We got married at Burford Bridge Hotel last month (October 2024) and had the best day ever thanks to the Wedding Coordinator Kiki and the fantastic team. Why we would recommend Burford Bridge: - THE VENUE: Is in "An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". The surrounding area is stunning and the hotel has beautiful gardens overlooking Box Hill. The Tithe Barn is a gorgeous, rustic setting for the day. The Tithe Barn also has its own bar and private areas for wedding guests. There is a large getting ready room for the bridal party to use on the morning of the wedding, and the staff surprised us by bringing up breakfasts and drinks for everyone! - THE HOTEL: We wanted a barn wedding, and having the hotel on site too was a real bonus. Our wedding was on Saturday, but we stayed at the hotel for 3 nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Many of our family/friends had to travel to attend our wedding, and they also stayed at the hotel. The rooms are spacious and there's a good breakfast in the mornings. Having all of the set up/wedding ceremony and reception/hotel rooms etc all in one place took the stress out of the day. - THE TEAM: The whole team at Burford Bridge were so accommodating. They were flexible and nothing was too much trouble. The communication was great: from booking, to the delicious menu tasting, answering my thousands of questions via email! The staff put many personal touches into our day. Special thanks to Kiki and Mary. - THE DAY: The day went off without a hitch, thanks to the staff taking care of everything. They ensured the day ran smoothly from start to finish, which meant we could relax and fully enjoy our day. We would 100% recommend Burford Bridge Hotel.

We booked Mercure Box hill hotel for my husband’ birthday getaway. The service and welcome we received was absolutely gorgeous. I messaged the property if there is anything special they could do and to my surprise all those little element that hotel arranged was stunning. Special thanks to Karima who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay and celebration would be memorable. A glimpse of little things that matters in my picture that I attached below. Thanks Karima and whole Mercure Team for making our stay memorable. JFYI, we booked only a night here but looking at their warmth and arrangements we extended our stay by one more night. Kudos!

We recently stayed in the hotel for 6 nights, in the run up to our son's wedding in the Tithe Barn. Having travelled down from Scotland, we can't thank the staff enough for making this occasion so memorable for us, often going over and above to ensure that everything went smoothly. I would especially like to thank Amelia, Mary and Mallin.

Stayed here during lockdown, whilst working in Dorking. The hotel is in a ideal location connecting to London ect It’s a great old hotel with great grounds, free ample parking and free WiFi The staff where excellent during this difficult time but made our stay very comfortable Will definitely return when things get back to normal. Stayed again in October 2024 as always a fantastic place to stay outside London. Staff and hotel fabulous. Great bar, restaurant and breakfast.

Lovely area. Went here for a wedding. Was a great atmosphere. Staff alittle uncoordinated at the bar not knowing who to serve. But the host was great and the transition with rooms were on point and worked flawless.

Mediocre hotel, felt like the front desk staff did not want to be there or be helpful in anyway...I solely wouldn't go back due to the staff on the reception desk at check in, there's so many other hotels around I would try I've this one because of it

We had our daughter's wedding at this beautiful hotel this weekend. It was glorious. The 17th century barn was perfect for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening party, with it's fabulous timbers adorned with 1000s of fairy lights. The additional dedicated function rooms, bar and gardens were perfect for mixing, chatting and partying. A perfect venue. The staff were so very accommodating of every small request. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Helpful and friendly... Above and beyond the call of duty. The food was excellent and the accommodation was lovely. All our guests were very impressed. I cannot recommend the Burford Bridge hotel highly enough. Thank you to everyone there.

Came here for a conference. Authentic classic building, some charming wear&tear but spotless clean and really comfortable rooms, the bed is a dream. Great team, be it the reception, housekeeping or restaurant, all are doing a fantastic job. Restaurant offers a nice variety on dishes, what i tried was delicious.

Just don't! There might have been better days for this hotel, but at least the room I have been in has been more an insult than a hotel room. Out of words. Stuff has been friendly, but that doesn't help the overall experience.

Very nice hotel, fairly priced. Well located and quite charming. The person I called to book the stay was fantastic Only tiny detail is the reception who was helpful but did not exactly made us feel welcome

Horel and location spot on ! Service terrible needs immediate Improvement ! On check in asked for end room which was accommodated, HOWEVER missing TV remote and when a remote was delivered discovered faulty TV! At this point 2 staff came to check same issues ! Only there 1 night had to move to room next door no issues! Check in was a nightmare , 10 pound to park not made clear! Then my card declined even though I had funds! Treated like I would walk out hotel without paying! a staff member came up to room with card machine when delivering a remote! Very un comfortable! So all in all shocking that the hotel does not check its equipment pre check in tvs etc ruins experience if relaxing stay! Bonus balcony in ropm and nice restaurant

We ordered takeaway online and it was awesome! Miles better than other thai in the area. Ingredients are so fresh and tasty including the lychees and pineapple. Food arrived early and the perfect temperature. The courier was very friendly and polite.

A lovely venue, beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were warm and comfortable. The staff were in the main very friendly and helpful however the service was too slow with an hour wait between starters and mains. We ate from the Christmas menu which was a nicely varied menu with options for veggie and vegan. The beetroot salad starter was odd - serving it on a bed of raw oats was a mistake. It was truly indelibly unpleasant. The menu said it was granola however it was raw oats. They congealed, tasted floury, were unpleasantly soggy and chewy and ultimately not something to be repeated. The waitress agreed how unsuccessful the option was when I chatted with her about it. The Venison haunch, red wine and smoked bacon hotpot was absolutely swimming in grease. The meat was minced and unidentifiable as venison haunch, it could have been any red meat. Given the volume of grease it is perhaps reasonable to question if it was the infamously lean venison. Any bacon was also unidentifiable. Perhaps the grease had once been bacon…? The potato topping was quite dried out and meagre. The Butternut squash, beluga lentil and spinach pecan nut roast was also not good. There were a small amount of pale nuts but I would have struggled to identity them as pecans. I also found a piece of spinach but I couldn’t identify any lentils. It looked and tasted 90% breadcrumbs. The accompanying vegetables were really tasty as was the drizzle of gravy. Requesting additional gravy really saved this meal. For dessert the Black Forest waffle was pleasant but SO SO sweet. It did not need the addition of sickly sweet white chocolate. It would have been nicer with bitter dark chocolate and/or unsweetened cream. This is usually a nice pub with good food but something went wrong with the chef with the Christmas menu. No one should ever have to negotiate raw beetroot poorridge. Not that I am validating the idea of cooked beetroot porridge!!
