Turned up for a gig, came all the way from the Isle Of Wight with my partner and found out the landlord had double booked the venue, was never offered any compensation. Won't be frequenting this venue again as the landlord seems to change plans according to his friends

The vegan meal we had at The Pipeline was amazing! I had the Joan Jett burger and my partner had the Janice Joplin kebab wrap. We also had 'cheesy' fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings. Everything was cooked to perfection. The onion rings were the best we have ever had! I highly recommended eating here whether you are a vegan or not! Pub food at its best, whether you are vegan, vegetarian like me or a meat eater like my partner - you will love this vegan menu!

Very chilled place with good food, good service, and a good background of music playing (any selection that spans from mid-80s The Replacements to mid-90s i found. This place had a good vibe and the bar is big enough we never had to wait long to be served. When I looked at the beer selection I was surprised and pleased -- beer I really enjoyed and others I had not tried!   I am a self admitted beer snob, If i dont like the taste of something, I wont drink it.   The food is delicious, My pals and I were more than happy with what we got,  great spot to meet with friends, unlike when it was in London you cannot play some pool, Slam some pinball, only grab a bite to eat before heading out for the night, Or like us, Just chill out after work,  When i move back to Brighton with work ill be paying this place more visits..  And hopefully beating the highscores

Originally booked just for food, the completely vegan menu with music themed names sold it to us. We had the Stevie Nicks and Janis Joplin, they were both vegan chicken themed items. These were freshly cooked and tasted amazing, good portion sizes so we weren't hungry afterwards. Chips were amazing also! But then the service staff were incredible, due to COVID they had to take orders from the table, but they were eagle eyed and didn't leave you waiting. They weren't pushy either, just polite and happy to grab you a drink. Spent the whole night there, the music was solid and even live bands were streaming upstairs so it was an amazing sense of normality. If in Brighton give it ago!

Came here for a Punk night as a colleague of mine is the lead singer of a band called Idle Bones. I asked my partner if she'd like to come and she agreed. We had a pre-drink to prepare and made our way there. We had just made it in time to see a band called Credentials, They wore balaclavas and jumped around like madmen. I very much enjoyed them especially a song they played called "Mustard". After their moshy set we all headed downstairs for a cigarette and a beer. Everyone was in high spirits and the credential team all took off their balaclavas and tried to cool down from their fiery set. Next up was the headliners.. Idle Bones! I needed a good spot and made it back a bit later so was at the back but managed to jump on a chair to get a good view. They played a great set with some of my favourites being "Eleven" and "Nothing important happened today". Brett Zero threw some T-shirts out mid-set but I missed out on those. They had a good long set and jumped into the mosh pit at the end. After the set, I went down for a cigarette and watched all the punks talking about previous gigs and how good it had been this evening. I chatted with some people and waited for Brett to come down. One of my colleagues told me the toilets were the worst he's ever been to so I journeyed their myself and they weren't too bad I think he just wasn't used to pub toilets. The Idles Bones team came down and got a picture with the other bands that played. All in all, good night will be back for some more punky gigs.

Headed down to The Pipeline in Brighton to see a friends band play. It’s a bar, come vegan restaurant, with more smallish rooms upstairs where the bands play. All a bit snug, as many of the venues in the Laines are, but this was downright tight. Took a while to get served but good local beers on offer. Some vege and vegan food and you can sit outside and watch the while go by, but in this evening there was a smell of drains so we went for a meal elsewhere. (Sorry). Friendly and quirky place though and right by the Laines NCP car park so an easy one to visit. The bands were good.

I recently came as my friend was doing a gig the barman on shift was incredible polite and well mannered he was on a trail shift however his manger was one of the rudest bar staff I have ever met. The way he spoke to his staff was poor the way he spoke to his customers was even worse. the staff knocked a full pint of beer over on me not ideal but he apologized and said that he would get his manager. not wanting to make a big deal or have the chap in trouble I did say that i wasn't that upset (just assumed as he knocked it over he would be replacing it as it was a full pint) I was put on the spot and basically told if its his fault i will let me go now as he is saying differently do i need to check the CCTV? at this point i decided to leave and i will not come back again not whilst this manger is employed

I stopped in to the The Pipeline during my London Pub Trek by accident. The pub I was looking for was closed so I had some time to kill. I walked by this place a couple of time because it wasn't what I was expecting in a British pub. I went in and I was glad I did. The pub looked great and they had Pinball. By now I was quite a few pints into the day and I really needed a game of darts or pinball to take me away from drinking. I ended up staying at The Pipeline for an extra hour and had a couple of extra pints because I was having so much fun on the pinball machines. Great place!

There being no way to add a comment to my earlier review, I have no choice but to leave another as I cannot let that dismissive, insulting and untrue response stand. Just to clarify: we did not ask for a discount, the prices were average for that part of London and we had no problem with them. We were flatly told we could not have the jukebox on. The event is crystal clear in my mind because it was an embarrassment to me that I picked this bar and we had to go somewhere else with no warning. At best, your memory is faulty or you just misunderstood. At worst, it is a blatant lie, a nice, plausible reason which shifts the blame and avoids the embarrassment of a supposedly 'rock' bar not wanting to play rock music in favour of trying cash in on the Olympics.

I've only been here for drinks once but I definitely have plans to come back. Great range of beers including Asahi which is one of my favourite, and at £4 a pint in the middle of the city it's hard to go wrong. Entertainment in the bar was excellent. There never are enough places to play pinball all night so being offered the choice of 7 was something I'd never think I'd be able to have. The owner is also on hand to sort any table issues, in this case the ball did get completely stuck once but it was fixed in less than a minute. Will be visiting twice next week and will also be checking out the food as well. The last time I was there was only a few days off the Peko Peko kitchen being open, so I am really looking forward to trying it.

We were planning for a birthday party for almost 40people for a bank holiday weekend at the Pipeline bar. Knowing this, we booked a mth in advance. 2 days before the event, they emailed me that they needed to do some reflooring! When I complained to them that their poor management was unacceptable and that they were cowards for not calling me directly, they had the audacity to reply that they'd only just found out and that they didn't have my phone number! I arranged a stag night (well, all-dayer) last year. It was while the Olympics were on, so summer 2012. We had planned to get there in the afternoon and pretty much stay there till last knockings. I picked this because not everyone in the party were rockers but the groom and many of the stags were, including me. Didn't want anything too dingy because wanted to cater for everyone. All of us were at least in our 30's and most of us older, so none of us are drunken louts and are relatively well behaved. My main problem with this place is the owner. We got there about 3 o'clock on a Saturday and there couldn't have been more than about 6 people in there and most of them looked like tourists who would have had a drink or two then left. You'd have thought that a party of about 20 would have been welcomed and they would have tried to keep us in there but you'd be wrong. They had the olympics on the big screens, along with the sound and had the juke box off. We're in a rock bar and we want to hear rock music and there's already zero atmosphere. I ask the barman politely if we can have the juke box on but he says he can't do that. I ask what I assume is the manager if we can have the juke box on, perhaps leaving the olympics on the big screen. He says no, as it 'would spoil it' (meaning the viewing of the olympics). Already, I don't like his attitude so I pull out the whip-round which is a good few hundred pounds in cash and say; "that's a shame, as we've got all this money to spend". All he has to say to this is "good luck" in a dismissive manner. I had nothing more to say at this point. I told the guys about this exchange and the general consensus was that we finish our drink and leave, which we did. We left him with the 3-4 customers that were left.I think that says everything you need to know about the management here. I doubt this place will be open much longer.

Walking passed we were unsure what to expect from a pink sign. We walked in and first 3 things to hit you are the noise, the smell and the space. Nice open plan bar with pool tables and dartboard. Music however was too loud for not being overly busy. The smell of B O is common these days so you get used to it. They had deals and a double vodka coke was 6.40 which is ok for London. Nice bar but too noisy, would go back though.

If you need a place for drinks and pool then The Pipeline is great. But after ordering a couple of platters we were disappointed with the money to food ratio. A couple of chicken skewers, 2 mini pork ribs and a mini burger using white bread as a bun isn't worth £4 a platter. On the plus side the chips were great. Also the meatball dish wasn't good too, a bit uninteresting for the price.Staff, service and atmosphere are great though for sure.

I've been going to The Pipeline since it opened when I was still living in London. My mother had her apartment around the corner and I watched it being fitted out from the start. Since moving abroad, I make a point of going to The Pipeline every time I am back in London. It has a great selection of beers and whiskeys, two pool tables, a great jukebox and a bunch of pinball machines in one corner that are always very popular with the customers.Add to that comfy sofas, great bar staff and a very nice owner who loves his music and you've got a great combination. My fiancee and I are getting married in Scotland in July 2012 and we are going to have our London reception at The Pipeline! That's how much we like it...
