Had a nice meal for 2 here. Decor and building is lovely, service was efficient and meals came out quickly. A decent choice on the menu, not insanely expensive depending on what you chose. Chocolate brownie dessert was delicious.

First visit to this restaurant within Caley Hall Hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday. Greeted by a friendly member of the restaurant staff. The dining room was spacious and very nicely decorated. Enough choice of what to eat. Had all 3 courses - very nicely presented and well cooked. Nice atmosphere within all the hotel. Well worth a visit.

We used this venue at least once a month for Sunday lunch, our last visit on the 4/3/18 was a disaster, The dining room was freezing cold as was the outside temperature, our table was next to a cold radiator. I did tell the waitress how cold we were and she replied " I'll change places with you as I'm boiling hot from running in and out of the kitchen" when the food arrived the plates where cold along with the food on it ! At least the cauliflower cheese was hot. This was supposed to be a meal to celebrate my wife's 74th birthday. Our guests ( wife's sister ) have just moved here

We (a group of pensioners) had a Christmas lunch at Caley hall and were very impressed by the quality (and quantity) of the food, the delightfully helpful service and the atmosphere that this created. We will return and will probably stay next time

Had a good meal here a couple of weeks ago. Interesting and varied menu. Portions maybe on the small size and on the high price. Restaurant very quiet for a Saturday evening but enjoyable. Stall seemed quite inexperienced but pleasant

Drawn to place because it was dog friendly. First impressions of the bar area were good although we were the sole people there initially. Partner ordered ham & eggs and I plumped for the mushroom risotto. Quite a long wait for the food but assumed this was a good sign. Not so! The risotto may have had one mushroom somewhere in it I suppose. It looked unappealing with the texture more like a rice pudding. In fact it almost tasted as if a bit of cheese had been stirred into an old rice pud! Partners ham & eggs was fine apparently. Suggest the chef pays a trip to The Moorings in Blakeney for a lesson on what a risotto should look & taste like.

We had a lovely meal here on a Saturday night. The food was good. I had the Haddock and can recommended it and my wife had the burger. The staff were very nice but the service could have been more attentive, small issue not a major problem. Would have no problem recommending this.

We visited Old Hunstanton for a weekend recently and stayed at the hotel, the food was outstanding and made my think that the Michelin effect was responsible when we discovered a Michelin Star restaurant nearby........I am not sure whether this is true but the food was of the highest quality. Strongly recommended......

The restaurant is part of the Caley Hall Hotel and is open to non-residents. We ate at the restaurant when staying at the Hotel and we impressed by the range on the menu and the speed of service.

Visited as a party of 12 for a birthday celebration. Great food, several people commented on how good the vegetables were. One person thought the lamb was poor though. Good service except for one grumpy waitress out of three. Overall excellent but the bar would benefit from a wider beer and spirits selection. Worth a visit if in the area.

There is a good varied menu. The breast of duck was cooked to perfection. Puddings are not my thing but my travelling companion assures me they were very good.

I would recommend an evening meal in this restaurant - a varied and interesting menu, good sized portions too. The food was well cooked and presented. The staff were polite and efficient. The dining room is tastefully decorated and the lighting is just right. The selection available at breakfast is good - just one point though - I found the (hot) buffet was only lukewarm so could have done with being hotter. However when the breakfast is cooked to order it is both hot and plentiful and well worth waiting a few minutes for. Personally I do prefer my food cooked to order as I like my food hot. The service was good and its nice to only wait a few minutes before being served with your tea or coffee.

We hadn't been to Caley Hall for some time and our last visit was not inspiring however we decided to try again. My elderly mother and I went for Sunday lunch. It was very nice...the service was decent however for my Sunday lunch I would chose other places in the area.Pleasant dining room and pleasant outside seating.Sorry Caley.....bring back the Sunday Carvery...we are not the only ones to say this.Whilst my ratings may appear a little harsh there is a lot of competition in the area and I feel Caley Hall could improve.Atmosphere? Maybe some background music?

The standard of catering was of a satisfactory level, and the ambience of the restaurant was pleasing, particularly following a long, road journey. We liked the attention of the staff, who have clearly been well trained, and they were keen to ensure that all was well and that the chef should know how we felt about his cooking.

We visited here for Sunday lunch with a party of 13 family members. The whole experience was very good, lovely, friendly welcoming staff, good atmosphere and most importantly great food. The only small problem with my roast beef and Yorkshire pudding was that the yorkshires were very dry and a bit like 'Aunt Bessie' would make, but being a yorkshire women I am always very critical of this dish.

The chef offers a large menu and gives a lot of attention to the presentation. The dining room is cosy and can accommodate many guests while still allowing for a quiet conversation.

We were staying nearby so visited the restaurant. The main courses were really good, I had fish and my husband had the pork and we also enjoyed a good bottle of red wine. I could not fault the restaurant until my cheese board arrived. I don't know if there is some sort of shortage at the moment of cheese but I could not believe my eyes when I saw the pathetic offerings. There were 3 cheeses but they were wafer thin which to me was an insult especially as they charged £8.00 for it. I was also surprised that they could not offer me much of a choice of cheeses. I would have loved a piece of stilton with a port. I came away very disappointed.

I regularly used to Visit Caley Hall, mainly for the Sunday Carvery lunch. Sadly, they do not do this any more and I am not the first to say so. it used to be packed.Caley has a fantastic setting in Old Hunstanton. It is a very comfortable place and I really like the decor.I visited recently on a Sunday for tea. We were about the only ones there.Choice of scone or muffin.....4 types of muffin. Come on Caley.....you can do better. More choice. And how about lighting the fire on a brisk winters Sunday?More advertising perhaps? I am a local and there is the Hunstanton Newsletter, the Heacham Newsletter and the new freebie paper. I didn't see your McMillan coffee morning in any of them.....and what about a local band....or quiz night. You can do better. Despite my disappointment, I will return.

Our group attended Caley Hall for the umpteenth time for our annual pre-Christmas Lunch. Regrettably the standard has fallen over the years. Even the simplest pre-lunch soft drinks were over priced and, when seated, we were crammed into such a small area that waitresses deserved medals for being able to serve us. The food was of average standard.

Our Anniversary, so booked Caley Hall for our evening out. This being the fourth or more visit and have always been impressed; but Saturday evening seemed to be spoilt by lack of attention e.g I ordered my wife a schooner of sherry, it was served in a whiskey tumbler?? we were expected to use a knife and fork to eat our starter of Crayfish Cocktail served in a very "unstable" dish, the main meal was served with the most miniscule amount of "jus" or gravy. I ordered a single glass of white wine...the waiter eventually tried to deliver 2. Only my wife ordered a dessert so we decided to have our coffee with the dessert. The coffee was drunk a long time before the dessert finally appeared and even then there was a query as to how many desserts we had ordered. The food on the whole was good but we've had better at Caley Hall, perhaps a bad night because of the rain?

We had dinner here on Tuesday evening; we ate in the bar as we had our dogs with us. The food was very good, I had ham hock croquettes followed by tagliatelle and bloke had a burger. Everything was cooked really well and was tasty. For pudding I had panacotta with peaches and fudge which was fab, and bloke had lovely local cheese. It was very quiet in the bar, for most of the time there was only one other couple in there and the majority of the residents were eating in the restaurant but we can definitely recommend the food, and the service was good too.

Visited here for a light lunch taken in the bar area. It very much as the feel of a club house. The furnishings etc were just not right & this added to the lack of, if any, ambience. The good however was excellent and superbly presented. We did have to wait quite a while though. Caley Hall is a well presented hotel, lovely gardens. A great shame our lunch didn't live up to expectations.

I agree with previous review this restaurant has no ambience or atmosphere and I agree is lit like a bright cafeteria. Dimmed lighting and candles on tables would create a more intimate setting. Two young waitresses one was very quiet but pleasant, the other had an unpleasant attitude. Food was very lacking. We had cheese afterwards which was fridge cold-we asked for butter and 2 wrapped pats of butter arrived in the waitress’ hand not in a dish. Wine served in a very water stained glass-clearly no steaming and polishing of glasses here. Told waitress we were not happy she said she would tell her manager, we then went to our room. Breakfast was included in our room rate but we couldn’t face it the next morning, so went elsewhere. On check out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay-says it all. Lack of management and poor staff training.

I reckon I have eaten at least one portion of moules marinere once a year, for the last 30 years… and yet, tonight’s was the best. My wife who is also a regular eater of mussels agreed with me (which is rare). The sauce was really creamy but the garlic and herb can through, served with fantastic fries and a superb bread.
