For many years I used Greenfields where I received consistently outstanding courteous, friendly, and swift service. Now where are they? Food quality was always the highest and prices reasonable but creeping up forced upon them by rapacious landlord happy to cede their territory to the growing French / Belgian community. Was it not Bonaparte who referred to the English as a "nation of shopkeepers"? Is it not ironic, therefore, that where he could not win at Waterloo his descendants could in South Ken....

This was my favorite breakfast place! They moved to another location near South Ken Station & then closed up there shortly after. Does anyone know if they've opened up somewhere else?

Just popped in to the Emporium cafe to enjoy a Fentimans ginger beer and was told that there is a £3.95 minimum spend ! Not surprised that the place was completely empty. When I asked why the two girls told me because the boss says. Unacceptable.

Enjoy it!

I work in the area and although not cheap, this lovely little cafe is one of the few with real character left in an area now dominated by the expensive chains (nobody else can afford the rent). The food is genuinely homemade and fresh. The other cafes tend to reheat stuff delivered by vans every morning. Although they have been forced to move to smaller premises now at the corner of the tube station arcade, Greenfields are still maintaing their high standards and genuineIy different offer. I really like this place and visit regularly for takeaway lunches.

Had a chicken escalope with bacon, cheese and chilli mayo. It was so bland and dry, won't be ordering from there again. Customer service was not exactly warming either. Give it a miss

I realise how small this cafe is, surrounded by some which are indeed spacious and perhaps more attractive, but I still love the atmosphere and the food this place has to offer in such a great little site in South Kensington. The cakes on offer are enough to make you go inside and with plenty on display it really seems appetising. It is an issue when it's busy though, as there really isn't that much seating and what is there is very cramped together!

Nice little place, small and cosy (possibly cramped depending on your view) we sat down and didn't notice that this ups the price by more than just VAT rate. I know seats are at a premium but still nearly thirty pounds for two sandwiches, two drinks (a tea and a can of coke) and a kids meal with a take away coffee seems really high, even in Kensington where I imagine that the rents are a premium. I just felt a little bit robbed. which is a shame as the food was pretty decent!

Discreto, frequentato dal personale dei musei, pochi piatti semplici e con ingredienti di qualità, queste son le carte vincenti. I posti a sedere son proprio pochino: o siete fortunati o vi sedete fuori o siete disposti ad aspettare... Costo contenuto e cameriere cortesi. Ottimo per un pranzo sano e low cost, senza essere sommersi da hamburger e fish&chips.

Absolutely lovely place - befitting for the South Kennigston's intellectual environs. Feels like a Vienna coffee session in progress as you munch the delicious sandwiches and sip your coffee. The sit out area is more appealing and the obliging hosts - the elderly owner and his assistants - make you feel at home.

I have been in this café several times over the years, and even if the street has changed a lot and is now full of bars all around, Greenfield's coffee house remains my favourite. I don't understand reviews that says all the bad about the owner - a really nice man I always see taking everything under control during rush hours - or the food. You have to know what you are looking for. If you are looking for a fresh sandwich made to order, a wide selection of breads and fillings, for good coffee or a full english breakfast, that's the good place in this very touristic area. Good place!

We popped in here for sandwiches to take away while we queued up to get into the nearby natural history museum and it was very busy indeed!! The display of food looked lovely and I was tempted by the filo quiche but had a salad box and a panini instead - food tasted good and was reasonably priced for the location.

Terrible coffee, terrible breakfast and the owner is a grumpy old man who looks and acts like a penny pincher. Only reason we tried it was to sit outside in the sun.

This really was a great little cafe which we randomly came across - though it can get quite cramped if it's busy. Nice little selection, the food was great and at a good price too! The staff were friendly and were happy to recommend dishes to our requirements, Will definitely return here!

In need of my morning coffee and croissant I stopped there. Croissant is 1.10£ at the counter, double espresso is 2.30£... Not that cheap already. Decided to seat for 5 minutes to enjoy it. Croissant was not very good and coffee... mediocre at best. So not a good value for money, but the blow came with the check! Croissant becomes 2.25£ when you seat! And they dare asking you for service for walking the 2 metres between the counter and the table. Total rip off. Stay away from it!

Before a full day at the Natural History Museum, I went there for a fresh orange juice, scrambled eggs, and smoked salmon and I asked for my coffee to go after my meal. It was all excellent. Particularly the smoked salmon, and of which I am a fan. It was a generous serving, and very fresh. The eggs were very fluffy. Service was attentive and efficient, though I was somewhat put off by the fellow tourists boisterously chewing food with their mouth open and snapping away at the table beside me, that's could not be easily avoided. I noticed a full breakfast menu, the excellent coffee, and a number of delicious pasties that filled up the cafe as well. I'll be back again in the morning before a day at the museum.

The food is of good quality but at more than £12 for a bacon sandwich, toast, tea and a coffee it was expensive. It is quite cramped but maybe that adds to the atmosphere. The staff are helpful enough. There were probably better value menu options so you need to be careful about your choices.

Good quality food, healthy options at reasonable prices. I enjoyed a prawn and free range egg salad at £8.50 which was loaded with pasta, potato salad, couscous, Greek salad, bean salad as well as the usual Tom,cue and lettuce. We returned later for cake and coffee and the next morning for breakfast.

Went for a celebratory meal with my boyfriend and we are still dreaming about the burrata with the chilli breadcrumbs and the melt in your mouth rib of beef. Absolutely delicious food and a great atmosphere

I convinced my daughter to try this with me (she does NOT like ice cream). She lived it and so did I...the perfect treat on a warm day after Portabello shopping. You can pick your flavors a d it's presented in a beautiful flower shape! Perfect and delicious!
