The Pickled Fig Deli & Artisan Bakery in East Riding of Yorkshire

This is my favourite place for lunch in the whole of East Riding/Hull. The sandwiches are absolutely amazing and you can really have anything you want. So much care clearly goes into the food you get and there’s so many options. I have ordered online and been in store and the quality is no different. The gentleman who runs the bakery is so kind and helpful. There is a huge selection of cheese to buy as well as bread and other treats. I could not recommend this place any more if you fancy a good sandwich. The bread, meat and even salad is such quality. Please order from this place!

Lovely place to sit outside if the weather is good. Perfect sandwiches and coffee also great sausage rolls. Lovely hour sat in the sun chatting. Enjoyed it.

Visited on 18th October for lunch. Quality of food and service did not disappoint. The lady who served us had a lovely manner and the focaccia’s were amazing. Would be visiting again.

I had the goats cheese and chilli jam toastie and it was exceptional. They also sell deli items, coffee and wine. Highly recommended for your lunch stop.

Honestly the best sandwich I have ever had, everyone is so friendly in there and the ingredients are so fresh and delicious, everything you could ever want!

Went in for lunch. Not a lot of choice once we were told what they didn't have.

Had a porcetta panini and a sausage roll this afternoon, both delicious :).

Very pleased with the sweet and savory box for 3-4 + ham baguette. Fed 4 hungry adults and a child, with plenty left over. Will definitely be back.

Coffee good I also had a Scotch egg one of the best I've had. My partner had a sausage roll and she loved it. There's a good choice of sandwiches. will be back.

Love ordering from this place. Their food is always extremely fresh and they really pack the sandwiches full with what you order, recommend trying one of their special sandwiches and sausage rolls! They also have an easy online ordering system so you can order while you're at work and it's ready for your arrival.

We ordered a gift pack to be delivered to our sister for her birthday in the UK all the way from Australia. Larissa made the process so easy and was so helpful. My sister loved her surprise, it made her day! Highly recommended! Thanks Pickled Fig!

After moving to Hessle in October we are only now trying out the local places of interest and The Pickled Fig always looked like a great place to grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately service was really slow and i opted just to get a coffee and cake to go. After 15 minutes i finally had my coffee and brownie. No complsints about the food byt i would suggest having more staff at hand to setve people in a timely manner. We will be back agsin to try the hot food im sure.

Got my favourite sandwich made for me which is the first thing I’ve eaten in days since surgery. Delicious pesto chicken with lemon mayonnaise in sourdough….thoroughly recommend.

I ordered a cheese box and some extra bits last minute for the weekend. The staff were so lovely and extremely helpful! It turned up the next day and was packaged so nicely. All the cheeses and extra bits tasted amazing! I will definitely be ordering from here again and highly recommended. Thank you Pickled Fig x

Nothing was too much trouble for these guys when it came to arranging Mother's Day gift and delivery in lockdown! They really took the stress out if it and offered to help any way they could. Thank you so much ...... we will pop in once lockdown is over!!

Great place. Larissa sort out a bespoke Mother’s Day hamper which was perfect. They have a great and eclectic collection of food stuffs! Also had a sandwich there which amazing!

I decided to order my boyfriend a gentleman's brunch box for our anniversary, after seeing it advertised on the Facebook page. I wasn't quite sure where to find it on the website, so I telephoned the shop and spoke to a very friendly gentleman. I placed my order online, the base price is £12.50, depending on which options you select, you may pay slightly more. For the cheese, you can choose from cheddar (Pickled Fig recommend pairing this with apple and ale chutney) or blue (Pickled Fig recommend pairing this with pear and white wine chutney). For the chutney, you can choose apple and ale, or pear and white wine. For the tea and coffee, you can have neither, english breakfast, decaf english breakfast, earl grey, afternoon darjeeling, organic peppermint, a Safi coffee bag or a decaf Safi coffee bag. For the Ale, you can have none, alcoholic or non alcoholic. For the egg choice, you can have none, a scotch egg or a picnic quiche. The website advises that if you don't want an egg, you can request an extra sausage roll or pork pie.In addition to this, you also get: a mini bread loaf with butter pat, a selection of 4 cheese biscuits, a mini pork pie from a local supplier, a half size sausage roll, mini mustard or chilli jam from a local supplier, and compostible cutlery and a compostible napkin. My choices were cheddar cheese, apple and ale chutney, english breakfast tea, alcoholic ale and a scotch egg.When I placed my order online, I queried if the shop could provide a little gift card as it is our anniversary. To my surprise they did! It was a beautiful little card with 2 cartoon figs on, with the words Happy Anniversary. This was very sweet. Everything was beautifully packaged in a big box with a handle. I did notice we didn't get the little piece of butter, or the mini mustard/chilli jam, but we just assumed this was because of supply/stock issues.I was so impressed by the whole design of the box and the effort that goes into the products, plus the gentleman who served me and spoke to me on the telephone (sorry I can't remember your name) was very friendly. I will definitely be buying some more made to order products for Christmas presents. If you have never visited Pickled Fig before, please give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

WOW, wow, wow!! First and foremost was the amazing service - Larissa was outstanding and went above and beyond to help with my order (placed for delivery as a gift) - her suggestions and attention to small details made the gift even more special. The order was baked fresh then beautifully boxed. We ordered a mix of savoury and sweet baked treats and everything was outstanding - both the taste and quality of ingredients. I cannot praise or recommend this wonderful independent store highly enough.

A wonderful Friday lunchtime treat for a keyworker at the end of a long, tough working week. The BEST sandwich I have ever tasted, pesto chicken with sunblush tomatoes, totally recommended.

These guys do the best cheese tasting boards ever. We've had about 4 in as many weeks. Really well packaged and amazing value.

Collected my first “takeaway afternoon tea” am overjoyed with the whole experience. Friendly accommodating service, beautifully packaging inside of which is a magical mix of sandwiches and treats cannot recommend highly enough! We were delighted with the afternoon tea which we collected today! My favourite sandwich was the coronation chicken and my husband's was the smoked salmon. We also enjoyed a fruit scone with clotted cream and a selection of delicious small cakes.Also we collected a cheese tasting selection which consisted of 4 really special cheeses, lovely chutneys and crackers and some fruit cake. There were tasting notes for the cheeses advising what would pair with them and describing where and how they were made. This is our 2nd different cheese tasting selection and both were excellent.This is a truly lovely independent deli and bakery and the owners really go the extra mile to make customers feel special.

This place is top notch. Larissa went out of her way to put together a beautiful hamper as a gift for family (and even delivered it due to lock down travel challenges!). Can't wait to be able to visit in person.

Been here several times recently and never fails to disappoint. The coffee and biscoff brownies are amazing! Also had an incredible wine and cheese evening here which I can’t rave enough about! Particular favourite was the Sancerre Rose with the driftwood ash goats cheese (and a drizzle of honey!) - it was heaven! Can’t recommend enough!

Dropped in for soup, sandwich and coffee. It’s sometimes difficult to get excited by soup and sandwich but Bob’s sandwich’s are ace. He bakes his own bread and the filling was simply lovely. It was my second visit and there will be many more. Keep it up Pickled Fig!

I visited The Pickled Fig today whilst visiting family in Hessle. We all ordered a sandwich and shared a bottle of Prosecco. I had a roast beef, vintage cheddar and onion chutney on a ciabatta. You could tell the ingredients were top quality. It really was delicious and the selection of different breads was really impressive. It was really reasonably priced especially the bottle of Prosecco which was also really good quality. I would highly recommend this place for superb food a a genuinely warm welcome

Lovely place to stop for a coffee/tea with a good selection of homemade cakes, Enjoy eating at the outside tables under the canopy.A very wide selection on the lunchtime menu of sandwiches and jacket potatoes and salads. I ordered the York ham with Swiss cheese and chutney . There was a choice of different breads. It was delicious and very good value for money. The shop is well stocked of interesting things to buy and take home to use in your own dishes.

Cannot fault this place and cannot thank them enough. I turned up with my 3 year old daughter who is a fussy eater, they accommodated her request and didn't rush us when ordering. All staff were extra friendly and even watched our table and food whilst I took my daughter to the toilet. Will definitely visit again and recommend to a friend as both myself and daughter her happy, had full bellies and both enjoyed our meals. Thank you to the staff.

Fabulous deli in Hessle. Great selection of gluten free products including yummy cakes ( apple crumble and rocky road being a favourite). Wonderful customer service, couldn’t do enough. Would highly recommend.

Service is absolutely fantastic, all of the staff are so helpful and great to talk to. They cannot do enough and give you samples of food to try if you wish. Such a high quality of food served here, certainly the best deli/cafe in Hessle by far. Such a wide range of products on the deli side, very impressed with every visit. Lunch is so fresh and tasty, quality products.

We love to come here to pick up a sandwich to take away or eat at the tables outside. We usually end up browsing and picking up an interesting pastry ( the Portuguese tarts are amazing ) and the sausage rolls are fabulous. Great selection of cheeses, meats and wines.Definately the number one deli in Hessle.

Just visited to see if they sold pizza base. They did. Was struck by the attentive service and generosity of the man and lady that worked there. Not only did he help me to choose the base he gave me some yeast to add. Really great. I bought a cup of thick chunky vegetable soup and it was absolutely delicious. Excellent.

Me and my partner were in Hessle at lunch time at the weekend and were deciding where to get some lunch. I walked past this place and stopped to look at the menus in the window, we then decided to eat here as we have never been before and the selection looked good. The Pickled Fig is a deli and fine food store, and has a varied selection of cheeses, cooked meats, breads, cakes and more. Tucked away in the front corner is a variety of food and gifts, such as chocolates, curry sauces, dipping oils for bread and much more. I decided to have a piadina (thin Italian flatbread) with parma ham, mozzarella, rocket and oregano oil. This was very nice! (My partner had the same fillings but a different type of bread) There is a chiller with different drinks, I chose an apple and rhubarb drink and my partner chose cola. I would like to add that the staff are friendly, especially the older lady. I asked her how long the place had been here, to my surprise she said since October. Overall, I am pleased I found this place and we will definitely come back

Busy establishment with excellent selection of food. The sausage rolls are to die for with huge amount of filling.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Very knowledgeable about everything especially the cheeses and well priced wines I chose with their help. The deli products are thoughtfully selected and unusual brands were good to find. The potted meat is as good as my mum made and there are lots of other freshly made foods cooked by themselves ....so I am now a regular customer even though I'm not local. And they're at Hessle market too

Deli, Cafe and Takeaway with a range of goodies. I'd already eaten so just got pudd, however I shall try here next time for main. Take out or small but comfy bar stool eating in area. Accessibility - normal but level with the pavement shop door. Car Park - pedestrianised area, but near by 1-hour on street parking in The Square or free car park (including parking for the disabled) behind the Co-op. Staff - friendly and helpful. Toilet - I didn't check, mainly a shop so may not have a customer toilet

Highly recommend visiting The Pickled Fig! I've been a number of times and loved everything I've tried. The sausage rolls and desserts in particular are very good. They post specials on their Facebook page, today's was homemade pulled pork. Lovely! Huge thanks to Bob and the team for the wonderful food and service!

Fantastic food selection. It's a must. The sandwiches and pastries are wonderful. Soups are good too. A great lunch alternative. Give it a try.

The Pickled Fig sell some magnificent food, their sausage rolls are to die for. And then you have the desserts. So far we have tried the marshmallow chocolate squares, which are like a gluten free rocky road as they use nuts instead of biscuits. Every time the service is wonderful, Bob and his staff are so friendly. We make sure to pop in every weekend to try something new. This week's treat is this Oreo muffin! Absolutely amazing! Highly recommended!
