The Physic Garden Cafe in Kensington and Chelsea

Hemos dejado de comer aquí ahora, ya que la calidad y la selección que se ofrece es muy caro y pobre. Hace poco paramos a tomar una taza de té, hecha con una bolsita de té muy débil, fue simplemente horrible. Hay tantas otras alternativas locales, incluyendo el nuevo café, Heidi, justo al final de la calle en el Hospital Real. El gerente del CPG parece haberse ido también. Me parece que la vida de este café está en una encrucijada una vez más. Creo que debería centrarse en hacer lo básico bien y ofrecer comida de café simple, sándwiches, ensaladas y pasteles. O, volver a ofrecer alimentos de mayor calidad que sean dignos de los precios cobrados.

La comida era sabrosa e imaginativa y el lugar agradable, pero el servicio era terrible. La camarera no vino a tomar nuestra orden hasta que la había llamado desde el otro lado de la habitación. Ella nos aseguró que todos los platos principales estaban calientes, pero mi plato de batata estaba frío. (Yo había querido comer comida caliente ya que era un día frío). Ella estaba completamente desinteresada cuando mencioné esto mientras pagaba la factura, lo que llevó mucho tiempo porque el personal no sabía cómo operar la caja.

Precios ridículos por comida deficiente. Pudín de toffee pegajoso con crema en polvo por 12 libras, ¿en serio? La ensalada de chorritos era repugnante, bastante impactante.

Lamentablemente, he ido cuesta abajo hasta el punto en que ahora considero mi membresía. Mejor evitarlo. Pruebe el café museo cercano o la nueva panadería más adelante. No sé qué es peor, la comida repugnante o la actitud desinteresada del personal.

La última vez que visité el café fue a finales de octubre de 2023 e hice una primera línea para él después del viaje de este año a los jardines. Sí, el lugar ha sido renovado, pero el servicio y la comida ha ido cuesta abajo, drásticamente. Como otros han mencionado, las opciones de menú ahora parecen estar muy enfocadas en los que no comen carne - genial para ellos, pero la selección deslucida no era para nosotros. ¡La selección de pasteles fue triste y el mío sabía como si hubiera estado en exhibición un poco demasiado tiempo! No recuerdo nada del personal de visitas anteriores, pero aprecio que sea un negocio transitorio, y aquellos que trabajaban cuando estábamos allí habrían luchado por haber estado más desinteresados en proporcionar cualquier tipo de servicio, ¡menos una sonrisa! Tratar de atraer la atención de alguien fue vergonzoso, especialmente porque le había dicho a mis huéspedes lo encantador que era el café. Si bien el baño ha sido redecorado, la limpieza deja mucho que desear. Iré a otro lugar a almorzar en mi próxima visita a los jardines.

Indifferent food served by grumpy staff with no interest in the garden or its ethos. Take a picnic if you are visiting.
