House hunting in the area, and I already knew from previous visits this pub was a good ‘un. I seek out “proper” bars with real people serving real ale. The Perch Rock serves Timmy Taylor’s and has a real country pub atmosphere in the heart of the village of New Brighton, an up and coming area with obvious signs of investment everywhere. But the really special thing about our visit here was the lovely Georgina who gave us complimentary fizz when we heard our offer on the house we wanted was accepted as we sat in the lounge. Really lovely surprise and as a result we have our new “local” already!

Was refused sparkling water by a woman behind the bar and accused of pouring my own alcohol in it! I wanted a sparkling water as I felt drunk and wanted to pace myself but got a barrel of abuse on asking. Terrible behaviour… imagine an alcoholic going out and getting refused a soft drink! I was not pouring my own drinks and neither was anyone I was with! I am not a youngster either! Not that that should matter. I did send a complaint to the pub via Facebook but it was ignored! When I asked for the manager at the time of the incident I was told they are not here.

Located down Grosvenor Road just off Victoria Road in the Victoria Quarter is The Perch Rock Pub ,a pub I always enjoy visiting whenever I am over this side of the River Mersey. This is a multi roomed pub, wonderful pubby decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its as traditional a pub you will find in this area. My twin brother Stephen and I track and traced and sanitised our hands we were allocated a table were we ordered a dark fruit cider each, these were served after a little bit of a wait but the wait was worth it. The cider served here was excellent, iced cold and sparkling, on a really hot afternoon it certainly cut through the thirst, it was just what we needed to cool down . This is a seriously popular pub, social distancing being adhered to but it was still full with a great vibe. We really enjoyed our ciders in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and as on every other visit to The Perch Rock Pub we had a great time. The Perch Rock Pub is easy to locate along Grosvenor Road, an area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and a vibrant area of New Brighton. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 11am till Midnight. A wonderful pub,if you're in the area most definitely well worth checking out.

The Perch Rock Hotel is a traditional old pub and one of many pubs and bars on Victoria road and one of the busiest we visited on a day trip to New Brighton. An historic pub built in the 1920's with an original interior and fantastic seating options throughout the whole pubs interior. We have visited here lots of times over the years but this was the busiest I have ever seen this pub. On entry we gave our track and trace details and took our seat in one of the back rooms as most of the outside seating was taken. As it was so busy it took a while to be served but hats off to the staff who were run off there feet but when they got to us and they took our order it arrived quickly. When here we had a glass of fruit cider from the Strongebow brewery which was really refreshing on a roasting hot day and well priced. The Perch Rock Hotel is a superb old pub and is well worth a visit and very easy to find from Cressingham road bus stop walk down Rowson street and take a left onto Victoria road a few minute's walk.(This is my second review of the Perch Rock Hotel). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.00-00.00. Friday-Saturday-11.00.00-01.00. Sunday-11.00-00.00. Hours May Differ From Above Due To The Covid 19 Restrictions. Nearest Bus Stop. My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around The Victoria Quarter of New Brighton when we decided to drop into The Perch Rock Pub and what a very pleasant time we had. This is a traditional pub, a lovely interior, its a narrow pub,the main room is dominated by a solid wood serving bar, theres a side snug room, great decor and furnishings, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a good pub to unwind in. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff who took our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system, we then sanitised our hands and ordered a guinness each, these were poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My guinness was absolutely amazing, a thick, creamy and most importantly iced cold cider bursting with taste, very easy to drink, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew. We really enjoyed our guinness in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Perch Rock Pub is easy to locate along Grosvenor Road. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 11am till Midnight. Friday & Saturday, 11am till 1am. Sunday, 11am till Midnight. A great pub, well worth a visit if you're in the area.
