The Perseverance - Marylebone in City of London, Westminster

This is an absolutely lovely cocktail lounge not far from Marylebone Station. Lots of atmosphere (music, lighting and seating) perfect for a date or catching up with friends. The Dirty Martini was a perfect rendition. The Rose Cloud was delicious and refreshing. They have a few snacks available and are working on menu. We'll Be back.

Cute bar, promising menu, service was patchy but it seemed they were doing their best. In an area with no other bars this is pretty good

Very low key vibes, chill lounge situation. Took them 20+ min to create three cocktails for our group when our drinks were the only ones they were working on. The drinks were awful, watered down, and just not worth it.

Turned up for our booking at 3pm on Sunday (also clarified by opening hours listed on Google here) and no one was in. No lights on. Door locked. Rubbish out the front. Proper closed. Waited until 3:15pm. What happened?!

No jazz this evening, but the Perseverance still impressed with fabulous cocktails and a super chill vibe.

WORST BAR - AVOID : 30 of us celebrated one of my friends' birthday in this bar earlier this month and we came ot realise that we had been charged 20-30% service charges on ALL of our drinks the all night without asking. Two cocktails were coming at £38 !!!! Just ridiculous. Then my friend was charged a crazy amount of money (£500) for 3 very small bites of food per person - not even good. Just avoid , they're thiefs

We had a great night - live music, super friendly and accommodating staff, nice wine. It was not noisy so we could actually hear each other. Overall amazing experience.

Gorgeous decor, extremely friendly bar staff, and the best dirty martini I’ve had in years. Perfect for drinks near Marylebone station if you’ve got a train to wait for and don’t want to frequent the grimy station pub. Recommend.

Absolutely fell in love with this place, as it was our first stop in London!! The aesthetic is so giving and pleasing! Pablo is so welcoming and is an expert as an mixologist! His drinks are absolutely fire! He asked to pick a number 1-995 from a cocktail book, for a surprise drink! That drink ended up being the BEST drink and reminded me of home! Thank you for being so generous with your hospitality!! Great spot! 10/10 recommended!

Amazing hidden gem tucked away on a quiet street in Marleybone. Cheaper and better cocktails than the Mirror bar just a couple blocks over at the Landscape. Must visit!

Really lovely bar, just a short walk from Marleybone station, recently refurbished with a quirky speakeasy feel. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff on all drinks and cocktails, would definitely recommend, shame I forgot to take photos!

Changed Hands? We came here after having been recommended. The place was virtually empty on a Friday evening and completely lacking in atmosphere. The drinks menu was extremely limited with only a handful of cocktails on offer and some of them were unavailable and the staff appeared uninterested. Very disappointed.

Great spot for drinks. Started an evening here and it was the perfect place for a few pre-dinner delicious cocktails. The glassware was excellent, the drinks well made and some tasty complimentary nuts were a bonus. The service was quick and the atmosphere felt cosy and nicely lit on a dark autumn evening. We had plans for dinner so headed off after a couple of drinks but would happily of stayed all evening.

The place is not exactly what is described below. In fact, it has changed ownership as they informed us there and therefore, they changed the menu without updating it on the website. Our experience was that we spent time deciding on drinks that they didn't exist and also, we ordered 1 cheese board and they brought us two big ones. Out of kindness we accepted both but their side, they didn't have the kindness to offer at least a discount for the second board and on top, one of the cheese tasted really bad like it was expired. I don't want to mention that it was an overpriced night. I don't recommend the place, it disappointed me and this is one of the rare times that I give such a bad review.

Unfortunately this place has changed hands (Nov 22). Tried tonight and the cocktails were terrible. No more happy hour (although still on website). One of our cocktails had missing ingredients, and was served over ice when it should not be. I hope it picks up but had to update this previous 5 star review. (Original below) A great new(ish) addition to North Marylebone. The cocktails are made with experience, skill and passion. The menu range shows innovation but the team can also make you all the classics or even something bespoke, just tell them what you like. Plus if you fancy something different they also do cocktail classes.

Absolutely amazing experience I went here on my birthday and it was beautiful the food was really good and as for the staff Absolutely beautiful the manager was really kind I told him about my taste pallet due to it being weird and he knew exactly what to bring me when it came to food and drinks I would definitely recommend the perseverance to everyone at least go for the posh experience. Thank you to the team for making my birthday a birthday I won't ever forget 💗

Excellent date night venue. The bar snacks aren't the best but the cocktails more than make up for it!

The place style and environment was really nice. However, the jazz night was disappointing to say the least. Me and my friends purchased tickets to the show and when we came there found out it was an open space with noone asking for entry fee. The jazz singer had a very poor performance (first time, I was at a bad jazz performance) and we left after 30 minutes.

This was a great little find whilst wandering around the quaint streets of Marylebone. It is really inviting from the outside, and delightful once you step inside. The team were very welcoming, friendly, and couldn’t do more to make me feel valued. Will return most certainly.

Came here for the Jazz Saturday night, the atmosphere is great, the staff are nice. Will definitely come back another time for more live music!

What an experience! My partner and I had a whisky experience booked here and we could not have asked for a better evening! David, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about whisky and will keep you entertained for hours. Beautiful venue, excellent prices and the snacks are tasty too! What a well kept secret in Marylebone! We will definitely be back and recommend to anyone who wants a lovely night out!

I can highly recommend the Whisky Tasting at the Perseverance. The host David was excellent and took his time to explain the different whiskies that we tasted. And the whisky was great! A really enjoyable and memorable evening.

Found this place via Google reviews, after having dinner with friends in the area. It's certainly a little hidden gem! The staff were delightful, drinks were pleasant, the atmosphere and music were lovely! The singer for the night sang "happy birthday" to me which was sweet and I adored the birthday cocktail surprise, that the bartender presented as a gift. As the night went on, it was quite stuffy, so I wish the place had air con. Other than that, overall good vibes!

David and The Perseverance team hosted our wedding reception and we have to admit, it was flawless! From the moment we reached out to a couple of days after, they were always on top of everything and had it all handled. They made sure we had food that was adequate for celiacs, vegans, and meat lovers. Our guests could not get enough of their coronation chicken! The cocktails were amazing, and their flexibility and creativity for mocktails was a 5 star experience! They helped us make up our mind regarding canapés and reached out to the jazz band we wanted to hire (on their recommendation, and they were incredible!!). You guys were amazing and made a very special day even more special and smooth as can be! We might have to host some more parties there!!

We recently hired The Perseverance for a post-wedding party. David and his team looked after every little detail and ensured all our guests had a great time! They were so flexible and friendly from the start, helping us create a bespoke drinks and canapés menu. Popped in for a cocktail or two on the hottest day in history. Had a quick pint to cool down then had my favourite cocktail - the gimlet. The man at the bar (the owner?) then served me a cocktail I’d never had (I asked him to surprise me - always a risk). One “bitter sweet symphony” later and this is my favourite cocktail bar around here (albeit it’s the only one I’ve tried). Lovely place. Friendly man behind the bar - knows all the classics and very knowledgeable. I can hear him know telling other patrons about all the drinks. Well recommended. I think I’ll be here tomorrow and the next day too.

What an incredible cocktail bar. Owner David pits his heart and soul into the place and he deserves to succeed. We will be back when we are in London. His Singapore Sling and Espresso Martini were superb.

Great place for a cocktail. The staff is friendly and take their art seriously. There is a huge variety of exquisite and delicious drinks. Their long list of tonics is fun to sample. Definatly give it a try.

This place is a gem just by Marylebone station. Took my mother here for a whisky tasting which was absolutely fantastic. Excellent variety of Scottish whiskies & the cocktails which we had afterwards were superb. Staff were outstanding - very impressed and glad we stumbled across this venue.

A true local gem of Marylebone! There’s not many great places that side of the Marylebone Rd. But Perseverance truly shines! They’ve got amazing cocktails, fantastic wine, and an amazing chat! Keep an eye on events - they do a lot of things - from jazz gigs to cocktail making lessons.

This place is a hidden gem and only a minute's walk from Marylebone station. We were so glad we stumbled across it - happened to have live music on when we went. Chilled and cosy vibes. Drinks were superb too with a genuinely knowledgeable bartender - try the Kentucky Butter!

Fantastic Martini Masterclass. Very friendly, welcoming and deliciously crafted Martinis including a Martinez, Gibson and Dirty Martini. Will definitely be returning for a night of cocktails soon.

I’ve visited this cocktail bar multiple times now. The staff are very friendly and attentive. You also get a free welcome drink which is nice! They have very good stock of alcohol and wines. The platters are also delicious! Highly recommended of you’re in the area! Oh and defo try Kentucky butter cocktail YUM!!!

Fantastic makeover from a typical no frills local neighborhood pub into a new intimate eclectic cocktail lounge with a fantastic selection of whiskies as well! Planning to be a regular from now on. David and Mihailis were wonderful welcoming hosts and they informed that there would be live music nights in the future!

We came in one Saturday night a couple of weeks ago. The cocktails were amazing. Really lovely place, excellent service, and great atmosphere. Dogs are welcome so long as they are well behaved so we took our little dog Martha along and really enjoyed a rare night out without worrying about getting back early to let her out. Can't wait to come back on live music nights. Little gem of a place.

Finally a place in London I can rely on for a perfect evening! I arrived to a friendly bartender who helped choose the perfect cocktail. As the evening went we got a nice charcuterie board and then a little surprise by a bartender; an impromptu cocktail which I absolutely loved (got 2 more later, it was so good). The bar is very chic and located at the perfect spot to avoid the craziness of Central London despite being in it. Can’t wait to return already!
