Most amazing breakfast you could have anywhere. Love that you can switch ingredients. Great choice of cakes and icecream too!

It is as they say, what it says on the can. Well priced, decent food in a quite basic but clean setting. If you want good value try it. Oh! Try the multi coloured icecream. An experience in its own right!

A wonderfully ordinary café with traditional hearty food and all-day breakfast options. A great place to stop after a walk on the nearby beach.

It was all good..we had coffee and cake which was a shade over 15 quid for the two of us ...the cake was huge!

What a lovely cafe! I was taken back to find it so busy on a Friday afternoon but when I saw the great choices of baked goods, the affordable breakfast menu behind the counter accompanied by the smiling faces there too. Well it made perfect sense! Me and my friend enjoyed some delicious treats and drinks and even had some friendly chatter to the people next to us, being dog friendly too is a huge bonus to me! I'll be returning that's for sure for another earl grey and delicious cherry bun.

Normally try somewhere different for breakfast each week and this week was the Penguin cafe. The cafe had a really nice atmosphere, staff were great, food served quickly and great quality. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely home made cakes, generous portions. Coffee was really nice. Main menu and specials looked tempting, and adjacent tables' food all looked really nice. Internet was limited; too many people trying to log on concurrently. Good location opposite the promenade. Traditional British seaside front and cafe. Very busy on a New Year's Eve afternoon.

I've been here for 15 years and always makes the best breakfast. shame about price of the emperor breakfast going from just under £10 to £13 now but its worth it

The review that says “the finest cafe anywhere in the gosport-fareham-lee area” perhaps tells you more about the cafes in the area than the cafe itself. The penguin chocolate sprinkles on the cappuccino are nice, the misadvertising of prices less so. Food good.

My sister visits here quite regularly so it was a nice treat from her to bring me here for breakfast. Food was great came out hot and coffee was excellent. The view across the sea was lovely too

Great service and great 'big breakfast'! Only switched to the Penguin recently but so far so good. Food all cooked fresh and team happy to switch items to make sure you get what you need! Enjoying the atmosphere and great service!

Just happened to be passing on a very wet Sunday afternoon. Stopped for a cup of tea and got drawn in by the delicious looking homemade cakes! They did not disappoint and nor did the tea, best cuppa I have had in a long long time

Penguin cafe is the place to go for breakfast and bacon butties. If the weather is nice sit outside and soak up the sun. Been coming here for years and always stop off on a bike ride. Rocky road is good! Staff are always friendly and helpful even when I walk in like a drowned rat when it's raining.

About 4 or 5 different breakfast all day long BRILLENT prices ,and you can take your 🐕 in .

Excellent service today at the Penguin cafe. It was very busy but Michelle, the girl that took our order was extremely polite and a credit to this business. The food was delicious as always and we wouldn't go anywhere else when visiting Lee On Solent

Quirky seafront cafe. A must for Penguin lovers. Dog friendly, seating inside and out. Happy helpful staff and tasty home style food. The breakfasts are excellent. If you’re having a cuppa don’t forget to have a generous slice of homemade cake. Delicious.

Fairly standard place if you want a old school breakfast, nice selection of different amounts and prices to suit all budgets, staff friendly and helpful, little bit cramped for space, but would go again.

Opted for the Penguin breakfast, I had tea, my partner had coffee. We got there just as they'd opened and I'm glad we did. It quickly became busy. The breakfast was lovely, served in good time. Every time we've been here it's busy, and that's always a good sign! We'll be back, as the staff are great, service is prompt and the breakfast is always good!

This is our favourite place to take our dog. Lovely friendly cafe with good basic food. Very dog friendly and after a long walk Buddy likes nothing more than to settle down to a 'dog sausage'.

A cafe by the sea, the food is ok and as long as you realise this is just a cafe you won't be disappointed.

All day breakfast was ok..nothing special. More concerned about lack of hand hygiene. Several customers came in to purchase ice cream cones. Servers handled money ( mostly coins) and immediately picked up cornets to fill with ice cream without washing hands. No more ice cream from The Penguin for my family & I.

Absolutely true, tastes delicious, decent price, served hot and on time! Nothing to complain about. Oh, and I love all the photos of penguins!

This is a sea front cafe in Lee. It is nothing fancy but the food was good, staff pleasant and speedy service. Just what we wanted

We come here for one of the English breakfast choices quite regularly. Food is good. The chef there is one of the few that can cook a fried egg to my liking i.e. the white cooked and the yolk runny. Uncooked white makes me heave. .

Great service, lovely food and friendly atmosphere

Our family have always driven to eat at the Penguin cafe, however we were so disappointed with the breakfast today, we won't return. Our eggs were hard and crispy, my tomatoes were tinned, but husbands saute potatoes were not sauted enough. The staff were really miserable! So disappointing.

The food is always great and the staff are friendly, particularly the Mexican chef. Well worth a visit.

Was recommended to try this place by my cousin who said the posh breakfast was great and he's not wrong came down by motorcycle and the posh breakfast was lovely+ a latte definitely value for money and better than some other places I've been to will definitely return

Lovely cute and quirky cafe with a real penguin theme! I had a bacon roll which was lovely, my Mum had scrambled egg on toast. Cakes looked nice so would be nice to return and try. Service was friendly and not at all flustered considering how busy it was. Recommend and would return.

My go to Cafe in Lee on Solent. Wether it’s my day off, working or uni work, I come here and sit either inside or out. The staff are lovely, the cakes are incredible, I recommend the sunshine cake as it’s the best cake in Lee On Solent, the coffee is very nice and overall it’s extremely good value. The ice cream queue is long, so I always go inside and order cake instead. Of all the cafes in Lee, and I’ve tried them all, this has the best ambience (inside) and the best cake. Others have better pastries and hot food. Overall my go to.

We were in a long queue and bless the staff worked so hard going through all the customers they were fantastic . We were so happy when it was our turn at last and absolutely worth the wait . My husband got a large rainbow ice cream with flake and I got the same . It was amazing so we head over to the beach to sit and eat them . Can’t recommend enough it was really yummy and perfect for a cool down after a very hot day.

Visited for lunch and it was busy but we managed to get a table indoors. Quite a long queue to order but wasn't too long a wait for food after we had ordered. Staff was helpful and allowed us to swap drinks on the breakfasts to a soft drink and a decaf coffee. Cakes on the counter looked amazing and if I wasn't having a brekkie, would not have been able to resist! We ordered a posh breakfast (£9.50), a Penguin breakfast (£7.95), and a cod & chips (£7) with beans. The breakfasts came with toast and either tea or coffee. Posh brekkie came with Cumberland rather than normal sausages, & potato slices rather than hash brown. Also half a tomato rather than tinned tomatoes. No beans though. I enjoyed the Cumberland sausages as they were nice and peppery and well seasoned. The bacon could have been browned more & the rest of the brekkie was OK. Batter on the fish seemed a bit soggy but was piping hot and chips weren't bad. The fish could have done with some seasoning. Our aunt enjoyed the Penguin brekkie. Overall, the food we had wasn't bad and staff were nice and friendly, and the place was clean. Would like to return for cakes and ice cream in future.

This place is just great its our go to, always clean, the food is served quickly perfectly cooked , not greasy at all, varied menu, Huge cakes great hot chocolates in the winter and ice cream in the summer our grandkids ask to go here for treat meals . Love all the penguin pictures.

We took breakfast here on a weekend morning. It was not too busy and although the outside tables were mostly occupied, there was plenty of space inside. The breakfast menu is quite extensive if rather traditional, and my 'big breakfast' was very tasty. The staff were friendly and served us with a smile - all you could ask for, really!

Water & cake were the order of the day (too hot for coffee the day I went) when I visited the Penguin Cafe. The cake was yummy, the service superb & I just love all the penguin photos. If you’re in Lee-on-the-Solent this is a fab place to pop in for a bite and beverage.

Great located cafe with nice sea views, Lots of aircraft and boats out to watch. Went for the Penguin breakfast, great value at £7.50 including tea/coffee. Food came out quickly and was delicious and the staff were all fantastic. Unfortunately the coffee sucked, it was very weak and the epitome of free coffee so in future, I’d suggest the tea.

Gutted big breakfast for £9 with without tomatos or black pudding. More like medium breakfast. But apart from that. Tastes good and great location and lovely staff.

A wet day in January and we found this fantastic café in Lee-on-Solent. The food was great, very good size portions, served hot! The side salad was excellent. The staff were friendly and it was amazing value, not to keen on dogs being allowed on the premises but they deserve their five stars.
