The Pizza Base in Carlisle

Order through the website, order received incomplete, problem with customer service not understanding that the order was not completed as ordered. Not possible to pay by card od the counter

We ordered our usual kebabs ,which are normally top drawer. Unfortunately our chicken kebab was so far over cooked we couldn't even cut it. Very disappointed as we normally enjoy it but couldn't even eat it

I like this from the chicken the margarita pizza chicken wrap and chicken kebab and milkshake strawberry and banana and I like the toffee pudding and chocolate pudding they’re my favourite I will order that and a good salad and a big bottle of Coke thank you it’s a lovely eating they deliver it

Very dry chicken and donar kabobs was disgusting and garlic pizza very greasy and not cooked. We very hungry after 2 hours driving we pick up the pizza base but we had bad food 😒

They make some very good meal. My favourite is southern chicken and chips. Sometimes salad and I like a margarita pizza 17 inch I have other meals too early now. All good for me out here at five star. What more can I say I enjoyed SERVICE is good and delivery is good. Nothing to complain about good service no pictures

Pizza kebab had minimal to no kebab meat on. Infact it looked like small chunks of pek pork rather then kebab meat. Kebab meat pizza looked like dog food on a tray . But looked more tasteful! The staff of the ladies behind the phone here just WOW! Rubbish customer service. Vile human beings. Yuk! Just like your food 🤢🤮 and the coca cola was actually coca cola orijinal tat (Turkish coca )...

Didn't get the option to choose sauces on a meal deal. Rang to tell them they'd missed 2 dips and the lady on the phone was rude and very blunt. Poor customer service wouldn't recommend. Won't be ordering from them again.

Moved to carlisle a few weeks back and live near pizza base so I've used pizza base a few times now and the foods always been good 👍

As a regular customer of Pizza Base, I can say without doubt that every pizza I have ordered has been top notch quality from the freshness of the dough to the succulent taste of the toppings. However, today has probably been the worst and most bizzare pizza I have ever ordered from Pizza Base... additional toppings i ordered were scarce as one of them was extra cheese but I somehow ended up getting less than usual.... ...As shown in the images, you can see that two thin base dough layers were stuck on together to form the pizza which obviously indicates that the dough was not original, you could also tell by the texture of the dough itself when chewing it, some may refute this and say, "well what difference can it possibly make?".... the first and foremost difference is the texture itself which is affected when you stick two dough base layers together which doesn't cause the dough to rise properly when cooked in the pizza oven and it also causes the dough to not be 100% cooked all the way through as parts of the dough were still slightly raw in my case... Why would a pizza shop do this? My only guess is that the 16 inch normal dough base layer does not sell as well which means they cut a corner and stuck two thin base layers to form a normal dough base layer... but only Pizza Base can confirm that themselves.... highly disappointing.

Every time we come here the toilet is out of order , 2 years now , they just can't be bothered cleaning it

Ordered a pizza, over an hour passed so called up. Was told my food had been left on the doorstep outside and there was nothing they could do about the freezing cold food I'd paid money for. No refund, no replacement. Absolutely disgraceful service and would highly recommended going somewhere else if you like your food hot or even warm at least 😠😠😠

They dont sell pizza's its bread with a bit cheese and tomato sauce and thats a meat feast ordered last night shocking it was a 9 inch meal deal deal 3 9 inches £21 go down the road to pizza time £17 same deal and there 10 inch miles better honestly never again i had 3 bits of pepperoni on 5 slices

Ordered a bbq wrap with, I thought a portion of chips. I did not know and it doesn't say the chips are in the wrap. Why?? Chicken was dry, bbq sauce must be cheap, all I could taste was vinegar. Won't be ordering again.

Ordered pizza on Foodhub two hours later no pizza called pizza base who advised the driver confirmed he had delivered the pizza and the driver has no reason to lie advised we have a ring doorbell and no food has been delivered or attempted. Lady on phone attitude stunk called us liars and fobbed off onto Foodhub. Lady then hung up. AVOID!

Regularly order from here and always get chorizo jalapeño and onion pizza. Ordered tonight and it was disgusting, it’s either the cheese or the chorizo they have changed. wont be ordering again

Pizza is sickly. Too much cheese, base is underbaked so it’s soft and stodgy. Don’t waste money on a takeaway here because it will just make you feel worse.

Appalling service, a joke of portion size soggy burger rolls ….. chips almost still frozen !!! They could not be a less interested when you ring to say things are missing !! If I could leave a - 100 score I would . I never normally leave a review but felt extremely disgusted we may as well thrown the money straight in the bin !!!!

Ordered via Just Eat but didn't deliver the onion rings. Doesn't seem like much to complain about but their excuse was closing by the time they could fulfill the order. Very poor.

Ment to leave a review after my first pizza base delivery under new management but never got round to it, so was a must this delivery. Fresh salad produce, plenty of proper chicken, healthy wrap beautiful condiments and mushroom, cheese garlic bread very moreish. Counter/delivery personel 10/10. Keep up the excellent service

Ordered a pizza to settle down with on a lovely Sunday evening only to find pieces of metal in my pizza slices. Manager had no explanation but refunded me, I have taken pictures to post on social media, but please beware even though this is the first time it has happened, When I went round the place was a complete mess in the background of the establishment when I spoke to the Manage and got me thinking how terrible to conditions are, it is not surprising this happened to be honest! I will no longer be ordering from them again.

I was ordering a burger at piza base until I realised they where going to charge me an extra 60p for fried onions on my burger, so I cancelled my order and went elsewhere that didn’t rob its customers. No one should be buying from any takeaway establishment that charge you extra for fried onions on their burger and if they are going to charge you extra for more than one sauce on your kebab do the same go elsewhere. Ask yourself a question, “ would you be happy to pay extra for salt and vinegar on your fish and chips at the chippy?” These clowns will continue to rob their customers with added on extra payments for what should be included in the price for as long as their customers are willing to pay for them… JUST DO THE SENSIBLE THING AND SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED CASH ELSEWHERE .

Ordered a takeaway from here told them I was isolating and offered to pay over the phone gave my number to them as usual the woman said to still pay the driver when he arrived .thy told me the driver would ring to sort out delivery and payment. Waited 1 hour and nothing turned up ,so I tang again to be told it had left and shouldn't be long .after another half hour I rang again and was told it was not sent because I was isolating thy needed to be payed up front.I told the woman that I had offered to pay at time of ordering and she made no comment to that I said why didn't you ring me ,and thy said my phone didn't work ,but it did when I rang it . I have been a loyal customer of 20 years to them and this how thy treat you in your hour of need . We really fancyed at takeaway to cheer ourselves up

They dont have any sense of making a pizza. Tomato sauce is spread all over. Toppings were thrown over the pizza. It was neither stuff crusted nor thin crusted. They over charged me. Said, it will be £8.50 including delivery but charged me £2 for delivery. The driver couldn't speak English at all when I argued him about price. I'm been truthful overall, it's a really bad experience 👎👎👎

This company needs to get some staff on the telephone that sounds interested in their job. They sound very bored and disinterested. I would not order anything from someone who gives the impression that customers are a bore. The owners should get someone incognito to ring up their shop and see how they are treated. They may be in for a surprise.!!

Kindly asked them to leave food at doorstep and not ring the bell or knock as my partner and 2 year old were asleep. Driver was then heard shouting down the phone to the shop asking why there was nobody at the door. He then hammered on the door waking everyone up. Complete lack of communication and not for the first time!

Undercooked food and items missing. Called and spoke to the owner who was rude. Items that were missing were finally delivered but left on street outside my house. Very unprofessional staff and after speaking with the owner can see why, as he didn’t care about hearing complaints. He just INSISTED they had done nothing wrong. Got money back from just Eat.

Requested an order that I have had for many years and was told that order had never been done before. Paid via card and didn't recieve confirmation of payment before they hung up, so I called back to get verification. Asked for a read back of my order as I was worried that it would be incorrect. When my order came to my door, it was incorrect and the driver was unaware that I had already paid for it. If it was possible to give less than 1 star, I would. Lost my custom.

Used to be the best place in town been a costumer more than two years order 1-2 minimum a week if not more, and don’t usually complain cus I’m quite picky I thought imma be wrong but! Last 3-4 times I’ve binned half of my pizza because of different reasons once I had half of the pizza just to realise under it the pizza box it’s all dry damp mixed with pizza oil put me right off, messaged the owner he sent me a new one without even asking which I appreciate but that kept happening, and the pizza being doughy it’s a problem needs solving, it seems they don’t care! I wasn’t gon comment either but there’s loads of complaints which means the place needs to get together again:) at the end in my opinion management needs to care more for the staffs and what they need in the place in order for them to get things done right and make less mistakes, sort your phones staff can’t hear properly almost every time and computers too ppl had enough of keep giving address and phone numbers over and over again, if you keep losing your loyal costumers because of little annoying things that keep repeating I assure you your new costumers won’t overlook order mistakes like loyal ones do. Hope u take it how it’s said cus I mean good😊

The owner Gokcan is an amazing person. Excellent human being, service is the best, deliveries are on time and above all the food is always delicious. We would recommend them highly :)

Great kebab. Lovely and fresh. A do it yourself kebab. Lots of Donna meat in a pizza bread with separate sauses and salad. A steal for 4.40. The place is spotley clean which is a good sign. Thanks again.

Tried to place a order for food the person who answered the phone was very rude would not order anything from them again

Absolute joke of a place, waited 1 hour 20 minutes for an order I had paid for and when I rang the place up to see where it was, the order hadn't even been seen to so if I hadnt have phoned I'd have been robbed of £40. They confirmed the address and order on their cumputer and said it hadn't been processed (ignored) and said it would be another 45 minutes with no discount or anything applied for them messing about. Manager would happily spend 10 minutes arguing with their colleague while I'm on the phone than speak to me myself, sounds like they can't handle a customer.

Fantastic service!!! I placed an order for a mix of 50 pizzas and wraps, all came on the time stated and were all fresh and tasted lovely. Would 100% recommend as the service was prompt and very well organised.

New favourite i reckon. Really good pizza, chilli sauce was awesome. Arrived very quickly.

Wouldn’t let me leave the review with 0 starts, so I’ve had to give it 1 star. Order from here if you want Items missing from orders. Then when you get it delivered, same items missing again and again. when you phone to complain, you get fobbed off, kitchen staff getting the blame. Just not good enough. Lost our custom.

First of all I waited over 1 hour for a small tray of donner meat and a bottle of wine ( not a complicated order) so decided to phone up and make a complaint as my younger sister who had fallen asleep hungry waiting for the food to come second of all once I managed to get through to the takeaway it’s self a lady answered with a very ill mannered tone and spoke to me with the upmost disrespect I’ve ever seen I asked why it had taken so long to arrive and she replied that we don’t send orders unless another order comes in around that area so I then replied what if another order didn’t come in around my area would I still be waiting now and shockingly she replied YES! I was appalled by this and her attitude so I told her she had bad customer service skills I then asked to speak to her manager ( very unpleasant gentleman) if that’s what you want to call him! I then asked him the same question would I still be waiting now if another order hadnt came through to my area he also replied yes..still in a bit of shock I said that’s really bad customer service I work in hospitality myself and the level of ignorance was disgusting... also while the lady thought she had placed me on hold (she never) I heard her tell point blank lies about me to her so called “ manager “ she said that I had said she had a stinking attitude ( I didn’t ) and that I complained about the donner meat ( I never ) although the donner meat was stone cold! I didn’t get the chance to say this on the phone as I was so upset and angry about the customer service I had just received I asked the manager what he intended on doing about his colleagues attitude and he said nothing and I asked for her name to leave a review he refused me that (fair enough) I then asked for his name which he then again refused to give me so I then asked again so what is going to be done about the outstandingly appalling delivery, food and customer service he then replied I will sort it and that’s it... I told him I’m going to leave a review about the experience and he then told me to “ do what you have to do I do not care I am busy” so me still in absolute shock replied I will be leaving you a terrible review about this and he then repeated himself in saying do what you have to do I’m busy now goodbye . I am very very disappointed , dissatisfied and in shock as I usually use this place all the time but now can safely say I will NEVER be ordering from ever again.... strongly advise you avoid this place and spend a little extra for better quality and service... pretty sure the lady (girl) I spoke to was underage too! Calzone at @thebasecarlisle was OK. Very generous in size despite it only being a 9 inch. Cheap too. Not as nice as the standard pizza I had last time. However, please, please, don't play music so loud as if you were at home. My ears are still ringing 10 hours later!

Asked for extra topping only for them to put is separate uncooked in a pot when it arrived at my house. I rang and they told me to put it on my pizza grate some cheese and put it in the oven get on with my night. Charming

Ordered a pizza meal deal and got ebola for free! As a bonus my missus got it too! It should come with several toilet rolls rather than chips.. On the plus side I've lost that half stone I wanted to (although I've lost a couple of days of work too and my entire weekend). Has been fine in the past I have to say, although I'll never order again from there - we know it was the pizza as nobody else ate it.

Very hitty missy. The food can be really good but it can also be very disappointing. It seems to depend on who's working. The vegan pizza is usually nice but they persistently put a garlic mayo dip in the box, which obviously isn't vegan, even if you specify no dip, which will definitely upset some people and is a total waste.
