The Plough Beefeater in Dover

There were 5 of us and all of us had a lovely meal. 2 of us had steaks which were cooked how we liked them 2 had mixed grills cooked perfectly and a gammon meal which was exactly how my son liked it. The service was absolutely brilliant Mollie was extremely efficient as were the other 2 members of staff. I would come back again soon as we couldn’t fault it Thankyou.

We have been several times before but tonight was not good, the service was very slow and although the food was nice it was cold, especially the vegetables, the staff did not engage with us during the meal and we felt just left to it, we did mention the cold food as a "feedback" but it fell on deaf ears,shame really as the food was tasty I think it was because the service staff were so slow to bring it to us,maybe it's time to try elsewhere!

Have stayed here several times. Use it as stop over when travelling to France on the ferry. This stay was excellent and a big thankyou to Mollie our waitress who looked after use while having dinner. She was really attentive and could not do enough. An asset to the great staff at The Plough. I highly reccommend the Plough, and if you get Mollie as your sever , she will make your night a lot more enjoyable

Fantastic food and must say that Mollie is amazing, happy and so good with the customers. Highly recommend the ribs which fall off the bone!

Every guest had to wait at least 50min for their unlimited breakfast. It seems like they deliberately take so long to serve so you don’t want to order more. The Manager doesn’t care, because they know use visitors wouldn’t come back. He said sorry very insincerely, offered use free breakfast and walked away.

It’s a cute place. The food is EXCELLENT and the service equally amazing. Emma was our server and she was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely meal and Teresa was a fantastic host. Even stayed for pudding because they were so efficient. I would recommend to anybody staying around the Dover area.

Food was very nice, plenty of choice. Staff were friendly, especially Emma. Only visiting the area, but I would come back and eat here if in this area again.

A group of us often meets up at the plough, for a good meal, drinks, and catch up. I had heard that the food and service wasn't what it used to be like, but I thought we would still go. The food took a long time to come out. Some of us were nearly finished before everyone got their meals. I had a steak, which was very fatty and chewy. The mushrooms were shrivelled up and cold. I only ended up eating the new potatoes, peas, etc. 1 of us had lasagne, which was very watery, the pasta on too was shrivelled up and the sai e was tasteless. I could go in. We did bring it to the attention of the young lady who cleared our plates She said she would let the manager know. No one came over to see us about it. We are choosing somewhere different to meet up from now on. You would of thought losing a meal for 20+ people, someone would of done something bit no. I gave a 3 for the staff, not the food

We ate here while staying at the Premier Inn next door. I was wondering how the service would be because when we booked we were told there was only the manager and one waitress serving. However, they both worked so hard and efficiently that we wouldn’t have known they were short staffed unless we had been told beforehand. Well done Emma, you worked so hard and deserve some recognition.

Had the Sunday roast, which was ok as usual. But WHY do I have to pay for gravy, when there is not enough on plate in the first place.??!

Impromptu booking after a busy day, the last day of the Easter holiday, we were not sure how busy it would be. As we have previously experienced, the service was excellent and Emma, as always was very quick to seat us, take our orders, serve, clear the table and finish with our bill, checking how we were and how the food was, despite her being very busy, with larger family gatherings coming and going, Emma was the same happy welcoming lady, with us and all the guests around us.

Had steak, really nice and tender. Better than some steaks I've had in more expensive restaurants. We were served by Lena who was very friendly and accommodating. Fantastic service. Thank you

Lovely meal this evening, "steak sampler" and " Beefeater combo". Steak cooked as requested and both meals a real platefull. Our waitress, Stephanie, was also excellent, happy, cheerfull, and just the right amount of attentiveness! We shall return!

Good food, poor service, long waits while "Supervisory management" wondered around doing very little and could have helped the serving staff by clearing tables and taking drinks orders. Waited way too long for the starter course to be cleared ready for the mains. What happened...

I have been twice in two days and teresa and Emma were very helpful and friendly. One of my favourite places to it which is local to the family.

Emma gave us wonderful service checking for drinks regularly with a very cheery manner. No complaints about the food whatsoever, the only down side was Newcastle beat West Ham while we were eating but that’s not beefeaters fault.
