One of the best quality Sunday lunches I’ve had, super setting and great friendly staff. Highly recommended.

After having our wedding reception here a few years ago, we were reluctant to return in case the experience wasn’t as special. We shouldn’t have worried about that - the service here is exceptional. We visited for a drink a few months ago and sat at the bar and enjoyed it so much we booked in for a roast dinner. The food was excellent and easily in the top three roast dinners we’ve had in London, if not the whole of the UK. The service on every occasion we’ve been has been amazing. The staff are friendly, attentive and can’t do enough to ensure your visit is a good one. We’ll definitely be going back.

We spent the evening in the Oakley room for my sister’s bridal shower and it was so perfect! The staff leading up to the event were very helpful with organising the evening and Robert and Michaela on the night were just incredible!! They were so attentive, flexible with the way the evening was planned to suit our needs, unbelievably helpful in ensuring the bride and all the guests had a fantastic fun evening, I can’t thank them enough! The food was delicious and a lovely selection of wines available. I would highly recommend this space for a private event. Thank you so much to the whole team at the Phene!

The Phene is a lovely pub and restaurant, a short 5-minute walk from Kings Road. We had a fantastic Sunday lunch. The food was beautifully cooked, good-sized portions and the served beautifully. We all had the roasted artichoke to start, followed by a roast lamb, pork belly, and stone bass. We could not fault anything. All of which was a great relief, as we are heading back to the beautiful Oakley Room for our wedding lunch this summer.

Had lovely drink and meal here, enjoyed my evening. Especially appreciate Orli as our waitress that bring rlly nice service towards us.

Turned up at 6:30 on a Saturday—our friends were already seated in the garden. I told the doorman, who snapped back, “I don’t know what your friends look like.” I pointed them out—clearly visible through the gate—but he doubled down: “Ring them. You’re not coming in.” So there we stood, outside like unwanted guests, being forced to call our own party just to be allowed in. Meanwhile, two people happened to walk by and he said “Do you want to come in?” No questions asked. Double standards? Without a doubt. Eventually, our friend came to get us and only then were we allowed through. I spoke to the manager inside—he was polite, apologetic, and offered a free pint, which I appreciated. He said he would ‘speak with him.’ We spent over £140. The food and drinks were fine, but the real standout was the waitress: friendly, professional, and somehow gracefully navigating a smoky garden. As we left, the doorman couldn’t resist a dry “See you, young man” to the doorman. Safe to say—I won’t again. I’ve been to The Phene many times before, including hiring out the private dining room upstairs. But after this? I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. This isn’t a cheap nightclub. Try treating guests with a bit more respect.

My wife and I decided to spend the week in London, and we stopped to eat at this restaurant. We absolutely loved it—the food was excellent! We’d like to highlight the great work of Clara, who welcomed us warmly and showed outstanding professionalism, especially considering how busy the restaurant was! We were also pleasantly surprised to discover that she spoke very good French—it’s always nice to have a little piece of home, even abroad. Special mention to Chiara LP as well, who also took great care of us! Many thanks to both of them, and we hope to come back again! Thank you also for the wonderful food. Au revoir !!

We hired The Club Room for a hen party. The staff were amazing (we were looked after by the lovely Chiara!), the room was super clean. Food was excellent. Well worth it, so good for events.

Had a very nice lunch. Only negative was no roast potatoes were served with the roast beef for some reason.

We had a party here for my Dad’s 99th birthday in the club room upstairs. It all went brilliantly - room was lovely and staff excellent. The only thing that could’ve been improved was the main course was a bit cold. But after carrying all those plates up two flights of stairs , it was inevitable. Everyone had a great time.

We have had several wonderful meals at The Phene. The atmosphere is lively and beautiful, the food is interesting and served fresh and piping hot, and the staff are all incredibly nice and helpful. We had an excellent dinner last night with two great servers, including Samantha who was lovely and friendly and timed everything perfectly. Excellent drinks too!

One of my favourite pubs in Chelsea! Great tucked away location just off the Kings Rd. Had drinks out in the garden which was lovely. Huge shoutout to our waitress (Alice) who was really friendly and attentive!

Attended a private function here- A wedding the food was lovely and all arranged beautifully, but I specifically had to leave a review for Priscilla. She was a fabulous host to the event. Attentive, approachable and an absolute delight!!

Lovely pub ! Off the main road. The saloon was cool and my burger was great. The staff and atmosphere were great too, Samantha served us and she was attentive and very helpful. We look forward for to coming back next time we’re in London.

Excellent for gluten free, great vibes

We had a fantastic lunch on the patio at The Phene when visiting family in London recently - my father in law has been coming here for decades and the updated version of The Phene is more gastropub/restaurant than traditional London Pub now which is exactly what we were looking for. We had our 10 and 13 year olds with us and the kids menu was exactly what we were looking for too - not too "childish" but also offered more accessible options. The best part was hands down the staff - Priscilla and Mykalia were fantastic - we had a little water spill AND lost a tooth and they were lovely and gracious - and FUNNY - about everything. I cannot recommend it enough as a tucked away option for a great lunch or dinner if in Chelsea...

My friend and I were in Chelsea, it’s a spot we often return to for meet ups although not often enough to know where to go. Anyway, beautiful day and we took a wander. Asked a local for a pub recommendation and ended up at this place. What a find. We managed to get a table, I had Sunday lunch, roast beef. Melt in the mouth gorgeous and we did have a few glasses of wine - it was a catch up! Anyway the house Rosé was superb. Light and delicious. Did I mention we had a Hugo too! Our waitress Samantha was personable, professional, fun and when I heard her doing her hand over she was very impressive. We had such a lovely afternoon in this glorious pub. Do give it a try!

We had 2 wonderful vegetarian options that were absolutely delicious! The caramelized beetroot and the mushroom gnocchi were 2 of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever eaten. For dessert, we had the bread pudding, made on site. I’m pretty sure that it was better than my grandmothers pudding. I highly recommend that you try this restaurant out when you’re in London. The atmosphere was energetic, the staff were amazing!

We had a wonderful experience at the Phene! Excellent, friendly service and truly delicious food in a beautiful location. We had our post-wedding ceremony lunch there, and despite not booking one of their private rooms since we didn't have many guests with us, we were seated in a more reserved area that felt very intimate and perfect for the occasion. When my wife and I arrived they kindly offered us a welcome drink that made us feel very welcome and made the day feel extra special. Highly recommended!

Absolutely love this pub! The atmosphere is always welcoming, and it feels like a proper home away from home. The food and drinks are consistently great, but what really sets this place apart is the staff. Kelly and Priscilla are absolute stars – they go above and beyond every time I visit. Always smiling, always friendly, and they genuinely care about making your experience a good one. They bring such a great energy to the place and make everyone feel looked after.

I had the most wonderful evening at The Phene with friends for my birthday. Priscilla was fantastic - so kind and welcoming and made the evening really special, thank you so much! The food was delicious and all the staff were so lovely.

The Phene is set in a great prime location - the garden is a lovely botanical area to chill out and retreat from inside the pub and restaurant. Been here twice for both neices hosting special occasions Baptism and Baby Shower. Food most recently was edible yet shockingly average considering the price points; waiting time for meals to come to tables was disappointing considering event was planned and pre-booked. Would not return primarily to eat, will return on the basis that ambience is 10 out of 10, appreciate the outdoor greenery and luxe-comfort decor, interiors and furnishings throughout.

My goodness me..!!! This could not have been more awful if they tried..!!! The Sunday roast was arguably the worst roast I have had in any pub from Brighton to London..!! The contemptuous attitude of the the staff was laughable. !!! Absolutely will not be returning, even for a pint of a ridiculously overpriced pint..!! close down and turn into a super mansion..!!! I fully support the idea of getting rid of these awful pubs that give Chelsea a bad name..!!!!

My fifth or sixth time here. Usually it’s absolutely fantastic. However this was my first time for dinner and the food was very tasty but the mussels 2 of our party had arrived cold and took a while but not the end of the world but not great, the cote de boeuf we were told would take a little longer(30mins) which is fine however we still waited almost 10 mins for one of the other mains after the cote de boeuf arrived, wine glasses were warm and the explanation given was we don’t have cold ones then the lager was flat and was told if we pour another that would be flat too probably so best to keep the one we had. Reuben on the door as usual was very kind and accommodating such a shame as we always enjoy it here

Reservamos una mesa y estábamos encantados de encontrar que era tan encantador como lo recordamos! Muy elegante pero acogedor con fuego acogedor y cálida bienvenida. Nos ofrecieron nuestra mesa, sin embargo, estaba justo al lado de un solo paseo en que estaba charlando en voz alta en su llamada telefónica; nos ofrecieron felizmente otra mesa (gracias! ) Nuestra sopa estaba muy bien presentada y caliente y delicioso. Pedí el pithivier de calabaza, castaña y Cashel Blue con una ensalada de pera, cavolo negro y avellana - absolutamente precioso! Mi compañero tenía la carne asada y no se decepcionó. We held a private event in The Oakley Room and everything was wonderful. Our service from Michaela was excellent - warm, friendly and personal. The food was amazing, even for our large party size. The events team were really helpful and responsive in the lead up to the event. I would definitely recommend and use The Phene again for future events.

Brilliant event, from the planning to the actual event itself. Food was delicious, service was fantastic and everything was just seamless! Kim was always on hand to help in the run up and Clara was great on the day - thanks to the whole team! Going to the pub afterwards in our fancy dress outfits was the perfect end to our time at The Phene. A fabulous work Christmas event.

Very dissapointed as had pints served in a plastic glass was told dish washer was broken (not my problem) yet there was glasses available for other drinks

La organización de una cena de Navidad para 12 amigos fue fantástica. La comida era buena, pero lo que hizo que fuera el servicio - Alicia era excelente, y todo esto en un sábado por la noche cerca de Navidad, cuando la gente está invariablemente cansada y sobre trabajar. Ella y sus colegas fueron fabulosos... Sin duda volveré.

Nice pub, the taste of the food is above average. Their Sunday roast plates are delicious. Staff is not paying attention unless you wave with both hands for 45 seconds but they were nice

As a wedding photographer, I have had the pleasure of documenting love stories at this iconic venue, and its blend of historical charm and modern sophistication makes it a truly unique choice.

Despite me being completely chaotic, changing guest numbers far too many times, the booking, greeting and waiting staff could not have been more courteous, friendly and professional. We were lucky enough to be in the club room and felt very special, had a wonderful, relaxed and delicious lunch that was a perfect send off for friends heading home to Australia.

A proper traditional London pub in the heart of the townhouses. Food and hospitality was on point throughout our time. We probably wouldn’t have left if there wasn’t a time they needed the table back. Would definitely return again!

Después de haber reservado y solicitado sentarse en el restaurante hace un mes fue desalentador cuando aparecimos para sentarse en la sección de bar / pub debido a que el restaurante se reserva en privado. Elevé mi infelicidad a los caballeros que nos sentaron mientras el bar era bastante ruidoso. Se burló y me dijo que debería esperar que fuera ruidoso ya que es sábado. El ruido en los bares es mucho más alto que las zonas de restaurantes en mi experiencia. Si nos hubieran informado que no podíamos sentarnos en el restaurante que habríamos reservado en otro lugar. La comida era agradable, pero nos conformamos con un entrante y hamburguesas, ya que comer cualquier cosa mejor en un entorno así parecía francamente un desperdicio. Vidrio gratis (de lo que supongo que fue Prosecco) fue traído a nosotros, pero realmente no compensó la experiencia. A mi padre le encanta este pub y lo visita mucho, así que estaba deseando mostrármelo, pero basándome en mi experiencia no estoy seguro de volver.

We hosted a thanksgiving dinner for 26, and Sophia worked with us to put an American twist on the Christmas menu. We were welcomed warmly by the team, The service was efficient and fast to get 26 plates on the table in record time. The communication through the event was clear and informative. They did not even blink at the inflatable turkey outfits that filled the space. Thank you and can’t wait to come back

My daughter had booked a table for 3, but when we arrived on Sunday 24 November then was no booking and only space outside in the garden. Not good with the weather conditions and Storm Bert. The outside space looked tatty. All of the cushions were wet - obviously they had not been taken in overnight. The vegetation was covering my daughters face and should have been pruned ! Then we were told they had run out of bottled water ! Also they had run out of Oat milk! To be honest the whole thing was quite chaotic and not what I would expect from such a well known Chelsea pub. The waiting staff were great and the food was good but severely lacking in any sort of proper management. Needs looking at. I would not recommend again.

We had an amazing Sunday roast. The service, to our group of 7 including 2 kids, was really friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back!

Do not go for a Sunday roast, extortionate prices for meagre portions. £27 for a fillet of fish and a few potatoes and roast beef is one sliver of meat, one carrot, one parsnip, spoonful of green veg, a few potatoes, a burnt Yorkshire and not enough gravy. Great staff but do not waste your money.

My wife and I very recently celebrated our wedding celebration at the Phene after a short walk from the registry office. What an absolutely fantastic venue with even better staff. Everything was brilliant, from the food, to the set up, to the service…just absolutely flawless. A huge huge thank you to all of the Phene team, the chefs, management, bar staff and a particular shoutout to Rob & Alice (and Ruben!) who were just incredible on the day (apologies I know there were more but didn’t catch all names). Nothing was too much hassle for them and they went out of their way to make sure we had an evening to remember. The Phene and the staff will always have a place in our hearts! We will be back again! Amazing Sunday roast - I got the traditional roast beef and cauliflower cheese (which was to die for!) and my mum got the pork chop which she says was the best gluten free meal she has ever had in a restaurant! The service was great and sitting outside in their garden on a nice summer night added to the experience. Would definitely come again!

My friend decided to celebrate the 25th anniversary (to the day) of opening her independent shop on the Kings Road yesterday evening at the Phene in the garden, so this was a very special booking we made in advance. When we arrived, things had not gone to plan at the restaurant and we were offered a table indoors. We were gutted...The Manager said there was nothing she could do. We were 7 people. There was however a huge table outdoors where there were only 2 boys, so I figured we could work something out with them, considering it was such a special occasion. The boys very kindly moved, but it took my suggesting it after lots of stress instead of the Manager thinking about finding a solution herself. In my job, like most jobs, one must always find solutions to difficult situations. I could not say 'it is not possible.'. There is always a way. I hope the Manager will do this in future. The evening turned out well in the end. The food was excellent. The one niggle I would have is that it was too crowded in the garden where we were. There was a huge table behind us (who were lovely), but the tables could have been moved so that our table of 7 could have moved a bit more easily. I was too exhausted at this point to mention that at the time, but I think it is important for future reservations.

Absolutely shocking food quality. Our group ordered 2 roast beef’s and 2 Caesar salads. The beef was well overcooked and grey and the potatoes were soft as if they’d been boiled rather than roasted. The Caesar salads had a very low quality leg of chicken with bones all the way through. They were on a very plain bed of lettuce. Overall a very poor experience in what used to be a good pub.
