Mr Fogg's Tavern in City of London, Westminster

Highly advertised Bloody Mary not available, beer lukewarm and food was unfortunately not really good tasting. Mass before class

We were looking for a place to get a gin drink, and Mr Foggs did not disappoint. The cocktails were good, and the Sunday fish and chips special was delicious. Some of the best chips I've ever had.

We booked a table with my sisters this Monday, and we thought the place was magnificent! The decor, from floor to ceiling, as well as the atmosphere and the service team, everything was perfect! We had a wonderful time. Thank you again for your hospitality! We won't hesitate to come back if we're ever in London again :)

Amazing wibe! They also have very good tasting non-alcoholic drinks. Would recommend!

Great vibe and atmosphere!! It was so whimsical, we had a great time. It was super busy, we were put at a small table in the walk way that actually made it hard to enjoy the experience. We had great food and they have great mocktails. Took a while to get served and noticed because of all the larger groups, but overall great space. recommend getting a reservation though!

Great little place for a quick bite or a pint. Great for tourists. Tried their sunday roast and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size and quality of the food. A little on the expensive side but you’re in London so you kind of expect those prices.

Located right in the heart of the lively St Martin's Lane / Theater District, this Victorian-style pub has a lot to offer: good cocktails & ales, live piano music and cool décor with dark wood paneling. It is one of the group of eleven locations in London, all of which are named after the fictional character Phileas Fogg ("Around the World in 80 Days") and have different focuses - for example, the bar "Mr Fogg's Gin Parlor" is located directly above the tavern. The team always proves to be totally charming and helpful - as is the case at all of the group's locations. The only thing I don't like is the food served here, as everything is usually very greasy. But for a few drinks before a show, I think this atmospheric tavern is perfect. Be sure to reserve! Here's to you!

Delicious food, friendly staff and great atmosphere with all the decorations. Seems authentic and not just a tourist trap. A bit pricey but I guess it's the location.

Popped in on Friday night hadn’t booked a table as didn’t realise we had to. Staff were very accommodating and lovely, definitely going back great atmosphere

A great central location , popular with tourists , welcoming and although when I visited it was busy, most tables were reserved. No sign of cask ale but good selection of keg . London prices £7.50 a pint on my visit .

Made a booking for Thursday night cocktails and received really poor service. They continually attempted to bring us drinks that weren’t ours and then seemed annoyed when we told them it was the wrong table. They gave us a really short notice period for when they needed the table back and were quite rude about it. Then as we waited for our friend to return from the bathroom, they started seating the new customers while we still had 5 mins left at the table! Overall our experience with the service was really poor.

We have been on the first floor, gin cocktails bar. Very nice atmosphere, amazing service, ask for Lara she knows evrything. Very good gin!

Mr Fogg's tavern is amazing. I spent both of my trips there upstairs in the gin parlor. The staff is attentive and the management is great. Good drinks and an amazing selection of gins from the past. Look at the list of old gins they have available. When these are gone, they likely will be gone forever. I suggest the Gilbeys from 1960, neat. Great experience and i will be back.

Aesthetically pleasing, great cocktails but, order food only to be told they change their menu for dinner but don’t offer dinner items only snacks sooo….that’s a major downfall

If you are a GIN lover, head to the upstairs cocktail bar. Lara is a perfect connoisseur, and she will find the perfect GIN match for you. A new favourite for me!

Quirky and eccentric pub. Bartender was friendly. Was quite busy when we were there, not a huge space and can feel a little cramped. Though, you can just look up and forget about all of that.

Excellent time at mr Foggs tavern, great cocktails, amazing service and great music and atmosphere worth the money. A special thanks to Lara who took time to make our date night special.

Fantastic pub tucked away in a busy part of town. Feels like you’ve travelled back in time whilst enjoying a pint, and probably travel further back in time after multiple pints. Awesome detail all around the gaff and the staff are very friendly, attentive people. Bravo

Quirky pub with loads of atmosphere. Major on the cocktails but also have a few beers on offer and wine. Can get busy and would recommend booking a table. Didn't eat here so cannot comment on the food.

The venue as most mr Fogg’s establishments is fantastic. However, the beef Sunday roast was well below par; some pieces were actually inedible so ended up leaving most of the meat on the plate. Disappointed

Reservamos una mesa para 6 para el almuerzo y estamos sentados en un lugar estrecho que sentó 5 en un empujón, pero no era lo suficientemente grande para 6. Preguntamos si podíamos levantar otra mesa y nos dijeron que no, les aconsejé que no aceptaran reservas para 6 si no podían acomodarlos. La camarera demasiado segura dijo que yo era la única persona que se quejó de esto y continuó. La tarta del día era cottage pie, la habíamos elegido especialmente porque a mi hijo le encanta la tarta y era su regalo de cumpleaños, pero no contaría la tarta de la semana. Mi hija pidió patatas fritas y se puso regular. Todo el asunto se sentía apretado y carente de profesionalidad. Entonces recibir una factura con casi £ 18 en cargo de servicio era de risa. Este lugar debe pegarse a las bebidas y tal vez a los aperitivos de bar, demasiado pequeño para la buena comida.

Wir kamen spontan rein. Genossen ein paar Drinks. Das Personal ist sehr nett, die Dame an der Bar top beim Cocktails mixen. Die Einrichtung ist originell und besonders die Damentoiletten sind klasse gemacht. Man kann auch gut essen - Sunday Roast! Wir kommen gerne wieder, auch wenn wir die Preise für die Cocktails überteuert fanden.

Not your ordinary pub. You come here for an immersive drink, at a time when a fast travel was a few days by boat. Incredible atmosphere, drinks a good and at a fair price. I definitely recommend if you're looking for something a bit unusual!

A full-of-character bar in Central London, very close to Leicester Square station. It’s famous for its gins, so I had a negroni.

Great pub with positive vibes, interesting decor and amazing staff. We had Amstel pints. Reasonable priced as well (£7). Will definitely come back.

A gin extravaganza. Not one for the cheap seats but the experience makes it worth splashing out on some unusual gins.

The beer was perfect, but all the tables were not vacated and even emptied were reserved. We had to drink standing. Though when we had left the reserved table still stayed vacated. It was so sad.

Just don't order the fish, you'll get a paper thin slice of cod with 95% batter for £20. Place is cool, nice antmosphere & environment and the staff are attentive.

The atmosphere of the shop is awesome but while we had a reservation Sunday night at 9 and wanted to eat we were never informed that the kitchen closes much earlier. Also, it said that the shop closes at 11 and they started collecting the tables from 9 while there were people.

Stopped in for a drink, mulled wine, so good! Highly recommended on a chilly day, it warmed me up...delicious! Bonus, lovely pub and staff!

Very rude personnel. They always make excuses about “health and safety”. Very bad cocktails.

So, picture this: you’ve reserved a table for 20:30 for the sing-along. You’re having the absolute best night. Drinks are flowing, and it feels like a highlight of your trip. Then the waiter comes to tell you that you need to give up your table because your reservation slot has ended. So, despite planning in advance and reserving for the sing-along, you’re left standing for the last half hour and no longer feel like continuing to drink, as you’re suddenly having a far less good time. That’s just so stupid; if people reserve for the sing-along, surely they should be allowed to have their table until it ends. 5/5 for the absolutely outstanding performer, 1/5 for the pub itself. A 1.5-hour time slot for a pub puts shame on the name of pubs. No one wants to watch a little more than half a show. There were other tables for walk-ins; personally, I would have seated the next reservation at one of those, rather than kicking out the people who reserved for the show. :( The pub is nice though and we enjoyed our drinks.

Don’t waste £33 next NYE, no space to sit as it’s so small and nothing is included for the price (not even a drink). You can find better. Would give 0 stars if I could.

This is an amazing place. The downstairs bar is fun and decorated with many vintage items. Lots of beers and, of course, gins available. But a reservation for the second floor Gin Parlor is a must. Fantastic choice of gin-based drinks elegantly presented.

Awful and expensive mulled wine (it’s Xmas so I went there) average French fries with disgusting cheap vinegary mayonnaise. Sluggish service beyond belief and they weren’t even super busy - just ambling around. All in all a crappy tourist trap and I shouldn’t have fallen for it

Que le dijeran continuamente que mucho tiempo teníamos para la mesa Esperar 29 minutos para ser servido Comida principal entregada con entrantes. . cuando lo vi pedí que la comida se quedara, me dijeron que no te preocupes nuestro error lo volveremos a cometer, no fue el pescado fue impactante, luego nos empujaron fuera de nuestra mesa, luego tuviste la osadía de cobrar un cargo por servicio BTW no dejaste claro que solo servirías un menú navideño en la reserva, ¡con todo, vellón al cliente!

Waste of time as the dont accept cash. Well they accept it, but can't guarantee that you will receive the correct change!! As they don't encourage cash. AVOID

Have not eaten only been there for drinks. It is the most enjoyable bar I've been to in London.

We came to London all the way from Canada to celebrate my birthday and decided to spend the birthday night in Mr Fogg's Tavern based on the great reviews. Let me tell you - my birthay was ruined there! The place was very crowded when we arrived at the time of our reservation, they had only 3 servants on the floor for almost 100 customers standing there shoulder to shoulder, tables not ready, bar counter full of dirty glasses. To serve new customers they were asking previous to leave the venue! We thought it was happening with people without reservations but experienced the same. They kept us waiting for a table then didn't come to take an order for good 50 mins, mixed orders with another table and, as soon as food finally arrived, a very rude waiter requested to leave cause they needed seats for the next reservations. She was stating right to our faces that reservations and kitchen were not her responsibility, she literally started moving the table from us. Can you imagine being kicked out of a venue on your birthday when your meals and drinks are not finished?

We were so excited to come here for dinner and enjoy the music and fun environment. On a positive we had a reservation and were seated right away! But after being seated no one came in to check on us. We had to flag down multiple wait staff to ask for drinks that then took a lengthy amount of time to get. I am a casual diner but this was to the point that other wait staff asked if we had even ordered. Next once we got our first round of drinks we had to again wave down staff to get food. Once food arrived we had 10 minutes to eat before we again were prompted by staff that we would have to check out. We knew upon making the reservation that there was a time limit to the table but after spending the majority of our time flagging down staff it was difficult to understand how the best service we had all night came after we were told to pay and leave. This place has such a fun energy and the food was solid. The staff was mediocre at best and definitely could have handled the situation with more class.

visited this absolutely charming place a few times for some fort roast lunch and let me tell you, I've thoroughly enjoyed it every single time!😍🍗 The bar staff are top-notch, utmost professional and polite. They're very attentive which adds that special touch to the experience.🍻👌 Absolutely a warm and cosy little place to sit back, relax, and savour a mouthwatering Sunday roast.🙌🍽 And when I say the portions, trust me when I say they are quite generous. Such a charming, quirky place! Roast dinner was delicious (as was the mulled wine!). Staff went above and beyond and we all had a thoroughly nice time! Highly recommend.

Decided to come here for my birthday with friends. The music was so loud we could barely hear each other speak. They took another reservation for my table at 9:30 on a sunday (with the place closing at 11) and decided to kick us out after barely 2 hours. Three people came at different time asking us to leave when time wasn’t even up. And in an effort to make us leave as quickly as possible the waiter charged us random amounts although we were indicating him which items we each took.

Fun place to stop by but really busy! Great if you’re looking for some fun holiday decor and good drinks.

Avoid this overpriced establishment that thinks it a lot better than it is. The reality is a themed based pub ..think expensive weathespoons - go through the least secret door decorated with modern day books that you can also easily access from the open door on the street The downstairs offered a mulled wine and general pub beverages....but if you decide - or if that decision is made for you because there is space upstairs - your choice of drinks change . I say choice. That choice is made for you. You are not allowed to have this upstairs as this is apparently a gin based cocktail bar. Bar staff go up and down the stairs but drinks must be segregated. You can order one vodka cocktail so not just gin. Apparently this is because it is a speakeasy...do they serve moonshine then? Drink prices are very not prohibition era ..at least £15 for a cocktail All,the bottles of gin and fancy writing does not a cool bar make. This is a tourist chain pub with an attitude problem. Go down the road to some delightful old fashioned delightful pubs or some truly cool bars

Mr Fogg’s a must if you are in London. We went for Sunday roast, highly recommend to make Reservation. The food was delicious, the service was super and the decor and ambiance was great. We liked it so much that we tried 2 other locations.

We had a late dinner here and stayed the rest of the evening enjoying ourselves with good drinks. Old and cool interior. Incredibly good atmosphere and pleasant staff, which made the evening even better. The music was loud enough, so you could also talk together without shouting at each other, we were a group of 6.

Charged a service charge without knowing. Sneaky and won't be going there again. Overpriced

We had a table for three booked at Mr Fogg’s for drinks and food today (23/11) for 1:30. As we were close by at midday we called in to ask if it would be possible to have drinks beforehand, although we understood it may not be possible. We were greeted by a woman with dark hair who, whilst coughing violently into her hands the while time, told us it would not be. The place was perhaps half-full at this time. We returned at 1:30 looking forward to our drinks and food. At this point, the place was packed. We were kept waiting while discussions took place among members of staff apparently at a loss as to how to deal with our booking, until another female member of staff eventually led us to a tiny, recently vacated, table for two. When we pointed out that there was only room for two, the staff member dragged a stool from another table and told us this was their normal table for three. Either this was an unashamed untruth, or Mr Fogg’s needs to rethink their seating arrangements. Staff were dismissive, chaotic, and downright rude - we had looked forward to this experience, planned and booked in advance, but felt we had no choice but to leave without eating. We understand that this is the busiest time of year, and would have appreciated an explanation that this perhaps had meant no suitable table was available - but instead were made to feel we were not worth staff’s efforts, time or attention. Such a shame as it is an atmospheric and quirkily attractive pub - but I would avoid like the plague. 0/5.

We visited for the first time yesterday. The food was delicious, the service was excellent- a male waiter with longish brown blonde hair served us, he was very kind and attentive. The tavern is very warming. We had a lovely experience.

Pub in the center of London between Charing Cross and Covent Garden. "Old British" setting which fully recalls the atmosphere of Jules Verne's book to which the name of the pub refers. Fast service. Friendly, helpful and competent staff. Excellent beers, adequate food.

Value 1/5 £9.50 for a 2/3rds full cup of mulled wine. Price would be almost justified for the cosu atmosphere, but they should either downsize the cups or be more generous with the pours so it doesn't feel so stingy. Taste 2/5 more like sangria than mulled wine. Think they were counting on it being spiked with liquor, but having the 'standard' wine felt more like punch than a drink at a pub. Definitely not worth the hype.

A great option for lunch or happy hour in a very English atmosphere in the Covent Garden area. I tried a snack that was practically fish and chips and it was wonderful. Very kind service and very pleasant atmosphere.

Meh. Nothing special. The Sunday Roast was the worst we've been served. To their credit, we weren't charged for this. The draft beer wasn't cold. The air temperature was colder than my beer. Disappointed.

Liten, fullstappet bar. Vi hadde bestilt bord for to, og fikk det som var nærmest inngang og do. Var i veien uansett hvor vi satt eller sto da vi kom, så ikke så hyggelig som vi hadde håpet på. Maten var grei, men fisken litt smakløs. Men morsomt om du orker en trang engelsk pub en ettermiddag i London

Cocktails are fantastic, the old-time musical with Carradine's cockney singalong on a Thursday night is brilliant. Fantastic atmosphere, brilliant music, brilliant crowd. Not sure that they do food so can't comment on that.

Amazing place to stop in for a crafted drink and to let your sassy husband rest after a day of walking through London.

We came for the Tom Carradine Sing Along. The crowd was international (French, Turkisch, USA, Austrian (we),..) We liked the cheerful time during the sing along. We ate marvellous Fish and Chips, had good Ale and Ciders. All in all a super experience for our first night during our stay.
