Wow! - I'm a great fan of real ale bars and the whole scene that surrounds that but this one is great! Excellent selection of ales and a great vibe. The real thing that stands out with this one (of many) craft ale bars in Stockport is that this is mainly hand pulled - not keg and is significantly cheaper than the ones around the market place. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed....

I'll start by saying that I really like the Petersgate Tap. The beer is invariably excellent and there's always a wide variety on. Accessibility: the women's toilet is also an accessible toilet. There's no red cord and you have to negotiate the bar and a narrow corridor to get there, which is possible in my manual wheelchair, but would be impossible with anything bigger. However, due to the size of the building, they have perhaps done the best with the space they have. You do have to be careful when leaving as the door opens into the same space as the men exit their toilet and you can hit people with the door. The main issue for this review is that I used to be able to get in and out unaided. However, over the New Year they got a new front door and it's got a large lip followed by a slightly sunken doormat. It's perfect for trapping a standard NHS wheelchair so you get stuck and need rescuing. I spoke to the manager about getting a ramp to make it easier, but 4 months later and nothing has changed. It's not just wheelchair users who have a problem, I saw several ambulatory people trip over it. It gets very busy and often it's difficult to find a table. There is an upstairs, but I've never been up there. People are friendly and there's always something random bloke to chat to (Hi Chris). If the door issue and red cord were fixed, it would be a 5* venue for me.

Visited for pre-match drinks before a Stockport County game. Six quality ales on cask and they were in top notch condition. Excellent pork pie too to accompany a couple of pints of Lancaster Black Stout. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Definitely worth a visit if ever you are in town.

An absolutely great little real ale pub in the centre of Stockport. Has some very good beers with a friendly team and also live music at the weekends.

Not a great visual display of drinks. Toilet a very poor facility, standing in the queue could smell the pee, so decided against using it. On a positive note not too long a queue at the bar and nice to sit outside on a warm evening.

Been trying to go here for a long time and finally got my chance and I wasn’t disappointed. Great choices of beer ales lagers and Stockport gin . We enjoyed a few hours in there and was very impressed with the service atmosphere and value for money drinks . You could spend hours in there trying all they have .

First time to Stockport, mainly on recommendation for good pubs, after lockdown the need to get out and socialise is greater. Excellent micro pub ,with a good range of cask ales in great condition.upstairs has a wide range of continental beers . The only thing negative was that the manager / bar staff need to remind locals that their very loud language is not acceptable to everyone, continuous use of the f word wears thin after the first few minutes.

We like it in here as beer consistently good and prices are fair. Upstairs sometimes has live music. We visited on a Saturday afternoon just for drinks. Can get busy and not loads of seating downstairs.

This was the fifth pub visited on a Coach trip from Leicester. We only had time for a quick visit and I’d have liked to have lingered longer. I’m a big fan of micros and this has made a big impression on Stockport and I can see why. A great way to link up the Stocky Slope and the Market Area

Visited here yesterday for a winter beer tasting which was held upstairs which was rather cold but the beer was excellent. Downstairs, we did sit afterwards and it was very nice. Plenty of beers to go at and all at very reasonable prices. If we lived nearer then it would certainly be one of my local pubs.

I could have stayed here a lot longer the other day. I learned so much from the history book on the table, about beers and lagers from Europe and the New World. Some I've had, others I've yet to experience the pleasure, or the aroma.

Friendly and with a good selection of ales and ciders. Like Farmers Markets I just can't see why we have to endure such high prices per pint. Lowering them might just tempt people to come out more.

I’d walked past this one earlier in the day when it was closed and had the shutters down and thought it didn’t look much, but my judgement could have been influenced by the fact that St Petersgate isn’t the most salubrious of the areas of Stockport.

Pubs in Stockport town centre tend to be either old-fashioned men's boozers or cater to the noise-loving "yoof" market. As a pleasant bit of variety the Petersgate Tap is neither. It serves good beer in a setting that is more coffee shop than traditional pub.

Pleasant ambiance, great real ale (x 5 at least on tap & a delicious Hawkshead Pale Ale always on tap, lovely!) & laid back but friendly staff. Fairly new (opened before Christmas) & just finding its' feet but definitely waddling in the right direction. Live music, poetry evenings upstairs & even a Vegan 'pop up' kitchen on a Saturday. Highly recommend as good for all age groups & catering for all tastes of drinking....

This was my third visit to Feed since moving to the area and unfortunately, it will likely be my last when it comes to food. I decided to try their Sunday roast this time, but it turned out to be a major letdown. While my partner enjoyed her meal, my experience with the roast beef was disappointing enough that I ended up leaving the entire meal. The beef was tough, undercooked and had the unappetising appearance of something that had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The roast potatoes were equally underwhelming — dry and stale, as if they had been prepared the day before. The greens were burnt and the gravy was watery and flavorless. To their credit, the staff did ask for my feedback and offered me a free dessert, which I declined. Instead, they gave me a complimentary cookie and removed my partner’s drink from the bill. While I appreciated the gesture, I would have preferred if they had addressed the real issue — the £20 I paid for a meal I couldn't eat. Sadly, this experience has solidified my decision not to dine at Feed again. The coffee is still great, so I may return for that, but as for the food, I think I’m done.

I have been coming to this fab cafe since it opened with my children when they were younger with other mummies and have also used it as a business space. The staff are always really accommodating and since the pandemic have worked really hard to accommodate everyone they can whilst making everyone feel safe and welcome. The food is fantastic and we always recommend it to everyone. Even during a difficult time with the rules changing all the time they are still smiling and making everyone feel very welcome
