really only left the bedside lamp. The bar is very welcoming, with a friendly circle of locals. The food menu is a little basic but the burger I had was very very good. I was given a free glass of wine to compensate for them not having any replacement bulbs, which was much appreciated. My only slight criticism really was the following morning when I had breakfast. The lady serving gave me the menu and then stood over me waiting for me to order. Breakfast was very nice but when I was paying for last night’s meal, it was £68, the free glass of wine and a random pint of beer having been added to the bill. Although these were removed, bringing it down to £49, she then pointed out to me that I’d been given a free upgrade from the room I’d ordered and that it would normally have been £135 rather than £115. I was a bit baffled by this - the room I had looked to me to have exactly the facilities of the £115 room, the £135 one being a family room. Either way, being upgraded, if I was, was a very nice touch, but I couldn’t see why it was only told to me when I was pointing out that I had been wrongly billed for my evening meal. However, I wanted to fill my Thermos with tea to take on my walk but there were no teabags in the room so I asked if this could be done here and she obliged, which I did appreciate. All in all a lovely stay, and I will definitely return.

We stayed a night here and enjoyed the breakfast the next month. It's a cosy little pub in the middle of nowhere. The room was large, bed comfortable, and it was quiet. However the best thing was the shower. The staff were very friendly, including the great dane. We were able to have a nice chat. Breakfast the next morning was good too. Did I mention the shower?

A Most Precarious Repast at The Old House at Home There are few things in life as sacred as a well-poured drink and a sturdy table upon which to set it. Imagine my horror, then, upon entering The Old House at Home, only to find myself dining not in stately comfort but in a state of perpetual imbalance. One reserves a table with the reasonable expectation that it will, at the very least, stand firm beneath one’s elbows. Alas, what I was met with was a rickety, quivering contraption, trembling at the mere suggestion of movement. My fellow diners and I found ourselves locked in a silent contest of steadiness, each lifting a fork with the precision of a bomb disposal expert, lest we send our glasses skidding into oblivion. To make matters worse, this architectural affliction was not limited to my table alone; no, the neighbouring furniture appeared to share in this affliction, as if the entire room were engaged in some grand, lumbering waltz. A wonky table is not mere inconvenience—it is an insult to the art of dining, a sign of neglect so egregious that one wonders whether management has mistaken rustic charm for outright disrepair. One does not expect to endure a siege upon one’s senses simply to enjoy a meal. A man should be free to place his drink upon a table without fear that it may betray him. Until this most elementary of expectations is met, The Old House at Home shall remain, at best, a folly; at worst, a farce.

Pleasant enough place but food lacked imagination. Not a great variation on the menu.

The People the Grange support will serve you at your table gaining experience of dealing with customers and handling money. This is an excellent and weel worth suppoting. The tea is served in the Victoriam conservatory. The cost is £6.50 a head for a scone, jam and cream with unlimited tea of coffee. Most enjoyable. The only minor downside is the start time of 2 o'close which for us is far too early 3 o;clock for tea would suit us much better and this is the only point thatwill stop us returning
