Mr Fogg's Tavern in City of London, Westminster

Very quiet and very good beer. Nice atmosphere, so nice should have had more people in it. May have been time we were there.

Lovely pub with tones of character. Upstairs there is a gin parlour where you can sample 200 gins! We stayed downstairs sipping our ales by the bar. Music in the background is additional bonus to the atmosphere. If you are around Covent Garden, it is great to pop over.

Really fun pub we'll worth popping in for a pint food looked great although we didn't stay for food. Definitely worth a visit seems very popular.

Inventive drinks. Quirky fun atmosphere. Loved the Padron peppers. Star of the show was our awesome server, Sam, who was just delightfully welcoming, zipped around handling a bustling crowd, and just elevated our fun. Thanks for a spiffy evening.

Enjoyed the decor and atmosphere

As Londoners we probably should have known better and my poor review looks like it’s going to stand out like a sore thumb but it is was an ok experience which turned sour quickly. We were going to the theatre across the road so were pleased we could get a seat outside so close to the theatre. My husband went to the bar and bought a pint and an Aperol spritz. £20.40, less than 250ml without ice. I had asked for no ice so when he came back with a less than half full small glass I asked the server outside for another. His pint went faster slower than my two drinks so I decided on a straight glass of Prosecco so in total my “normal” sized Aperol cost £28.60 for a large drink but not massive drink. I was an aware of how much we’d spent and though I wasn’t over the moon I knew and willing ordered more, but, my husband had pointed out that the 2nd drink I paid for outside had had a 10/12% charge added which he had declined when at the bar getting drinks. So, I asked for mine to be removed, the waiter loudly said “Jesus!” And walked off he came back several mins later with a new amount on the screen (this detail maters later). I said I’d rather pay inside and was hoping to have a better interaction with the manager and explain that a “gratuity” is called that for a reason and it’s down to me as a customer to decide whether that is justified. I asked to speak to manager and he ignored me, then went to another customer (felt deliberate), when I spoke to him and explained the surely the customer should be asked or at least given the option, he was not at all interested in the fact that the server had been quiet rude or anything I had to say. It was very much, go away. I’m really please so many people have great experiences in Mr Fogg’s I would stick to pints but I won’t be going back (which I’m sure doesn’t bother the management) but I felt Royally ripped off and service was unnecessarily rude just because we didn’t comply. We were helpful pleasant customers because we both work in hospitality so know how to value people who are serving you, we are never rude or unpleasant. Please do better. “JESUS”!

Two weeks ago, four of us went there. We put our names down for the upstairs section and waited outside for our turn. As our turn was approaching, we stood up and headed towards the door, but one of my friends accidentally broke a beer glass. Despite our turn arriving, we were not allowed inside. The reason given was that my friend broke a glass , which was accedientially happened. My friend wasn’t drunk, it was just a crowded area where the glass was accidentally broken. We immediately apologized and offered to cover the cost of the damage ourselves. After waiting for 40 minutes for nothing, we were refused entry just because of an accidental glass breakage. The place was extremely rude and unaccommodating.

Staff were fab very welcoming and friendly! It was my sisters birthday and when they heard us talking about it they gave us a gin shot and a birthday card! Fish Fryday was great and two of us had the sandwiches! Good size portions and we had a great time!

Small pub with lots of decoration. It is worth knowing it, it is very beautiful inside and out. We tried fish and chips and it was very delicious.

Really good experience. The food was great, and the service was on point. Albeit it felt rushed and you were squeezed onto a small table. Which I'll add, the last people were chased off so we could sit down... It just needs perfecting a little bit more. It's still definitely worth a visit.

Great (but also expensive) cocktails and a very lively atmosphere. We didn’t have much help from the people working there if we had to wait for a table or just sit. In the end, we just sat because everyone was doing so, and we got the menus. No explanations, no suggestions, no welcomes. It didn’t take much for the cocktail to arrive though which was nice.

Great experience! Around the world in 80 days OR a couple of drinks! My friend group traveled from London to Hong Kong to Suez and back again. Loved the London drink! That was my favorite! Fun decorations too. Great back story. Be sure to book in advance! Then thru the secret bookcase door and off to new adventures!

We came across this charming quirky pub while walking around Covent Garden. It is small but has a great atmosphere. The fish and chips were excellent, light crispy batter and chunky chips. It might be a bit expensive but no more so than the rest of London.

I went last night for only my second time to mr foggs tavern and it has quickly become my favourite bar in london ! having come once before with one other friend for Tom Carradine’s cockney-sing-along I decided to come back for my birthday and I was not disappointed, it was the best birthday in recent memory ! Tom went above and beyond remembering my name and mentioning me throughout the show as well getting the room to sing me happy birthday. He is a fantastic performer with buckets of charm and the show is an absolute must go to in london ! Only one of the large group I was with was from london and Tom read the room and combined cockney classics with songs that everyone would know ! The venue itself is beautifully decorated with lots of character and the staff are super friendly and helpful.Will be bringing all visiting friends here from now on and couldn’t recommend this enough so anyone who wants to have a brilliant night out in central london.

Absolutely gorgeous little pub in the heart of the West End and theatre land. The wine was lovely and the chunky chips delicious, albeit ungenerous portions. Only marking it down as touristy expensive.

I'm so lucky to have a seat because it is very super busy now. There are mountain people mountain sea and hudrund people drink and eat in the tavern so you had better to book in advance. Anyway it is a good place to experience British culture. The beer taste so good so you can't have any meal without beer but if you are afraid of alcohol then you can try a pint of shady which makes you happy.

The atmosphere, service, food and drink were all incredible. When I wasn't sure what to drink, I told the server what sort of drinks I liked and she recommended something that really suited me. Will definitely go back again.

Several things to say. 👉🏻Atmosphere 10 points. 👉🏻 The food I tried was the potatoes and the battered chicken dish. Everything is delicious except that the chicken batter is MEGA SPICY 🌶️. They have to notify beforehand or put it in the letter. There are many people who don't eat spicy! 👉🏻 Few food options. 👉🏻 Bad attention. You sit down and they don't bring you the food menu, only the drinks menu. I hadn't finished the drink before the girl came to take our plates and lift everything because they wanted to change the table. Everything is fine but it doesn't work. I left with the food still in my throat. 👉🏻 They don't bring you anything to snack on with your beer. 👉🏻 Small food plates. 👉🏻 The food is fast food (nuggets and potatoes) but it takes a LONG time to bring it. 👉🏻 Price quality ok. Approximately 20 pounds per person.

Stopped for a pint each . Couple . No food . Busy no tables so just ordered a pint each at the bar . Paid by card . Then noticed they had added EXTRA onto the card auth . Queried it - mistake BUT was never given the option to add extra to the bill . BEWARE when getting your bill. Said it was a mistake but wasn't given the the option on the card reader at the time . Might catch the Tourists out -but they won't catch the British out ! Naughty - nice little earner. Wouldn't mind - we didn't even have a table and had to stand as we drank !!!!

Poor attitude of staff particularly management. Very rude and unwelcoming which is a pity as we are local to area and manage a large hotel. Will not return or recommend to guests.

One of the oldest taverns in London. Very stylish and atmospheric. You can sit both inside and outside. The place is passable, so you need to close your eyes to the tables and chairs that are not entirely clean - the staff simply does not have time to wipe them thoroughly. Well, this is not a restaurant, of course. I liked the Sunday roast, a real English dish, simple and satisfying. Just a couple of pints of beer!

Absolutely stunning pub on St Martin's Lane, the outside of the pubs covered in flowers, the quirky interior is amazing and the staff were all dressed as beer maids, what a wonderful place to grab a Guinness & the best selection of Gin & tonics. Highly recommend.

Felt like I'm in one of 1940's movie era and sipping a whiskey and talking serious business with my friends.

Made reservation for drinks upstairs. All of the drinks were great. They told me that they couldn’t make me a certain drink because they were out of the ingredients but then a little later I saw them make my drink for another person sitting by me. Maybe it was a mix up! But other than that, everything was splendid.

Very poorly organized, we sat down in a period of 15 minutes at 2 different tables and magically they were always reserved. When we went to consult with him Man from the galley at the entrance literally told us: where is free you can sit. And when it. We made them come and say it's reserved and there was no sign or anything. The truth is that we left a disgraceful service with extra expensive prices. We walked 50 meters and found a bar with spectacular $5 drinks and not this $15 garbage. I WILL NEVER BE BACK

I only had one pint, 7.5 pounds but at least with the uniqueness of the place you offset the cost a little.

It’s been a week since I was here and I couldn’t shift it from my mind. For the location it is in and the quality of the food and drinks the price here is amazing. On top of that, the service is impeccable even when it was packed. I would write an essay but I’ll stop here.

A fun pub, excellent theming inside with a background of 1930/40s music playing. Table service is available but you will be charged a service charge even if it’s just for drinks so you are better placing your order at the bar. The bar is quite small so a queue forms out of the door. Bar service is quite slow due to all the cocktail making. A selection of beers on daft but expensive at £7.50 for a pint. Overall a good place to have a few drinks as it’s quite unique and a different vibe to all the other options in the area.

I visited for a Sunday Roast and was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were both friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, with perfectly cooked meats and all the classic trimmings. A special mention to the Pirate Cocktail—it’s an absolute must-try! 🏴‍☠️ A big shoutout to the barman for crafting such a memorable drink. Highly recommend! ✨

What an absolute ripoff- 3 single gin and tonics ordered at the bar £38! I laughter because I thought he said £28 - then when he said £38 we drank and left. You wonder why pubs are closing at the rate of knots. Woman collected our glasses and asked if we wanted another round - so if we had had doubles line we sometimes do…….. £76 for 3 drinks / dont take the Pi**.

I'm sorry I love the place as in looks and feel but to charge £12 for a shot of sailor Jerry's or makers mark is scandalous and then have the cheek to put a service charge on I know it's London but still this is why pubs are going under cause one day people will say bollox to that cocktails in roof top bars are cheaper

Lugar Curioso. Hermoso entorno decorado te sentís en 1700. Muy bien la bebida. Floja la comida. Vengan por unos tragos y unas draft beers. No tiene sentido comer acá. Muy buena atención tanto del portero como del mozo. Recomendable!

We only stayed for one drink, it was reasonable

We arrived for our booked table today and a staff member outside the front door directed us inside and said one of the other team members would get us seated. We waited in front of the bar for five minutes and no other staff member acknowledged us despite their only being three tables seated inside. We asked a passing waiter if we could check in and he did seat us. We ordered our food and drinks the pirate punch I ordered was good with lots of flavour. The chicken Sunday roast however was bad. The chicken was overcooked and their was no stuffing on the plate which was advertised on the menu. The gravy was thin and lacked taste, most of the plate was just boiled shredded cabbage and you had to pay an extra pound if you wanted a Yorkshire pudding. When your already paying £22 that seems a bit stingy even for central London. The food did however come our fast! At no point did a staff member come over to us to check how the food was which is usual at a table service venue and we didn't see one to flag down. Lastly another table came in who had booked and it turned out we had been seated at their table by mistake. The I assume manager, a lady with black hair had a discussion with another staff member on why we were on that table right next to our table.....and it's a small venue..... while the other booking stood behind them looking at us. This was very awkward as the manager assumed we were a walk in table when we had in fact booked. A younger waitress came over and asked us if we had booked. I pointed my name out on the ipad booking list and she proceeded to say oh we sat you at the wrong table by mistake, we felt like they wanted us to move tables but didn't outright say it? The other booking sat at the table opposite which was identical to ours. It was a bad experience from start to finish we were there 45 mins in total. Service charge was added to the bill which we paid mainly because we felt bad for the staff having to work in such a badly ran workplace! I sadly won't be recommending this to friends even if the decoration was cool!

Albert came through with some amazing music. Made my night outstanding and thrilling. Benedetta then blew me out the water with her humour and kindness. What an amazing place!!

Beer was around 8 pounds, as I could see from the display of the payment terminal, but my credit card was debited with around 9 pounds, thus the waiter must have added a tip which I did not consent to. I would never tip just for being served an (overpriced) beer.

Any Mr Fogg’s is a feast for the eyes & senses. Love the different atmosphere of each establishment. This one does fantastic punch & pub food type fare. I loved the cosy feel of the place & all the decor dotted around with items even hanging from the ceiling.

Ive alwayed wanted to try Mr Foggs so popped in to after seeing a show. No tables available outside but we soon found a table inside and we're quickly shown a drinks menu. Cocktails were promptly brought to the table. We were told that the table would be needed in 1 hour but that was fine. Nice atmosphere and waiter took a photo for me.

Mr Fogg's Tavern is a quirky and charming pub located in the heart of London. I only had the chance to enjoy one drink during my visit, but the atmosphere was inviting and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. While I didn't have a chance to try any of the food, the dishes I saw being served to other patrons looked delicious. Based on my brief but enjoyable experience, I would definitely recommend stopping by Mr Fogg's Tavern for a drink and perhaps a bite to eat if you have the time.

A special and magical authentic British bar. Good atmosphere, good service, good cocktails. There is an entrance floor with television and music, and there is another floor where a menu of gin only is served. There is no music/television, a kind of living room... really charming!

Amazing place for cocktails. Please do the world a favour and have beer somewhere else! Half of the crowd thad shows up here get standard IPAs which you can get at 90% pubs in london. This is an amazing cocktail bar, visit here for cocktails and nibbles.

When I came to London for a meeting six years ago, my British colleague introduced Mr. Fogg's Tavern, a gin bar located on St. Martin's Lane. It claims to have 200 types of gin for you to choose from. I happened to go to a theater nearby yesterday and stopped by before the show. Go have a few drinks. Upstairs and downstairs, two atmospheres. Downstairs, there is a general bar, where you can also order food. Upstairs, also named Club Bar, is antique and the service staff is very professional. They will suggest different gin options according to your preferences, and then let the bartender make the mixture. If you go for the gin, the second floor is where you can find treasures. Heavy. I ordered the Dry Martini to start, which was smooth and considerate. I wanted to try the White Negroni, but they declined this type of modified classic cocktail and suggested ordering Venice instead. Well, it’s better to obey orders than to be respectful, so I drank it and was convinced. The most surprising thing was the third cup. It had a large array of cups, unique decorations, and square ice cubes. It turned out to be Gin Tonic. In the past, I always regarded this cocktail as a basic safe brand, but now it is a powerful cocktail. He simply skipped it, but he didn't expect that he could turn around beautifully.

Absolute piss take, got dragged in and told that we could stay as long as we could and that we didnt have to go to the bar then got a sneaky table service and told we had 30 minutes to drink up. Ridiculous.

The Pub was clean and the staff were friendly. I travel very frequently in Europe for work and this has to be quite possibly the most expensive sandwich l have ever eaten £12 containing roast vegetables and hummus. Myself and my colleague had a pint of non alcoholic beer and a pint of pale ale and paid in total £29

Reasonable cocktails are not prohibitively expensive. However, it is not the most comfortable place to spend an extended period of time in.

I don't normally write reviews, but having found this absolute gem, and then had such fabulous service, I wanted to take the time to share my positive comments. A great atmosphere, good beers and something a little different. I've also tried the Cockney Singalong on Thurs nights, which is stuff of legend! Last night, were were a late arrival but Ricky still welcomed us with open arms (and even bought us a drink!!). Proper old school pub values. A great front person, good drinks and a fun and friendly atmosphere

As it opens late, it gets more and more crowded, but the atmosphere is cool. Drinks are generally satisfactory.
