Oh dear, our Thai dinner must rate as one of the worst experiences ever. The starters of chicken satay were cold and tough. The accompanying peanut sauce was tasteless. Only a fork and spoon were provided and so we had to ask for knifes! The main courses of noodles were mushy and inedible, it was supposed to be served with chicken but only two small pieces were there. The beef massaman main course was tough and over cooked. Not sure what the sauce was supposed to be but it was a congealed gloop of something brown. So, although the food was most disappointing the bottle of Malbec was excellent and a very good price. Go to the Plough for a drink and enjoy!

I had padthai but there was a hair (look like a dog hair ) on my dish and we return it I could not eat them but the pub only give me 10% discount on those dish and I am not happy about it, not everyone like dog even they cook me a new one but it push me off already also the pub not clean at all there also a dog hair in my glass and it was a big mistake to go there, will never ever go there again. My son have chicken with garlic and he only got 5 small dry pieces ( smaller than half chicken nuggets) of chicken and those dish was £12 so the food not very nice taste below average, serve slow, expensive and not very clean

I am so pleased that the Sunday Roasts returned. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection and the service received was above and beyond. The chef who was cooking the roast mentioned he was running the kitchen with an American Diner menu, I promised to visit and today I am so glad I did. This family run pub never fails to impress me! Amazing value, amazing service and such lovely people.

I visited the Plough on Sunday with my husband and two kids, I opted for the roast lamb, my partner had roast beef and my kids both had a kids portion roast chicken, everything was so tasty, the honey roast veg is to die for and my kids ate everything ( which is a bonus as they are very hard to please ) Also extra ratings for a Yorkshire pudding to come with every roast. The crumble was 10/10. What a lovely pub. Will definitely be returning

We were looking forward to a Sunday lunch especially as they advertised Lamb Shank which is my favourite. We booked for 2 o clock. The menu just had roast lamb so I ordered that. Although we had booked for 2 we weren’t served our meal until 2.55. We weren’t asked if we wanted condiments or any mince sauce. The lamb was chewy and I don’t know how but the roast potatoes were chewy as well. We were so hungry we just ate and left. So disappointed as we had heard good things about the food here.

Visited the Plough a couple of days ago with friends. The menu offers choice and value. The food was excellent, as was the choice of drinks. If I had one comment it would be about the table side manner of a staff member - rather abrupt, not what you expect when you area paying customer. Definitely worth trying out as this pub isn’t on the major routes of the area

Excellent Thai Food. Before we moved to Horsell, we had a local pub that served Thai food which we have really missed, The Plough definitely fills the spot! We shared the starter platter, which wasn't deep fried frozen food, but had clearly been made from scratch on the premises. We followed this with Red Thai Curry which was well seasoned and the best we have eaten outside of Thailand Brilliant addition to the range of food options in Horsell, we will definitely be returning

Still re-building its client base after the awful fire this quiet country pub is an oasis in otherwise busy Woking. There could be a more enthusiastic greeting as you enter the pub as food is up there with the best of ‘pub grub’ and the atmosphere can only be enhanced as more people get to know the venue.

Several years ago this pub had an excellent reputation. sadly a fire gutted the building. Since being re-opened I was keen to see if the reputation was retained. We went for an early Sunday lunch and was surprised to see the pub almost empty for the roast lunch. Service a little slow given the empty tables. Food was OK, the Yorkshires not really very appetising. The cauliflower cheese side dish was, however, excellent: would thoroughly recommend it. Would I go there again: not sure.

Went with family today. We arrived at 12 noon, which is early but we had a family event to attend. We thought, since it's recently reopened it'd be a bit special, but no. We looked at the menu, which is expensive and quite limited, especially for veggies and coeliacs and just weren't inspired at all. The pub was cold, empty (like I say it was early in the day) and had no atmosphere. It just didn't feel like somewhere we wanted to eat. (The lady behind the bar was friendly though and offered to put the heating on). So we went to the Red Lion on the High Street which was as opposite as you could ever imagine, warm, cosy, great menu, loads of atmosphere, full car park. Plough owner / manager - for the sake of your business, go to the Red Lion and nick some ideas!

Small pub near Horsell common, ideal for walkers, cyclists and dog friendly. Perhaps I was there on the wrong night but no food being served (7.30pm), beer (Doom bar) had to be swapped for Guinness as it was not in good condition and no other ales were available, both members of staff spent evening at corner of the bar paying more attention to their phones than the few customers present. I hope this is not normal for this pub,as it could be a great little place.

Eso no quiere decir que no comas aquí, porque la comida es deliciosa y casera. I have been using this pub for a Friday lunchtime pint and a meal for some time. The landlady is very outgoing and friendly and has a great sense of humour. The standard menu is not huge but diverse enough to cater for most people. The specials board supplements the menu with some very tasty dishes. The standard of the food is excellent and the chef is clearly a 'chef' rather than someone who heat up food (as we see so many times in the large pub/resto chains these days). If you are lucky enough to be in when the steak and kidney pie is on the specials board, you'll be in for a real treat. Huge chunky pieces encrusted in a fabulous shortcrust pastry! There is a small, enclosed garden to the rear with benches, chairs and a couple of gazebo's, which is handy for the odd occasion when we get to see the sun.The pub is dog and walker-friendly and set in a handy area for short woodland walks.

Charlotte A is completely wrong when she says the Plough is not child-friendly. I was one of the locals whom she says made her feel uncomfortable on her visit yesterday lunchtime. The fact was, her family were making ME feel uncomfortable. The older child was incredibly badly-behaved, antagonising the younger one until he shrieked - ear-piercingly! There appeared to be no parental control whatever; no-one at their table seemed to think that there was anything wrong with the children's behaviour - which was unruly at best. There were several other small children with their families in the Plough yesterday lunchtime , and they were well-mannered and well-behaved, not running riot around the pub, disturbing all the other diners. A family at the table next to Charlotte's, who would normally have stayed for an after-lunch drink with me and my family, paid their bill and left immediately after eating, citing the fact that they could not stand the racket (Charlotte's own words as well) coming from Charlotte's table. Apparently, several other people complained about the noise and bad behaviour. My son and I eat at the Plough at least once a week, often on Sunday lunchtimes. We do so because the pub is friendly, the staff are lovely, the service is good and the atmosphere is convivial - and families who eat there with young children understand that other customers do not want to be subjected to their children's tantrums. I can honestly say that I have never witnessed such atrocious and inconsiderate behaviour from any family who have dined there. Charlotte should, perhaps, consider some classes in dining-out etiquette - for herself and her children.

We met 2 friends here as a half way point with our 2 kids (5&2). I will admit they were making a bit of a racket (not constantly) and by the end were running around inside a bit but I have to say we were made to feel very uncomfortable by the staff and regulars due to this. It's a very local pub, and is not massive inside so I appreciate tight spaces & kids don't mix well, (there is an outside garden area with lots of broken toys) but it was too cold to be outside for lunch - just didn't feel very welcome with a normal young family. The food was great and the ale good too, just not the place for families with small children.

Unfortunately this isn't somewhere I come to regularly but if I was local I think I would come here all the time, the food was both traditional and modern (They serve basket meals that are common in many pubs but here I had Salt and Pepper Squid) they also had a children's menu which had all of the kids favourites on and plenty of different drinks etc... really everything you could want in a pub. The service was slightly chaotic due to their only being one lady serving and it running as a hybrid pub/full service restaurant which kept her very busy indeed, but I think this kind of chaos really adds to the charm in this kind of place so I wouldn't want it any other way.

Really friendly pub with a proper pub feel rather than being all "gastro". That said, the food could be improved as it's little too basic and doesn't taste like it's great quality. Verdict: great for a post walk drink but perhaps skip lunch.

Saw this pub in passing a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd give it a try. Fancied a sunday lunch and then remembered it was Mother's Day so rang to see if they could fit 2 of us in at short notice......and they could. Very friendly greeting from all staff when we arrived and we were quickly shown to our table. Service was quick and efficient and the Roast Beef was as close to homemade as I've had in a pub. Overall a very pleasant experience and I look forward to returning soon. PS. The Doom Bar was spot on as well.

Found this pub with family who were visiting us, as they had their dogs with them. Very friendly staff who welcomed us all in and even gave the dogs some treats. Really good atmosphere. Food was freshly made and amazing! Burgers are massive and the best I'v had in Woking! Seriously good meat! All round great pub, with or without dogs this place is very nice and well worth a visit.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch for 2pm (as requested when we booked).Got there and were shown to reserved table and told someone would come and take drinks order. waited approx 10 mins before our drinks order was taken. waited another 10 - 15 mins for drinks to arrive. At this time we said we would place our food orders (hungry by now!). 3 of us wanted the roast beef but waitress said she thought it might have sold out & she went to find out. Didn't come back for ages but then said that there were 3 left so we said yes, we'll have them. Thought we'd get served quickly but no. We were finally served at 3.40pm. apologies were made at various points but we were not impressed by the service at all. The food was quite good.

This pub has a great, relaxed atmosphere. Emma, who served us, was great. Friendly, chatty - just the kind of person you want to be greeted by.We ate the open chicken pie and the bbq chicken burger. Really good standard pub grub. The dessert was good but nothing to write home about. Go to this for a great pub with good atmosphere, a lovely dog, good food and a game of cards.

Went for dinner, during a busy night for the pub.Warm and welcoming, with Emma doing a great job of persuading us to have two bottles of Rioja..!The pub was busy with a reunion, but the food was served quickly and politely, with a little bit of chat back and forth which was very funny.Food of excellent quality, especially the burgers and upside down chicken pie. Risotto was also excellent.Overall an authentic and pleasant experience, with a promise to return as soon as possible, albeit we live in the north!Helpful and friendly. Well done!

Going downhill….been coming here for years but this visit was the last nail in the coffin! Smaller sausage, smaller rasher of bacon, smaller egg, rock hard slice of cold fried bread probably left over from yesterday. Then when we wanted yo pay, frantically waving and being ignored, headed to till and stood around for 10 minutes despite there being someone behind the counter who completely ignored us… apalling post meal service. Looked like there was less staff in there too….
