This would’ve been five, but when you order a breakfast, it states two sausages, but it is one sausage cut inhalf so this is misleading. I don’t like being misled . The food was very nice

Visited the Dal Barista for breakfast and won’t hesitate to come back and try the more substantive meals. The owners were very friendly, the food was so tasty and cooked to order - plain old tomatoes and mushrooms had so much flavour. Importantly the whole place appeared clean and cared for.

What a fantastic place this is - just discovered by me and my teenage son's this morning. We had the most amazing brunch, beautifully served, and thought the coffee is easily the best in Stockport. We don't usually venture out of Heaton Moor where we live and where there are plenty of cafe bars, but this was a real cut above, and we most certainly will be back. The menu is extensive, with plenty of brunch options and Italian meals / puds too. It is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, and how lovely to have somewhere with a table cloth and impeccable old fashioned service. My son's loved it too, and we are keen to go back for lunch and to experience the atmosphere in the evening, where booking is required. The evening menu has a wide range of fish and meat options, plus pasta etc. A real gem.

Best Italian cuisine in Stockport. We came here today after one of our party member had been here before. The cooking was amazing. Full of flavour and beautifully cooked. The waiter turn out to be the owner and the chef, his wife. We had starters that weren’t on the menu or on the special board. So good to always ask. Oyster mushrooms with garlic bread and a plate of mussels and clams cooked in white wine with garlic bread. They were out of this world. My main spaghetti bolognese with meatballs was moist, full of flavour and definitely cooked the authentic way. I would highly recommend this hidden gem. Just be aware that service could be slow, due to only having the two in the small restaurant. We didn’t see anyone else working there today. But please don’t make this put you off going. We had a wonderful and relaxing time there. Thank you and we will return soon.

I rarely eat out because easy for me to put a good meal together but as Mother's Day was the following day, my family wanted to treat me to a meal. I was not very hungry so just chose the tomato soup and a dessert with a coffee. I was very impressed....tables well set including table covering and a very reasonably priced menu to choose from. Everyone enjoyed the meal and although I bake regularly, I have to say that the lemon cake was the best ever. will now try and make it but already I know I will not make such a good one. The prices were very reasonable and the food beautifully presented. The only reason I am not giving a full five is that we had to wait quite a long time and as one of the family had to get a set time coach , we were not as relaxed as we should have been. Definitely will visit again and most likely five rating as we will not be anxious. WELL DONE

Charming little restaurant found up the steps on Little Underbank, right opposite the Queen's Head Pub. The owner is a true Gent, has a very friendly manner and we went for 2 of his recommendations, 2 traditional Sicilian dishes off the specials board. Both were delicious, as was the house red. Also, the Tiramisu is one of the best I've ever had. Check opening times beforehand, closing time on Google was indicating 3pm but it was actually 5pm on this particular Friday.

We ate here yesterday and sadly had the worst food we have had in a long time. The small breakfast and kids fish fingers and chips (which came as chicken strips and not fish as we had asked for) were swimming in grease - in fact, we came out smelling of grease and had to air our coats on the washing line when we got home! The third meal, jacket potato with beans, was poor - only 2 spoonfuls of beans. Everything comes with a very sad little salad (even the cooked breakfast!) and this was covered in salt and inedible. To top it off, they tried to overcharge us by £3. I can’t believe that there are so many positive reviews on here! Maybe we were unlucky - sadly, I think not.

Went for lunch with friends a few days ago. The food was absolutely dreadful. Greasy chips...the salad was just chunks of lettuce and soggy tomatoes. Both my friends Pasta main's were an overcooked disaster. Be warned they do not take any sort of complaint well. We were very disappointed and definitely would not go back. Pero el pastel llegó con una llovizna de caramelo y espolvoreado con coco en polvo. Le dijimos al camarero pero él simplemente desestimó la queja. We’ve been to this cafe a few years ago and thought we would pop in with the kids for a breakfast, first thing we noticed was it’s cash only so had to pop to the cash machine. We ordered two large breakfasts a small one and a sausage sandwich and then waited and waited till we started getting fed up,we realised after 40 minutes that they only serve one table at a time and a table who came in 10 minutes after us were served before us,15 minutes later my breakfast come but not my wife’s or the kids so my wife asked why has it took an hour, straight away the waiter seemed to take it as an insult for asking and started arguing that it wasn’t an hour but more like 45 minutes,he walked of then came back with just my breakfast and said he had mixed the table that come in after us with ours and the rest of the food would be here in a minute. By the time it did arrive I’d already finished my breakfast and they didn’t bring any toast with the rest. I’m not sure if somebody had a word with him but he come back over and apologised and gave us all free drinks,a simple sorry we’ve messed the order up would have been enough in the first place. I wanted to give them 1 star but the breakfast was spot on and he did apologise and he give the kids some sweets when they left and free drinks I would of given 5 stars if he wasn’t rude .jekyll and Hyde service let’s them down and the one hour wait.

Taking the other reviews of slow service into consideration, it has to be remembered that this establishment uses Fresh and cooked at the time ingredients. We visited here for lunch, the reviews looked good but literally everything about the visits was off-putting. The service was very slow but in fairness to the lady waiting she was alone and struggling to keep up with everything. We ordered food and literally each of the 4 meals we had were awful. How wrong can beans on toast be???? The sausage beans and toast wasn't great either. The beans had herbs in them which my children hated, the sausage wasn't pleasant and the toast had only been buttered in the middle!!!! I had a tuna and red onion sandwich with side salad, the salad was inedible and my sandwich arrived with the crusts cut off which made it very small and looked like it should have been for a child!!! My husband ordered the soup and sandwich, the tomato soup we sent back as it was disgusting and swimming with oil. His 'ciabatta' wasn't great and was NOT on a ciabatta....it was just a bread roll. The soup was returned to us and still no better. We also ordered chips which were swimming in oil too. There were other diners also sat there who were not happy. Has to be THE worst place I've ever eaten.

I spotted this little cafe a couple of weeks ago and thought it looked lovely, visited today with nine 10 year olds celebrating my daughters birthday. The cafe staff were very accommodating allowing me to drop of balloons and a cake a couple of hours before and when we arrived tired after 2 hours of shopping they had prepared and set up the table. The childrens meals were cheap at £3 ahead including a drink and although a couple said they were still hungry the portion size was ok for the price. The adult meals were really yummy and again very reasonable. I would definately visit again and highly recommend you visit if you are shopping close to the market and underbank area. In Stockport on business and my colleague told me about this little find; tucked away up some (very) steep stairs.A lovely atmosphere/vibe going on; great staff; subtle and understated décor - and very good food. It was a weekday lunchtime and apparently any two items from the breakfast section and two drinks = £10. Not only very good food, but very good value.I love it when I see Eggs Benedict on the menu - it can be a good test of the mettle of a kitchen. Mine was very good; the eggs were perfect (white just set; yolks runny). Two (very) minor quibbles ... it should have been a good quality ham (not bacon) and I'd have preferred more Hollandaise (my fault for not asking - as I'm sure more would have been offered if I'd asked). My colleague's Eggs Royale (Benedict but with Smoked Salmon rather than ham/bacon) was similarly very good. Overall a very good and very inexpensive lunch. Well done to the owners and staff.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere different to eat and saw the sign for this hidden gem. We are in Stockport regularly and tend to eat at the same places so we thought we would give this little place a try. It was really nice. The whole place was very clean and tidy, the staff were helpful and friendly. The food when it came was clearly cooked with love and fresh ingredients made it very very tasty. We will definitely visit again.

Nice clean decor and dining room. Attentive service at just the right level. Food and drinks were great value (I've read previous critical reviews which ignore the great prices and criticise so unfairly). What more could you want? Would definitely go again if in Stockport. Independently owned and it showed they cared!

Cracking off beaten track little coffee shop and eatery.Staff are fab/ easy going and funny. It's a proper find and so not Stockport ( no offence Stockport )Menu is good as are coffees and they have a licence. It's tucked away up a stairwell but you need to find it. You're overlooking some old fashioned pubs and is on lower hillgate up from Winters pub. Give it a do.

Nice little place. Friendly and accommodating staff. Very well maintained loo. Only gripe was the lack of bread options. Only did white baps. A little wholemeal would have gone a long way. The bap totally overpowered my eggs royale. Everything else was good though and the breakfast deal is great value.

With its geographical location this cafe had a lot of potential however I came to find out this potential has not been fulfilled. Unfortunately I had an inedible meal here a couple of weeks ago, in which I ordered a mozarella ciabatta. The bread was thick and tasted like cardboard and the sandwich was far from toasted with the cheese slightly melted and onions and tomatoes slopped on top of it with no care taken. It was evident staff were not knowledgable of the trade as one gave me milk with my green tea and were lounging around the cafe openly on their devices infront of customers. Customer service only came when we went to pay with a false conversation of "have you got anything planned for today" . Safe to say I wont be coming back here again.

Lovely cosy cafe, tucked away up the steps to Stockport market. The breakfast we had was lovely and there was loads of choice on the breakfast menu.

Visited for breakfasts following the great reviews read here, lovely inside, nice coffee and very friendly service, we had the Eggs Benedict; lovely poached egg but it arrived on a cold plate so within a minute the whole meal was cold also the Hollandaise sauce was out of a jar, also cold, Which ruined the dish completely, when asked if they ever serve fresh sauce i was told "yes, when he can be bothered" I'll come back and give this place another go If they stop cutting corners. Shame as I thought I'd found a hidden gem.

I eat here quite often. It does smell a little bit of damp, and on occasion the service has been slow. However, I keep going back because the food is great and the prices likewise. Massive burger with chips, salad with a lovely latteé for £8ish. Bargain.

After getting a bit bored of the local spoons and there insistence of not putting black pudding back on the menu we thought we'd try somewhere else and found this place hidden away on the steps leading up to the market and what a find it was delicious breakfasts and with 2 breakfasts and any 2 drinks for a tenner cheap as well will definitely be visiting again top quality food and friendly staff

The menu offers everything you’d expect to see in your average British cafe. Food is always cooked wonderfully.😋 All of the staff are kind and helpful and will do anything to make you comfortable. The coffees are lovely too! The play room at the back is perfect for after you’ve filled your belly! I meet here all of the time with my mummy friends! They have a little gift shop too where you can find kids gifts 👌

This pub had a warm, friendly vibe and wood burning fire on. Upholstery throughout with wooden panelling on the walls.

I have been coming to this fab cafe since it opened with my children when they were younger with other mummies and have also used it as a business space. The staff are always really accommodating and since the pandemic have worked really hard to accommodate everyone they can whilst making everyone feel safe and welcome. The food is fantastic and we always recommend it to everyone. Even during a difficult time with the rules changing all the time they are still smiling and making everyone feel very welcome
