Charming Thatched pub with an unspoilt interior with a good local reputation.Went for Sunday lunch and my party were not disappointed. . Plenty of well cook food and the beef was delicious, and I enjoyed the Atlantic ale too. Good service even on a very busy day. Highly recommended but suggest you book ahead.

Enjoyed a nice meal for a Saturday lunch time with my family. The team serving was friendly, the menu had a good variety and service was prompt. We had a party of 9 and pre ordered food to ensure it came together. Order was correct and food nice. The pub was lovely with an amazing outside area. There was not a lot of parking available (so be mindful if you are visiting at peak time).

This is an example of how British pubs should be run. From my initial contact regarding a booking to us leaving after our meal, everything was just perfect. Stuart, the fabulous manager, is a credit to the industry. His care, passion and professionalism are second to none, we all thought that he was the owner as he cared so much. All the team were so good, great service, amazing food and a truly fabulous quintessential English pub. The only problem is that it’s in Prestbury and not in our home village, I would be a very regular regular!! Thankyou to everyone for a brilliant time with our family.

Been a couple of times, it was usually ok but this time they told me I need to wait 30-40 mins before I can order food as a walk-in, which I was happy to do. 40 mins later they told me I likely need to wait another hour at least before I can order... There were a lot of other people in the same situation. Needless to say I ended up going somewhere else and I'm unlikely to come back.

All very reasonably priced. They have a number of awards, which we could clearly understand why! It’s a small pub with beautiful surroundings. On a sunny evening the garden would be particularly lovely place to be relaxing. There is a lot of pride by the staff for the upkeep and the service they provide, which is evident. Went here for my father’s birthday for a celebratory meal. The pub and garden were quite busy as it was Saturday evening and with young children and elderly parents in tow I thought I would be spending my whole time ordering things which would detract from my quality time. I was very pleasantly surprised by the speed and frequency of service. I was in a pub yet we the service staff frequently came to take our drinks orders and checked in. It’s a great location for starters, the food was simple, but the service very speedy which was what mattered to me at the time. I believe that many pubs overcomplicate the food offering and don’t focus enough on service so this was refreshing and I believe a strategy that will pay dividends.

This was our first visit to the Plough for some time, and we rediscovered it to be a good place to pop in for a midday meal The ambience is traditional and comfortable; stone slab floors, low beamed ceilings, shades of brown from light bege to old oak, rustic furniture augmented by sympathetic addition of new. The ancient fireplace contained evidence of being brought into operation on cold days/evenings. We were welcomed and our order promptly taken from a hearty menu. Our food was presented in an unfussy, but tidily, on white plates (a sure sign the chef wishes you to appreciate his/her oferings). On this occasion we declined a sweet, our main course had satisfied our older tummies. However the sweets looked seductive. After our meal we wandered the extensive garden with its covered areas, and to one side a fenced play area for children. We recommend The Plough without hesitation.

This is everything you want from a pub in the Cotswolds. Outdoor seating for the warm days, a comfy lounge bar/dining area, and 'the tap room' which (with minimal imagination) feels like you're in Tolkien's 'Prancing Pony' with it's beautiful wood paneling and open fire. We went for lunch with my in-laws (they are local, we are not). A really good selection of menu options from light bites to something more substantial (really reasonably priced and excellent variety). The Plough has a nice range of real ales and ciders (much to my delight) as well as the regular gassy lagers etc. The folk working there could not have been nicer. Really friendly and welcoming!
